⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧•• broken spell

── .✦ IT WAS SLIGHTLY DARK when the trio found Fairy Godmother, and it wasn't how they expected. Instead of the woman being her usual bubbly, caring self, she was actually just completely stone, "Oh, my gosh." Jane mumbled, walking down the steps to stand in front of her stoned mother, "Hi, Mom."
Freddie placed his hand on her bare shoulder comfortingly, and Jane smiled in response, thankful for his kind gesture and the wind blew hair into her face, making her push the strand of hair behind her ear carefully.
"Um, I don't know if you can hear me. But it's been a really crazy day. On the plus side, it's been the longest birthday I've ever had." Jane chuckled, trying to bring some light into the dark situation and Freddie and Gil laughed too, hoping to make Jane better knowing that she had others around that are the same as her, "On the minus side, everybody's under an evil spell. But on the plus side, Carlos remembered my birthday. See?"
She held up the necklace that was around her neck spelling 'Jarlos' and grinned wide at her Mom, whilst Freddie smiled too, glad that Jane liked the gift. Gil glanced over at Freddie and sent him a compassionate smile, receiving a warm one-sided smirk in response.
"We're going to figure out how to undo this. We'll find a way to make this right, Mom." Jane told her, staring into her stone eyes, her own eyes full of hope. Freddie took a step forwards on the stairs and sent a toothy grin towards the statue of Fairy Godmother.
"You'll be back to normal in no time, Fairy Godmother. Don't you worry." Freddie nodded and pointed a finger at Fairy Godmother, knowing that if the woman was her usual self, she'd scold him for pointing at her, making him chuckle to himself.
The three waited quite a while before Fairy Godmother turned back to her normal self. It was dark out, and Freddie was lying completely on his back with his legs raised, leaning against one of the large pillars and his arms were behind his head acting as a pillow.
It was like a lightning strike, and it definitely sounded like it but the three quickly recovered from it when they saw and heard Fairy Godmother, alive and well. Freddie was the first to jump up despite his awkward position, and he placed his arms around the woman to keep her upright.
"Mom. Mom!" Jane exclaimed, rushing over to her with Gil close behind and Fairy Godmother rushed over to her daughter, the two holding onto each other's arms whilst Freddie still kept his hands hovered around the woman incase she fell.
"Bibbidi-bobbidi, what happened?" Fairy Godmother asked, her tone worried and Gil looked over at Freddie, a smile on his face that the magical woman was okay. Freddie smiled back, though his was slightly awkward. I mean, the guy and his friends did kidnap Freddie's best-friend after all.
"The spell has been broken. It's okay." Jane reassured her mother, and Fairy Godmother let out a sigh of relief at the good news. Freddie looked out towards the woods, and he quickly remembered that Evie was out there, though he knew that she could protect herself and that she had her friends to help protect her too, he was still insanely worried about his "girlfriend."
"Guys, I'll be back. I gotta go find Evie. I'm glad you're okay, FG!" Freddie ran off into the woods at full speed, his feet moving faster than ever before and the three watched from the steps as Freddie disappeared through the trees.
It wasn't a far run, and he swore he had twisted his ankle on a twig that wasn't meant to be there but he eventually found the blue-haired beauty along with Ben, Carlos, Jay and Dude, "Oh, hey, Freddie. We're looking for Mal."
"Uh, I don't know where she is." The Prince panted, his hands on his knees for support and Evie rushed over to him, her hand on his shoulder, rubbing it comfortingly, "But Fairy Godmother is... un-stoned? I don't know the word for it, but we found her. I think Mal might've broken the spell."
"You're probably right. She might be hurt." Jay worried, his eyes wide with shock. He was upset with Mal for lying to them, but that didn't mean he hated her or didn't care for her anymore.
"Shit." Ben muttered, running off in the opposite direction and almost falling over in the process. In a matter of seconds, Ben had gone and it was just the four of them stood in the middle of the woods near the school courtyard.
"I've never heard him curse before." Carlos looked off in the distance where Ben had disappeared to and Freddie chuckled, knowing he'd heard that boy swear at least a thousand times before. Ben was mature, just not that mature, especially when he was angry.
"Are you okay? You've scraped your knee." Evie crouched down and inspected the large graze on his knee, she touched the skin around the wound and he winced loudly, causing her hand to jump back, "Sorry."
"I'm fine. Let's just go find Mal." Freddie smiled, holding his hand out to her, which she took and he helped her up before the four took off, following where Ben had ran off to with a small talking dog trailing behind.
"You're gonna get an infection!" Dude yelled, running over to Freddie and he stuck his tongue out in attempt to lick the wound covered in a tiny bit of blood, "Let me lick it!"
"No, that stings! Ow! Dude!" Freddie lifted her leg in the air so Dude couldn't reach it and he sped away from the dog, only to followed. Dude was at least three times faster than Freddie, and managed to catch up in a matter of five seconds, jumping on his back and knocking him to the floor face first. "Why?"
"You'll get an infection!" Dude repeated and Freddie rolled his eyes in annoyance. Carlos, Jay and Evie caught up and Jay took it upon himself to wrap his burly arms around Freddie's torso and lift him up as if the Prince couldn't get himself up.
"Thanks, Jay." Freddie smiled sweetly, patting the long-haired boy's face and Jay smirked, playing along whilst Evie stood with her arms across her chest, pretending to be jealous.
"Get a room. There's a child!" Carlos complained jokingly though his face and tone was serious and he pointed to Dude, who whimpered in response.
"Hey, I'm not a child! I'm four!" Dude yelled back and Carlos put his hands on his hips, tapping his foot against the dirt like a mother. Freddie chuckled as he watched Dude fearfully walk over to Carlos and the white-haired boy picked the dog up, holding him in his arms with a smile as if nothing ever happened.
A phone ringing caught everyone's attention and Evie dug into her hidden pocket under her skirt in her leather leggings, pulling her phone out to answer the call, "Hello? What do you mean "Audrey's in danger"? Okay, I'll be right there."
She pulled the phone away from her ear and placed the device back in her pocket before sending the boys a terrified, wide-eyed look.
"What happened?" Freddie questioned, his hands stuffed in his trouser pockets and Evie shook her head in disbelief and fear.
"Audrey won't wake up."

FREDDIE WAS IN AUDREY'S ROOM, the last place he ever thought he'd be but he was there, sat on the floor with his legs crisscrossed and his hands fiddling with the laces of his low-top lavender Vans. Jay, Carlos, Hook and Celia were all sat around whilst Ben and Uma stood, pacing the room and Mal and Evie were sat on either side of Audrey's bed, watching over her.
"She's slipping away." Evie stated, her eyes immediately looking over to Mal and then to Freddie, whose eyes were locked on his trainers. He mindlessly looked up and realised Evie was staring at him and he sent her a small sad smile of sympathy. He knew she was the saddest ones about Audrey because she was too kind for her own good. He supposed that was something he loved the most about her.
"There's only one person in the world who might be able to do something about this, and that's Hades." Mal spoke after sighing continuously and Evie looked over at her along with everybody else with curiosity in their eyes.
"Hades? He wouldn't do it." Ben claimed, his arms crossed over his chest and Freddie sat up right, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion towards his friend, "I wouldn't risk it."
"Actually, he might do it for me." Mal spoke, and everyone's eyes drifted from Ben to Mal, all filled with intense suspense, "He's my father." Her words shocked everyone except for Celia and Evie, who both already knew but Freddie didn't seem that surprised, he was happy about it.
"Oh, how I love a good plot twist!" Freddie exclaimed, startling them all and he chuckled a little in attempt to brighten the mood. But, of course, it didn't work for most of them, only for Celia.
"For real, dude!" Celia laughed and held out her curled fist, and he smiled, turning to fist-bump her. Everyone else just watched them in confusion, unsure why they were choosing that sad moment to laugh but Freddie was that kind of guy. The type of guy to try to brighten some of the worst situations. Of course not in a way where it's dark humour, but he'd just be happier so to not dampen the atmosphere.
"I'll have to send guards to get him." Ben slowly looked back over at Mal, fixing his belt a little out of un-comfortability and Jay walked over alongside Carlos.
"Maybe I can hitch a ride." Uma spoke up from beside Ben, her arms also crossed over her chest and Ben looked over at her, confused as to why she wanted to leave when it was her life goal to get to Auradon, "The Isle is my home. Someone needs to be there to protect it." She explained after seeing the eyes all on her.
"Well, then, you will need your first mate." Harry stood from one of the fancy chairs and approached Uma, placing his hands on her shoulders from behind, causing her to smile and shake her head.
"The Isle will be in very good hands." Mal complimented, tilting her head a little with a small smirk on her lips towards Uma and Harry. Suddenly, Celia stood up from the window seat and stood beside Freddie, who was still sat on the floor.
"Can I go, too?" Celia questioned suddenly and Freddie stared up at her, his face full of not only curiosity as to why she would want to leave but also sadness. He'd become close with the curly-haired girl over the time of her being there and he hated to see her go, "I wish I could be in both places."
Mal pressed her lips together, her expression gentle yet miserable and she stood up from the chair by Audrey's bedside, looking towards Uma and Harry, "I really think that Evie was right. And... I do think that we could've been friends." Mal smiled towards the green-haired girl, who sent her the smallest smile possible before staring down at her boots, "And I'm really sorry that I lied to all of you guys. And I'm sorry I expected you to keep it a secret." Her eyes planted on Freddie, the Prince sent her a grin in return.
"That's all right." Freddie waved it off from where he sat, and he finally pushed himself up off of the ground, making his way over to his girlfriend. He placed his hands on her shoulders and leaned his head down, kissing the back of her head before resting his chin atop her head.
"You deserved so much better than for me to lie." Mal's eyes scanned her friends and Jay scrunched his brows, staring at the end of Audrey's bed.
"You were just trying to do the right thing." Jay shook his head lightly with a slight nod, knowing that non-biological sister never lied with bad intentions.
"Yeah." Uma agreed with a nod of her own, her eyebrows pinched and Mal's head snapped over to the girl, slightly surprised by Uma's agreement. Then Evie stood up, her hand reached behind her to hold Freddie's as she looked over at Mal, deeply breathing out.
"I get it." Evie stated her feelings and Mal sent her a sweet smile, glad her best-friend had forgiven her. Then the blue-haired girl spun around, wrapping her arms tightly around Freddie's neck for comfort and the aforementioned boy automatically wrapped his own arms around her waist, pulling her impossibly closer to him.
He wanted nothing more than to comfort the love of his life, I mean, he thought he'd lost her not long ago.
