── .✦ IT WAS TIME, it was finally the day that the new VK's would be welcomed to Auradon Prep and much like when his girlfriend and his newfound friends came from the Isle, he was shaking in his boots not only out of nervousness but pure anxiousness.
Freddie ran out of the building to the crowded entrance with his guitar strapped to his back and he made sure to hold onto it tightly so it didn't fall and break. Everyone began to clap and he cursed under his breath, rushing to stand beside Evie, who cleared her throat at the sight of him.
It was clear she was avoiding him, and he definitely didn't want to make her uncomfortable... again, so he kept his attention on Mal and Ben approaching the stage, taking sly glances at the blue-haired girl every couple seconds.
The band began to play behind them, and Frederic almost jumped out of his skin, not knowing they were there. He supposed it was all the nervousness zooming through his veins putting him on edge.
Mal and Ben finally stood onto the podium but Mal went a little too far, attempting to leave the stage but Fairy Godmother quickly stopped her, putting her hands out, "Stay."
"Stay here?" Mal questioned, pointing down to the blue and yellow stage beneath her boots and Fairy Godmother nodded in response, shaking her hands backwards, gesturing for Mal to move.
"Yes." Mal and Ben waved at everyone, and Ben looked over at his best-friend, sending him a nervous smile and receiving two thumbs up in return, "Bippity-boppity, one, two, one, two. Can everybody hear me?" Fairy Godmother spoke through the microphone, waving her hand about in the air.
Everyone cheered in response, notifying her that it was a yes and Frederic placed two fingers in his mouth, whistling towards the woman. Fairy Godmother smiled and nodded before reaching up and handing the microphone to the King, "Ben."
"Thank you, Fairy Godmother. What's up, Auradon?" Ben chuckled and once again, mostly everybody cheered loudly as Mal stood in the same place, her hands pressed together in front of her chest in happiness, "Thank you. Thank you so much for coming out to welcome our new arrivals. They'll be here soon. It worked out pretty well for the first four."
"Definitely." Freddie muttered, his hands stuffing into his mauve trousers with a sly grin on his face and Evie turned her head towards him for a split moment before turning away quickly. It was obvious she wanted to comment on what he had said but she stayed quiet.
"Mal, this is the exact spot we first met not so long ago." Ben held onto her hands with one of his and the other held onto the microphone, the couple staring lovingly into each other's eyes, "I feel like I've known you my whole life. But did I mention, I'm in love with you?" Ben's words hit Evie like a sucker punch, and she squeezed her eyes shut, forcing a smile onto her face for her best-friend.
Ben took a few steps back and a few people in the crowd awed them. Freddie quickly spun the strap of his guitar around, and began to play a quiet familiar tune. Carlos came running up beside him and began to click his fingers, and a few others walked up too, such as Ben's parents and Jay.
"I met this girl who rocked my world like it's never been rocked. And now I'm living just for her and I won't ever stop. I never thought that it could happen to a guy like me. But now, look at what you've done..." Ben got down on one knee as Mal turned away, pulling the ring box out of his pocket, "You got me down on my knee."
Ben passed the microphone to Carlos as Freddie slowly put the music to a halt and he opened up the ring box with an extremely shocked purple-haired beauty staring down at him.
"Mal, it's you and me. It's you and me forever. Will you marry me?" Ben held up the box, opening it up for everyone to see the beautiful golden ring with leaves on the band and a gorgeous purple diamond in the centre and Frederic smiled, knowing he was the one who designed and made that ring, "Will you be my Queen?"
"Yes." Mal nodded with tears in her eyes and everyone began to cheer. Carlos turned to Freddie and the two wrapped their arms around each other with big, toothy grins. Then, Freddie turned to Evie with a convincing smile and she rolled her eyes, leaning up to peck him on his lips.
Although it was only a quick peck, Freddie was glad she wasn't completely ignoring him and he took that as a subtle win. Ben slid the ring into Mal's ring finger and the two kissed with raw passion. Freddie turned to Adam and high-fived him, both of them in a fit of laughter.
Freddie eventually ended up back beside Evie, the two watching Ben and Mal and Frederic leaned over with a sad sigh, "Makes our movie nights seem dull, but I suppose that just means we love each other enough that we feel like we don't need to rush things... Not that they don't love each other enough. Damn it."
Evie stiffened beside him at the mention of 'love' again and Freddie quickly noticed her discomfort, cursing himself a million times over in his head for not thinking before he spoke like an absolute fool.
"Oh, I'm s—"
"I love y— movies." Evie rushed out, her whole body turned to face him and her lips inches from his and he smiled, nodding.
"Same." Freddie lifted his head and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead before completing turning away from her and clapping his hands together for his best-friend and the love of his life. Ben jumped down from the stage and wrapped his arms tightly around Frederic.
"I'm engaged, man." Ben muttered into his shoulder and Freddie chuckled, slapping his back before they both pulled away, Jay and Carlos quickly joining them.
"Yes, you are, buddy!" Freddie wrapped both of his arms around Ben and Jay, and Carlos was on the other side of Jay as they gave each other hugs. Ben then moved over to his parents, Freddie staying behind with Jay and Carlos.
"All bow to Her Royal Majesty!" Jay held his arms out towards Mal, speaking in a failed British accent.
"Ah, yes, her Royal Purple-ness!" Carlos took off his hat in a respectful manner, mocking Jay's accent with a roll of his 'R' and both boys along with Evie all bowed fancily towards Mal.
"Silence, you annoying peasants." Mal waved her hand and walked off, side-stepping so she could still see them.
"As you wish, my liege." Jay responded with his hands behind his back.
"Your Crankiness." Carlos spoke in his normal accent again with a chuckle, placing his hat back on his head. Freddie took that as his chance to walk over to Ben, wrapping his arm around the King's neck and putting him in a playful headlock.
"Careful, I can get you executed for that!" Ben exclaimed, unable to contain his laughter as he attempted to free himself from the loose headlock but clearly failing.
"Not if you can't breathe!" Freddie chuckled and let go, fixing the boy's crown quickly and placing his hands behind his back as if he never committed such crimes.
"What? So, now you're gonna act all innocent as if you didn't just try to kill me?" Ben tilted his head with a grin and Freddie nodded, a sweet smile on his face towards his best-friend, "Okay, let's do this." Ben spoke up after a while, fist-bumping Carlos.
The dark-purple limousine arrived and Evie turned to Frederic, choking on her words for a split second before she quickly threw her arms around him, taking a deep inhale of his scent. She pulled away after a few moments and swiftly pressed a kiss to his cheek, letting go of his hands so she could enter the limo just before Mal.
Everyone cheered and laughed as the limousine drove away, and Doug turned to Freddie, pointing at his black guitar, "So, if you weren't a Prince, do you think you'd be a rockstar? You're pretty killer with instruments."
"I already am a rockstar, Douglas." Frederic sent him a toothy grin, patting the boy's shoulder before he walked off, slithering through the crowd until he bumped into someone accidentally, or rather purposefully on their end.
"Stop." Audrey squinted her eyes, looking up at him with a hand on his chest and he took a worried step back, his hands up in surrender.
"Uh... Hello." Frederic shrugged, unsure of what to say and he slowly lowered his hands, placing them on the strap of his guitar. Audrey continued to stare up at him with what looked like an angered expression, her hands crossed over her chest.
"Why doesn't Ben love me?" She suddenly asked and the Prince felt taken aback, having to recompose himself before he responded.
"Do you want an honest answer?" He scrunched one eyebrow, tilting his head a little in attempt to observe Audrey's body language. She just looked full of rage, and he assumed it to be about the engagement considering the previous question she'd asked.
"Yes!" She yelled in his face aggressively, flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder with sass and Frederic's eyes widened for a moment. He chose to take another step back just for his own sake incase she slapped him before he took a deep breath, ready to speak truth and only truth.
"Peace!" Frederic ran around her and into the building before she could say another word, choosing to avoid the drama. There were so many ways that could have ended, for example, he could've just told her how self-centred and controlling she was in her relationship with Ben, earning a slap in response — and that wasn't even one of the worst outcomes.
Eventually, he arrived at his dorm where he carefully placed his guitar on its stand with his electric guitar and his ukulele by his bed. His whole life, he was so interested in the sound of music, it was magical to him but now it was more than that, music was therapy, music was the only friend that really cared about him.
Music helped him through hard times, music was his parents when they weren't around, music was his life. So, that was what he aspired to do, he aspired to create music for those in the same situation as him and thanks to his astounding mother's vocal abilities, he did inherit some of his own musical talents.
Acoustic guitar was his first, and once he got the hang of that, he moved onto electric, then ukulele. After that, he explored all different types of instruments and eventually began singing, but that all stayed in his private music lessons or his dorm room when Chad wasn't around. He didn't really mind the other students from nearby dorms hearing him, not that they'd be able to pinpoint which dorm the music was coming from.
Enough about music, Frederic spent the next hour studying a little, waiting for them all to return with the new arrivals. He missed Dizzy, not that he'd admit it and he also missed being able to meet new people considering he knew everyone in Auradon and Corona. It'd be a nice change.
