── .✦ LOVE WAS HARD, but when you love someone enough, you'd battle through an unbeatable war just to save them. That's what Rapunzel was doing for her Flynn Rider, she was travelling to a place she knew nothing about just to break the curse making her husband evil.

She had managed to get him out of the house, which was a big step. The tall, lean man stood grumpily beside Rapunzel, he seemed tired but Freddie didn't question it. They were both wearing leather, and they looked pretty cool despite the circumstances. Freddie helped design the outfits, although he'd never take any credit for them, it was all Evie.

Freddie was wearing the exact same outfit as when Mal left and Ben got captured, he just ditched the cloak, it was pretty warm out, "This way." He led them to the car garage in the prep school and moved past the limousines, catching sight of the much smaller and less fancier vehicles, "Climb in, procreators."

Rapunzel laughed sarcastically and opened the back door, helping Eugene in before she climbed in herself. Frederic watched with a confused look, he was so concerned and he had a slight gut feeling that his mother may have drugged his father, but he didn't question it, he just rushed around to the other side of the black car.

Just when he opened the driver's door, he heard a slam and the clacking of heels against the cement beneath them, "Wait!" He lifted his head over at the approaching footsteps and saw a head of blue hair. Evie slowed down when she locked eyes with him and she smiled, stopping at least two metres in front of him.

"Uh, what are you doing?" Freddie tilted his head, his face scrunched up in confusion and he held onto the driver's door firmly, leaning on it for balance.

"I'm really sorry for saying this, but you're stupid. You don't know your way around the Isle like I do, I'm coming with you." Evie stood tall, not backing down and she sent him a sweet smile that he couldn't say no to — of course she knew that.

"Please, Evie." He internally face-palmed, he already had stress on his shoulders as it is. He knew he wouldn't have to worry about Evie, she could take care of herself but the thought of her being stuck there if something went wrong pained him.

"Nope." She stepped onto her tippy toes, pressing a gentle kiss to his cheek before moved away from him, rushing over to the passenger side to climb in. She turned to Rapunzel and Eugene, smiling widely, they looked exactly how she expected them to, it was sort of creepy in a way, "Hi Mr and Mrs. Fitzherbert, I'll be your escort on the Isle."

。・:*˚:✧。

ON THE ISLE, it was the exact same as when they went there to save Mal. They parked the much more spacious vehicle in the same parking spot, covering it with tarp before they took the very drugged Eugene up to the apartment that Freddie had been to before.

"Be careful, Frederic." Rapunzel warned her son who was carrying her husband with ease, so Freddie was pretty confused about what she was so worried about. Although, most caring mothers worry about everything, even things they don't need to be worries about.

Gently, he set his father down on the very worn down couch and rubbed his gloved hands together, looking over at his mom and Evie, "You have to be careful. Well, both of you do but you can handle yourself." He smiled over at Evie, who grinned in return despite the fact that it wasn't supposed to be a happy situation but just looking at him gave her the urge to never stop smiling.

"Excuse me? I can't handle myself? You do realise I made a whole pub full of thieves and ruffians burst out into song about their dreams." Rapunzel put her hands on her hips, sending Freddie a pointed look which he didn't reply to, he only facepalmed, clearly too stressed to deal with it.

Evie noticed and walked towards him, a sympathetic smile on her lips as she placed her hand onto his wrist, attempting to tug it away from his face. Frederic looked up from his hand and into her hazel eyes. He couldn't deny that he loved her eyes, not only were they gorgeous but they were also filled with so much tenderness and warmth that could instantly brighten his day.

She let go of his wrist and placed her soft, manicured hand onto his cheek, looking over his features. She was so worried about him ever since the cotillion, firstly he disappeared and then he didn't speak much to anyone, not even her. The whole Jafar thing and being vague when asking Jay about his father pushed her further off of the edge, so to finally know what was going on brought her a sense of peace.

"Is there something going on between you two?" Rapunzel interrupted their moment, stood in the same spot and position but her expression was softer as she asked. Frederic leaned forwards and pressed a gentle kiss to her cheek, causing her to blush before he spoke.

"No time for that, let's go find the menace." Freddie raised his eyebrows curtly, much like his father does and he placed his hand into Evie's, walking towards the exit to the creaking stairwell, his mother hot on their tails, "Do you have any idea where she might be?"

Evie looked up from her boots and to his eyes, a shocked look in her eyes when she realised he was asking her and her mind began to work, "We could speak with Jafar first... but—"

"It's okay, Evie." He interrupted her when he noticed the dejected expression on her face, his thumb slowly gliding over the back of her hand to hopefully bring her a sense of comfort, and it worked pretty well.

It was silent the rest of the way, they eventually had to dislocate their hands to look more black-hearted and Freddie looked back at his mother every five seconds to make sure she was okay. They arrived at Evie's old home and Freddie stopped them nearby.

"You two wait here, okay?" He was mostly talking to his mother as he spoke, and they both nodded understandingly. Evie told him she would look after his mother whilst he was gone, and he smiled, giving her another kiss to the cheek before he rushed off inside of the building.

All of the walls were covered in dust and muck, and the doors were unlocked as he walked down the hallways. It was silent until he reached the end of the hallway, and he stopped in front of the last door, placing his ear against the wooden door.

Banging and arguing could be heard, but it wasn't so much aggressive but more like bickering. With a heavy sigh, Freddie placed his hand on the doorknob and twisted it, opening the door wide. He didn't know what he was expecting, but he knew it wouldn't be good considering he just broke into their home.

There was three of them, and he was quick to identify them. One woman, pale with dark hair and a crown atop her head, he recognised her as Evie's mother — Evil Queen. The other woman wasn't as pale, she had almond skin with dark curly hair surrounding her face, and once he saw her freckles, he instantly knew she was Carlos' mother — Cruella de Vil.

Jafar didn't need a description, he was easy to spot by his black headdress with the ruby in the front. He instantly raised his hands to show he didn't mean any harm but the three seemed to not care, just staring back at him.

"We've already been robbed twice this week, there's nothing left, boy." Evil Queen rolled her eyes with a scoff, turning back around in her chair to finish sewing the fabric in her hands. Frederic slowly lowered his hands, and sent a smile in Cruella's direction, earning a snarl in return, causing his smile immediately dropping from his lips.

Jafar turned around, fiddling with some jewels on the counter whilst Cruella stood still, just watching him intently. He didn't expect it to be this calm, he expected to be chased out of the building but they seemed miserable. Freddie cleared his throat, and they all turned to him again with looks of disbelief and irritation.

"Jafar?" Frederic turned to him, and the man tilted his head, nodding as to acknowledge he heard him, "I need to speak with you about your daughter."

"My daughter?" Jafar spoke with a raspy voice that was surprisingly louder than he'd imagined but it was definitely intimidating — Freddie tried not to show his fear though in case they'd think he was weak.

"You have a daughter?" Cruella asked in a humiliating tone, taking a step back and she had her finger pointed towards him, almost like she was making fun of him. Luckily, Jafar ignored her teasing and kept his gaze on the unknown boy before him.

"How do you know my daughter?" Jafar scrunched his eyebrows. He hadn't seen his daughter for many years, the last time he saw her was at least a decade ago and it was only a small glimpse from afar before she disappeared. It could've very well been his imagination but he could've sworn it was real.

"She... is an old friend of mine, and she's in trouble. I need your help locating her." He lied. He couldn't have told the truth otherwise Jafar never would've helped him. But, there was a part of him begging to just go to Fairy Godmother and ask her to break the curse, if that was even possible.

It was dangerous what they were doing, and there was a massive possibility that the whole thing just ends in shit. Maybe he should just take them home, maybe they could fix it another way or maybe this was the only way.
