── .✦ "TRUE LOVE'S KISS won't defeat this." Uma called out when everyone approached the railing again, swaying in the water and she held her arms out as she yelled, "The world will know my name!"
She slung one of her tentacles towards them on the cruise, causing them to duck and shout, and Freddie rushed forward towards Evie, his arms around her as soon as he reached her, "I'm okay." She reassured him and he nodded, reluctant to release his hold on her waist.
Uma chucked another tentacle towards them with a loud groan as if it was hard to do, and Freddie held onto Evie as she fell back into his arms, keeping a steady hold on her. Mal paced around angrily, before she stopped, staring at Uma with bright green eyes, breathing heavily in rage.
"Mal?" Ben took a step forwards out of concern, and she looked towards him, her heart racing and suddenly, purple smoke surrounded her, turning her into a dragon. She wasn't as big as her mother, but she was definitely scary as she roared towards them, flying up into the air, causing Uma to laugh loudly.
Mal blew fire onto Uma, causing the girl to move backwards before she flung one of her tentacles to the dragon, causing Mal to fly back, "Come on, Mal! Let's finish this once and for all."
The dragon flew around Uma, as the aforementioned girl slung her tentacles towards her and as Mal sent another breath of fire onto Uma, she ducked under the water so the fire wouldn't hit her. Uma jumped out of the water again with a loud yell, causing more water to fly towards the group on the cruise, so Freddie used his body and arms to shelter Evie so she didn't get more soaked than she already was.
Then, the cruise began to sway from side to side, causing them all to run from one end to another. Evie grabbed onto Freddie's hand as they ran, making sure they didn't get split apart.
When the swaying stopped, Ben ran to the railing and roared as loud as he could out of anger before he walked towards Freddie, giving the prince his crown and he pulled off his jacket, Freddie quickly taking it and with a run and dive, Ben was in the water with Uma.
"Ben!" They all ran towards the railing to see if he was okay, and Freddie stood still in the middle of the dance floor behind the crowd, holding Ben's crown and jacket with a tired look on his face.
"There's something seriously wrong with him." Freddie shook his head out of disbelief and slowly walked towards the crowd, staying behind as he waited for it all to end so he could go to bed, preferably with Evie by his side.
"What are you gonna do, Ben? Splash me?" Uma teased, her hands on her hips as she laughed loudly, splashing a bit of water around her.
"That's enough! It's got to stop. This isn't the answer. The fighting has got to stop. Nobody wins this way. We have to listen and respect each other. It won't be easy. But let's be brave enough to try. Uma, I know you want what is best for the Isle. Help me make a difference." Ben held his hand out towards Uma, waiting patiently for her to obey and Mal roared and screeched as Uma stayed still, looking between Ben and Mal as she decided.
Uma reached her tentacle towards Ben, and dropped something in his hand before she turned around with a small smile and a heavy sigh, ducking under the water, disappearing out of sight. Not wanting to be in the sea any longer than he needed to, Ben swam towards the cruise as Jay grabbed some ladders and Ben climbed up them. Adam rushed over, watching his son climb up, "There you go."
The man held onto Ben's hand and pulled him over the railing and as soon as he reached the floor, everyone began to cheer, except for Freddie, who stood there with an exhausted expression, the crown and blazer in his hands. Ben walked towards the prince, and held his hands out so Freddie could give him back his belongings, only for Ben to take his crown, leaving him the jacket.
Mal screeched loudly, catching their attention as Ben placed the crown back on his head, and Freddie moved over to stand beside Evie, holding onto Ben's blazer as they all watched Mal fly down to the flooring of the cruise carefully where she immediately transformed back into herself, in a completely different outfit — her hair down and curled, and her dress was all dark purple, looking like Mal again.
Mal gasped as she patted some hot spots on her dress, causing Ben to chuckle, and once she was done taking care of herself, she looked over at Ben with a chuckle before grabbing her skirt and curtsying to him.
He quickly bowed before her, and she giggled once more before two guards escorted her down the steps, everybody cheering and applauding at her presence. Evie rushed forwards, standing closest to Mal as she reached the bottom of the stairs. Evie noticed another spot of the girl's dress on fire, so she bent down gracefully and blew it out for her, before holding her hand out, and Mal took it in hers as they walked towards an awaiting Ben.
"Hi." Mal greeted Ben, and he stared at her mesmerisingly as she got closer to him, and as soon as she got in reach, he pulled her closer, smashing his lips into hers.
"All right, all right, all right, all right." Carlos placed his hand on Ben's shoulder with a smirk and the two pulled away with laughter.
"I owe you guys so much." Ben told them, looking around and Freddie just stood watching, clearly not feeling the best, a large purple bruise on his cheek with a slight bit of dried blood, causing Ben to realise just how damage he'd done in such a small amount of time.
"Yeah." Evie nodded, her hands on her hips and everyone copied her, agreeing until they all laughed.
"If there is anything that you need, or anything that I can do for you..." Ben offered when Evie raised her hand.
"Um... Actually... There is, Ben." Evie took a step forward and her hand reached back behind her to grab onto Freddie's absentmindedly, and he was brought out of his tired daydream, smiling slightly at their hands, "Um... I know a girl who'd... Who'd really love to come to Auradon. It's Drizella's daughter, Dizzy. She's like a little sister to me."
"Then she should come." Ben smiled at her, and she grinned from ear-to-ear, giggling.
"Okay, great. Actually, um..." She raised her hand again, moving closer to Ben and releasing her hand from Freddie's and they all laughed around her at her, "Ben, there's a lot of kids who would really love it here in Auradon. Kids just like us who also deserve a second chance. Can I maybe get you a list?"
"Yes, yes, absolutely. Please." Ben held onto her hands as they all cheered and Freddie pressed his lips together, smiling a little before he discreetly disappeared from the loud crowd.
"Freddie, are you okay, honey?" Belle noticed the boy walking off tiredly, and he looked over at her before slowly nodding.
"Y-yeah. Could you just give this to Ben?" He strolled over to her, holding out the King's blazer and she nodded, taking it from him gently. He smiled respectfully at her and stuffed his hands in his pockets as he turned around, walking towards the exit of the cruise.
He wasn't entirely sure where his legs were even taking him, but he knew it was right as he just kept moving. It took a lot out of a person to keep feelings all bottled in, and especially a person that has a kind heart and doesn't want to hurt anyone he loves in any way. He never wanted to bombard any of his friends with his feelings, even if they wanted him to, he never wanted to be a problem, or an emotional 'freak'.
Freddie was supposed to be King of Corona once he turned sixteen, or maybe later on in life, but definitely soon... he wasn't ready. He didn't even know his Kingdom, his people, or even his own parents, not that it was his intention not to know them. He could admit he knew them more than they knew him.
Singing and loud music could be heard from the cruise nearby, and he just continued to walk, his hands still stuffed in his pockets. Of course he didn't expect his friends to wonder where he was or if he was okay, I mean, a normal person would expect that, they're his friends, but I guess he wasn't normal. He wanted them to dance, and sing, and laugh, and not worry about his presence or existence.
That's how much he loved his friends. Love. Love was such a silly thing, aren't parents supposed to love their children? If so, then why do so many parents dislike their children for absolutely no reason at all? And if there was a reason, why can't they use communication? Kids don't understand when they're doing something wrong, so you have to teach them the right way... Right?
Growing up, his parents adored him, but as soon as he moved to Auradon Prep, they became distant, and uncaring of his existence. A lot of people did, actually. His friends in Corona, his older sister he knew nothing about, and even his friends at the Prep school. He couldn't even remember the last time someone asked him how he was, well, except for Belle just a few minutes ago.
Eventually, Freddie ended up at his dorm, and he reached into his trouser pocket, pulling out his keys. He quickly unlocked the door and threw it open, closing it behind him. The Prince didn't bother turning on the lights or closing the curtains, he just headed straight for his bed, throwing himself back onto the mattress and he immediately fell asleep to the sound of distant singing and music.
He didn't feel sorry for himself, nor did he hate life. He just wanted a break from that life, even if it wasn't even that hard of a life. Constantly having to deal with things on his own took a toll on his brain, his heart and his body. And he especially felt worn out after the rumour about his parents that were spreading around, he was going to confront them about that... definitely soon. If not soon, then eventually!
