── .✦ "FREDDIE! COME ON!" Ben called out, grabbing onto the boy's arm, dragging him away from the fight and through the smoke towards the tunnel after Evie, "Mal!" Ben called out when Mal didn't come out of the other end of the tunnel.

Freddie ran over to the limousine behind Evie, and chucked his sword in the boot of the limo before climbing inside after the blue-haired VK. Soon after, Mal and Ben climbed inside and the vehicle began to move.

Slowly, Freddie moved his gloved hand over to Evie's, interlocking his fingers with hers as he stared out of the window, and she blushed heavily, staring at the side of his face but her trance was interrupted when Ben began to talk to Mal.

"I'm really sorry that things didn't go the way you wanted them to." He apologised, and she looked over at him, her breaths heavy and her arm rested up on the door.

"I mean... As long as you're safe, that's..." She shrugged with a raise of her hand, not sure what to say and Ben smiled slightly, looking out the window.

"I mean, at least I got to see the Isle. They're my people, too. Uma helped me see that." Ben stared off into the distance as if he missed Uma already, and Mal looked at him, tilting her head in confusion.

"Ben, Uma captured you." Mal stated with disbelief laced in her tone.

"She's an angry girl with a bad plan." Ben told her, and her jaw dropped towards him in shock as Freddie snapped his eyes to his best-friend, his eyebrows furrowed, "That's not so different from you when you came to Auradon, Mal."

Mal looked away, her face full of anger and Freddie didn't blame her. Imagine your sworn enemy being defended by the one you love most, that's insanely hurtful, "Awkward." Dude spoke what everyone else was thinking and Freddie snorted at the dog.

"Dude... Dude, I know you can talk but it doesn't always mean you should." Carlos scolded calmly to his pet as Freddie laughed under his breath, and Ben glared at the prince. Evie punched his arm lightly, and when he looked to her, confusion engulfing his features, Evie shook her head in disagreement to his actions, causing his mouth to snap shut, obeying her order.

"Here we go!" Jay yelled and they all got ready to cross the bridge, and Evie looked out the window to the beautiful golden sparkles surrounding the bridge, her grip tightening on Freddie's hand slightly.

They arrived at Auradon Prep, and they all walked through the field together, Freddie greeting all of his friends walking by that he hadn't seen in a while. Ben was pulled away by Jane about the Cotillion and Lonnie walked off to store the swords away.

As Freddie stared at his boots, he felt dirt falling down one of his sleeves and his socks felt damp, and he craved a shower, so he quickly approached Evie with a small smile, "I'll see you later, okay? I need to shower."

"Okay. I'll see you." Evie grinned, and pressed her lips to his for a moment, pulling away before she got too caught up in the kiss, and Freddie gently kissed her nose before running off in the other direction for his well deserved hot shower.

Entering his dorm, he found Chad on his bed, wrapped up in his sheets, crying his heart out as he watched what sounded to be The Notebook. Freddie resisted from laughing at the sight as he hung his large black coat on the coat hanger that was nailed to the back of the door, and he approached his bed to take off his gloves and boots.

Chad watched him from the corner of his tears eye, trying to watch the movie and the prince at the same time, when he got too curious about Ben's capture, closing his laptop and wiping his tears, sitting up in his bed, "Is Ben...?"

"Is Ben what?" Freddie asked, sitting down on the edge of his own bed to untie his laces, and he glanced up at the teary eyed Chad, feeling no remorse towards the dude.

"I don't know, I just heard some things." Chad shrugged, cuddling his bed sheets as he sniffled and Freddie stood up abruptly, stretching his arms out, causing his shirt to lift a little.

"Ben's fine if that's what you were asking." Freddie nodded at him awkwardly before spinning on his heels to scavenge through his drawers for his shower essentials. As quick as he entered the room, he left with his slippers on his feet, ignoring Chad on his way out, excited to take this long awaited shower before the Cotillion.

AT FENCING PRACTICE before Cotillion, Jay had an announcement to make, so he gathered them all around to talk with a huge grin on his face, "All right. You all know I come from the Isle, right? Things are pretty whack. But there is one thing the Isle's got on Auradon. If you're strong, we want you by our side, girl or boy."

"That's right." Freddie agreed, nodding with a smile on his pale face, causing a few others to join in, nodding in agreement too with a couple hums but it wasn't long until Chad protested.

"Hey. Jay, hold on here, we don't, uh... We don't break the rules here in Auradon." Chad chuckled, holding onto Jay's shoulders, "That's over on the Isle."

Jay pulled out the rulebook from his back pocket and began to read the rule, ""The team shall be comprised of a captain and eight men." So, uh, give it up for your new team captain."

"Whoa. What?" Chad yelled in disbelief, causing Lonnie to giggle as she entered the room in her bright fencing uniform, grabbing Freddie's attention at how colourful and creative the outfit looked.

Jay placed the whistle around Lonnie's neck and she smiled at him as he did so, "Thank you." She thanked and Jay stood back as they all began to clap for her, excluding Chad and they bowed before her, showing her respect. Lonnie turned to Chad with an expectant look, and Chad shook his head before obeying, bowing before her too and she blew her whistle, raising her hands in the air, "Give me ten. Come on, guys."

They all got down on the ground in the plank position and began doing their pushups effortlessly, counting as they did so, but it was a little harder for Chad as Lonnie stood on his back mockingly, causing Freddie to laugh as he did his pushups, "Pick it up, Chad." She teased, "Nice form, Jay." Once they finished, she blew her whistle again, taking her foot from Chad's back, "Okay, practice is over. Get out of here. Go get ready for Cotillion."

Freddie's suit was similar to his usual suit that he wore almost everyday, only it was more fancy. The main colour was light purple, the same colour as Rapunzel's dress in the movies, and there were darker purple accents, along with a dark-blue boutonnière in his blazer pocket, the colour matching Evie's dress. The only bad part about it was that he hadn't even asked Evie to the Cotillion yet because he'd been so caught up in Ben and Mal's drama, he couldn't find the time.

And, if they were dating, it would've been a given that they were going together automatically, but they weren't even dating yet considering they only had their first kiss like what? The week prior? But, despite all of that, Freddie was still stood in front of Evie and Mal's dorm, wiping down his pants as his hands shook nervously.

"Hey, Vee, I was wondering if you wanted to go to Cotillion... with me?" Freddie practiced, but he just cringed at himself as he asked, so he tried again, "What's up, Vee? Just wanted to ask if you wanted to swing by the Cotillion with your boy?" This time, he cringed even harder at himself, and he went to try again when the door swung open, revealing an extremely excited Evie.

"Yes!" She squealed, throwing herself into him out of joy and he took a step backwards out of shock, eventually wrapping his arms around her torso tightly, smiling into her long blue hair. He lifted her up slightly, and she bent her legs, feeling like a princess in his arms — technically, she indeed was a princess.

"You heard all that?" Freddie asked cautiously as he placed her back down on the ground carefully and she pulled away with a bright smile crossing her face, looking into his eyes.

"Just the last of it, you dork." She giggled lightly and he chuckled at the insult he found to be angelic coming from her, "Is this for me?" She pointed to the dark blue boutonnière that was sat in his pocket and he looked down at it before taking it out.

"Yeah... I was gonna wait till you got into your dress to put it on though." He looked down at his hands as Evie took a step away from him, and she smiled sweetly at him for a moment. Abruptly, she grabbed his forearm and dragged him into the room, closing the door behind them, "What's going on?"

"Shh." She pressed her finger to her lips, quietening him as she stood seriously close to him, almost stepping on the toe of his black brogues and he nodded, his mouth tightly closed shut, "Unzip me, please."

She spun around on her heels and pulled her hair over her shoulder so he could unzip the back of her dress. With a little confusion present on his face, he did as she said and pulled the zipper down, revealing her bare back which sent shivers down his spine.

"Could you, um..." She tapped the straps of her dress with a small smile on her face and he furrowed his brows for a second before obeying without complaint, pulling her straps over her shoulders and down her arms.

"Are you sure you wanna..." He trailed off as she turned around, the only thing covering her chest was the top of the dress that she held up so it wouldn't fall limp, and his eyes went wide as she dropped the dress, his heart beating out of his chest, "Okay, woah!"

She giggled and took a step closer to him, gently pushing into him with her bare chest as she kissed him passionately, causing his heart to race faster than ever. To say that was one of the best days of his life would've been an understatement, and it wasn't even over yet.
