── .✦ "JAY, KEYS, REMOTE." Ben called out to the long-haired boy who was running down the steps first, and the boy turned, catching the items Ben threw to him.
"Wait." Evie stopped them, her hand holding tightly onto Freddie's gloved one, "Something's wrong." She looked at Ben for a moment, and let go of Freddie's hand so she could fix Ben's beanie, pulling it down slightly.
"Oh." Ben was confused, but let her do whatever she wanted, smiling.
"There." She looked him over and nodded, fine with Ben's entire look at that second.
"Shotgun!" Dude called out, and Freddie scrunched his brows towards the mutt that could somehow speak.
"What the hell?" Freddie was freaked out to say the least as he took a fearful step away from the talking dog.
"No, Dude, stay. The Isle is way too dangerous." Carlos reprimanded, pointing at the dog that groaned in defeat.
"Bro, are you talking to a dog?" Freddie asked confused as Evie gasped and Jay and Ben's jaws were dropped.
"Yeah, I know. I'll tell you later." Carlos assured and Freddie shook his head in disbelief, trying to forget what just happened. They all shook off what happened and ran towards the limousine.
"Let's go." Ben said and Freddie opened the door for Evie, allowing her to jump into the long vehicle before climbing in himself.
"Okay. Once we cross the bridge, park under the pier in the old garage. Got it?" Evie asked Jay, who was driving and Carlos was sat in the passenger seat beside Jay.
"Got it." Jay replied, and he began to drive away from the entrance of the school towards the bridge. They crossed the bridge, and made it to the Isle in no time but the entire way there, Evie's leg was bouncing really fast, showing how anxious she was to be back in her childhood home.
Freddie noticed and placed his gloved hand on her leather pants covered thigh to stop her leg from bouncing, and it worked as her cheeks began to redden at the feeling of his strong hand on her thigh. He rubbed his thumb gently across her leg, calming her nerves and she sent a gentle kiss to the side of his head in gratitude.
Jay stopped the vehicle and jumped out, along with everyone else, "Ben, help me with the tarp." Carlos pointed to the pile of tarp at the side of the garage and Ben nodded, running over with him, "Jay."
"Yeah." The long-haired boy grabbed the other side of the tarp, and the five teenagers covered the limo thoroughly so nobody would suspect it was there. But, anyone in their right mind would know that was a limousine, maybe if the tarp was camouflaged, maybe then it would be harder to identify, "I got it."
"It's really weird being back here." Evie muttered to Jay, making sure she was always touching Freddie in the place she felt unsafe, but his presence made her feel comfortable.
"We'll get in and get out." Jay assured her, and she nodded, believing him. Ben walked away from the four that continued to fix the tarp, and he approached a huge tunnel, looking inside.
"Hey, what's in here?" Ben asked them loudly, and they all ran over except for Freddie who stayed behind, covering the back right wheel properly.
"You don't want to know." Jay told him, pulling him away from the tunnel and they walked a bit away as Freddie strolled towards them.
"Hey, guys. Keep it chill, all right? Last thing we need is our parents figuring out we're here." Carlos told Evie and Jay, and they both nodded in response. Carlos jogged away, and they all followed, Freddie at the back as he protected his friends per usual.
They made it to the streets, and they were walking down an alleyway where Evie got tackled by some kids, "Hey. Hey. Stop." She held onto the kid's hand tightly as the kid held her wallet in her hand, looking at her innocently. Freddie watched, ready to intervene when Evie stopped fighting, looking down to the ground for a moment before she let go of the girl's hand, "Just take it. Go on."
Both kids ran off giggling with each other, and Freddie smiled, walking over and placing his hand on Evie's back to guide her towards the other three. Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks, turning to look at him.
"Stop." She told him, and he quickly lowered his hand, a little frightened. He assumed it was because she didn't want him touching her and he was being a little clingy but she just chuckled at his fear, "You're being too much of a gentleman, you gotta be rough and mean. Here." She grabbed his arm and slung it over her shoulders aggressively, beginning to strut towards Carlos, Jay and Ben.
Automatically, Freddie strut too with his hood pulled over his head, and they both looked like an insanely awesome, smug couple, making Jay smirk and Carlos chuckle. They noticed Ben had vanished and Evie groaned, running after the King, the three boys hot on her trail.
They found him attempting to give a handshake to a random, dirty man who growled at him, taking a threatening step forward, "Ben, stop. Just stop." Evie pulled the King back as Freddie put himself in between his best-friend and the angered stranger.
"Why?" Ben asked, confused.
"This isn't a parade, it's the Isle." Evie told him, glancing around to see if anyone was eavesdropping. The man strolled away and Freddie turned around, his hands resting on the back of his head as he stretched.
"Keep your hands in your pockets unless you're stealing." Jay demanded, and Ben nodded, acknowledging what he said.
"You either slouch or strut." Carlos told him, pointing at him.
"And never ever smile." Evie added and Freddie nodded, knowing how hard that would be for the King. All he ever did was smile, or laugh, because the dude was nothing but a bundle of positivity.
"Okay, thanks..." Ben went to thank them but Evie held up her hand, shushing him.
"No. No thank yous and drop the please too. Just... Chill." Evie dropped her shoulders, showing him before she held out her arms, beginning to sing, "Let me tell you something you can really trust. Everybody's got a wicked side." She winked over at Freddie and rested her arm on Ben's shoulder, "I know you think that you can never be like us, watch and learn so you can get it right."
"You need to drag your feet, you need to nod your head." The three VKs danced, showing the two royalties how it was done, and Freddie observed from beside Ben, pulling his hood back just a little so he could see slightly better, "You need to lean back, slip through the cracks. You need to not care."
"Uh, you need to not stare." Carlos patted Ben's cheek and Freddie chuckled from next to the random dude from earlier, leaning against a wooden pole with his arms crossed over his chest.
"You need a whole lot of help."
"You need to not be yourself." Evie told him and Freddie covered his mouth.
"Burn." Freddie prolonged the 'n' as Ben caught Jay looking through his wallet, snatching it back.
"You wanna be cool, let me show you how. You need to break the rules and I can show you how. Once you catch this feeling. Yeah, once you catch this feeling, you'll be chillin', chillin'. Oh! Chillin' like a villain. Chillin'! Chillin' like a villain. Chillin'." They sang in unison, doing a little dance and they moved forward a little, leaving Ben doing the same dance on his own, causing Freddie to have to hold back his laugh, "Hey! Chillin' like... Chillin' like... A villain."
A man walked up with a similar coat to Freddie's and he opened it up to reveal various goodies in his multiple pockets towards Ben, who fell for the trick, "You draw attention when you act like that." Evie pulled Ben back, rolling her eyes, "Let us teach you how to disappear. You look like you would lose a fight to an alley cat. You gotta be wrong to get it right around here." She mimicked a meow, and Freddie found himself melting at her ultimate hotness as she was climbed on the railing beside Ben with Jay and Carlos.
"You need to watch your back, you need to creep around. You need to slide real smooth." They jumped from the railing and Ben attempted to slide, knocking a barrel over in the process, embarrassing himself, "Don't make a sound. And if you want it, take it. And if you can't take it, break it. If you care about your health."
"Seriously, you need to not be yourself." She flipped her hair and grabbed onto Freddie's hand, pulling him over as the five did their dance on the railing in unison, "You wanna be cool, let me show you how. You need to break the rules, I can show you how. Once you catch this feeling."
"Yeah, once you catch this feeling you'll be chillin', chillin'. Oh! Chillin' like a villain. Chillin'! Chillin' like a villain. Chillin'! Chillin' like..."
"I really wanna be bad a lot, and I'm giving it my best shot." Ben strolled over to Freddie, slinging his arm over his shoulder as he sang, "But it's hard being what I'm not."
"Well, if you don't, you're gonna get us caught." Carlos wrapped his arm around Ben's other side, looking off into the distance.
"He's right we gotta stay low key, now show us how bad you can be." Evie approached, her arm around Freddie, speaking to Ben.
"Like this?" The King asked, removing his arm from Freddie's shoulders so he could place a pair of sunglasses that he stole from that guy with the coat on his face.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah." Evie sang.
"Like this?" Ben repeated, passing another stolen good to Jay, and Freddie, shocking them both, "Oh, yeah. I think I got this. Let's go. I'm ready to rock this. And I ain't gonna thank you for your help. I think I found the worst in myself."
The five strutted down the alleyway, arm in arm, "You wanna be cool, let me show you how. You need to break the rules, and I can show you how. Once you catch this feeling."
"Yeah, once you catch this feeling, you'll be chillin', chillin'. Oh! Chillin' like a villain. Chillin'! Chillin' like a villain. Chillin'! Chillin' like a villain. Chillin'! Chillin' like a villain. Chillin'! Hey! Chillin' like a villain." They finished, and Ben went dancing forward as Freddie quickly moved some hair from Evie's face, causing her to blush but she never smiled, no matter how much she wanted to.
Ben accidentally bumped into a dude, startling them, "Hey, man. Hey. Hey, I know you. And you." The guy pointed at Freddie, who pulled his hood forward with a roll of his eyes.
"Uh, no. Don't know you either, man." Ben responded in a cool tone, but the guy wasn't having it.
"Uh, yeah, you do. Come on, man. Really? Huh? Dude, I'll give you a hint. My dad is quick, slick and his neck... huh...! is incredibly thick." He pointed to his thick neck and a lightbulb turned on in Freddie's head: Gaston's son, "Come on, man..."
He looked away, and pointed at a poster on the wall of King Ben and Mal which they all looked over at as the dude put two and two together, looking between Ben and the poster.
"Huh? Huh. Oh, you're King Ben!" The guy spoke loudly in realisation and Freddie mentally facepalmed.
"Okay. I don't think so." Ben replied and Evie and Carlos dragged Ben away, Freddie and Jay following after them.
"Yeah. You totally are King Ben and that's Prince Frederic. Oh! And you're Jay, Carlos, Evie. Hey, guys." He seemed like a pretty nice dude to Freddie, but he couldn't let him know that he thought that about him, so they all ran off down the alley, Freddie at the back in a protective manner.
"Come on." Jay picked up a rock from atop a trash can, and threw it towards a yellow sign that said 'DANGER FLYING ROCKS' on the front of it, causing a gate to open up leading to a set of stairs. They all made their way towards the steps and watched as Ben cautiously walked up them on his own before stopping and looking back at them.
"Wish me luck."
"All the way up." Jay pointed and Ben looked up with a sigh towards the long, tall staircase, continuing to walk up them.
"Good luck." Evie told him, taking one step up the stairs with a sigh and she leaned onto the railing as Carlos sat on a barrel and Freddie looked around for any eavesdroppers. It was a matter of waiting now for Mal to come down so they could go home.
