── .✦ IT WAS FAMILY DAY, and Freddie decided to take a trip back to his home Kingdom of Corona. Not only because he missed his parents, he missed his friends too, along with his dog — Ember, the family Dalmatian.

Of course he was upset, and a little bitter about the fact that nobody contacted him to see how he was doing or if he was even alive, not even his parents, but he wouldn't mention it. A lot of the time, Freddie just kept his thoughts and feelings to himself, so he was used to bottling it all inside, maybe that was why he got angry so easily.

He jumped off of his black BMW R 1250 GS motorcycle and pulled off his helmet to reveal his messy hair and tired look. Almost immediately, multiple locals noticed who he was and gathered around to say hello or to take photos of him. He didn't mind like some people would, he actually enjoyed greeting others.

"How's school going?" A random elderly lady asked from between the crowd and he grinned as he walked towards his castle — he wouldn't exactly call it home.

"It's been amazing, thanks for asking." Freddie waved one last time before he entered the doors of the castle, and the butler immediately escorted him to the kitchen where his parents were sat drinking tea with some friends.

He entered the room, and they didn't seem to hear as they continued to chat, so he just walked over to the counters and placed his helmet on the island carefully before pulling off his gloves as he listened to their conversation.

"Yes, yes, that's a brilliant idea, dear." Rapunzel sipped on her tea with a smile before she jumped at the sense of someone kissing her atop her head. She looked up to come face to face with her son, and she smiled wide, "Oh, Frederic!"

"Hey, mom, dad." He grinned towards them both, but only his father wasn't smiling. He was just glaring at him through his glasses, causing Freddie to falter slightly, Rapunzel noticed his smile drop and she looked over at her husband.

"Stop it, Eugene. This can wait until our friends have left." She told him, and he nodded curtly, looking down to his cup in thought. Freddie looked around confused before walking over to the kitchen to place the kettle back on the stove to boil.

"Should we go?" The woman asked, glancing between the three royal family members and Eugene just shrugged whilst Rapunzel winced with an apologetic smile.

"I'm so sorry, Grace. Would we be able continue this chat another day?" The blonde asked and Grace nodded eagerly with a grin.

"Of course, Zelly." Grace stood from the chair and leaned over to hug the Fitzherbert woman with a kiss to her cheek. The older couple said their goodbyes to the King and Queen before they left, leaving the family to talk seriously.

"So, you wanna tell us what's been going on?" Eugene asked, crossing his arms over his chest as he leaned against a nearby wall and Rapunzel gave him a warning look before smiling at her son.

"No pressure." The blonde assured him but Freddie was nothing but confused. He didn't even know what they were talking about, "You seem frazzled, I'll explain. We received a letter explaining that for Ben's first official proclamation, he invited four villain kids to stay in Auradon. Did you know anything about this?"

"Sorta, I suppose. What's the issue?" Freddie just shrugged, turning around to take the screaming kettle from the stove so he could pour it into his coffee grounds that were in a white cup.

"Are you kidding me, Frederic?" Eugene pulled his glasses from his eyes in rage, chucking them onto the table as he walked towards his son, but Rapunzel pushed him back gently with her hand pressed against his chest, telling him no.

"What? I've met the kids, they're amazing people, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, Father." Freddie spoke respectfully, but no matter how much respect he showed, the man was still enraged by the facts he was learning.

"Okay, calm down, Eugene. I think we should talk about this civilly. Who are their parents?" Rapunzel asked in a soft tone, and Freddie looked over at her with a thankful smile.

"Cruella de Vil, Jafar, Evil Queen and Maleficent." He shrugged, turning around again to stir his coffee, but he was aggressively shoved away just as he turned by his father.

"I've had enough! Get out! How could you ever decide to invite people who are related to evil women like her to your school? Is there something seriously wrong with you? Endangering all of those innocent, defenceless kids?" Eugene yelled, pointing at the door and Freddie quickly nodded, exiting the room as quickly as possible.

Out of all the ways he guessed that could have gone, that wasn't on his list... or on anyone's list for that matter.

WHEN FREDDIE ARRIVED back at school, he entered the garden after changing into his purple suit. He was a little bummed that he missed the sing-song by Ben but he pushed that aside, and smiled at everyone he passed on his way towards his best-friend that was playing croquet with everyone else.

"Yo." Jay waved at Freddie who stuffed his hands in his pockets on his way over, and Ben looked over with a grin.

"What's up?" Freddie asked, standing beside Ben, who was too excited to even notice his best-friend's slightly sad tone.

"Nothing much. I introduced Mal to my parents, I think they like her." Ben grinned from ear-to-ear and Freddie sent him a raised brow in shock.

"Seriously? That's surprising considering how judgmental your dad is." Freddie joked and the three laughed lightly until they were quickly cut off by Queen Leah, Sleeping Beauty's mother yelling.

"You! How are you here? And how have you stayed so young?" The woman asked Mal as she held onto Audrey's hand tightly and Fairy Godmother quickly rushed over to stop the commotion.

Ben walked over with Evie close behind, and he held onto Mal's arms with a smile, "Queen Leah, it's okay. Maleficent is still on the island. This is her daughter, Mal. Don't you remember my proclamation to give the new generation a chance?"

"A chance to what, Ben? Destroy us? Come on. You remember, don't you?" Leah turned around, asking Fairy Godmother, who held her hands out to the older woman, "The poisoned apples? And the spells? The spells. My daughter was raised by fairies because of your mother's curse. So, her first words, her first steps, I missed it all.You mustn't trust her."

She crossed her arms over her chest and turned around to walk away, but Mal held her hand out to stop her in her tracks, "Hey, I'm so..."

"Go away! Stay away from her!" Chad stood in the way, a croquet stick in his hand and Freddie rolled his eyes before he walked over, his hands balled into fists by his sides.

"Don't do this, Chad." Ben warned, standing in front of his purple-haired girlfriend protectively.

"What? They were raised by their parents, Ben. What do you think villains teach their kids? Huh?" Chad got close to Ben's face and Freddie only got angrier by the minute.

"Freddie." Evie called out to the boy, who ignored her as he strolled over, watching cautiously. She knew what he was going to do, what he promised to do, and she honestly wasn't going to stop him.

"Kindness? Fair play? No way, okay? Uh-uh. You stole another girl's boyfriend." Chad told Mal threateningly, and that was when Fredde began to have enough of Chad's bullshit, "And you enjoy hurting people." He pointed in Jay's direction before looking over at Evie, "And you, you're nothing but a gold digger and a cheater."

"Well, someone messed up." Freddie spoke as he got close, and he leaned his fist back before throwing it into Chad's face, knocking him to the floor. Everyone began to scream, and Evie ran over, spraying some blue perfume in his face, causing the Charming boy to fall asleep in Doug's arms.

"Chad! Chad!" Audrey yelled worriedly and Ben held Freddie back as Evie walked over towards Mal, "Wake up. Check if he's okay." Lonnie walked over and the three teens patted Chad's face to try and wake him up but it never worked, he was still breathing though.

"Come on, Mal." Evie told her friend, pulling her away from the scene. Ben noticed and yelled over at them.

"Guys!" He called out but the four villain kids just ran away as Ben held his best-friend back.

"Chad, wake up!" Audrey yelled again, and soon the Charming boy woke up from his short sleep, blinking continuously.

"Try any of that again, and you won't ever wake up." Freddie told Chad before he stormed off in the opposite direction of where the VKs went, and sat down under a tree on the grass, his back against the trunk.

After about half an hour, a bunch of kids were gathered nearby including the four Isle kids on a bench and Evie was watching Freddie closely as he sat with his knees up and his elbows propped up on his knees, his palms in his face.

"Hey, guys." Ben walked over to them with a smile as he clapped his hands together, standing beside a miserable Jay, "How is everyone? Yeah? Hey, listen. Forget about it. All right? It was nothing. Forget about it. Let it go." He told them as he moved to stand beside Mal, his hands placed firmly on her shoulders, "Tomorrow, after the coronation, I promise everything will be okay. I have to go." He whispers the last sentence in Mal's ear and kissed the side of her head before he went to walk off towards his best-friend, "I'll see you guys later."

Freddie didn't hear the footsteps of Ben nearing him, all he was focused on was how his visit home went. It went worse than he could ever imagine, and he literally had nobody to talk to about it, even if he didn't want to talk about it.

"Hey, bud." Ben knelt down in front of the darker-haired prince who was too busy in his own mind to respond, and he placed his hand on his shoulder, shaking him a little gently, "How're you feeling?...No? Not gonna talk? Well, okay, I'll be back."

Ben pushed himself up on his knees, and he walked off, continuously looking back at Mal and Freddie on his way. Doug walked over to the table, his suit jacket held over her back, "Listen, Evie, I wanna talk about earlier today. I just..."

"Doug!" Chad yelled, making Freddie finally pull his hands from his face with a glare in the prince's direction, watching him like a hawk.

"It's my fault, Doug. I'm so sorry." Evie apologised kindly, calming Freddie down ever so slightly with her soft spoken voice.

"No, it's mine." Doug responded in a hushed tone.

"Doug!" Chad repeated, standing up from the table and he was getting on Freddie's nerves, again.

"What?" Doug looked back at the Charming who didn't respond with words, only with a warning look that told Doug all he needed to know.

"Doug..." Evie pleaded.

"Sorry. I can't." Doug shook his head, walking away to sit on the table Chad was sat on with Audrey, Lonnie and a few other girls, causing Evie to push her food tray away from her in frustration.

"How long does she think that's gonna last? Mal's just the bad girl infatuation." Audrey bullied as she walked by with Jane by her side, laughing at everything she says like a little minion, annoying Freddie to his core. So, he finally stood up from the tree and strolled over to the table tiredly.

"Yeah. I mean, he's never gonna make a villain a Queen." Jane teased in a mean tone, leaning down next to Mal's face and Freddie raised his hand sarcastically as he sat down between Evie and Carlos.

"I would." He chipped in, and the two girls laughed evilly, walking away from the table. Mal opened up her spell book in anger, and began to move her index finger around.

"Beware, forswear, undo Jane's hair." Mal spelled and Jane screamed, her hair turning back into her original Willy Wonka haircut from the week prior. All of the girls around laughed humiliatingly except for Lonnie, who checked her hair to see if it had changed. Mal stood up along with Evie and turned to look at them, "There's a lot more where that came from."

"Excuse me, who do you think you are?" Audrey placed a hand on her hip with a nasty unattractive attitude that made Freddie grimace.

"Do I look like I'm kidding?" Mal asked, and when nobody responded like she wanted them to, she opened her book back up, flipping through the pages and successfully scaring them all away. She smiled and turned around, looking at Evie, "I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. Uh, we'll see you around, Freddie."

With that, Mal smiled and walked off from the table, Jay and Carlos hot on her tail. Evie stayed back, and sat back down on the bench, her back leaning against the table, she was silent for a moment, staring at the grass as he looked into her eyes, trying to gain any information he could get about why she was staying back until she began to speak.

"Thanks for protecting me, nobody's ever done that." Evie blushed, fiddling with her black nails as Freddie smiled at her.

"Yeah, well, the bruises were worth it." He balled his fist a couple times and winced at the pain he experienced when he bent his knuckles, and Evie shook her head at him, sort of unbelieving that he did something so dumb.

"You're so dumb, yet you're so smart. I don't get it." She giggled and he shrugged, she reached over and took his damaged hand in hers, inspecting the injuries, "This'll need some ice. Come." She pulled him up from the table roughly, and he groaned loudly.

"Ow!" He screamed out in pain, but he never pulled his hand away from hers as her face filled with concern, worry and apology.

"Oh, I'm so sorry." She cried out, her free hand tracing along his jaw and he grinned at the feeling of her soft hand on his face, the pain instantly vanishing.

"It's okay." He replied with a smile and she giggled, gently dragging him away towards her dorm where she'd put ice on his knuckles as she rambled all about her dress for tomorrow.
