── .✦ IN CHEMISTRY later that afternoon, Freddie sat staring at Chad with pure hatred as Evie sat across from the pair beside Doug searching through her red purse, clearly struggling to find something.
"Looking for something?" Mr. Deley asked suspiciously, and Evie looked up from her bag, closing it quickly with a curt nod in his direction. He held up a tiny golden mirror and her jaw dropped slightly, causing Freddie to look over at her in confusion, "Thank you, Chad. It's gratifying to see someone still respects the honour code." Chad smiled proudly at Evie as she glared back, her head tilted in rage, "It will be my recommendation that you are expelled."
"Mr. Deley, I..." Evie tried to reason when Doug stood up, cutting her off.
"But that isn't fair. Obviously she wasn't cheating since she didn't have that... Whatever it is." Doug tried to defend his newfound friend after seeing the angered look on Freddie's face, he looked as if he was about to kill Chad, and that assumption was pretty believable.
"It's called a magic..."
"You're not helping, stop." Doug shut her up, before looking back over at Mr. Deley, "Maybe she needed another pencil."
"Actually, I was..."
"Really. Don't help." Doug told the blue-haired beauty, "Please." He pleaded calmly with the teacher, who thought about it for a second before pointing at the paper on the desk.
"Well, if you can pass this test, I'll return your property and let the matter drop." Mr. Deley told her, and she smiled immediately after hearing his offer, Doug mouthing a 'thank you' to him.
Freddie sat with his fists curled up tightly beside Chad, watching him like a hawk. He promised himself he was going to knock the prince out later on, there was no doubt about that. Chad raised his brows with a smug smile in Doug and Evie's direction, and Evie glared again, showing him her pure anger. Doug patted her arm, and she shook her head, releasing her hard frown.
"I'm going to kill you." Freddie mumbled to Chad, whose smile dropped as he shuffled his chair away from him, to be completely honest, the prince believed him. It was possible it could happen.
To relax his mind after the anger he inherited in Chemistry, Freddie sat at one of the lunch tables after school, sketching Evie's tiara in his sketchpad as he listened to music on his headphones. Suddenly, a sheet of paper was placed in front of his face, and he looked it over to find 'Evie' as the name with a big red 'B+' at the top of the booklet — and then his headphones were placed around his neck as Evie began to speak.
"For the first time it's like I'm more than just a pretty face." Evie joked, but Freddie didn't find it funny as he looked up at her.
"You've always been more than a pretty face, didn't you know?" Freddie chuckled, and she placed the booklet down on top of his sketchpad page as she sat down beside him, her back against the bench table.
"Well done for keeping your calm, I know Chad made you lose control." Evie smiled at him and he nodded, taking his headphones from his neck and placing them on the table beside his water bottle.
"You too." He praised her back in return, and she giggled before looking back at her finished test.
"I bet I can get an "A" on the next test without the mirror." She pressed her finger to the page, looking into Freddie's eyes with a sweet smile and he nodded.
"I have zero doubts about that." He replied, causing her smile to become even wider with glee, and Freddie felt his cheeks redden and his leg bounce as he stared at her oh so beautiful smile.
"So, about what you said earlier, I'd love to—"
"There you are!" Mal walked over, cutting her friend off, "I have been looking everywhere for you, literally everywhere!"
"What's wrong?" Evie asked, and they both looked over at the panicked purple-haired girl, who slapped her hands onto the table beside Freddie.
"Ben just asked me out on..." She quickly looked away with a huge sigh before looking back over at the two, "A date." She finished through gritted teeth and they both chuckled at her statement. Freddie knew it was coming, it was only a matter of time before Ben got too excited and went too far.
"We can handle this, and you are helping. Come on." Evie grabbed Freddie's hand, pulling up from the table and he sighed before nodding, not even attempting to protest knowing he'd get nowhere, and he literally couldn't say no to Evie. He gathered all of his things with speed, chucking them all into his backpack as Evie spoke to Mal, "You're looking a little pale..."
"Well, yeah, of course."
"...but I can fix that with some gloss and some blush." They began to walk away, and Freddie trailed behind with his phone in hand, messaging Ben, "Mal, I can use the..."
"No, no, no."
"Don't be scared."

EVIE BRUSHED the blush onto Mal's face gently on Mal's bed as Freddie sat on Evie's bed across from them in silence, sketching in his sketchpad per usual, occasionally looking up and watching them intently.
"Okay. Easy on the blush. I don't want to scare him away." Mal laughed as she pushed Evie's hand away from her face and Evie didn't obey as she moved her hand back over, brushing more blush onto the purple-haired girl's face, "Not that I could."
"Yeah, he's obsessed with you, plum." Freddie nicknamed with a chuckle as he sketched the tiara, and Mal knowingly looked at Evie. That wasn't what they meant, well it was, but it also wasn't.
"Please. My mom taught me how to apply blush before I could talk." Evie smiled, applying more blush to the pale girl's face, "Always use upward strokes."
"My mom was never really big on make-up tips." Mal stated and Freddie nodded, finally looking up from his led covered page.
"Neither was mine, even though I'd love to learn how to wear some beautiful bright red lipstick." Freddie joked and Evie giggled over at him as she tapped lip gloss onto Mal's lips.
"I'll teach you." She winked subtly, and he smirked before quickly looking down at his page again, feeling his heart begin to race.
"I've never had a sister." Mal smiled, her mouth open as Evie tapped her lips.
"Well, now you do. We're gonna need all the family we can get if we don't pull this off. My mother's not a barrel of laughs when she doesn't get her way. Just ask Snow White." Evie rolled her eyes and Freddie snorted.
"Damn." He reacted, quietly chuckling under his breath.
"Are you afraid of her?" Mal asked innocently as Evie placed the lip gloss back down on the bed, relaxing slightly.
"Sometimes. Are you afraid of your mom?" Evie asked Mal, and Freddie chuckled again.
"Yes." He muttered, causing the two girls to laugh before Mal began to answer the question intended for her.
"I just really want her to be proud of me. She gets so angry with me when I disappoint her. And... Yeah, she's my mom, so I know she loves me in her own way." Mal looked off into the floor, thinking deeply as Freddie looked sadly at the tip of his pencil. He hadn't seen his parents in so long he was worried they forgot his existence, they hadn't even called, not even a text message.
Evie placed her hand on Mal's with a comforting smile, "Moving on. Come see." She pulled Mal up from the bed and Freddie looked up from his pencil towards the two girls with a small smile.
"Are we done?" Mal questioned as they walked towards the mirror.
"Yeah." Mal looked into her reflection, seemingly shocked by what she saw looking back at her, and she fiddled with her leather jacket before laughing and Evie skipped over, hugging her from behind, "I know."
"I look..." Mal trailed off as she stared at herself.
"Say it."
"Not hideous." The purple-haired villain kid held tightly onto her jacket as she leaned into the side of Evie's head.
"Not even close." Evie added and Freddie stood from the bed with a large stretch, smiling at the two girls who were practically sisters at that point. They both giggled and Evie walked away towards Freddie, giving him two thumbs up and he nodded in return.
A knock was heard at the door and Mal opened it with a sigh to reveal Ben in a dark blue polo underneath his varsity jacket holding two blue, yellow and white helmets. He looked her up and down with shock and pure awe before he began to speak.
"For the first time, I understand the difference between pretty and beautiful." Ben complimented and Mal snorted as Freddie chuckled from the bed, catching Ben's attention.
"What a melt." He joked, causing Evie to giggle and Ben's eyebrow faltered slightly as he smiled at his best-friend before he looked back over at the girl he loves.
"I hope you like bikes." Ben told Mal, who smiled before walking over to him, taking a helmet from under one of his arms, she turned around and gave Evie and Freddie a nervous look before walking off, Ben following after her.
Evie skipped over, watching them walk down the hallway before she slowly closed the door with a huge smile on her face. She turned around quickly on her heels, looking straight at Freddie, and she squealed, skipping over to him and she sat down beside him on the bed.
"So, what have you been so busy drawing?" She leaned on her hands as she loved over at his page to see a heavenly sketched tiara on the page which made her eyes widen and her heart beat out of her chest, "Woah..."
Freddie laughed, looking over at her with a smile, "I don't know if you remember, but when Bennyboo introduced me, he said I designed crowns. Well, I design tiaras too, personalised ones, and I made this for you."
"It's gorgeous, Freddie." She stared mesmerisingly at the sketch in awe as Freddie stared directly at her, a smirk plastered onto his face, "It really screams me."
"Well, I'm glad. That's what I was going for." Freddie chuckled and quickly closed his sketchpad, bringing Evie from her stare and her eyes snapped up to his dark eyes, causing her to smile, "Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are?"
Evie giggled lightly, looking down at her nails as her cheeks reddened and her heart raced, "Who's the melt now?" She asked, causing them both to laugh, but there was no awkwardness as they looked back up at each other. A few moments of silence passed before Evie grinned, "Wanna watch a movie? I found this device thingy in my nightstand and apparently you can watch movies on it! How cool is that?"
She leaned over to her nightstand and grabbed the iPad, and Freddie chuckled at her comment, but he was also pretty saddened by the fact that kids on the Isle didn't even have a childhood, they literally lost it, and it wasn't even their fault
"Sure." Freddie smiled at her as she swiped up on the screen, typing in some numbers as the password before she pressed on an app and scrolled through the different movies they could watch.
"Hmm... I've never even watched a movie before, Lonnie taught me everything." Evie giggled, slightly embarrassed by the fact that she didn't know anything but Freddie didn't find it embarrassing as he just watched her swipe on the screen with a small smile, "Ooh! What about this movie called Harry Potter?"
"100%. I'll be right back, I'ma just grab some popcorn from the kitchen." Freddie placed his sketchpad on the bed and jumped up, rushing out of the room towards the kitchen.
After he left, Evie couldn't help but stare at the abandoned book, she was so curious about what he'd sketched, and she knew it was wrong, but she was used to doing things that weren't right to do. She placed the tablet down cautiously before carefully picking up the book, opening it up to the first page.
As she flipped through the pages, she fell for Freddie even more as she admired the beautiful sketches of various jewellery. He was so creative, just like her, and it made her smile wide as her eyes fluttered close, getting in the feels.
"There I was again tonight, forcing laughter, faking smiles. Same old tired, lonely place." She began to sing as she flipped through the various pages of beautiful sketches, "Walls of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy, vanished when I saw your face."
When she got to the current page Freddie was sketching in, she closed the book gently, holding it to her chest with a loving smile, "All I can say is it was enchanting to meet you." She placed the book on the book and placed both of her hands by her hips on the bed, leaning back to look up at the ceiling, "Your eyes whispered "Have we met?". Across the room, your silhouette starts to make its way to me."
"The playful conversation starts, counter all your quick remarks like passing notes in secrecy." She drawled out the 'y' as she pushed herself up off of the bed and she leaned onto the bed frame pole as she thought about him, "And it was enchanting to meet you. All I can say is I was enchanted to meet you."
She pushed off of the pole as the chorus began and she began to twirl around the room, "This night is sparkling, don't you let it go. I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home. I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you."
Evie slowed down, her hair falling down her back as she stared at herself in the mirror with a smile, "The lingering question kept me up. 2am, who do you love? I wonder til I'm wide awake. And now I'm pacing back and forth, wishing you were at my door, I'd open up and you would say: Hey, it was enchanting to meet you. All I know is I was enchanted to meet you."
"This night is sparkling, don't you let it go. I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home. I'll spend forever wondering if you knew." She brushed her fingertips over his jacket that was lying over her bed, and she slowly picked it up, bringing it to her nose with a smile, "This night is flawless, don't you let it go. I'm wonderstruck, dancing around all alone. I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you."
She flung herself around the room gracefully, holding onto the jacket tightly as if she was dancing with Freddie, but that only existed in her dreams... right?, "This is me praying that this was the very first page, not where the storyline ends. My thoughts will echo your name until I see you again. These are the words I held back as I was leaving too soon, I was enchanted to meet you."
Slowly, she sat back down on the bed, placing the jacket in her lap with a sad look, "Please don't be in love with someone else, please don't have somebody waiting on you. Please don't be in love with someone else, please don't have somebody waiting on you." Evie stood back up, placing his jacket back where she found it before spinning on her heels again, the ends of her skirt floating around, "This night is sparkling, don't you let it go. I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home. I'll spend forever wondering if you knew..."
"This night is flawless, don't you let it go. I'm wonderstruck, dancing around all alone. I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you." She sat back down on the bed, and she laid down, looking up at the white ceiling with a soft expression, "Please don't be in love with someone else, please don't have somebody waiting on you..."
Suddenly, the door opened and Evie quickly sat up, picking up the tablet as she pretended to read something on the screen, and Freddie smiled as he closed the door behind him holding a huge bowl of popcorn in one of his hands, "Here you go, madame."
He passed her the bowl and she gave him a confused look, "What is this? Popcorn?" He nodded in response and she slowly picked up a piece of the buttered popcorn, inspecting it before she popped it into her mouth, her eyes lighting up immediately, causing Freddie to laugh, "Yum!"
