The deeper they dug, the more they uncovered the terrifying truth—the Commission, a secret agency run by a ruthless woman known as the Handler, was behind it all. But this organization did more than just murder people; they controlled time itself. Their job was to protect the timeline by eliminating anyone or anything that could change the future, no matter how small the threat.

After years of painstaking investigation, Betty's parents were on the brink of exposing the Commission's sinister operations. They infiltrated the organization, posing as agents, gathering evidence that could blow the lid off the whole operation. But just as they were ready to reveal everything, the Commission struck back in the worst way possible. Instead of simply killing them, the Handler ordered their complete erasure from existence. Not just their deaths—every trace of their lives, every memory of them in the world, was wiped out. They were erased as if they had never been.

The Commission tested a powerful new weapon on Betty's parents, a device meant to erase people from time entirely. When they tried to use it on Betty too, something went wrong. The machine malfunctioned. The Handler believed Betty had been erased, but she wasn't. Instead, her life became a shattered puzzle, her memories splintered across different timelines. The people she once knew forgot her, as if she'd never existed. With no one left to turn to, Betty found her way to her uncle Elliott, her mother's only brother.

Elliott, a man who clung to outlandish theories like lifelines, took her in. At first, he struggled to believe her wild stories, but when Betty showed him the only keepsake she had left—a picture of her parents in a locket—he knew she was telling the truth. Determined to bring back his sister's memory and unravel the mystery behind her disappearance, Elliott threw himself into researching the Commission, dragging Betty along in his quest. For Betty, revenge became the only thing that kept her going.

As years passed, Betty began experiencing terrifying visions. In these visions, she found herself in different places, living different lives that felt real, yet distant. It was like she was inhabiting other versions of herself across timelines, each vision more disorienting and painful than the last. These episodes were accompanied by excruciating headaches and left her confused and terrified. Elliott theorized that when the Commission's machine malfunctioned, it didn't fully erase her—it scattered her existence across time. Each vision was a glimpse into these fragmented timelines, versions of herself that were slowly being pulled apart. And with every vision, she was one step closer to disappearing from reality entirely.

Betty tried to accept her fate, believing that one day she would simply vanish. But Elliott refused to give up. He searched for answers in the strangest places, hoping to find someone or something that could help. Then, one day, a strange boy appeared in their living room out of thin air. He introduced himself as Five—a time traveler—

Five knew from the moment he laid eyes on Betty that something was off. He had seen plenty of strange things in his time-traveling life, but Betty was different, there was something beneath the surface that made his instincts buzz with unease. As he observed her, the pieces began to click into place. She was a living, breathing temporal anomaly, a glitch in time itself. Her mere existence threatened to unravel the delicate threads of reality.

The confrontation between them was tense, with Five's sharp tongue clashing against Betty's desperation. She was angry—angry that she'd been dealt this hand, angry that no one had answers, and furious that this smug, bitter boy from the future acted like he knew everything. But behind the anger was fear. She didn't want to disappear. She didn't want to be erased like her parents had been. She just wanted to survive.

As much as Five hated getting involved in other people's messes, he couldn't ignore the fact that if she vanished, it could have catastrophic consequences for the timeline. And the more he dug into her story, the more he realized that saving Betty wasn't just about her—it was about stopping something far bigger, something that could bring about the end of everything.

Reluctantly, Five agreed to help Betty, though not without his usual sarcastic grumbling. For all his claims of not needing anyone's help, Betty ended up being more useful than he'd expected. She was sharp, quick on her feet, and more determined than he gave her credit for. In return, she found herself helping him too—tracking down leads, avoiding assassins, and even assisting in his plan to reunite with his family and stop the apocalypse.

They made an odd but surprisingly effective pair.
