    ✧˖*°࿐𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐓𝐄, 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐝, 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤....

   In this ship that floats in space over earth, in the ocean of darkness that was decorated with stars that twinkle in this space.

   Its halls were empty, the sound of beeping computer noises were heard in a room that was sealed by metal doors. Alone who stood in front was a girl, she wore a blue dress and headband that was behind her bangs.

   Her eyes look at the metal door with excitement and nervousness because her grandfather had call her over saying-—

"They're ready."

   He said through the hologram of himself. 

   She remembers to herself how she shivered at the soft yet gruff voice of his as an old man. She knows how serious he's been during his work and when she needs to be taken care off...

   Her disease.... Her grandfather told her he promised her a cure, a hope, so she can be freely and happy down there, on a planet called Earth.

   Oh what a place she dreamt off of seeing. She always looked down at the planet with wonders in her eyes that beamed, she always read books and seen pictures of what Earth looks like down there.

   Greens of trees and grass that covers lands, big blues of waters, and many species of animals that look either cute or scary.

   But overall she always wish to go down there... The girl Maria.

   But here she is. Standing in front of doors inside a ship that just hovers in space... Above Earth.

   She stood there for not too long because the doors hissed opened, opening up to a lab. It was dimmed with barley any lighting to see, but beeping sounds are heard in the room.

   Maria walks in as her eyes looks around the dark lab to not spoil herself yet to see the new experiments.

   Before she walked in further she stops and looks with shock seeing two glass tubes. Big with room for two animals.... That look more human.

   One on the right was a black hedgehog with red stripes that marks on the ends of his quills, arms, and legs. He floats in the tube with a face mask on his muzzle to keep him breathing, tubes and wires that were in his body. 

   And the other, a cat. They floated too but with more wires in them, they had a f/c (fur color) fur and markings that were f/c (a different fur color) too. 

   Both of the animals are resting? Sleeping? Oh well Maria became excited as she walks to her grandfather.

"Grandfather! Is this them?"

"Yes, it is."

   He said. Doing a small turn to look to his side to see Maria looking at the hedgehog with excitement and then the cat with the same excitement too. 

"They look... Wonderful."

"I made them for you Maria, to help you of this curse of a disease and play with you more."

"Really? Play? Thank you so much grandfather!"

   He chuckles quietly at her happiness. But then suddenly the hedgehog slightly opens his eyes, showing red pupils.

"He's waking up? Odd."

   Maria gasp quietly, that was soon replace with a small smile, she walks up to the tube, with curiosity and excitement. For the hedgehog, he was barely awake and tired, looking at the girl with confusion of who she is.

   He watched her walk and stop in front of him with a soft smile.

"You can name them too if you want."

"..."

  Maria was in silence of awe at the hedgehog. Maria places a hand on the glass, still and softly to jot aggressively approach and scare the hedgehog.

   His hands. Gosh his hands were slightly bigger than hers, he followed her movements though and places his on the other side of hers, behind the glass. 

"His name shall be Shadow. Because he follows my movement like a shadow! I think it's a splendid name for him, fitting too for his dark fur."

   Maria chuckles brightly. Not scaring the hedgehog—Shadow, but making him feel warmth on his chest, that he follows more her movement like head tilting.

   Her smile was the first thing that has now imprinted in his mind, his red eyes begging for more of her smile by how calm he felt. He watches her turn to the other tube beside which he did not realized who was there.

   He looks to the side to see the cat waking up too. Slowly opening their eyes then close them back down when Maria walks to them.

   Shadow wanted to puff his cheeks in annoyance of them getting the attention and how they gave Maria a bit of an attitude.

   Maria simply smiled at the cat who now rested, placing her hand on their glass too.

"I think this one should be named, Y/n."

"Y/n and Shadow.... Such lovey names Maria."

   Her grandfather answers. 

   Maria has never felt so happy, so happy to have new friends finally after all these years up here in space, and have a chance to get to see Earth...

Earth....

"We can all see Earth together and watch many things that happens down there for many hours!! Isn't that right grandfather?"

"Yes. Yes you guys will..."
