THE WRECK RESTAURANT WAS FILLED WITH TENSION, not the good kind of tension though if you know what I mean. I meant the awkward and angry tension, mostly between Kie and John B, as we explained everything that had been happening the past couple of days.
We all sat in a circle as the three Pogues, asked questions about our supposedly rich life.
Kie: "Look, you promised. You said you weren't with her."
JJ: "Bro, just own it. She got you." -he said, slightly seeming annoyed.
Kie: "Look, if you wanna hang out with her, that's fine. But I'm letting you know now that I'm not doing anything with, Sarah."
John B: "Do you guys see her here? No, right. Okay. A little focus will be fantastic, we've got the map, right?" -the guy finished, looking up to, me and JJ.
June: "Have you figure anything out, Pope? Also, why does the map look so weird?"
JJ: "It's out of whack 'cause the guy was gania'd when he drew it." -he replied, all of us taking a look at the old paper sitting on the table.
Kie: "It's 'cause the coast has changed."
JJ, only nodded awkwardly, pretending as if he knew what the girl mentioned. But obviously he didn't, and that's okay cause neither did I.
Pope: "So we just have to look for landmarks that haven't changed." -he requested, making me remember something quickly.
June: "What about the old forts? Dad, used to talk a lot about those."
John B: "Yeah, you're right. Which one's there on the map?"
Kie: "Battery Jasper." -she replied, pointing at the location on the map.
We all stood up from our chairs, running outside to go head straight to the Twinkie.
June: "I've never been there before, is it far away?"
Pope: "Nope, we're actually kinda close." -he responded, all of us continuing to head inside of the van.
________________________________
We had arrived at the location, all of us stood on top of a pair of rocks. Looking out the distance, trying to find our destination point.
Pope: "We're in the Battery, right here. So if this is parcel nine, then it's somewhere northeast of here."
He pointed at the map, my mind was not working properly at this point. I'm not very good at following a map, to be completely honest. I might be Big John's daughter, but I'm just as stupid as, Mom.
June: "I don't know guys, anyone else know?"
Kie: "It's somewhere there." -she replied, pointing at the distance.
Pope: "Right."
June: "Are you like, certain of this?" -I asked, making Pope, nod in approval.
JJ: "Over there? Guy's, that's not Tannyhill, that's a subdivision."
John B: "Tannyhill Plantation, was the entire island. It got sold into smaller pieces over time."
June: "So, what are we exactly supposed to look for? To find that division I guess." -I asked, approaching Pope, to look at the map as well.
Pope: "We're just looking for an old stone wall."
We all opened our eyes widely, noticing the supposed wall Pope, was pointing at. I smiled excitedly, high-fiving the boy. We walked back to the Twinkie, to head straight to that location as soon as possible.
We drove for a while, but fortunately arrived to the location. It was just the same way as it looked like in the map, except there was now a house behind that wall.
June: "Wait, guys? Why is it a house?" -I asked, looking over to the place.
JJ: "That looks like a stone wall to me."
June: "Look over to the distance, dumbass." -I snapped, pointing my finger to make him see.
JJ: "Oh shit."
June: "What? Don't scare me." -I whispered, pulling his hair slightly.
JJ: "I know this place."
We all headed out of the Twinkie, making our way near the large brick wall in front of us. Everyone hesitating to climb up except for John B, who didn't waste a second and began to jump.
Kie and Pope, followed along, the boy going first to help the girl, fall down easily.
Kie: "You guys coming or what?" -she asked, slightly chuckling after seeing us still looking at the house.
June: "Uuhh yeah, we'll be right behind you."
I nodded, looking over to JJ, who I could've sworn had shit his pants over how terrified he was looking.
June: "Alright, what the hell is wrong with you?" -I questioned, proceeding to climb the wall quickly.
He began to climb as well, sitting at the edge of the wall to look over to me.
JJ: "This is probably the worst-case scenario."
June: "Why? It's just an abandoned home." -I whispered, looking back to the Pogues, who walked carefully through the front yard.
JJ: "Haven't you heard the story?"
June: "No, what story?" -I asked, stepping down to later on be followed by JJ, who sighed as he grabbed my wrist to look at me.
JJ: "The story of Mrs. Crain. Many people say, she killed and buried her husband's head on the property."
June: "What?!"
JJ: "Shhh! Don't yell, she might hear you." -he whispered, putting his hand on top of my mouth.
June: "What the hell do you even mean? The house is abandon-"
JJ: "It's not, she still lives inside. Everyone she has asked for help to clean her home, has never come to help. Why? Well, she's terrifying of course."
I glanced towards the home once again, this time feeling terrified over what JJ, told me. Sure it could be just a rumor, but what if it isn't?

POV: Bailey.
Bailey: "Why are you doing this, Barry?"
Barry: "You know what he did, Bailey. He hasn't paid me back, we need that money."
If you're wondering who the hell am I, I'm Bailey Martin, the sister of one of the most known drug dealers of the island, Barry Martin. He's 5 years older than me, currently taking me to fight someone. He's mad about some drug deal, let's just say it didn't went the way he wanted it to go.
Barry: "You weren't supposed to come, I was just borrowing your car."
Bailey: "Borrowing? You literally tried stealing it from me." -I argued, looking at him with crossed arms.
Barry: "You can't even drive, Bailey. Why did Aunt, even let you own her car?"
Bailey: "It was her decision, if you don't like it argue with her not me." -I finished, looking back to the car seat where my daughter was currently sitting at.
I stretched my hand back, taking a hold of her tiny hand. Slightly smiling at the asleep baby, only to feel Barry's stare on me.
Bailey: "What?" -I asked, already knowing where this conversation was gonna go.
Barry: "You know Sheriff Peterkin, is looking for you right? They might take the baby away, Bailey. I'm warning you, sooner or later you'll need to leave the island."
Bailey: "I know that, Barry. But I'm not giving up, she's my daughter! I promised myself I was gonna take care of her, protect her better than how Mom, treated us." -I finished, proceeding to look out the window.
I glanced outside, noticing how we where entering a big home. Questions rooming down my brain as I realized who the home belonged to.
Bailey: "You sold drugs to one of the Cameron's?" -I asked, looking back to the black haired man, almost stunned by what I had realized.
Barry: "Rafe Cameron, he owes me money. Besides, this money is the only way you can get the hell out of here."
Bailey: "Obviously he's not gonna pay you fast enough, Barry. Rich people don't give a shit, remember?"
Barry: "Stay in the car."
He headed out of the car, proceeding to approach the blond boy. This one seeming to get scared as he noticed Barry, approaching him. I only sighed annoyed, looking back to the front. Avoiding to see what my brother, was about to do to the boy.
Bailey: "It's okay, Bails. It's okay, nothing bad is going to happen." -I mumbled to myself, later on hearing a loud noise coming from behind the car.
Soon after, hearing what sounded like grunts and shouting making me head out of the car.
I opened the back door, allowing air to enter the backseats. Quickly running towards Barry, who had the boy's wrist on top of the exhaust of his bike. My mouth opened, as I ran towards Barry, to stop him from hurting, Rafe.
Bailey: "Barry, stop! You don't need to do this!" -I shouted, making him snap his gaze towards me.
Barry: "What did I told you, Bailey! Stay in the damm car!"
Bailey: "Shut the hell up and let's go!" -I snapped, tears filling my eyes as I stormed off.
I closed the door from the backseats, later heading inside the car once again. Covering my face, as I let out loud sobbing. The sound of the car's door opening making me wipe the tears away, hearing Barry, sighing as he entered the vehicle.
Barry: "I'm sorry, Bailey."
Bailey: "Shut the fuck up! Let's just go home. Elena, must be hungry and I forgot her backpack at home." -I mentioned, pushing my hair back as he began to drive off the large home.
________________________________
I quickly headed out of the vehicle, as we arrived back home. I walked towards the small camper, holding Elena, on my arms gently. Hearing behind me Barry's rapid footsteps, only for him to pass by me. He awkwardly reached for the door, helping me to head inside. Later on he walked back towards the car, to get some of his stuff out of the vehicle.
I made my way towards the small living room, placing Elena, on her wooden crib. Half of the things I own for her are made by Barry, he used to work at a wood shop. Thankfully, he knows a lot about that kinda stuff still. I was the only one that made money faster, this due to working as a deliver of packages. But unfortunately I got fired a couple of weeks ago, making me go back to living with, Barry and Aunt Wanda.
I didn't wanted to come back here, what Barry, does for survival is only making this family go downhill. It already has, first with Dad, dying over his history with drug dealing. Second, with Mom, leaving the island completely abandoning us over Barry's problem. The rest of my family is nowhere to be found literally, except for Aunt Wanda, who's stayed in the island due to her condition.
She's been paralyzed for quite a while now, I've never really known why. Barry, decided to keep it a secret with, Aunt. Never telling anyone else but each other, which honestly hurts.
I pecked Elena's forehead, later on placing the small blanket on top of her body. Covering her from the fan's air so she wouldn't get cold. Turning around I almost stumbled back towards the crib, noticing Sheriff Peterkin, looking over to me. My chest rise up pretty fast, over how startled I got.
Bailey: "Oh, Jesus! Sheriff Peterkin! You scared the shit out of me." -I exclaimed, grabbing my chest as I looked at the woman.
Sheriff Peterkin: "Sorry about that, Mrs. Martin. Anyone else home besides you?"
Bailey: "My aunt is on her room, she's paralyzed. My brother is outside, I don't even know what he's doing." -I replied, covering the crib with my body out of instinct.
Sheriff Peterkin: "I'm not here to take your baby away from you, Bailey. I'm here to warn you about what you're doing, you know what's going on right?"
I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself down before continuing to speak to the woman. Fearing what she was about to say, and I wasn't ready to hear it.
Bailey: "I'm hiding from child services, because they want to take away my daughter." -I trembled, looking at the woman who only nodded in agreement.
Sheriff Peterkin: "Yeah, that's right. Well, you see Mrs. Martin, I know you love and care for that child. Trust me I know, because I can see that you do."
Sheriff Peterkin: "But you're a seventeen year old girl, taking care of a baby. You're just a kid taking care of another kid, with no family around.
Bailey: "But I do have family, they're helping me out with, Elena." -I lied, wiping some of my tears away as I looked over to the woman, who only sighed.
Sheriff Peterkin: "Well, yeah, you do have family. Except that one of them is a paralyzed woman, the other one is your drug dealer brother."
I scoffed looking outside through the window of the camper, sitting down in one of the chairs to take a second to breathe. The woman slowly approached me, kneeling down to grab my hand.
Sheriff Peterkin: "I'm sorry that this is happening to you, sweetheart. But you know that that's how the law goes, if I could do something for you I would but unfortunately I can't."
Bailey: "Can't you just tell them that I do get help? That I have a family that takes care of my baby. I don't want to loose her, Peterkin." -I sobbed, making the woman quickly embrace me into a hug.
She took a hold of my face, cleaning some of the tears off my cheeks. Looking over to Elena's crib, exchanging once again glances with me.
Sheriff Peterkin: "Feed your daughter some milk, I'm gonna go head to the station. Stay tough Mrs. Martin, things will get better sooner or later."
She stood up from the floor, later on heading towards the door.
Bailey: "Are you gonna tell them I'm here?" -I asked, with a defeated expression.
Sheriff Peterkin: "No, but I will warn you, sweetheart. They'll find you soon, and you already know how the rest goes."
She finished, heading out the door. Soon after the sound of the vehicle's engine turning on, making me cover my face hiding the loud sobbing escaping my mouth.
My life is filled with obstacles, sadly I've never really been happy. My life was ruined when I was only just a child, and soon after I turned 16 years old it got worse. I was sexually assaulted by someone I thought I could trust, someone who told me I could trust. But unfortunately that wasn't true at all and after he got me pregnant, I told him and he didn't wanted anything with me. Elena, became my hope to continue, she was and still is my light.
That's many of the reasons why I don't want to lose her, she made me stronger and she keeps me alive. If I lose her, I don't know what I will do.

[POV: June.]
WE HAD FOUND WHAT COULD BE WHERE THE GOLD IS, unfortunately on the house we least wanted it to be. Well, technically me and JJ, we were about to shit our pants literally.
Now we had arrived back to The Chรขteau, this time waiting for John B, to arrive home. I wasn't sure where he was at, but for some reason I knew something was up.
June: "So, he didn't told anyone where the hell he was going?" -I asked, sitting down at the small couch from outsides porch.
JJ: "Nope, not at all."
Pope: "I'm sure he'll be back though, don't worry guys." -he mentioned, looking at me with a slight smile forming across his face.
I nodded in agreement, looking back towards the backyard. Suddenly hearing the door from inside opening, followed by a pair of laughter making my eyebrows frown.
I stood up to check what it was, seeing John B and Sarah, arriving inside of The Chรขteau, heading towards us.
June: "Shit." - I mumbled, sighing after realizing where this might be going.
The two headed outside, Sarah, quickly embracing me into a hug. The rest of the Pogues, slightly death staring the both of us.
John B and Sarah, both sat on the small couch. Everybody else exchanging glances to Kie, who already seemed pissed off.
Kie: "No effing way!" -she exclaimed, pacing around the space making everyone sigh.
June: "Kie."
Kie: "No! You brought her here? So what? She's in on this now?" -she asked, looking at John B, angrily.
The brunette one looked over to Pope, for approval. The boy quickly shrugging his shoulders in response to him, making John B look back to, Kie.
JJ: "Look, all I care about is her cut comes out of your share."
June: "Guys, why don't we try to get along for once? Try to end this stupid Pogue vs Kook, thing." -I suggested, making Kie, scoff.
Kie: "June, just stop! You know, I don't remember taking a vote. This is our thing, a Pogue thing."
Pope: "I gotta say, I'm a tad uncomfortable with all of this."
Kie: "Thank you!" -she exclaimed, looking back at John B who argued with, Pope.
I walked towards Pope and JJ, sitting behind the pair only listening to the rest argue. Feeling each time more tired over their bullshit, I just wanted them all to get along but this is way harder than expected.
Kie: "You know we were all extremely comfortable until you brought her."
Sarah: "Stop talking about me like I'm not here!" -she argued, looking back at the curly head, annoyed.
Kie: "Then leave."
Sarah: "I told you." -the girl scoffed, glaring at John B, already seeming to be annoyed by everyone's comments.
Kie: "Told him what, exactly? That you're a liar."
June: "Kie!" -I exclaimed, trying to stop the girl from continuing the argument.
Sarah: "No, that you're a shit-talking bitch!"
The three of us gasped, JJ, quickly handled Pope, some of his money. The both girls continued to yell at each other, making John B and I, lose our patience completely.
John B: "Everybody shut up!"
June: "Thank you!" -I snapped, pointing at John B, as everyone else went completely silent.
John B: "Kie, you're my best friend, right?"
The girl only nodded, rolling her eyes as she heard the boy's question.
John B: "And Sarah, you're... you're my-" -he stuttered, a couple of chuckles coming out of his sentence.
Sarah: "Say it."
John B: "You're my girlfriend."
June: "Well finally you confessed it." -I mumbled, as the rest also scoff slightly annoyed.
Pope: "Ohh...that's new."
June: "Shh, shut up." -I whispered, looking over to Sarah, who had a smile plastered on her face.
Kie: "She's your girlfriend now? What was all that talk about you were just using her for information? Get a map, cut her loose."
I closed my eyes shut, almost fearing for John B's life at that point. Later on, opening them to see Sarah's betrayed expression.
Sarah: "You said you were using me?"
John B: "No." -he lied, everybody disagreeing with his response.
JJ: "This is such bullshit."
John B: "Look, love just walked in, okay?"
Everybody cringed over his response, making Kie, look towards the distance with a disgusted expression formed.
John B: "I didn't expect it. It just...it kinda happened. And I'm not gonna deny it, right?"
Pope: "Oh! That's corny." -he whispered, glancing towards me.
We all stayed sort of quiet for a couple of seconds, waiting patiently for Kie, to change her mind. But that didn't seem to happen, after she began to look over to John B, with an annoyed expression still.
Kie: "Look, cut the bullshit, John B. If she's in, I'm out."
June: "Kie, please don't do this." -I pleaded, looking over to her as she shook her head side to side.
John B: "I'm not gonna do this, I can't!"
Kie: "You're gonna decide. I'm very interested, actually. Me or her?" -she asked, making everybody else look at, John B.
John B: "Both."
June: "Great." -I whispered, placing my forehead on top of JJ's shoulder.
Pope: "Ooh."
JJ: "Went for the Hail Mary." -he whispered, looking at Pope, with an awkward smile.
The curly head, began to walk off from the porch. Leaving everyone else in a full on awkward silence, not knowing what to say.
June: "I'm sorry, Sarah." -I apologized, walking towards the girl.
She then glared at John B, nodding her head with a disappointed smile.
Sarah: "It'll be cool, right?"
June: "Can someone try talking to, Kie?" -I asked, looking over to Pope, who agreed quickly.
Sarah: "I'm gonna leave."
John B: "Sarah, don't." -he mumbled, watching as the girl kept on making her way towards the porch's exit.
June: "I'm gonna walk you out." -I mentioned, placing my hand on her back.
Sarah: "Gonna let y'all chat, let me know."
I followed Sarah, behind. Looking back to the three boys, who's expressions were filled with disappointment.
________________________________
I went back inside The Chรขteau, after leading Sarah, towards the front part of the home. Later on, stumbling across JJ and John B, who talked about what had happened. No sign of Pope or Kie, anywhere else.
June: "So, your girlfriend's really angry right now, same as your best friend. What the hell are you going to do now, John B?" -I asked, approaching the pair.
JJ: "She's right, why is it so hard to make a decision, John B?"
John B: "It's not that simple, you would've understood if you were in my shoes." -he replied, grabbing a couple of water bottles from the fridge passing it to us.
JJ: "It doesn't matter, man. Kie's been there for us this whole time, no matter what. Sarah, has only been part of your life for how long? Four days?"
They boy drank from his water, later on looking at me for approval. I only sighed, not knowing what to say.
June: "Guys, we need to try and make them talk to each other. We need the two of them, I mean it."
The two boys nodded, suddenly looking behind me as the door opened. Pope, stood beside me later on catching a water bottle John B, threw at him.
John B: "What'd she say?"
Pope: "That you're an idiot." -he replied, stepping closer to, JJ and John B.
JJ: "It's a no-brainer. You're picking, Kie."
June: "No, guys. We can't do that, we need both of them."
John B: "Exactly! Look, I can't make a decision." -he stated, making JJ, scoff.
JJ: "So what? We're just dead in the water because you're pussy-whipped?"
June: "Ugh, please don't say that again." -I demanded, looking over to the boy with a cringed expression as he lifted his arms in surrender.
JJ: "Anyways, we can't do this without Kie, and you know it."
John B: "And I can't do it without, Sarah. Okay? They both have to be in on it."
June: "Then what do we even do?" -I asked, glancing at the boy with desperate eyes.
Pope: "I don't even know. So, good luck with that, cause you know how Kie, is."
We all stood silently, trying to come up with something as Pope, searched for something on the fridge. I only looked over to John B, who seemed to be thinking deeply about something.
June: "What's on your mind?"
John B: "You know what? I know this was all my fault, all right? But it's our problem."
June: "You got a plan?" -I asked, watching the boy pass by me to head closer to the hallway.
John B: "Yup, I've got a plan. And you three shitheads are gonna help me out."
The boy walked away, followed by Pope, quickly. JJ and I, only stared at each other confused. We later on walked behind Pope, to try and figure out what we're gonna do.
June: "This better be good."

POV: Bailey.
The moonlight shined across the large field, silence sort of surrounding the space between me and Barry, as we sat beside the small fire he had done outside.
I kept feeling how his eyes plastered on me, making me feel slightly annoyed over how long it had taken him to start talking.
Bailey: "Are you gonna talk or just keep staring at me like a total creep?" -I asked, sighing annoyed as I looked towards, the black haired boy.
A small smile beamed on his face, as he kept cutting pieces of small papers to throw them on the fire.
Barry: "I want to ask you something."
Bailey: "Well, what is it?" -I questioned, crossing my arms to look at the boy, once again.
Barry: "What was the Sheriff, doing here? Did she wanted to take Elena, away?"
I only stayed quiet, remembering everything that happened a couple of hours ago. I kept trying my best to forget about that, pretend like it didn't happen. But obviously I couldn't, and I won't be able to even distract myself at all.
Bailey: "She was just giving me a warning, they're looking for me, Barry. We're not in luck at all, we'll never be."
I trembled, quickly covering my face to avoid my tears from showing. Hearing Barry, mumbling something to himself, even though I sort of have an idea of what he saying.
Barry: "What are you gonna do? Do you want me to find some place for you to stay? I can call one of my people if you wa-"
Bailey: "No! Don't do that. I don't want your drug dealer or killer friends, to help me out with anything related to my baby." -I interrupted, snapping at the boy instantly.
I then stood up from the small chair, taking a hold of my cup of coffee to head back inside. But before I could, I noticed a vehicle's headlights approaching our home.
A man headed out of the truck, beginning to approach Barry, who still hadn't noticed the older man's presence.
Unknown Man: "You, Barry?" -he asked, glaring at the both of us.
Bailey: "Who are you? Can we do something for you?"
Barry: "Hey, Bailey, stop." -he demanded, pointing at me to later look at, the man.
Barry: "Yeah. Who the hell are you?"
Unknown Man: "My son owes you money."
We all stayed silent, my chest rising up rapidly as I started to fear that something bad could happen. The man, seemed to own a lot of money, his clothes were very expensive.
Barry: "Who's your son?"
Unknown Man: "Rafe. My son Rafe, owes you money." -he replied, my eyes completely widening after he finished.
Realization quickly hit it me, the man standing in front of my brother at the moment was, Ward Cameron. The richest man on the OBX, probably was right now standing in our yard.
Barry, began to chuckle after Ward's response, only making the man, seem more angrier than before. This also making me feel way more scared for Barry's life, this could end pretty bad.
Barry: "So, uh...you must be the babysitter, huh?" -he questioned, chuckling as he teased, Ward.
Bailey: "Barry, stop."
Ward, began to place the money up in the air, later throwing it to the ground in front of, Barry.
Barry: "Why'd you do that, huh?" -he chuckled, proceeding to stared at the man, with a big smile plastered on his face.
Barry: "Cause if that's my money right there, then...wanna put it in my hand?"
Ward: "That's not gonna happen." -he stated, glancing over to me.
Ward: "I paid it, you pick it up."
Barry: "All right. Shit, though, man. That boy is 19 years old, and you're out here takin' care of him like he just some little baby-ass bitch, huh?"
Bailey: "Barry, just stop." -I whispered, approaching the boy, to help him pick up the money.
Barry: "That's a damm shame, but I'll take your money."
Barry, then laughed, kneeling to pick the money back from the ground with my help. He then glanced over to me, as I basically stared at him with a dirty look.
Barry: "Ain't the first time-"
I gasped after Ward kicked Barry, on his ribs. The black haired boy, only grunted in pain as I tried to reach for him.
Bailey: "What the fuck is wrong with-"
I was interrupted by the slap I received from the man, only making Barry yell at Ward, this one still gasping for air. Ward, only kept kicking him constantly, only making me shout at the man, to please stop but he wouldn't.
I stood up from the ground, running towards the man, this time getting pushed.
Ward: "I'm here to warn you, young lady. I called child services, they're coming to get your daughter in a few minutes." -he declared, taking a hold of my chin aggressively.
Bailey: "Wha-what?!"
Ward: "I know your little problem about your baby. You and your brother, should know to never mess with a family like mine."
Ward: "This are the consequences of doing so. Besides, a girl like you doesn't deserve a child." -he pushed me back, later on walking back towards his vehicle.
My eyes began to let tears fall down, as I crawled towards Barry, who was unconscious on the ground. Only leaving me alone fearing for what could happen now, after what Ward, said. How could he do something like this? That was the only thing rooming through my brain at the moment.
As I took a hold of Barry's face, I heard another vehicle approaching. A couple of men and women, came out of this one, beginning to approach me.
Unknown Woman: "Hello, Mrs. Martin. We have an order by the court to take your baby, today. You might need to come down with us, to sign a couple of papers for us."
I only stared at the woman filled with shock, my hands constantly trembling after noticing the other group entering the camper.
Mrs. Beck: "I'm Lora Beck, what happened to him?" -she asked, pointing at Barry, who I kept holding onto.
I was so shocked over everything that was happening, that I wasn't responding to anything. I couldn't believe what was happening, how can I even resolve this? How can I fix this without even having anyone to help me?
End of chapter.
