The Byers had a stressful day yesterday so the twins made breakfast for Joyce, trying to cheer her up if even if it's with little things.

"All right, Mom. Breakfast is ready" Jonathon told her.

"What? No, be careful of the poster" Joyce said, snapping out of her daydream.

"Yeah, okay. All right"

"I can't eat" She told the twins.

"We just need you to eat, Mom" Jessica said.

"Listen. Listen, the Xerox place opens in, like, 30 minutes. And I don't want you two to go alone"

"No, I know, we told you, we got it"

"So i'm gonna have Karen take you both, cause I should be here"

"Okay"

"We need to make, what, two hundred, three hundred copies? How much is a copy?"

"Yeah, okay. Mom. Mom"

"Ten cents? If we... Ten cents-"

"Mom. Mom. Mom!" Jessica repeated, trying to get her Mom to stop rambling on.

"You can't get like this, okay?" She tried to comfort Joyce, putting her hand on Joyce's shoulder.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry" Joyce apologised.

"No, it's okay"

The family got interrupted by a knock on the door.

Joyce takes the cigarette out of her mouth and quickly puts it out, before she goes to get the door.

"We've been waiting six hours" Joyce told Hopper.

"I know. I came as soon as I could" He told her, walking in and shutting the door.

"Six hours!"

"A little bit of trust here, all right? We've been searching all night. Went all the way to Cartersville"

"And?"

"Nothing"

"God" Joyce turned around, about to cry.

"Flo says you got a phone call?"

"Oh, yeah"

Joyce and Hopper walked over to the phone where the twins were.

He picked the phone up and looked at it.

"Storm barbecued this pretty good"

The twins looked at each other and then back at their Mom.

"The storm?" Joyce questioned.

"What else?"

"You're saying that that's not weird?"

"No, it's weird" He told her, putting the phone back.

"Can we like, trace who made the call? Contact the-" Jonathon started.

"No, it doesn't work like that. Now, uh, you're sure it was Will? Because Flo said you just heard some breathing"

"No. It was him. It was Will. And he was scared. And then something-" Joyce's voice cracked.

"It was probably just a prank call. It was somebody trying to scare you"

"Oh shut up, Bunny. If my Mom says it was Will then it was" Jessica rolled her eyes.

"Bunny?" Hopper questioned.

"Yeah... Hopper, Hop. Bunny's hop, therefore Bunny" She explained.

"You're not calling me that" He shook his head.

"I am but think what you like" Jess shrugged.

Hopper turned away from her when Joyce spoke.

"Who would do that?"

"Well, this thing's been on Tv. It brings out all the crazies, you know. False leads, prank calls, uh..."

"No, Hopper, it was not a prank. It was him" Joyce persisted.

"Joyce"

"Come on how about a little trust here" She told him, using his words from earlier.

"What, you think I'm... I'm making this up?" She continued.

"I'm not saying that you're making it up. All i'm saying it it's an emotional time for you"

"And you think I don't know my own son's breathing? Wouldn't you know your own daughter's?" Joyce cried.

By the expression on Hopper's face, Jessica could tell that sentence effected him, but she didn't know why.

He walked away and then turned back to them.

"You hear from, uh, Lonnie yet?" He asked.

"No"

"It's been long enough. I'm having him checked out" Hopper told them before walking away again.

"Oh, come on! You're wasting your time" Joyce told him.

Joyce followed Hopper out of the house.

"I think they like each other" Jessica told her twin.

"I think the opposite" Jonathon said.

Jessica met up with Nancy and then the girls went to school together.

"When alpha particles go through gold foil, they become...."  Barb read Nancy's notes to help her before her test.

"Unoccupied space" Nancy answered.

"A molecule that can-" Jessica began to read another note but Steve stole them from her's and Barb's hands.

She looked up at him with an annoyed expression, he looked back at her and smiled.

Tommy walked past the other two girls and poked Jessica's face making her look disgusted.

"I don't know, I think you've studied enough, Nance"

The next person who walked past the girls was Carol.

"Steve-"

"I'm telling you, you know, you got this. Don't worry. Now, on to more important matters. My dad has left town on a conference and my mom's gone with him cause you know, she doesn't trust him" Steve told Nancy.

"Good call" Tommy said, him and Steve looking at each other and smiling.

"So are you in?" Steve asked her.

"In for what?" Nancy said, confused.

"No parents? Big house?" Carol said.

"A party?"

"Ding, ding, ding!" Carol said, making Jessica roll her eyes.

"It's Tuesday" Nancy looked at Steve like he was crazy.

"It's Tuesday. Oh my god" Tommy mocked her.

"Come on. It'll be low-key. It'll just be us. What do you say? Are you in or are you out?" Steve asked, looking at Nancy and then at Jessica for a few seconds.

"Um..."

"Oh, God. Look" Carol told them, they all looked at Jonathon.

"Oh, God, that's depressing" Steve said.

"Should we say something?" Nancy asked.

"I don't think he speaks" Carol told her.

"How much you want to bet he killed him?"

Jessica walked away from the group and went over to her twin.

"Shut up! That's her brother" Steve smacked Tommy on the arm.

Jessica hugged Jonathon as soon as she was next to him.

"It'll be okay" She whispered.

Nancy looked over at the twins before walking over.

"Hey" Nancy said.

"Oh, hey" Jonathon said.

"I just... I wanted to say, you know, um... I'm sorry about everything"

Jonathon looked past Nancy and looked at Steve, Tommy, Carol and Barb, who were all looking at them.

Jessica looked over and made eye contact with Steve, neither of them looking away, until Nancy's voice made her turn her head.

"Everyone's thinking about you both. It sucks"

"Yeah" Jonathon said.

"I'm sure he's fine. He's a smart kid" Nancy told the twins.

"I have to go. Chemistry test" She said when the bell went.

"Yeah"

"Good luck"

"Thanks"

Jessica could sense when people had tension, and Nancy and Jonathon, had it.

Jessica stayed with Jonathon and smiled at Nancy when she walked away.

The twins got in Jonathon's car and drove to their "dad's" house.

They got out of the car and looked at Lonnie's house, then at each other before walking to the house.

Jonathon smacked the door instead of knocking, Jessica would've preferred smashing the door down, but each to their own.

"Hello?" Jonathon said, loudly.

No one answered so Jessica banged on the door.

A woman opened the door and looked them up and down.

"Can I help you?"

"Yeah, is Lonnie around?" Jonathon asked.

"Yeah, he's out back. What do you want?"

"To look around" Jonathon said.

Jessica barged in straight past the woman, Jonathon following after her.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing? Hey!"

"We'll be fast"

"Hey, Will?" Jonathon called out.

They looked in the rooms, trying to see if their brother was there.

"Will, you here? Will?" Jessica shouted.

Lonnie walked out of one of the room's and pushed Jonathon up against the wall.

"Get off" He pushed Lonnie off him.

Jessica walked straight over to her brother.

"Damn, you've gotten stronger"

"Will someone please explain what the hell is going on?" The woman asked.

"Kids, Cynthia. Cynthia, this is Jonathon and Jessica. My kids" Lonnie answered.

Jessica rolled her eyes. Why does he get the privilege of calling them his kids?

"Come here" Lonnie tried to hug the twins.

"Get off us" Jessica and Jonathan pushed him off.

Jonathon and Jessica checked Lonnie's trunk.

"Really? You want to check up my ass, too?" Lonnie said, making Jessica fake-gag.

"That would be traumatising" She muttered to herself.

"I told you both the same thing as I told those cops, he's not here and he never has been"

"Then why didn't you call Mom back?" Jonathon asked.

"I don't know, I just...  I assumed she just forgot where he was. You know, he was lost or something. That boy never was very good at taking care of himself" Lonnie answered.

Jessica was so close to punching him in the face but she held herself back.

"This isn't some joke, all right? There are search parties, reporters..."

"Hopper's not still chief, is he? Tell your mother she's gotta get you out of that hellhole. Come out here to the city. People are more real here, you know?  And then I could see you both more"

"You know... you could see us more by driving to our house... to see us" Jessica rolled her eyes.

"What, you think I don't want to see you both?"

"We know you don't" Jonathon told him.

"See, that's you're mother talking right there. She even know you're here? Oh great. So one kid goes missing, the other two run wild? Some real fine parenting right there. Look, all i'm saying is, maybe I'm not the asshole, all right?"

"You're right, you're the dickhead" Jessica whispered to herself.

"What was that?" He asked her.

"Nothing" She smiled sarcastically.

Jonathon takes out a poster of Will and gives it to Lonnie while walking off.

"In case you forgot what he looks like"

Jessica followed after her brother but stuck her middle finger up to Lonnie first.

Nancy called Jessica and told her to come to Steve's party so she met up with her and Barb and they all went together.

"Barbara, pull over" Nancy said.

"What?"

"Pull over!"

"What are we doing here? His house is three blocks away"

"We can't park in the driveway"

"Are you serious?" Jessica rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, the neighbours might see"

"Teenagers going to a party! How scandalous" Jessica says sarcastically, making Nancy roll her eyes.

"This is so stupid. I'm just gonna drop you off"

"Calm down, Barb. Come on You promised that you'd go. You're coming. Jessica's not backing out so neither are you. We're gonna have a great time"

"He just wants to get in your pants"

"That's a lot more to Nancy then that, Barb. She's got beauty, brains and a great personality" Jessica smiled at her best friend.

"Thank you" Nancy whispered and smiled back.

"He doesn't just want that" Nancy told Barb.

"Nance... seriously. He invited you to his house. His parents aren't home. Come on, you are not this stupid"

"He invited Tommy, Carol, you and me aswell. Does that mean he wants to get in all of our pants? Are we gonna have a sixsome?" Jessica joked.

"Exactly! Tommy H and Carol are gonna be there"

"Tommy and Carol have been having sex since, like, seventh grade. It'll probably just be, like, a big orgy"

"Fun!" "Gross" Jessica and Nancy said at the same time then looked at each other with weird expressions on both of their faces.

"I'm serious!" Barb told the girls.

"All right, well... you and Jess can be, like, my guardians. All right? Make sure I don't get drunk and do anything stupid" Nancy told them as she was changing her top.

"Is that a new bra?" Barb asked.

"How would you even know that?" Jessica said, confused.

"No" Nancy said.

The trio walked to Steve's house, Barb behind the two girls since she was not looking forward to it.

Once they got to the door Nancy rang the doorbell.

"Barb, chill" Nancy told her.

"I'm chill"

"So am I" Jessica smiled.

Steve opened the door and looked at the girls, his gaze lingering on Jessica for a few seconds.

"Hello, ladies"

The group were sat by Steve's pool when Tommy went to throw Carol in.

"One! Two! Three!"

"Stop it, Tommy, no! Don't! You're such an asshole, Tommy"

Steve pierced a hole in his beer and drank it.

"Is that supposed to impress me?" Nancy asked.

"You're not?"

"You are a cliché, you do realise that?"

"You are a cliché. What with your... your grades and your band practice"

"I'm so not in band" Nancy laughed.

"Okay, party girl. Why don't you just, uh, show us how it's done, then?"

"Okay" She said before standing up.

"You gotta make a little hole right in-"

"Yeah I got it"

"Yeah, she's smart, you douche!" Tommy said.

"Chug. Chug. Chug" They all chanted as Nancy drank the beer.

"Barb, Jess, you wanna try?"

"What? No. No, I don't want to. Thanks" Barb said.

"Come on"

"Yeah" Steve said.

"Nance, I don't want to"

"It's fun! Just give it a-"

"Nance-"

"Just... Just give it a shot"

"What about you, Jess?" Nancy asked.

"Sure" Jess smiled as Nancy passed her a can of beer.

Barb stood up and tried to pierce a hole in the beer.

"So you just..." She said as she accidentally cut herself.

"Gnarly" Tommy laughed.

"Are you okay" Jessica and Nancy asked her at the same time.

"Yeah"

"Barb, you're bleeding" Nancy looked at her with a serious look on her face.

"I'm fine. Where's your bathroom?" She asked Steve.

"Oh, it's... it's, uh, down past the kitchen, to the left"

"Okay. Thanks"

Barb walked into to Steve's house and went to the bathroom.

Carol sighed with a smile and looked at the sky when Tommy pushed her into the pool, making her scream.

"Oh my God! What the hell, Tommy?"

Tommy jumped in making the others laugh.

Jessica stood up and walked over next to Nancy.

Steve pushed both the girls making them both scream.

He jumped in right after them.

Tommy and Carol started kissing which made it quite awkward for Nancy, Steve and Jessica.

Steve stole Jessica's shoe making her swim after him, to get it back, laughing the whole time.

Nancy looked at the pair, slightly confused but shrugged it off.

They all got out the pool and went inside Steve's house, they all wrapped themselves in towels.

"I'm freezing" Carol said.

"Hmm. well, I heard his mom's room has a fireplace" Tommy told her.

"Are you kidding? Okay, well, you know, you are cleaning the sheets" Steve told them.

"You all right?" Steve asked Nancy.

"Yeah" She smiled.

"What about you, Jessica?"

"Uh, I'm good, just a little bit wet... and cold"

"Come on, let's get you both some dry clothes"

"I'm fine... I'm just gonna walk home-"

"No, don't be stupid. I'll bring you some clothes and you can sleep in the guest room"

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"Of course. Now, wait in the bathroom and i'll bring the clothes down" He told her, Jessica smiled and nodded, she then walked away and went into the bathroom.

Nancy and Steve started walking up the stairs.

"Nancy. Where are you going?" Barb asked.

"Nowhere. Just... upstairs. To change. I... fell in the pool. Why don't you go ahead and go home. I'll just... I'll get a ride or something"

"Nance..."

"Barb... I'm fine"

"This isn't you"

"I'm fine. Just... go ahead and go home, okay?"

"What about Jessica?"

"She's gonna stay here" Nancy said before walking away.

Steve got one of his tops and then went to the bathroom.

He knocked on the door and Jessica opened it.

"Hi" She smiled sweetly.

"Hi. Here's my top. It's not much but If i gave you shorts they'd probably fall of you" He laughed.

"It's fine, thank you" She smiled, gratefully.

He nodded and then walked back to his room.

She shut the bathroom door and got changed.

She looked at herself in the bathroom mirror and laughed at how much of a mess she looked.

Her hair was all wet and gross and her mascara was all smudged.

Steve didn't say anything about it... That's weird.

She looked at his top on her body and smelled it.

She scrunched her nose up and then picked her clothes up and walked to his guest room.

She walked in and the room was massive... well maybe not massive but a lot bigger then her room.

It was beautiful and smelled amazing.

She put her clothes down on the floor and then got into the bed.

She closed her eyes and drifted to sleep straight away.
