𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 - 𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋 𝐊𝐎𝐎𝐊

Kiara pulled the envelope out of the stone, flipping it over and looking at the writing on it. 'For Bird.'

"That's not gold," Pope said when Kiara handed it out to John B.

"Holy shit," John B muttered. "This is from my dad."

Willow reached her hands out, helping Kie out of the hole.

"Code red. Code red. Square groupers! Square groupers!" JJ said when he saw a vehicle approaching them. They all panicked and were quick to run and hide, turning all of their flashlights off.

"I see something!" They heard a man shout.

"Do you think it's them?" Willow asked.

"Homies got a gun," JJ told her.

"Screw this," Kie muttered, reaching for Willow hand, pulling her up and running across the graveyard to the wall. They were quick to jump over the wall connected to the gate. Pope made the very smart decision of jumping the gate instead, his pants getting caught.

"Guys, I'm stuck!" He panicked. Kiara pulled him down, his pants ripping off. They giggled like school children as they pushed Pope to the van before John B took off without them.

"That bread had mold on it three days ago," Pope told JJ when he walked into John B's kitchen to see JJ spreading peanut butter on moldy bread.

"I'll just pull off the bad parts," He told Pope. "Plus, mold is good for you. It's just a natural organism."

"Just let him believe it. If he dies, he dies," Willow muttered, rolling her eyes.

"JJ!" Kie called making JJ jog over to them so John B could open the envelope from his dad.

"Hot damn! Lets do it!"

John B opened the envelope, pulling out a tape recorder and a map.

"What's that?" JJ asked.

"A tape recorder, dumbass," Willow rolled her eyes.

John B pressed play and his dads voice filtered into the air, "Dear Bird."

"Who's bird?"

"That's what my dad called me," John B said.

"I hate to say 'I told you so,' but I told you so. And you doubted your old man. I suspect at this moment, you're filled with guilt and self-loathing over our last fight, but don't kill yourself just yet, kid. I didn't expect to find the Merchant either. You were probably right to call me out. Wasn't exactly Father of the Decade. What can I say, kid? I could smell the barn. And hopefully, we're listening to this in our brand new sugar-shack down in Costa Rica, livin' off passive investments and pulling on permits. If not, and you find this for less-than-optimal reasons, well, that's what the map is for. There she is, the wreck of the Merchant. If somethin' happens to me, finish what I started. Go for the gold, kid. I love you, Bird, even if I didn't always act like it. I'll see you on the other side."

"John B--" Willow tried to say but he just walked away, tears starting to fall from his eyes.

"Holy shit, he did it!" JJ exclaimed still focused on what Big John had said. Kiara was trying to tell him to shut up. "Sorry."

Kiara strummed her ukulele as thunder rumbled in the distance. They all sat around on the dock, but John B sat away from them.

"How much was it again?" JJ spoke up.

"Four hundered mil," Pope responded.

"All right, lets talk the split. Now, before we say evenly, may I remind you that I am the only one that can properly defend us from those groupers who were after us. Protection? Not cheap, okay?

"You don't even know how to properly use that thing," Willow scoffed.

"Youtube, bro!"

"With what internet?"

"Whatever, that's at least a 5 percent bump right there," JJ said.

"You haven't--"

"Any objections? Didn't think so."

"What are you gonna do with your 80 mil, Pope?" Kiara asked.

"Pay for college in advance," He said. "And also, textbooks. Those are expensive."

"What about you, Kie," Willow asked.

"Yeah, what does a socialist do when she's rich?"

"Just wanna make a double album," Kie chuckled. "About OBX, the Pogues. You know, the way Catch a Fire is about Kingston. Record it at Marley Studio, Peter Tosh producing."

"Peter Tosh is dead," Pope told her.

"Peter Tosh is dead. I know. Spirit of Peter Tosh will never die."

"I know what I'll do. I'm gonna get a big ass house on Figure Eight and go full Kook," JJ said.

"You're gonna go full Kook?" Willow laughed.

"Yup. Gonna get a marble statue of myself, and then I'm gonna get a koi pond. Put a bunch of those fish--"

"I'm never visiting," Kiara told him.

"What about you, Willow?" JJ asked.

"I'm gonna get the fuck out of this place," Willow sighed. "Gonna buy a modest house in the country and donate what I can to charity."

"You're too nice a person," Pope told her. "What are you gonna do, JB?"

"To going full Kook," John B said, lifting his beer can in a cheers.
