Kristopher

The sky had darkened, just like my mood. The weather wasn't a very pleasant one as the skies turned grey. I got into my black SUV banging the door. I had just turned on the engine when Micah jumped into the back seat.

I scoffed staring at her through the rear view mirror, her sneered lips, folded arms, crossed knees, no doubt, she was upset.

Hell! I didn't care, I was upset too.

Where does she know Bryson from? How long has she known him? Did he tell her anything about me?

What was Thier relationship about?

My hands gripped the steering wheel tighter as I recalled the hug Bryson pulled Micah into, the cheerful, bright smile placed on his face.

Why did he look so happy!?

He didn't have the right to be happy, not after what he did to me.

I'll be damned if I ever saw him smile again.

My eyes fell back on Micah who cuddled herself due to the cold. My gaze left her to the air conditioning. As much as I wanted to reduce it, she'd upset me in the mall. Matter of fact, why would I be reducing it? I loved the icy feeling the cold brought with it.

Why did I care if she was shivering at the back seat.

I grunted, as I finally reached for the air conditioner and reduced it.

I had to get home early and start packing, it's already 3:50 pm and my flight is as early as 2:00am.

The car was silent, dead silent and it would've been better if Micah was sleeping or atleast on her phone but she wasn't, she wasn't even staring out the window. It was unclear what she was looking at, she had a polka expression and her face forward.

Staring at her through the mirror, my eyes rested on her beautiful black hair which looked slightly messy.

Was it wierd that I wanted to tuck her beautiful hair behind her reddening ears?

Yes, of course it was.

My eyes left her hair to her gorgeous plump lips.

Gorgeous? Why the Fuck did I just call her lips gorgeous?

I have to say, I was quite surprised that she came today. I never expected that from her. Coming to work after I had cut her off guard kissing her.

I was in shock that night, still trying to figure out why I had gone so low.

Kissing her was so wrong, I'd be upset if I were her. I'd never done that, I'd never touch or kiss anyone without Thier permission.

What I did yesterday was disgusting but trust my fucking ego, I still hadn't apologized.

I couldn't help but wonder why she hadn't objected to the kiss or why she'd tasted so good.

Damn it Kristopher! Get a hold!

I immediately averted my eyes from her lips back to the road.

**
It'd been an hour on the road and the rain made it even harder to drive.

I noticed a familiar building as the snow flakes fell. It was a really old eatery I was surprised was still around.

'Donny's place'

I remember this place. It wasn't anything you'd call classy but the food was good.

"Hungry?" I turned to my shoulder, my voice came out a lot deeper.

Micah stared at me with a questioning look, a look which clearly showed she was surprised I had asked if she was hungry.

Her face lit up for a split second before it fell, as if she'd just remembered something.

"No thank you." Her voice still had a hint of annoyance as she refolded her arms.

A smirk crept on my face as I heard her reply.

"Well, I am." I put off the engine of the car.

"I'd rather wait inside." She pulled out a pair of air pods from her pocket.

"No." I said bluntly coming out of the car.

I heard her mumble and grumble till she came out of the car.

She hissed and pouted angrily.

"You look a lot more ugly when you frown" I snickered "Smile a little." I whispered before locking the car doors and working towards the entrance doors.

My eyes didn't miss the scowl on her face and weirdly that made my smirk grow.

I had eaten to my satisfaction, yet not halfway of the food. I was never really a heavy eater, neither was I a heavy drinker.

I exhaled, wiping my mouth with a napkin. Micah had been silent since we got here, sitting on an opposite booth from mine.

I pulled out my phone from my pocket where several notifications waited for me. I had to leave now so I could prepare myself for the 11hour flight.

I had several business meetings and seminars in Italy but I was hesitant about leaving Micah with Bryson.

I couldn't understand what I was scared of, but I knew I was scared.

Yes, I hate to admit it because Kristopher Lyon fears nothing, nothing except his past.

I shoved my phone back into my pocket, dropping a significant amount of cash on the booth and walking out. My mind couldn't be at rest because Bryson was here.

"I wasn't joking about what I said." I buckled my seatbelts once Micah got into the car.

"Huh?"

"I don't want you to have anything to do with that man we met at the mall earlier."

For once, could she not be so stubborn.

"Or what?" I heard her murmur as she buckled her seatbelts as well

"I Heard that." I informed her trying to keep my eyes on the road.

"I'm aware."

"You know, you sure have guts."
She can be really annoying and it isn't even cute.

"Wait, so I'm not meant to have guts? Why exactly? Are you mad that I'm not as obedient as you'd hope?" She snapped.

This is why we always fight.

"You really have no fear?" Nobody dared to cross me, but her "you're not scared of the conceqeunces?" She seemed to forget that her family's future were in my palm.

"Of course I have no fear. Am I meant to be scared, that you'll kiss me again?"

I immediately tensed up, that was uncalled for.

"Yes. I might even do more than just kissing, don't tease me." My gaze darkened, that ought to shut her up.

And it did.

Micah immediately looked down, popping the ear pods into her ears.

I had a victorious smirk, I'd always have the last talk.

A few minutes after our argument, my eyes fell on a distressed looking Micah. The ear pods still in her ear and an uneasy look on her face.

"I'm on my way." Her voice has shaky, I realized she was on the phone.

She hung up, tossing her phone into her bag.

"I'll get out here." She informed doing her best to look serene.

"Why?" My brows rose.

"I need to get out here, my nephew's is in the hospital."

Nephew? Was it perhaps the little boy?

"What happened to him?"

"I don't know, he slumped." Her voice broke.

I never liked the annoying little boy, but this was serious.

"What hospital?"

Her eyes widened in shock for a minute before she regained herself.

"I-I'll ask my mom to send the address."

Imagine, she had no idea where the hospital was but wanted to get off the car.

"Alright."

Once I Parked the SUV in the parking lot, she immediately jumped out, practically running into the building with me walking behind her.

She got the room number from the receptionist and got into the elevator.

She was scared, I could tell. She constantly tapped her foot on the floor.

Micah rushed out once the elevator door opened, she ran into the arms of her mom, who sat on the hospital chair sobbing silently. There was a blond man standing, staring out the window.

"What happened? Where's Sara?" Micah asked, her breath unsteady.

"He, he just slumped. I have no idea why. He and Cameron were baking in the kitchen and he just slumped." Her mother paused "Sara's home with your father, Corner and Cameron. I asked them both to look after Sara and your dad."

I stood silently, with my hands in my pocket staring at the trio.

"What did the doctor say?" Micah asked, gathering her messy hair so she could pack it.

"Nothing. He hasn't said anything yet. They've been with Levi for almost two hours now."

"Two hours!?" Micah snapped. "You only called me some minutes ago, why? God knows what Levi is going through and his own mother can't be here." A single tear rolled down her cheeks.

"He's just five, he doesn't deserve all this!"

It wasn't in my place to be here, everyone was family and I was a wicked boss who wanted them homeless.

As much as I felt like leaving, I stood still.

"What's he doing here?" I stared at the owner of the voice. It was that blond man. Everyone else here had ignored my presence aside from him.

"Micah!? Why is he here?"
