Chapter Nine

Kristopher

I have to admit, a part of me knew she wouldn't go down that easily and a part of me was happy, she had been a great way to kill time and I was going to make her pay for what happened in the pub yesterday.

I didn't know why I had acted so weak and offered to end the contract but I didn't like it.

"I have a request." She said as my brows rose.

I stared down at her.

What could she be requesting for

"What?" I asked her as she dug her hands into her pocket and looked down.

"I need more time." She said as I scoffed, I turned my back leaving the dining room.

"I'm sorry for what I said at the pub, I was drunk." I stopped walking and looked over my shoulders.

"But you meant it?" I wouldn't be surprised if she meant it, I was horrible and used to hatred by people. I demolish homes and make people homeless for leisure.

I took her silence as a yes.

"You shouldn't be sorry for the things you mean." I muttered bitterly. I began walking towards the staircase before I heard her speak again.

"Did you know Camille Brie Condo? She was an actress, she was killed yesterday-"

"Yes I knew her. Why? You think I  had something to do with her murder?" I asked scornfully, I didn't know how to feel about Camille's death. I felt bad but I didn't know what she was to me. The news that shocked me the most is that she was pregnant. Was that why she was calling me? Could it have been my child?

"No. I'm just sorry that I wasted your time at the pub-"

I cut her off her again. "Don't apologize! Camille was nothing to me." I watched as her brows furrowed. "I just slept with her a couple times, no body means anything and you're not going to be any different." I felt the need to tell her.

She didn't respond for a while which was weird, usually she look up at me and try to be fierce.

Instead she just shook her head and looked down, we were both quiet and I wanted her to say something, I didn't want her to shun me, I hated being shunned.

"What made you this cold?" She asked in a tone, a little above a whisper.

I rose her chin high with a finger as I stared at her, in ways she reminded me of Dina and I didn't like that.

She stared back at me this time she didn't have fear in her eyes, my second hand rose to her face as I cupped her face in my hands and leaned in closer.

For a second I saw Dina in Micah,  her innocent brown eyes, long brown hair, her warm smile. I wanted to hug her and tell her I missed her.

I leaned in closer, so close our foreheads touched. Micah flinched before moving a step backwards.

What was I doing? I knew I should apologize but I didn't.

"Get out," I ran my hands in my hair only making it messy. "Get out!" I repeated, but louder when she remained.

"I can't live now, it's snowing heavily." Her breath hitched as she stared down at the floor, this was new for me. Micah always stared me in my eye and tried to act fierce.

"I'm thirsty." She broke the growing silence and walked to my fridge, she opened it pulling out a coca cola drink.

"What are you doing?" I questioned her, who did she think she was opening my fridge and pulling out my coca cola.

"Taking a drink, every other thing her is either bitter or beer. I'm a lightweight."

I rose my brows in shock. "I don't care if it's snowing!" I pointed at the windows. " you're leaving now!"

"This isn't how to  treat a guest." She folded her arms. I scoffed at her, she annoyed the shit out of me, she challenged me and the worst part of it all is that she did it in my house.

"I never invited you!" I gritted my teeth.

"You don't need to invite me." She walked back into the living room and sunk on the chair, she stretched out her leg and grabbed the remote control switching on the television.

Maybe I wanted company, if  I didn't want her here, I'll force her out. I tried to convince myself before walking into the sitting room.

Normal ladies wouldn't sit so freely in a man they barely know house, Micah was crazy and not the good type. She liked to act like she was so strong and so confident but she isn't. I could tell she was  putting on a smiling plastic face to the whole world.

"Your TV is boring. Only football and news!" She complained as I scoffed.

"You have no right to complain, you aren't even invited. I walked up the stairs with a single thought in my head.

Why didn't Micah say anything as I leaned closer
