Chapter Forty

Micah

Zion's eyes left mine to Kristopher's. His smirk remained.

"Does he know Micah?"

Rage consumed me as my mind wondered back to that night. The night I had given myself to Zion because he came in the disguise of a friend.

I really didn't do anything wrong, Zion was the one who cheated on Claire. I didn't cheat on anyone. Kristopher didn't even like me.

So why did I feel so guilty?

"You should be the one worried Zion. Does Claire know? I doubt you'd get any more money from her daddy if she finds out." I pretended to be brave and unbothered.

"I couldn't give two fucks about Claire!" Zion yelled, much to Claire's discomfort. We started getting stares, even from Ava who was still busy ordering food.

"What the Fuck Zion!?" It was Brianne who shouted now. She turned to Claire who was now hurriedly cleaning her tears. I felt bad for Claire, she didn't deserve all this. Zion wasn't worth her tears.

"I should go." Claire's Voice shook as she stood up to leave.

"Sit your ass down." Zion commanded as Claire stood shocked, with teary eyes.

"Zion calm down." Tori grabbed his hand, trying to calm him down.

"Why is everyone treating me like the villain?" Zion stared at me and then Kristopher with so much hatred in his eyes.

"I'm the fucking Victim here!" He blew up, throwing the menu up in the air. "Micah grew distant, uninterested. I had no choice but to break up, hopefully to ease the tension. I only got together with Claire for her father's money. Hopefully to help Micah out since her family had never been financially stable." He paused searching my eyes for a reaction but I gave him none.

I refused to believe him. If he had really loved me, he'd be telling me this to me and me alone not the whole Diner. He was just seeking validation.

"And this man here," he glared at Kristopher. "He doesn't love Micah, I doubt they're dating. They can't be. Micah despises you, I can't blame her, all you really care about is money. You are putting her on a stupid journey to see if she can change your mind about demolishing her house."

My heart dropped, literally, I felt a strong pain in my chest. Zion was never meant to say that out loud.

I turned to look at Kristopher who was staring at me, an expression of his I couldn't read.

"You keep on hurting her you jerk! Few she says out loud and most of them she bottles up!" His eyes were red and so where any trace of emotion except anger. "She called me, one night. She was wasting away in a club thinking of all you put her through and you still put her through so much! She was drunk, I knew it but it had been so long since she touched me and wanted to have sex with me, even if it was just to forget the pains you caused her!" My eyes examined the expression on each and every of my friends faces. Off all, Claire looked most affected by Zion's confessions, after her came Kristopher.

"So yeah, I had sex with Micah, I cheated on my girlfriend. Not just because Micah asked for it but for my selfish reasons as well." Zion paused, his eyes still on Kristopher. "I'll let you know one thing, Everytime I see you with Micah, I'll always remember the way she moaned out my name with pleasure as I ate her up, and with a smile on my face too-"

Kristopher shut Zion up as he flew off his seat landing a punch of Zion's cheek. I watched with wide eyes as Zion fell to the floor and with the blink of an eye Kristopher was on top Zion giving him doses of punches.

I watched Claire hurriedly run out of the Diner frantically wiping her weeping eyes and Tori stand back, fear  written all over her face as she watched Kristopher beat up Zion.

Luther ran to Kristopher trying to separate him from Zion who did his best to fight back.

"My Lyon?" I called out to Kristopher who ignored me and kept on punching Zion. "Mr Lyon?!" I called, louder this time.

"Kristopher! Please stop." I screamed. Mr Lyon froze, his hand in mid air. He stood up from the badly beaten Zion and slowly looked round the whole Diner. Everyone was quiet, waiting for his next action.

He glanced at me one more time before he pushed through the crowd and left.

"Mr Lyon!" I pushed through as well, running after him.

I grabbed his hands just before he got into his car.

"What was that for?" I questioned. My breath came in small pants.

"You had sex with that piece of shit?" That was all he could say? He asked the one question I'd rather not answer.

My eyes found thier way to the ground as I found it hard to answer that particular question.

"So you did?" He scoffed. "And you didn't tell me?"

"Why would I?" My eyes found thier way to his emerald. "It's not like we're actually together, it's not like you see me as anything more than a business partner." I used his own words against him.

He looked taken aback for a second then remained quiet before speaking out again. "Did you enjoy it?"

I batted my lashes at him, his emerald eyes were hooded with anger, pain and envy.

"I don't know Sir, who doesn't?" My voice shook as I nervously cracked my knuckles.

"So you did?" He cocked his brows.

"That doesn't matter!" I felt my cheeks heat up. "Why'd you create such a scene?"

He was quiet, he stared at me with so much anger and hurt and his beautiful eyes looked dead.

"I'm not dealing with this." He announced as he took hold of the door.

No damn way!

I wasn't letting him run from this conversation. He'd always shy away from issues when they got to thier peak. He always avoided serious situations, not today!

Without thinking, I hurried to the backseat and opened the door just as soon as he hopped in, I also jumped in.

"What are you doing?" His eyes stared at mine through the rear view mirror.

"We need to talk." I boldly stated and crossed my arms.

"There's nothing to talk about Ms.  Harlan."

Here he goes.

"Why are you upset?"

"I'm not. There's nothing to be upset about-"

"You are."

"No I'm not. Micah stop being so childish."

"Are you upset because you found out I slept with Zion?" I blurted out and watched the veins on his neck bulge.

He slowly looked over his shoulders. His silence was deadly.

Weirdly, I didn't find myself afraid like I normally would be. Infact, I felt more guilty and hurt as I watched him try to hide away from my suspicions.

"Y'know, I never knew how Zion really felt until today, I still think he's an asshole but Zion's been through-" I was caught off abruptly as Kristopher swiftly made his way to the back seat, pinning me, making me lean deeper into the soft leather seat.

His hands were above both my shoulders at each side and his knees pinning my lap, all I could think about was how uncomfortable this posture must be for him.

"Just...stop mentioning his name." His breath fanned my cheeks.

"Why?" I whispered as I became aware of how close his face was to mine. If either of us leaned in, our lips would brush.

"Because.." he trailed off staring at my eyes then going lower to my lips before returning to my eyes. "I can't remember the last time I had ever been jealous." He paused, his eyes examining my facial expression. "Except now."
