England x Reader | Candy Apple Kisses
You watched the leaves steadily fall outside, twirling and doing flips before finally landing on the ground. Autumn was your favorite season, and you were so enthralled by all the beauty of it. Even the chill in the air that made your nose tingle fascinated you. Your boyfriend, however, did not seem to share the same enthusiasm. He just sat at the table, reading his boring old book. "Arthur." You pouted, draping your arms around his neck. "Yes, love?" He murmured, still captivated by his book. "Come outside and play in the leaves with me. Pretty please?" You begged. "(Y/N)! We just raked up all those leaves yesterday! They'll be scattered all over the yard again!" He frowned disapprovingly. "So? Ask Alfred to help! You know he loves to rake!" "No, he loves to play in the leaves. That's worse than if we jumped in them!" Arthur scoffed, the very thought of the American destroying his perfect lawn was unacceptable. "You're no fun." You groaned, teasingly snatching Arthur's book right out of his hands. "What are you doing? Give it back!" The flustered Brit exclaimed, reaching out for it.
You held his precious book behind your back and shook your head. "Nope. Not until you go outside with me. Please? We never do anything fun. You've been inside reading all day..." You bit your lip in a cute way that you knew made Arthur melt. "Alright, alright, love." He made a sound halfway between a whine and a sigh and pulled on his thin fall jacket. Smiling, you threw his book down on the table and the two of you went outside into the crisp Autumn air, hand in hand.
Giggling like a school girl, you flung yourself into a pile of leaves and dug down in it until only a little bit of your face was visible. Arthur chuckled to himself. He really wanted to be an uncaring man right now. After all, you had taken away his book and forced him to go out into the cold weather to practically ruin all of yesterday's hard work...but...whenever he saw you with that childlike spark in your eyes, Arthur couldn't deny how happy it made him. "Join me!" You demanded, rolling around and spreading the golden leaves everywhere. The British man winced. Arthur was a proper man, and diving into a pile of leaves just seemed silly to him. Not to mention dirty. He would have to take a shower almost instantly afterward. "I-I don't know, love." Arthur looked down at his feet for a moment, trying to conceal the slightly pink tinge on his cheeks that he KNEW was there plain as day now. "Please, baby? I'll do anything you want." You bargained, eyes flashing dangerously. Arthur inhaled sharply.
He was screwed. You were using words against him...words that affected him in ways you couldn't even imagine. Arthur suppressed a small sound that was rising within him, tearing at his insides to come out. You never called him baby. It was foreign to Arthur that someone so beautiful was calling him something possessive... a word that crossed the boundaries between friends and lovers. For Alfred, who called almost every girl 'baby' and 'babe', the word wasn't so strange at all. But to Arthur, who had never, ever imagined a woman to call him that, his heart nearly stopped.
There were a few moments of silence before the blonde man slipped off his shoes, socks, and his jacket, leaving him only in his slightly tight pants with the Jack Union flag over the back pockets and a loose-fitting black T-Shirt that had the name of some punk band written on it. Wordlessly, he buried himself in the leaves next to you. Arthur's warmth was right there beside you...and you had never felt so happy in your life. "Thanks." You said, unsure of what made him finally give in. He grumbled something, but then you pounced on him like a feline.
Arthur yelped as he went flying backwards, scattering leaves everywhere. You pretty much forced him to roll in the crunching foliage beneath the two of you. After a few minutes, Arthur was having fun. The Brit pushed you back, tumbling with you in the backyard. "Ah!" You squealed, wiggling out from underneath his body and racing to the next pile. "Come back here!" He laughed, getting up and chasing after you. "Gotta move faster than that, old timer!" You yelled, leaping into more leaves. "Old timer!? I'll show you!" Arthur jumped right on top of you, tackling you farther into the pile. By now, his perfect yard was ruined...and he, prim and proper Arthur Kirkland, couldn't care less.
He was having the time of his life, even though his clothes were getting muddy and dirty, and he suspected there were leaves in his pants. There were even some gold and red leaves tangled into his fluffy blonde hair. Arthur's green eyes sparkled playfully, and for a moment you saw a side of him you never knew he had. It suited him very well. Arthur, however, was too aware of how awkwardly positioned you were. His hips were straddling yours, his hands had slid on top of your wrists to pin you down. What had once seemed playful and innocent was no more.
The Englishman's cheeks flushed bright red... but for a moment all he could do was stare at you and admire your beauty. Your (H/C) hair was splayed out around your shoulders, little stems and leaves poking out here and there. Your (E/C) eyes were glistening with happiness and childlike innocence and your cheeks were tinted deep red from the cold and possibly embarrassment. 'She's lovely...quite possibly the most beautiful rose I have ever seen.' Arthur pondered, his hands tracing lazy circles over the bare flesh of your wrists. "Um...Arthur...maybe we should go inside. Your nose is so red from the cold, I should call you Rudolph." You joked playfully. He nodded and released your wrists instantly. Arthur wanted very much to kiss you, but he was a gentleman.
He preferred you to make the first move. The two of you hadn't even had your first kiss yet. Although, you had shared a bed together and cuddled a lot. "Quite right, love." He agreed, giving you a sweet smile before taking your hand and helping you up. After the two of you went back inside, you were surprised to see Arthur didn't go back to his book. Instead, he sat on the couch, seemingly lost in thought. You were happily enjoying a Candy Apple flavored sucker that you bought before heading over to his house.
You had a thing for suckers, and this lollipop was one of your favorite flavors. "What's wrong, Arthur?" You asked quietly, laying on the couch with your head on his thigh. He held back another sound trying to wrestle from his chest, but this time it was a much, much less innocent noise. He was losing it watching you work at that lollipop. "N-nothing, love. I'm just happy, is all." He tentatively stroked your hair. "I told you that you'd like the leaves! It was fun, wasn't it!? Maybe we should do it again tomorrow!" You said excitedly, sitting up to dig the last remains of the leaves out of his blonde hair.
You straddled his hips casually so that you could pick through his golden locks easier. "(Y-Y/N)" Arthur's voice sounded weak, like a thirsty man wandering the desert. "Chill out, baby. I'm almost done." You said, still sucking on the lollipop. He could barely make out what you said, but he caught the word baby. His mouth was on fire now. Arthur suddenly gripped the end of the sucker in your mouth and he tore it from your lips. "Arthur, what was that." Your voice was swallowed by his mouth meeting yours. Arthur gripped your hips tightly as his lips moved against yours gently and sweetly.
He could taste the candy apple, and it was intoxicating. Everything about you was getting him drunk. It was likewise for you as your heart melted. You gave in to the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck and pressing your body tightly to his. It wasn't long before you had to come up for air again. With a loud POP sound, the two of you broke apart, gasping for air. "Artie, can I have my sucker back now?" You whined, unsure exactly what else to say as you felt your face flushing bright red. "You beautiful, wonderful woman. You have absolutely no idea how lovely you really are." With a soft smirk, he popped the sucker in his mouth. "Ah~! No fair!" You cried out, desperately trying to fish the lolli from his mouth.
His teeth had a good grip on the stick, though, and he wasn't giving up. "Want it back? You'll have to fight me for it." Arthur's eyes sparkled playfully. "Arthur Kirkland, you tease!" You frowned, trying to pull the sucker out with all your might. The Englishman removed the sucker from his mouth now and pressed another loving kiss into your mouth. You loved what the candy apple flavor was doing to the taste of your kisses. It was like magic. Almost all night the two of you carried on, playing this teasing game until the sucker was completely gone and you had forgotten everything you once knew about Arthur Kirkland to make room for everything you were still learning about him.
