I was starting at Tara and Zephan, who were sitting next to each other, but not uttering a word.

My phone beeped.

  My heart 💘; Are they conversing?
  

              Nope. They wouldn't even look at each other. Where are you?

My heart 💘; I'm almost there. This was such a bad idea babe.

Ikr, the tension here is so high. God! Only you can do something.

My heart💘; I'm reaching a check point rn. I don't want those officers to stop me. They've not seen me and.... I'm not using my seat belt

Oh...okay, stay safe babe.

She had read my last text before she went offline.

   "It will do you both good if you just talk" I finally broke the silence. Zephan glared at me before taking his phone.

   Tara glanced at her boyfriend...sorry, ex-boyfriend, then she smiled sadly.

"Tara..." I trailed off when I heard a guy beside me scream 'wawu!'

The guy's eyes was fixed on the entrance of the restaurant and I got curious to see what he was looking stand Alas! It was my girlfriend.

   Dazzline was wearing a simple black pleated dress that stopped mid thigh and her hair was styled in a low bun. What completed the look was the black stilettos she was wearing.

   Her dress was simple, yet classy. It seems she doesn't know how she's turning heads here because she was typing away on her phone.

  "Gabriel" Zephan and Tara called at the same time.

   "Hmm?" I asked without even turning to look at them.

  "You better go get your girl" Tara said and I turned to her in confusion.

   "What?" I asked in confusion.

"That guy's gonna hit on your girl" Zephan replied pointing to a guy that was talking to Dazzline.

I balled my fists as I walked to where Dazzline was standing.

   "Babe" I said and she looked up at me and smiled.

  "Hey, I was just about to text you" she said as she wrapped her hands around my waist.

  I kissed her forehead and she giggled as the guy talking to her earlier, glared at me.

   "Let's go" she said. "Tara looks like she's gonna faint anytime soon".

  She smiled at the guy and began to lead me away.

"What are you wearing" I asked her with a scrutinizing gaze.

  "Clothes of course" she replied while rolling her eyes.

  "You shouldn't wear this in public. All the guys were staring at you" I said.

  She looked at me and smirked, "possessive much?"

   "You can say that" I grinned and she suddenly stopped in front of me, stood on her toes and her luscious pink lips landed on mine.

  Ecstasy filled my heart and I felt complete and overwhelmed at once.

  This girl will be the death of me.

"Guy e don do naa " one of the people here said and Dazzline smiled as she pulled away.

   "Don't worry, Gabriel, no one can take me away from you" she said and smiled reassuringly.

     I smiled back and kissed her forehead before we continued walking to our table.

  "Hi guys" Dazzline greeted them as we sat.

   "Heyy" they said in unison.

"Good thing you're here. What exactly are we doing here?" Zephan asked.

   "We're here to hang out, obviously" she rolled her eyes as she signaled a waitress to come. "Have you had anything?" She asked Tara.

   "Nope" she replied and Dazzline sighed.

  "Why is that?"

"I'm not hungry and I don't want to eat anything"

"We'll see about that" Dazzline snarled.

  "A plate of fried rice and chicken and two bottles of Bigi Tamarind please" Dazzline said to the waitress with a smile.

    "So will you guys talk or not?" Dazzline asked, staring at Tara and Zephan.

   "Talk about what?"  Zephan asked with a confused look

   "About the both of you, obviously!" Dazzline snapped.

  "There's nothing to talk about" Zephan replied coldly.

With the way Dazzline balled her fists, I could tell she was about to snap.

   "Watch...."

"I thought Dazzline doesn't wear short clothes" Someone said and we turned around to see Zahra and Elliot

  The two took a seat next to us without even saying any form of greeting.

  "Mom took all my clothes to the drycleaner's so I had to borrow her boyfriend's sister's cloth. It doesn't belong to me" Dazzline explained and faced the waitress who brought her food, "Thanks".

   The waitress smiled seductively at Zephan as she asked him "what would you like to eat sir?"

   "Wipe that disgusting smile, he's taken", Zahra said to the waitress and pointed to Tara, "that's his girlfriend".

   That did the trick as she waitress's shoulders fell and her mouth hung open as she stared at Zahra with a flushed expression.

   "Please close your mouth, I don't want your spit in my food" Dazzline said with a disgusted face and I couldn't help but shake my head at the best friends. These girls are something else.

"A chilled bottle of Coca-Cola for my boo and I" Zahra added.

   "Sorry. I'll bring your drinks" the waitress muttered as she walked away briskly.

   "Zahra, that was uncalled for, and Dazzline, that was extremely rude" Zephan chided, glaring at the two girls.

   "Oh please, we're just trying to save your ass from that cheap thing" Zahra said in a bored tone.

   "Here it is" The waitress said as she dropped the drinks on the table and walked away briskly.

  "So, Omotara, this fried rice is yours" Dazzline said pushing the fried rice to her sister while the latter just stared at her like she was crazy before bursting into laughter.

  "Zari, I told you I'm not hungry" Tara replied.

  Dazzline stared at her as she took a sip out of her Bigi Tamarind and then said, "it's taking all of my self-control for me not to slap the shit out of you right now, Omotara".

  I almost laughed at Tara's expression as she quickly took the food and began eating.

Dazzline smiled at me as she stretched the Bigi plastic to me. "You want?"

  "Yeah, thanks" I replied as I collected the plastic from her and took a sip.

After hours of talking and laughing, Zephan finally said, "guys, my mom needs me, I've gotta go".

   "Okay bro, bye", I replied. He and Elliot did their bro handshake and Zephan came to me with his right hand stretched out but Dazzline slapped it away.

  "Don't you even think of doing that stupid handshake with my boyfriend" she said, eyeing him while the latter just laughed as he walked away.

   "Okay guys, we gotta go" Zahra said and stood up with Elliot.

  "Okay, bye man" I said to Elliot while Dazzline and Zahra were hugging.

  "I think I'll have to go too" Dazzline said with a worried expression while staring at her phone.

  "Is anything the matter?" Tara asked.

"I don't know, Nathan just told me to be coming home ASAP"  she replied as she stood up, "please help me drop Tara at home".

  "Sure babe, be careful" I said and pecked her on the lips then she practically ran out of the restaurant.

   "Wait for me outside, let me clear the bills" I said to Tara while I signaled to the waitress.

* DAZZLINE *

I sped into the compound with a worried look on my face.

  I kept on telling Nathan to tell me what is wrong but the stupid boy won't answer me!

He was pacing around in the compound with Fayth in his arms and there was an unknown car in our compound.

   "What's the matter?" I asked him as I got down from my car.

     "Just go in there and tell him to get the fuck out of this house!" He snapped.

"Who is the him?" I asked in confusion.

   "Why don't you go in and see for yourself?" He replied and stormed off to the garden.

   I sighed and entered the house only to see him.

  He had this sick smile on his face and my blood started boiling as I glared at the bastard sitting on the couch.

  "Dazzline.. calm down" I heard mom say. I turned to look at her and scoffed before turning to look at that bastard.

   "Dad...the fuck...what are you doing here?" I asked, trying but failing miserably to make my voice calm.

Hmm, Dazzline's father av come back now ooo!!
