First, I would like to say that the blurb gives us insights about what the plot is about but not as much as I would've liked. I think the (description) spoilers of the first book are not enough to set the reader to continue reading the sequel. You need a set blurb for just the Code Breaker. The paragraph isn't enough. For example, you could include the stakes, introduce the main character better and how they feel, think or what they would do. Give us the plot. And then at the end you could say this is the sequel and give readers insights about the first book. It's more efficient that way and will increase the number of new readers as well as keep the number of old readers.

As for the opener, it pulled me in from the spot. I wouldn't change anything about it. You have an amazing way of letting the story flow and choosing the rich and professional vocabulary. Moreover, I had an opportunity to meet the main character since the opener leaves a nice room for it. I can't judge the character and assume which way Chadwick will progress but it's going well so far. I definitely expect a character development of some sort which will move the story forward. Excellent job and the first place is very much deserved (:
