Y/n was a pretty quiet person. Similar to Jackie Young, she was a bit of a silent assassin. She played basketball for the Minnesota Lynx, and in college she played for Tennessee. As for her role in Unrivaled, she was gonna be playing for the Laces BC. When she showed up, as usual, she was quiet and reserved. Nobody knew much about her. Not even her Lynx teammates. She lived a very private life.
After one day at Unrivaled HQ, she knew she was in for a ride.
It took her maybe a week to fully feel...comfortable, surrounded by so many bright charismatic personalities. She only really spoke to her Laces teammates and the occasional conversation with her Lynx teammates.
Tash, Sab, Phee, and Court were all sitting in the trainers room when y/n walked in. She made her way to a cabinet, opened it up and grabbed some icy hot medicine before silently making her way back out. Sab squints, she hadn't really given much thought to y/n, other than when they played against each other in the W. "Am I crazy or does she only speak five words a day?"
Phee chuckles. She was maybe the only person who could get a decently long conversation out of y/n. "She talks. You just need to require her attention."
"I disagree. I tried to talk to her about the Tennessee game and she just hummed and nodded like she was listening." Tash argued, still very offended by that interaction with y/n, if you could even call it that. Court chuckles in amusement, "yeah, sounds like y/n. She ain't a fan of talkin' college basketball."
"What kind of person doesn't like college basketball?" Sab scoffs in disbelief.
"It's not that she doesn't like it. She just doesn't like conversations about sports in general. I caught her watching a soccer game and tried to ask about it, but all she did was turn it off and leave." Phee explained, not that her explanation made much sense either. What kind of athlete doesn't like talking sports? It was just unnatural.
"Do you know anything she does like to talk about? For future reference?" Sab asked. She planned to talk to y/n eventually. She was interested in getting to know her outside of her typical demeanor in basketball.
"The longest conversation I've gotten from her was about her horse named Seraphina. I'm guessing it's because she grew up on a farm." Phee answered, receiving a confused look from Tash. "Y/n grew up on a farm? That's- you're lying. No way. Since when?"
"Since birth. Was it not obvious? Do you not see the way she dresses? And the very obvious southern accent?" Court retorts.
Tash pursed her lips awkwardly, "...I thought she was just a really big Cowboy Carter fan. She wears a lot of Beyoncรฉ merch."
The next day, Sab was walking down the halls when she noticed y/n huddled up in the corner with some headphones, her laptop sitting on the floor in front of her. Out of curiosity, she sat next to her and laid her eyes on the laptop. She expected to see a sports game, not a video camera of horses. "Um..are those yours?"
Y/n glanced at her, silently wondering why she was talking to her. "Yes."
"Do they have names?"
She pointed to them as she spoke, "Seraphina, Khaleesi, and Nessee."
"Khaleesi? Like Game of Thrones?"
She just nodded, not returning a verbal response. She still wondered why Sabrina was still here...speaking words to her. "How'd you get Nessee?" She asked. "She's named after Tennessee." Y/n clicked off the app and shut her laptop, abruptly standing to her feet. She didn't say anything else, just tucking the laptop under her arm and leaving.
Tash happened to walk by at this exact moment and looked down at her Phantom teammate. "That go how you thought it would?"
Sab glanced up at her, eyes softening, "her voice is so pretty."
Tash frowned in confusion, wondering where that came from. "You talked to her for like two seconds."
"And I got nine beautiful words out of her mouth." She grinned, taking Tash's hand to stand up.
Y/n walked down to the practice court and sat down against the wall, just watching everyone, almost studying them. She still couldn't stop thinking about the farm back in Tennessee. She typically spent every off season back home taking care of the farm with her family. This was the first year she didn't do that.
Just when she thought she was alone in her thoughts, someone sat down next to her. It was Sabrina.
"Do you have chickens?" The blonde asked casually.
Y/n turned to look at her, confusion etched all across her features. "Why are you talkin' to me?"
Sab shrugged, "cause I want to."
"You never talked to me before."
"I could say the same to you," she shot back.
Y/n sighed, getting out of this was pointless. Sabrina was clearly not interested in leaving her alone. "We have lots of chickens, a bit too many if you ask me."
"I feel like I would've loved to grow up on a farm," Sab mumbled.
Y/n didn't believe that. Lots of people loved the farm aesthetic until it came down to the chores and responsibilities. She still didn't respond, just giving her a small nod of acknowledgement. Sabrina couldn't help but hate the lack of responses, and dry ones. "So, how'd you get into basketball if you grew up on a farm?"
She was still wondering why Sab was still engaging into conversation with her but she replied anyways. "My dad built a court to keep us engaged into different sports and I was just naturally good at it."
Sabrina's eyes brightened at the response. It was the longest sentence she'd gotten so far. "That's nice of him. I always wanted a full court in my backyard. What other sports did you play?"
"A bit of everything."
"Were you any good at soccer?"
"Yeah. I played on a boys team in middle school. I was better than all of 'em." She smirked at the memories. Those were some of her fondest times. She loved her time playing soccer. She just didn't love it as much as she loved basketball.
"I played soccer too. I think I could beat you at it," Sab smiled. She was silently freaking out that she got y/n to actually react positively instead of her normal emotionless expressions.
Y/n stood to her feet, and before walking off, she looked down at the blonde with a small smirk, "no you couldn't."

Sabrina was digging around in the fridge looking for the yogurt she put in there yesterday. "Who ate my yogurt?!" She looked around at the many players in the room.
Kayla chuckled, recalling the moment earlier when y/n grabbed the yogurt from the fridge even though it had Sabrina's name on it. "Y/n ate it."
Sabrina glanced back in the fridge, her eyes landing on the glass Tupperware containing spaghetti and meatballs. It didn't have a label on it. She pulled it out, "who's spaghetti is this?" Kate. pursed her lips, contemplating if she should tell her.
But Tip didn't seem to care as she snacked on her food, "that's y/n's. She said it's off limits."
"So was my yogurt." Sab muttered, pulling off the lid and putting the bowl into the microwave to heat up. If y/n was gonna carelessly eat her food, she was gonna do the exact same.
Later in the day, y/n walked into the room and immediately smelled her spaghetti in the air. She looked directly at Kate Martin, who she knew could not lie for the life of it. The blonde looked up at her nervously, "hey, y/n." Tip and Natisha shared a look, praying that Kate would just lie. Nobody wanted to see y/n pissed off. It never ended well.
"Who ate my spaghetti, Kate?"
Kate looked to her teammates for help and they were just shaking their head, mouthing for her to lie. "Um...Sabrina ate it."
Tip and Natisha sighed, and Kate frowned, watching y/n turn around and walk out. "I'm sorry, I couldn't do it. She's intimidating."
"Congratulations. You just got Sab killed." Tip deadpanned.
"Same woman who tried to square up with DT by the way." Natisha added, a little smile of amusement on her face.
Kate's face fell, "you think Sabrina's gonna be mad at me?"
Tip patted her shoulder sympathetically, "Nah, don't worry, everyone goes easy on you."
Y/n walked down the halls, and spotted Breanna, "you know where Sabrina went?" Stewie nods, gesturing to the practice court, "yeah, she's on the court."
Y/n nods and heads that way. She walked onto the practice court and spotted Sabrina sitting against the wall sipping on a BodyArmor. She stopped in front of her, crossing her arms over her chest as the blonde peered up at her. "You ate my spaghetti."
"You ate my yogurt," Sab retorts.
"I didn't know it was yours," she lied.
Sab scoffed, getting to her feet, "it literally had my name on it." Y/n rolled her eyes, already irritated with her. "Look, if you're so mad about it, let me take you out and buy you some more spaghetti," she proposed.
She squints in disbelief. "Why would I want to eat bland spaghetti from a restaurant?"
Brushing off the fact that she was completely rejected, she spoke. "Are you like Italian or something? You seem really offended by restaurant spaghetti."
Y/n sucked in a breath, trying her hardest not to go insane on this girl. "Just- don't touch anything of mine again, or they'll be consequences, blondie."
Sab pursed her lips as the woman turned around to leave, "...so that's a no on dinner?"
Tash walked over, seeing y/n walk out. She patted Sab's shoulder, the blonde clearly disappointed with the interaction. "We seriously gotta work on your game."
"What if she's just not attracted to me?" Sab asked with a visible frown.
Tash sighed, she didn't want Sab to think that way, but there was definitely a possibility about the blonde not being y/n's type. "Just give me a day, I'll do some diggin' on her. And if you need help with your game, I got you. I'm an expert at flirting."

The next day, Tash and Satou were in Sabrina's apartment after they dug up some info on y/n. "First things first, she is definitely gay- which we already knew." Tash said, receiving a nod from the pacing Sabrina. "Her interests are farming, dirt biking, racing, sports, horseback riding, music, karaoke, and cooking," Satou added, reading off the slideshow they presented on the TV.
"She was born in Tennessee, obviously raised on a farm. Her mom is from Texas. Her dad is from Tennessee. She has two older brothers, no sisters. She said in an interview that she has deep Italian roots through her mom's side." Tash continues, flipping to the next slideshow.
"That explains the spaghetti offense," Sab mumbles.
"We looked through her dating history...it's not much. She's a very private person. But, we found out she dated a cheerleader for a couple months in college." Satou nods, pointing at the picture of y/n with the blonde cheerleader at a pep rally.
"She also dated a softball player for a year. And, a girl on the track team." Tash continued as Satou pointed at the pictures. "Her dating history is very diverse to say the least. The only thing these woman have in common is that they're all athletes."
"Has she dated anyone recently?" Sab asked.
"So, I do remember seeing lots of relationship rumors about her and Kayla-"
"McBride?" Sab blinked in shock.
"Yes. I talked to Kayla yesterday and she said they dated for a couple months and broke up, but they're still friends." Sab sat down, taking in this information. She still wasn't sure how any of this would help her, other than the fact that she now knew she was y/n's type. "How does this help me get a date with her?"
Satou and Tash both shared a look and smirked. "If you were paying attention, you would see one of y/n's interests in karaoke."
Sab raised a brow, "what are you guys up to?"
"I'm glad you asked." Sa grinned, grabbing the bag she put on the couch and handing it over to Sabrina. "A couple of us ladies are going to karaoke tonight and y/n will be there, so you can make your move."
"What?!"

"Get ready with me and y/n for karaoke night. Yes, I am forcing her to be in this video." Marina smiled, throwing an arm around her Phantom teammate who she'd grown quite fond of over the time they've spent together. She reminded her a lot of Jackie, only...quieter, and more awkward. She nudged her arm, "say hi."
"Hi."
"Okay. Moving on. We just took showers. She's mostly ready, but I need to do my makeup and pick out an outfit." Marina rambled, chaotically pouring out a bag of makeup on her counter. Y/n just stood there and stared a camera as Marina rambled about what she was doing and putting on.
"Okay, outfit time guys." Marina walked into the living room, y/n following her around. "What are you gonna wear?" She asked, glancing over y/n's hoodie and sweats. Y/n walked over to her bag and pulled out some bellbottom jeans, a cute belt to go with it, some cowboy boots, and a top. "Oh wait, that's so cute. It's giving cowgirl. We love that."
After y/n changed into her outfit, she walked out to see Marina still struggling to put together a look. "Okay, what do you think of this?" She asked, referring to the skirt and top she had on. Y/n pursed her lips awkwardly, trying to be nice, "um...well, it's pretty. But- you look like a young mom with two kids who play soccer."
Marina didn't even reply, just quickly taking it off. "Fine. You dress me."
Y/n walked over to the couch where all the clothes were laid out and grabbed a pair of pants, and a cute top. Marina tried it on and y/n tugged the pants down just a bit so you could see the under armour band. "Which shoes should I wear?" Y/n immediately grabbed a pair heels and handed them to her.
She put them on and turned on her camera again. "Okay, y/n dressed me. Do we like it? I like it." Marina did a spin and pulled y/n back into the frame, the woman awkwardly standing there like a still emoji. "Y/n looks like a snack- an awkward one, but it's okay because we all love her." She wrapped her arms around her with a big smile, y/n still standing there with an awkward smile.
She patted her arm and grabbed her phone and purse. "Ready to go?"
They walked down to the car where their driver was waiting. Y/n made sure Marina was in there first before climbing in herself. When they got to the destination, Tash, Natisha, and Slim had all arrived at the same time. "I didn't know you liked karaoke," Slim spoke towards y/n.
She shrugged, "grew up on it."
They walked into the club, music echoing off the walls. They had all kinds of sections that people would rent out for groups of friends and such. In this case, Tash and Satou rented it out. Marina held onto y/n's arm as they walked through crowds of people, half of them being drunk. They got to their booth where everyone else was waiting for their arrival.
BG was singing Wannabe by Spice Girls when they walked in. Tash and Slim immediately started hyping her up as some others chuckled. "So tell me what you want, what you really, really want!"
Satou nudged Sab and she looked up to lay her eyes on y/n. She immediately stood up to greet her, though she couldn't help but notice Marina holding her arm. The blonde let go to join in on the singing and that's when Sab made her way over. "Hey, yogurt thief. I didn't know you liked karaoke."
Y/n turned and tried her best to remain normal but seeing Sab all dolled up in a tight black dress was making that really hard. She bit back a smile, focusing on the assumption. "Why does everyone keep askin' that?"
"Maybe 'cause you struggle to speak more than five words. Who would've thought you liked to sing 'em all along?" Sab teased, nudging her arm playfully.
Y/n chuckled, "okay, I suppose that's fair."
They walked over to a table and y/n poured herself some water. "What's your go to karaoke song?" Sab asked. Y/n grinned, she loved this question. "Easy. Cyndi Lauper. Girls Just Want to Have Fun."
"That's a good one."
"What about you?" Y/n shot back, taking a sip of her water.
"Is it bad that I don't have one. I'm not really a big karaoke person." Sab admitted, receiving a confused stare. "Wait- you don't like karaoke, but you're at a club for karaoke? I'm confused."
"I didn't say I don't like it! I just don't it very often," Sab corrected.
Marina walked over and shook y/n's arm excitedly, "you wanna do a duet?"
Y/n chuckled, nodding her head, "sure, why not?" Marina smiled and grabbed the laptop to put their names in the queue. Natisha ran over, looking over Marina's shoudler, "aye, put me and Tash on there for Hey Ya!." Y/n and Sab both laughed. Of course they would pick that song.
"I'm thinking This is How We Do It," Marina suggested, looking to y/n for confirmation.
"Sure thing. I'll be back. I need to be drunk for this." Sab downed her drink and set it down. "I'll go with you. I need another drink." Y/n just nodded, walking out with the blonde at her side. They approached the bar together and y/n quickly got the bartenders attention. "Can I get a bottle of whiskey for myself, and two more pitchers Miller lite for section 6?"
"Sure thing. You want the whiskey on that tab or separate?"
"Separate, and put whatever she wants on my tab." Y/n passed him her card that she only used for food and drinks. She knew she could've put the whiskey on the sections tab, but she wanted to make herself look good in front of the blonde.
He nods and turns to Sab who had smiled at the fact that y/n was paying for her, "and what can I get you?" She ordered a drink for herself and Satou and he immediately got started on making them their drinks.
A man suddenly approached them, mostly putting his attention on y/n. "Hey. Could I get you a drink?"
"I appreciate the offer but I'm quite spoken for," she said, quick to shut that down. It was the first time a man has made advances towards her. She'd gotten used to it at this point in her life.
He immediately assumed it was Sabrina and nodded in understanding. "I didn't realize. That's my fault. You ladies have a good night." She nods, actually respecting how he handled that. Most straight guys would've embarrassed themselves with continuous advances. She was grateful this one took the hint and wrapped it up.
Sab raised a brow, "spoken for?"
Y/n bit back a laugh, "yeah, that was a lie. I say the same thing every time I'm approached. You should try it. A guy's walking over to you right now." Sab looked behind her in confusion, and noticed a man walking over to her. He completely ignored y/n's presence, the woman now sipping on her whiskey. "Hey. You're really hot. Can I buy you a drink?"
Sab smiled awkwardly, "No. I have a girlfriend."
He shrugs, "that's fine with me. I don't mind a third."
Y/n silently groaned before putting an arm over Sabrina's shoulder and pulling her closer. "I'm not the sharin' type. So turn around and walk away before you embarrass yourself further." She turned Sab back around as the bartender set down her drinks.
She grabbed the pitchers in one hand and her whiskey in the other. "I didn't say it worked every time."
Sab was still trying to get over the fact that y/n had gotten so protective- though it could've just been an act. But other than that, she was quick to follow the woman back to their section. Satou was towards the end of Crazy In Love when they walked back in with the drinks.
Y/n put some ice in her glass and poured herself some whiskey. She added her name into the queue for Let Me Love You by Mario. Court entered the room and rushed over to her side. "Aye, I got somethin' for you cowgirl." Y/n looked up and Court placed a Cowboy hat on her head with a proud grin.
Y/n cracked a smile, picking off the hat to check it out. "Where you get this from?" She couldn't tell immediately off the bat that this hat was expensive. It wasn't a cheap one you got at Walmart. "Don't worry 'bout it. It's a gift." She hummed, placing it back on her head. "It's nice. Thanks."
Kayla walked over and they shared a friendly hug, "you gonna sing your usuals?"
"I've decided to switch it up. Love songs are my theme tonight." She explained, also pouring some beer into another glass to drink. She planned to get really drunk. "Who you singin' love songs for?" Court asked.
She scoffed, taking a sip of her whiskey. "I can't just be in the mood to sing love songs?"
"Nope."
Tash and Tish both added some choreo to their performance of Hey Ya!, and it was hilarious but enjoyable to watch. They were really proud of themselves. Y/n's eyes drifted over to Sab, who was chatting with Satou about what happened at the bar. Marina walked over to sit by them, "who are we talking about?"
"Nothing-"
"We're talking about y/n. She bought Sab drinks and basically told a guy to fuck off for flirting with her," Satou explained.
Marina's eyes widened, and she smiled, happy for the blonde. "That's so sweet of her."
Sab frowned in confusion, "wait- you're not mad?"
Marina returned the confused expression, "no? Why would I be mad?"
"I thought you came here together as like, a date."
She couldn't help but chuckle, shaking her head in objection to the idea. "Oh, definitely not. We just live on the same floor. That's why we came together. She's all yours."
Sabrina's eyes found y/n again, she grew bright red when she noticed the Cowboy hat she wore. She nudged the two woman repeatedly. "Oh, my god. She's wearing a hat. Do you see that? Who got her a hat? That's so hot."
Satou nudged her, "why are you still sitting here? Go flirt with your future wife." She encouraged. Sabrina smiled and stood back up, making her way to the table Y/n stood at with Courtney and Kate. "You gon' do a song, Sab?" Court asked.
"Oh- uh, no, I'm good. You don't wanna hear me sing." Sab chuckled softly.
"We got y/n and Kate here tryna sing us some country." Court adds as y/n was trying to decide between some songs. "I like a good country song." Y/n glanced up to meet Sab's eyes, surprised to hear she enjoyed country. "You got a favorite country song? Please don't say any Taylor Swift. It doesn't count. She's from Pennsylvania."
Kate chuckles, "why'd I hear Our Song in your playlist then?"
Y/n put a hand over her mouth, "you didn't hear that."
Sab snickered in amusement, taking a sip of her drink. "Well, right now, my favorite is Spaghetti by Beyoncรฉ. It reminds me of someone I know." Her eyes brightened, immediately catching onto what she hinted.
"You gotta pick a song she can actually sing. Nobody wants to hear y/n attempt to rap." Courtney input, causing y/n to look at her in offense. "Hey! I can rap!" She lied. "She's lying. Don't believe her. We all heard her tryna rap to 2Pac and our ears bled." Courtney said towards a very amused Sabrina.
"Favorite country song before Cowboy Carter came out?" Y/n questioned, leaning closer, eyes filled with interest.
Sab leaned in, a small smile gracing her glossed lips. "Tennessee Whiskey. Chris Stapleton."
"That's a good one." Kate grinned, quick to search up the song and add herself and y/n's name to the queue.
Y/n took a sip of her whiskey, nodding in agreement. "Solid choice."
Sab knew it was a good choice, but it was nice to hear y/n was impressed by it. "Thank you."
Before she knew it, y/n's was being snatched onto the stage by Marina for their duet. Y/n downed the rest of her beer, already feeling the effects of the alcohol. Marina had picked This Is How We Do It by Montell Jordan, a song everyone knew. "This is gonna be good," Kahleah laughs, pulling out her phone to get this on video.
"This is how we do it. It's Friday Night and I feel all right. The party is here on the West Side." Marina put an arm on her shoulder and continued as y/n was trying her hardest not to laugh. They both got really into the song, even dancing as they sang it. They were all so surprised to see y/n so loosened up and not being a stiff rock anymore.
After they were done, it was Courtney's turn. She chose Ice Ice Baby. I'm sure you can imagine how that goes.
Y/n walked back over to Sabrina, the blonde still trying to process that whole performance. "That was quite a performance. I'm impressed, really." Y/n held a hand to her heart dramatically, "aw, thanks, it was nothing. You should see me sing any Adele song. It changes lives."
She laughed lightly as y/n poured herself another drink. "I would really love to see that."
"Pick a song then. I'll sing it."
Sabrina loved Adele, and there was a certain song that she related very closely too. She shouldn't have let the title slip from her mouth, but she did. "Someone Like You."
Y/n hummed, a little curious as to why she jumped to say that song. Most people would've went with a different Adele song. "Is that one your favorite?" She questioned, adding her name to the queue again.
She took a sip of her drink, building up the courage to actually tell her. She usually hated talking about it. "Yeah. I just-- I can relate to it. Been through a similar situation."
"That sucks, I'm sorry."
She could tell she was really genuine, but still, she didn't want to bring the mood down. "It's okay. I'm long over it." Truth was, she wasn't completely over it. She had moved on, yes, but the heartbreak still lingered, and it probably always would.
When her name came up in the queue again, Arike and her fiancรฉ had pulled out the camera to record this. "Come on, cowgirl! Hit us with the notes!" When they found out she was attempting an Adele song, it was either gonna go really good or really bad. "If my voice cracks, delete that footage." Y/n mumbled, gaining some laughs from them.
The song ended with a very impressed audience. "Take a bow! You know you ate that," Kahleah encouraged.
She bowed dramatically, and that song must've gave her a rush of confidence because she walked over to Sab, prepared to ask her a very question. The blonde smiled at her, "that was very good. If you weren't playing basketball, you'd make a really good singer." She smiled at the compliment, and reached over to take her hand. "You wanna get outta here?"
Sabrina nodded without an ounce of hesitation. "Yes."
She took her hand and they pushed their way through the crowds of people to get out. Sabrina had the brightest smile on her face as she followed y/n down the street. She had no idea where she was taking her and she didn't really care, as long as she got to be with her. She pulled her across the street to a beach. "How'd you know there was a beach here?"
"I'm an observant person," she shrugs, stepping onto the sand.
Sab paused her steps, making y/n look back at her. "What's wrong?" Sab gestured to her high heels, "I'm gonna get sand in my shoes." Y/n rolled her eyes and walked over, hooking an arm under her legs and another around her torso. Sab couldn't shy away the grin that found her lips. "Who knew you were so strong?"
Y/n chuckled, setting her down into the sand. She kneeled down to undo the straps on her heels and pull them off. Then she pulled off her boots and set them into the side beside the pair of heels. "I was not expecting you to like the beach so much." She chuckles, taking y/n's hands to pull herself up. She pulled her down to the water excitedly. "We went to the beach all the time for vacation. I love the ocean."
Sab squealed when the water touched her feet, "oh, my god, that's so cold!"
Y/n grinned, leaning down to splash her with some of the water. "Hey!" Sab ran away with a small laugh. She turned around and noticed a soccer ball sitting in the sand. She immediately ran over to grab it, and since the beach was so empty she suspected someone must've left it on accident. "Hey, look what someone left behind! It's a sign!"
Y/n turned and raised a brow, "are you challengin' me?"
Sab immediately got cocky, nodding arrogantly, "yes, I am." Y/n walked over to her, taking the ball into her hands with a little smirk, loving how arrogant the blonde suddenly got. "Let's make a bet then. If I win..." Sab looked up, pretending to contemplate it, "I get a kiss."
Y/n bit back a smile, nodding her head, "okay, deal."
She picked up a stick to trace out a line for their goal. Sab frowned in confusion, "don't you wanna bet something?"
"Nope. That'd be takin' advantage." Y/n shook her head and that only made Sab even more determined to beat her. "We'll do best of three." She walked over, tossing the stick down. Sab tossed the ball into the air and was able to kick her way before getting around y/n to score. She cheered, pointing at her, "get your chapstick ready, cowgirl."
Y/n chuckled, running over to retrieve the ball. She brought it back and tossed it into the air. Sab jumped up to hit it with her head and ran around y/n to kick into the goal again. "Woo! I'm feeling like Beckham right now."
She brought the ball back and tossed into the air. Before Sab could even get near it, she hit it with her knee and turned, kicking it into the goal. Sab huffed, nodding slowly, "lucky shot." She got the ball and brought it back, tossing it up. Sab got it first, trying to get around y/n but she stole it and kicked it into the goal. Now it was a tie.
After the toss, Sab got it first and tried to kick it to the goal but y/n blocked it and stole it successfully. The blonde ran to steal it back but y/n easily maneuvered around her and kicked it to the goal for the win. Sab huffed, crossing her arms over her chest, "that was just luck. I totally had you."
"I'm sure you did, sweetheart." Y/n turned to her, she lifted the hat off and placed it onto Sab's head. With her finger, she nudged her chin upwards before leaning down to connect their lips softly. Pulling away, Sab was practically breathless, sliding an arm around her neck to bring her back down, "no, no, I need a little more."
Y/n smiled into the kiss, sliding her hands around her waist to bring her body closer. When they absolutely had to pull away for air, Sab didn't want their night to end here. She didn't wanna go back to her apartment by herself. She needed more time with her. She needed to get to know her more. "I could really go for some spaghetti right now..."
She couldn't fight her smile, nodding in agreement. "Come on. I'll make you some."
She wasn't at all joking either. She got them an Uber and they went back to y/n's apartment. "I have a pet rabbit-- I hope you ain't got allergies." She rushed out, flipping the lights on and shutting the door behind her. "Seriously? Where is it? Can I hold it?" Sab grinned, looking around for the rabbit.
"He likes to hide a lot." Y/n dropped down to look under the couch and he wasn't there. "Hold on, I'll find him." She chuckled awkwardly, running over to the room to look under the bed. He wasn't there either.
"I found him!" Sab called from the living room where he was hiding under some pillows propped up on the sofa. She scooped him up into her arms. "He's so cute. What's his name?" She looked over to y/n, the woman using the wall for stability as she pulled off her boots. "That's Clover."
"Hi Clover. You're so cute." She smiled, pressing little kisses to his head and he fully allowed it. "I'm stealing you later," she whispered to him.
"Did you want somethin' to drink?" She asked, stepping into the kitchen and turning on the water to wash her hands.
"A water is fine." Sab answered, moving to sit on the stool with Clover still in her arms. "Why is he named Clover?" Y/n walked over and set down a glass of cold water. "Uh, 'cause he's got a little patch of dark brown fur shaped like a clover." She pointed to the little spot and Sab adjusted him to see it, aweing at the detail. "That's so cute."
She got started on the food and Sabrina had gotten up to tour the apartment a little bit. She had all kinds of picture frames with her family and farm animals. She was clearly a family person. Y/n took a break from the kitchen to play some music on her record player. "You in the mood for anything particular?"
"No. You can choose." Sab set Clover down and he hopped up on the couch, curling up under the pillows again.
She pulled out a record, and it was Tracy Chapman's self titled album. She kept the volume at a quiet level, but loud enough for them to hear it going on in the background. "So, when you ate my spaghetti. Was it at least good?" She questioned, stepping back into the kitchen as Sab took a seat again.
"Life changing, actually. I still can't stop thinking about it. Is it a family recipe?" She asked, not that she needed the recipe when she could just have y/n cook it for her. "Yeah. It's my granddaddy's recipe. I'm like half-Italian. We take our food very seriously. Sorry for kinda freakin' out on you 'bout that. I shouldn't have ate your yogurt. Maybe I just wanted your attention."
Sab snaps her fingers, "yes! I knew you ate it on purpose! My brother told me I was insane and delusional!"
She chuckled softly in amusement, grabbing a plate out of the cabinet. "I think I'd get along with your brother." Sab took a sip of her water, nodding in agreement. "Considering he literally took your side on the spaghetti situation, I'm gonna have to agree with that."
"Like I said, we would get along." She smiled, serving some spaghetti and meatballs on the plate. "You wanna watch a movie?" Sab asked, getting up the stool as y/n grabbed two forks from the kitchen drawer. "What kind of movie?" She followed her into the living room and Sab picked up the remote to turn on the TV. She already felt quite comfortable in y/n's apartment.
"What's your favorite?"
She pursed her lips awkwardly, Sab raising a brow. "Um...I don't really watch movies."
Her jaw practically fell to the floor. "What? But- you named your horse after a Game of Thrones character," she deadpanned.
"That's a TV show," she corrected.
"Oh, my god. You're literally missing out so bad. Have you at least seen the Breakfast Club or Titanic?" She raised a brow, gently shaking her head. "Nope." Sab sighs in exasperation, sitting down on the couch. "Okay- what have you seen?"
"Um, most recently, I watched the new Bad Boys movie. Mostly 'cause I grew up on those movies with my brothers. And, I've seen Cadillac Records and Rocky. I typically just stick with shows, like the Walking Dead or Walker, Texas Ranger." Sab raised a brow at the last show choice, "the '93 show?" She nodded, taking a bite of the spaghetti. "Mhm. Grew up on it."
"Have you ever watched Twilight?"
"Is that the movie with sparkly white vampires?"
"That's the one. You seen it?"
She shook her head, "nope. But my cousin likes the movie. I liked the TV show." As Sab searched for the movie, she immediately knew y/n was talking about the Vampire Diaries. It seemed like she knew every show to exist. "How many shows have you watched?" She tried to think but it was really pointless. "Too many to count. My favorite one to rewatch is Fresh Prince, or Touched by an Angel. Depends on the mood I'm in."
"So you basically just watch shows instead of movies." Sab chuckled, moving to sit beside her, and not leaving much of any space between them. She wanted to be as close as possible to her. "Yes ma'am. Don't forget sports. I watch all kinds of sports too."
Sab turned to look at her, eyes glazing over her lips for a split second. "Trust me, I won't forget anything about you."
Y/n leaned over to set down the plate, moving in closer to the blonde, the movie still playing in the background. "You still wanna watch the movie?" Sabrina found herself shaking her head, tongue running over her lips as she peered into her eyes. "No."
She had to bite back a smirk, "give me a second." She got up and grabbed the plate, walking back to the kitchen to put in the fridge for later. She returned and held out hand to the blonde. "Come on." Sab wasted no time getting up and taking her hand, a small yelp escaping when y/n suddenly picked her up and carried her down to the bedroom.
She set her down on the bed and Sab chuckled softly, "what about Clover?"
"He's asleep." She shrugged, glancing at the slightly creaked open door. He didn't bother making his way inside like usual so that signaled he was either asleep out there or he knew what was up and wanted to protect his peace.
She leaned down to kiss her until Sab stopped her. She furrowed her brows in concern, "is it too fast? We can stop-" she almost felt bad for confusing her, but she had to ask or she'd probably regret it in the morning. "Can you wear the hat?"
The grin that found her lips was cocky, but so fucking attractive. She didn't respond verbally, instead, stepping out of the room to grab the hat and return with it on. "Like this, baby?" Sab got up and immediately pulled her down to connect their lips. It was fierce and passionate. It quite literally took her break away.
"Just like that."
