They spoke highly of each other. Words always filled with admiration and respect.
It only took one game to break them.
They were freshmans when it happened. Y/n a Lady Vol. A'ja a Gamecock. Tennessee versus South Carolina. Let's take a trip back to that night.
Before the game, they shook hands, all smiles when greeting each other. "It's so nice to meet you. I feel like we're always missing each other." A'ja chuckled, bringing her into a hug, cameras shined on the two stars. "Right? It's good to finally meet you." Y/n grinned, hands lingering on her waist, ignoring the calls of her teammates.
"I gotta get your number after this. We can trade notes." A'ja said, her teammate taking her hand to pull her along but she wasn't budging until y/n agreed. "Oh yeah, I got you baby." She nods, the two sharing smiles before they were pulled away from each other.
The first quarter was relatively calm. Then they jumped to the second. It slowly grew more competitive. Y/n was absolutely battering A'ja in the paint. The third is where she opened her mouth to talk her shit. She was getting under A'ja's skin with every play. She held her to eleven points. She wouldn't let her breathe at all. Everywhere she looked, y/n was staring right at her.
The fourth came, A'ja's guard passed her the ball and she tried a spin move into a fadeaway only for y/n to block it, hyping up the crowd with her taunts. "Fuck outta here man."
The next play, A'ja fouled her and she got the and 1. The crowd cheered, her teammates grinning. "And 1! This my house baby!"
"So fuckin' extra." A'ja muttered, hands on her hips, annoyed with her.
Tennessee got the win. Y/n ending with 25 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists, and 1 steal. She held A'ja to 14 points in the end. It was a good game for her. A good game for her team. They really needed the win after their last loss.
She always left it on the court, so obviously she was still gonna try and talk to A'ja after to get her number. She wasn't shy about liking her. A'ja turned to her, her teammates immediately walking away, and two lingering to eavesdrop. "Don't even talk to me. You actually have fucking issues. I literally want nothing to do with you."
She was completely confused. "What?" A'ja rolled her eyes, walking away, leaving her there confused and a little hurt.
That game formed the rivalry everyone knew today. Still, nobody could understand why they hated each other so much. Their playing styles were similar. Their personalities should've clashed perfectly. It was strange. And they never bothered to answer questions why.
It even carried into the WNBA, when y/n got drafted 2nd overall to the Chicago Sky and A'ja to the Las Vegas Aces. It was war anytime they played each other. Not even their teammates understood it. Especially not y/n's teammate, Candace Parker. But that's not important right now. Right now, y/n was worried about Candace. She had felt her growing a bit more distant from the team and it worried her.
Then she woke up to the news that Candace was signing with the current champions, the Las Vegas Aces for the 2023 season. She didn't waste a second driving to her house and banging her fist on that front door. Candace pulled it open after a couple of loud knocks. "Okay, you gotta chill. Why you knockin' on my door like the police?"
"Why you ain't tell me you was leavin'?"
Candace sighed, pulling open the door wider to let her inside. "Because I knew you would convince me not to." Y/n kicked off her shoes and coat, plopping down on the couch like it was her home. "Yeah exactly. Out of all fuckin' teams? Wilson? Really? What? Am I not good enough? I don't get enough rebounds or somethin'?"
"Don't start. She has nothing to do with this. I wasn't just thinking about myself when I made this decision." Candace defended, already knowing y/n was gonna bring A'ja up. She always got a little jealous when Candace spoke highly of A'ja.
"So who were you thinkin' of? 'Cause it couldn't have been me. You know damn well I can't do this shit without you. I was a fuckin' mess before you came to Chicago." Candace frowned, taking a seat and wrapping her arms around her. Y/n was like the little sister she never asked for but loved with all her heart. "I know, I know. But, seriously, I was really thinking about you."
"What for?"
Candace sighed softly, rubbing her back gently. "I don't know how many years I have left, y/n. You only stayed in Chicago for me. So, I'm hoping...you'll follow me to Vegas."
Y/n eyes widened, that thought not even coming across her mind. That was the last thing she expected to hear. "You're...you're joking, right?"
"Come on, y/n. Think about it. When I'm gone, you're gonna need a team, a family, and Chicago isn't it. You're already friends with majority of the women on that team. You were just talking about leaving Chicago.." She scoffed, standing up to her feet to pace back and forth. A habit she had when she got anxious. "When I talked about leaving, I meant like LA or Seattle, maybe even Phoenix. Not Vegas. Never Vegas."
"What's wrong with Vegas?"
"You know exactly what's wrong with Vegas!"
"Oh, my god." She groaned, running a hand over her face in exasperation. "Answer me this. Besides Wilson, give me one good reason Vegas is bad for you?"
"A'ja Wilson."
"I said besides her!"
"There isn't a world where that bitch isn't in Vegas! I will not give in to this stupid Wilson and Y/l/n duo the fans are trying to force onto us. I want no part of her world. I told you this a million times, Candace." They stood quiet, nobody daring to speak, the tension far too thick. Her behavior towards A'ja was still beyond frustrating. She always thought the hatred was a bit much.
"I really hate that I have to pull this card on you..." y/n raised a brow, praying this wasn't going where she thought this was. "Don't do it."
"You remember when I paid for your mom's funeral.."
"You 'bout to piss me off real bad."
"I'm sorry. I really didn't wanna have to do this. I gotta pull out the favor card." She took a breath, taking a seat on the floor. Candace stayed quiet, giving her time to process this. She wasn't gonna say no to her. "I'm not gonna be her friend."
"I'm not asking you to."

"How you feel about y/n joinin' the team?"
A'ja sighs, leaning back into her chair as she thought of a response to Syd's question. "I don't know. I mean- Candace literally called me and told me, and I still have no idea how to feel about it. I don't think her coming to the team is gonna make me magically like her. But, I'm also not gonna throw a big ass fit about it. We're not kids anymore. We can be civil."
"What if she feels differently about that?" Kelsey asked.
"Then she can cry about it. She's pretty damn good at that." A'ja shrugged.
Y/n walked in at the perfect timing, catching what she said. "Callin' me a crier is crazy. Like you ain't whine like a bitch after I beat you." A'ja turned to look at her, everyone nervous. She scoffed, just seeing y/n's face was enough to annoy her. "So me wanting nothing to do with your nasty ass attitude is whining? Good to know."
Candace tried to pull her along to their lockers but y/n's wasn't letting her get the last word. "You wasn't sayin' shit 'bout my attitude when you asked for my number."
A'ja raised a brow, not sure why she was mixing up the real facts. "I think you're forgetting that I asked before I discovered how much of a selfish bitch you were."
Y/n was pushed down into the chair by Candace, pointing a finger at her new teammate. "See that's how I know you full of shit 'cause I'm far from selfish."
"Alright, that's enough. As entertaining as this is, I'm not in the mood to break up a fight." Candace input, opening the doors to her locker to set her stuff down. Kelsey grins, very entertained by all of this, "really? I think they should just go at it right now. Get all that anger out on the first day before it boils over."
Y/n smiled. "I like her."
Kelsey winks with a playful smile, "take me out to dinner first babygirl."
"Hey, you said I could flirt with her first. We agreed on this." Syd argued, leaning over to hit Kelsey's arm. "I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself. She's too fine. You see that ass?"
"See, you make it really hard to believe you're straight." Syd retorts, and she just shrugged in response.
"Y'all are way too thirsty." A'ja added, not surprised by their behavior in the slightest.
Kelsey grins, leaning in to get closer to y/n's whose locker wasn't too far from hers. "Are you single?" Y/n chuckles, glancing at Candace who was completely confused by all of this. "Yes, I am."
Kelsey was beyond upset and disappointed. She couldn't hide it at all. "That's a shame. You're too fine to be single. If I was gay, I'd be on that."
She smiled, nodding at her sweet words, "thank you."
"You're welcome."
A'ja got up to leave, "this is so weird."
Syd waves it off. "Ignore her. She's homophobic."
"If she is, so am I because what was that?" Candace deadpanned, gaining a couple of snickers in response. "You're just jealous I'm getting attention." She teased, hitting her arm lightly. She rolled her eyes, "you're always rubbing it in. We get it. You're a catch. Doesn't explain why you've been single for three years."
"Hey! It's by choice!"
"Is it?"
The first day of practice, the coaches collectively decided to put A'ja and Y/n on the same team and just jump right into it. They wanted to see if there was any kind of chemistry they could work with. Candace pulled y/n to the side, the woman visibly annoyed with the coaches decision. "Just remember this. Pass the ball. Play smart. Don't think about her. Think about basketball." She didn't give a verbal response, just nodding and walking away. That's what worried Candace.
She wasn't ready for the chaos that was about to happen if y/n and A'ja couldn't go about this with grace.
It started off slow at first. Y/n had undeniable chemistry with the point guards, which was not surprising. As a big, you depended on your guards and she did that with excellence. She truly loved her pgs. After a little timeout, Natalie and Becky encouraged Candace and Kiah to pressure A'ja and Y/n under the basket. They needed them to use each other. To be teammates. The only way to do that was defense.
Getting back into it, Candace was excessive on the defense. She wasn't letting her open for shit, even taking the chances to foul her because this was practice so it wasn't like she'd get a whistle. All as Becky was shouting for her to pass out to a more open A'ja. She backed up into Candace and threw it out to Syd instead. That was not what they wanted and it only proved that y/n was purposely ignoring A'ja's presence on the court.
They kept going. Kelsey was purposely passing to y/n and A'ja to force them to work together. Candace and Kiah both double teamed A'ja and she still tried to spin and shoot the jumper rather than pass to y/n. She rolled her eyes when A'ja missed. She caught the rebound and got the putback. "Think she Captain America of basketball," she muttered.
They kept going like this, their coaches yelling at them to pass and they did, to the point guards. It was getting frustrating for both of them. Through one possession, A'ja purposely ignored y/n to get the layup herself. The next play, y/n was triple teamed, leaving A'ja open at the three point line. She ignored her waves and tried to shoot over them, completely missing.
Kelsey smiled, knowing exactly what was about to come the second she seen A'ja's jaw clench. "It's about to get spicy in here. They're either gonna kiss or fight."
They were supposed to take a breather. Y/n and A'ja didn't seem to get the memo when they began walking up to each other. "What the fuck is your problem? Do you need glasses? I was wide open for that three." Y/n laughed in her face, only further angering her. "I'd shoot over a hundred NBA players before I pass you the ball on a three. You know damn well all it's gon' do is bounce off the rim and leave me cleanin' up yo mess."
"Okay so you're admitting you're purposely ignoring me out there all because I rejected your ass in freshman year." A'ja shot back, crossing her arms over chest like she won something. "Ain't nobody reject me. You asked for my number, not the other way around. Don't be tryna rewrite history 'cause you a sore ass loser."
Candace walked over to deescalate, putting a gap between them. "What did I tell you? I said pass the fuckin' ball. It is not that hard, y/n." She rolled her eyes, Chelsea scolding A'ja as well. "Plum, pass me a ball." Candace held her hand out and Kelsey threw over a ball like requested.
"Alright. Here's what we're gonna do." She pulled them to the side off the court, Coach allowing all of this to happen. She didn't care what Candace did. As long as it worked. "You're gonna pass this ball back in forth until all you know how to do is pass to each other."
"I'm not doing that."
"Yes you are." Candace shoved the ball into her hands and pointed to A'ja, gesturing for her to pass it.
"This is so stupid." She muttered, passing the ball to A'ja and she rolled her eyes before passing it back.
"Keep it up." Candace pats their backs before returning to practice with the others.
They made them keep passing it through practice, both of them upset about not being able to play. "This is your fault," A'ja mumbled, both of them watching practice while passing it. "I'm not even entertaining you."
After a while, their arms were getting tired. "Candace! My arms hurt! How much longer?" She complained, aggressively passing the ball back and A'ja did the same. "You gonna pass to A'ja tomorrow?" Candace asked, a smile on her face as a ball was tucked under her arm.
"Yeah, I'll pass the ball. Can we stop now?"
"I guess you can." They sighed in relief, A'ja immediately dropping the ball.
Y/n immediately headed for the exit, exhausted physically and mentally. "I need a fuckin' drink."

It was a little later in the day, almost night time when y/n returned to the facility after hours to get some practice in after spending the first one playing hot potato with A'ja. And of course, A'ja had the same idea. She paused, eyes landing on the woman getting in some practice shots. She rolled her eyes, making her way to the other half of the court. They didn't bother acknowledging each other.
Up until A'ja boldy made the choice to walk up to her. "Why couldn't you have just gone literally anywhere else? Why here? Why Vegas?"
Y/n scoffed, dropping the ball from her hands. "You think I wanted to come here? I didn't have a choice."
"We all have a choice."
"Oh yeah?" She stepped closer to her, A'ja not moving back either. "You try turnin' down the woman who covered your mom's funeral 'cause you couldn't afford it. I'm here for Candace, and Candace only. This ain't never been about you or your damn championship. I'm not here to ring chase. I'm here to play beside Candace before she hangs it up. And once she does? I'm outta here."
"Good. I'm glad."
She cracked a smile, running her tongue over her lips. "I'm sure you are Ms. MVP."
A'ja exhaled, hating when y/n looked at her like that. Obviously she hated her, but she could never deny the attraction there. It had been there from day one. "Don't look at me like that."
She grinned, tilting her head, a playful glint in her eyes. "Aw. I make you nervous, Wilson?"
She scoffed, walking away from her to pick up the ball. "Shut up."
"You keep on tryin' me. Watch that mouth." A'ja aggressively passed the ball to her, attitude still clear as day. "Or what? You know you not 'bout to do shit."
Y/n chuckled, always taking everything as a joke when it was just them. That was something A'ja always noticed. She put up a front around everybody else but when it was just them, one on one, she was soft. All bark, no bite. "For someone who wanted me first, you sure ain't movin' that way."
A'ja scoffed, holding a hand on her hip, "Hold up- who said I wanted you first?"
"Oh, so we just gon' act like you ain't ask for my number five seconds after meeting?" She deadpanned.
"I didn't know asking for your number was equivalent to asking you out." A'ja retorts sarcastically, only making y/n's smile widen. It was so hard to hate that pretty smile. "Oh it ain't. But it is when you checkin' me out while you do it." A'ja raised a brow, not expecting her to be so bold about it but then again, it wasn't surprising. She always spoke her mind. "Alright. Let's not rewrite history now."
She grinned, holding her hands up in mock surrender. "What I do?"
"We really finna act like your hands wasn't glued to my waist? Your teammates had to drag you away for you to let me go." Y/n squints, surprised she remembered that. It was a long time ago, but still, she remembered every detail. "How you know that?" A'ja smiled, loving when she had one up on her. "You do realize it's all over the internet, right?"
"Oh."
"That's what I thought. Actin' like it was all me. The feelings were mutual."
She perked up, not even worried about practicing right now. "So, you admit there was feelings?"
She groaned, head falling back in exasperation. "You're twistin' my words! You know I didn't mean it like that."
"How did you mean it then?"
"We're not doin' this." A'ja picked up the ball, ready to get back to work instead of entertaining this back and forth.
"That's fine. We can do it another day."
A couple weeks went by. A'ja and Y/n still weren't friends, nor did they like each other. But, they were civil with each other. They passed. They worked together to get buckets and defended each other on the court. Off the court? An entirely different story. It was still better than nothing. The coaches were satisfied with it, as long as they were working together.
There was just one thing the coaches didn't see that their teammates did. They saw the looks, the touches, the tension. It was clear as day in the locker room. Candace didn't believe them until they showed her the video of y/n and A'ja first meeting in college. That's when she starting buying into the stuff her teammates were saying. She slowly began picking up the signs after that.
Did she support it? Absolutely. The whole team did. Even the mascot.
Lately, there had been an argument with Y/n and A'ja during practice that completely fucked up their dynamic on the court. Their teammates had to do something about it or they'd lose this next game.
So, as y/n and A'ja were sleeping on the bus, they all gathered with Becky, Natalie, and Tyler to discuss options. "I think we should just force them to make up." Candace shrugged, a couple of them agreeing. Kelsey shook her head with a scoff. "No way. We can't force it. That'll just make it worse. We gotta make them figure it out on their own."
"What do you suggest we do matchmaker?" Candace teased, receiving a little chuckle from her.
Kelsey wore a sheepish smile, "I was thinking forced proximity."
"What does that mean?"
"Y'all ain't never read a romance book?" She deadpanned. "Forced proximity is like one of the best tropes ever."
"KP's onto somethin'. I say we make them share a room." Syd added, receiving an approving smile from her teammate. "Share a room? You guys don't think that's a bit much?" Becky asked, looking around to see who disagreed. None of them seemed.
Candace leaned in, "let's put it to a vote. Whoever disagrees, raise your hand." They looked around, and the only ones who raised their hands were the coaches. Kelsey and Syd grin, high fiving quietly. "We win."
"If they kill each other over body wash, you're all running suicides." Becky stated firmly.
Getting to the hotel, Becky was passing out keys, hiding one of them so she only had one left to make it look like they had to share. "Sorry girls. They're short on rooms. You're gonna have to share." She explained, setting the key card in A'ja's hand and walking away. "Becky?! You cannot be serious!"
Y/n rubbed her eyes tiredly, already in a bad mood. "I hate my life."
After spending the next 30 minutes begging their teammates to switch, and receiving hard no's, they headed up to their room. Y/n pushed open the door and stepped inside. She froze just a couple steps in. "This isn't a dream anymore. This is a nightmare. Wake up y/n. Come on." She smacked her face and tried to pinch herself, convinced she was asleep.
"As if my week couldn't get any worse." A'ja muttered, setting her stuff down.
Y/n tossed her stuff down. "This has to be some form of punishment."
A'ja scoffs under her breath, picking out some clothes to shower. "And if it is, it's your fault."
"I ain't doin' this shit wit' you. I'm out." She pushed past A'ja to get to the door, tucking her phone into her pocket. "Where you goin'?"
"To spend my time with someone I actually like."
A'ja frowned, the door shutting on her. What did she even mean by that? Was it a friendly hangout or a date? And who the fuck was it with? She spent the next few hours just thinking about, rotting in bed, watching TV and eating takeout. Then she seen y/n posted on her Instagram and decided to go check, obviously on her burner account so she didn't know. She was hanging out with Kia Nurse. She didn't even know they were friends.
The first picture was just them at a baseball game. The second one, Kia was kissing her cheek in a selfie. That one may have burned a flame of jealousy in A'ja's chest. Her mood was completely ruined, again. It wasn't until late at night when y/n came back. She pretended to be asleep, hearing her shuffle around the room. She gathered clothes and took a shower before coming back out and taking a seat on the sofa in the corner. She scrolled on her phone, brightness low, airpods in so she didn't disturb A'ja's sleep.
A'ja couldn't hold it in any longer. She had to say something. "You have fun with your girlfriend?"
Y/n perked up, immediately pulling out her airpods to listen to her. "Excuse me?"
"I didn't even know you and Kia were friends." She mumbled, sitting up, arms crossed over her chest. She was internally fuming. "I'm friends with a lot of people. I just keep my life private." She answered casually. Way too calm for A'ja's liking. "You keep your girlfriend private?"
"Girlfriend?"
"Don't play dumb. I seen your story. Got Kia all up on you." A'ja muttered in a petty, sour tone.
She raised a brow, immediately picking up on her attitude, and jealousy. "Kia ain't my girl."
Her eyes softened momentarily, feeling a little embarrassed now but it didn't explain why they were so close and touchy. "She's not?" She shook her head, pulling her knees up to her chest. "Nope. I don't got a girl. Not yet."
"Oh. Okay. Sorry- I just assumed.."
"You good." She reassured softly.
The room filled with silence, a short one because A'ja broke it pretty fast. "You know they put us in here on purpose right?" Y/n chuckles, nodding her head softly. "Yeah, I figured that. Ion know what they expectin' us to do 'cause I ain't apologizin' for shit."
A'ja scoffed, "well I ain't apologizin' either. You smacked me in the face not the other way around."
"See that's why you're the problem 'cause you knew I didn't do that shit on purpose. I was goin' for the block. You just wanna play victim to make me look like the bad guy. Just like you did in college." She was baffled. A'ja could not believe she said that. It wasn't the truth at all. "Excuse me? How was I playing victim? You was attackin' me the whole game and expectin' me to hug up on you after it."
"That's literally just how I play! I've always been competitive. I've always talked shit. But I leave it on the court. You the one who took it personal. And now that I look back at it, even if you did get my number, you couldn't handle me." She argued, once again leaving A'ja baffled and offended. "Excuse me? No, it's the other way around. You couldn't- and can't handle me."
"That's bullshit." She laughed loudly, running her hand down her face in pure disbelief. She couldn't believe it. "I can handle you and you know that. You the type to get weak at the knees from a cheek kiss."
"That's cap. My knees are strong." A'ja replied weakly, refusing to look at her because she knew she wasn't wrong. She hated when she was right.
"Prove it. Stand up." It was embarrassing how fast she got off the bed. Y/n wanted to smirk, but resisted so she didn't irritate her more. She got up from the sofa and walked over, A'ja holding her head up high like she had something to prove. They were face to face, and slowly did she place her hand on A'ja's waist. She slipped her fingers beneath the fabric of her hoodie, fingers brushing over her bare skin, sending shivers down her spine.
"That's cheating," she whispered weakly.
"You never said there was any rules." She mumbled back, sliding her hand to her lower back, guiding her body into hers, no room left between them. She slowly leaned in, dodging her lips and cheek. She pressed her lips against her neck to trail slow sensual kisses down it. A'ja sighed softly at the feeling, already weak in the knees. She slowly inched back up to her cheek, pressing a kiss there and A'ja fell back onto the bed, bringing y/n down with her.
"I hate when you're right." She muttered, grabbing her face to smash their lips together.
She grabbed onto her hoodie and they broke away to pull it off. A'ja brought their lips back together, high on her kiss. If she knew she was this good, she would've kisser her a lot sooner. Her hands were everywhere, feeling on her chest, down to her waist to slide her fingers into her shorts. She tugged them down her legs, her panties right with them. A'ja didn't stop her. She wanted this.
"You're still annoying," she mumbled against her lips.
Y/n cracked a laugh, that cute, contagious laugh she had. "Be forreal, you know you love it."
She huffed, pretending to be annoyed as if that didn't give her butterflies. "Shut up." Y/n nods, moving down her body, spending time on her chest. Her breath hitched, a soft, surprised moan spilling past her lips as her mouth found her nipple. Her head fell back against the pillow, y/n's knee between her legs only adding to the pleasure as she grinded against it. Then y/n's hands were pressing her hips into the mattress to keep her still. "I didn't say you could do that."
A'ja huffed, "That's not fair. You always tryna tell me what to do."
"Keep on tryin' me, A'ja. See where it gets you."
A'ja smiled, looking up at her with those soft eyes, "so you do know my name."
"Be quiet." She rolled her eyes, moving back down her body, trailing kisses down her stomach. She ignored where she wanted her most, a huff escaping A'ja's lips again. She pressed kisses against her inner thigh, dangerously close before moving to her other thigh, taking her time. She was painfully slow with her actions. But it was good.
Her hips twitched, a desperate whine leaving her throat. She gave in, dragging her tongue through her folds in a long stroke. "This was long overdue." She whispered, hooking her arms around her thighs to keep them spread and open for her. A'ja assumed she was gonna go slow, like she had been doing the whole time. Oh, how wrong she was.
She ate her out like she was making up for the years of them beefing. A'ja gasped, gripping the sheets for dear life, her mouth hot, tongue relentless as she circled her clit. Her hips jerked, choked out moans leaving her throat, unable to put any words together. She lowered one of her hands to grab a handful of her braids.
A'ja could've sworn she was starving. With the way she was going, she felt like she was the only thing that could fully satisfy her. She almost wanted to scream at herself for rejecting her when she could've had this for years. It was ridiculous. If she knew she moved like this, she wouldn't have been nearly as dramatic as she was that night. And this was just her mouth. Imagine what else she could do.
She slid her hands down, digging her nails into her shoulders, needing something to hold on to as she felt her climax nearing. "Fuck. Right there. Don't stop." She didn't stop. Didn't hesitate with A'ja trembling under her, thighs tightening around her, nails digging into her skin. "Let go for me, A." She whispered, rubbing her thighs softly.
She fell apart, voice cracking as she cried out her name. Her hips jolted forward, climax ripping through her sharply and suddenly. Y/n came back up, rubbing her thighs gently as she came back down. She pressed a kiss to her knee, other hand holding onto A'ja's. "I'll give you more after the game. Can't break you before it."
A'ja raised a brow, "who said I wanted more?"
She wasn't phased by her, pressing another kiss to her other knee. "The body never lies." She moved back up, pressing a soft peck to her lips and A'ja couldn't fight her smile. "Besides, if you think I'm letting you go after this, you're crazy. You gon' be my girl one way or another."
The butterflies returned, a small smile curling up her soft lips. "What if I still hate you?"
She shrugs, pressing another kiss to her cheek. "I'll live with it."
A'ja brushed her braids behind her shoulder. "I like this side of you."
"Good. You're the only one who gets to see it." She felt A'ja's hands wander, slipping underneath her shirt, bringing suspicion out of her. "What are you doing?"
A'ja suddenly flipped her over, a smirk curled up at the corner of her lips. "I hope you didn't think I was some kind of pillow princess." She gulped, growing a little nervous now. "You don't still hate me, right?"
She smiles, eyes filled with mischief, like she was ready to finally get her lick back. "We'll just have to see, won't we?"
"Can I say sorry first?"
"You'll know when to say sorry."
Twenty minutes later, her fingers were deep inside her, slow but rough. She kept changing the pace, not allowing her to get off yet. Edging her the whole time. She was a mess beneath her, A'ja's lips attached to her nipple, fingers moving inside her at the same time. "A-A, fuck, please. I'm sorry- I'm sorry. You know I didn't mean all that shit I said. Come on, please. It's too much."
A'ja pulled away with a satisfied smile, loving everything about this. "You really should've been nicer to me."
"Baby- come on, I said sorry. Fuck." She whimpered, trying to grind into her hand but it was pointless with A'ja's hand pressing her down.
"I guess you did..." as she was about to finally give her what she wanted, the door was knocked on.
Y/n's eyes widened, A'ja's fingers pulling out of her. "No- no, A'ja! Fuck!" She hit the mattress in frustration as A'ja ignored her, getting up and pulling on a robe.
"Coming!" She walked over to the door and pulled it open enough for her to peek her head out. It was Kelsey. "Yes?"
"Don't get me wrong- I love that y'all are good again. But can y'all please..please, keep it down? I need to sleep." She voiced, bags under her red, exhaustion filled eyes.
A'ja pursed her lips awkwardly, nodding her head. "My bad. We'll keep it down."
"Thank you. Goodnight..whenever that is for y'all." A'ja nodded, mumbling an apologetic 'goodnight' back.
