The car stopped in front of the apartment complex reserved for all the Unrivaled players & staff. "Would you like me to get your bags?" The driver's questioned, glancing at her in the rear view mirror. "Nah, I got it. Thank you for the ride." She handed him some cash as a tip and stepped out. She opened the trunk and grabbed her two suitcases with the duffle bags hooked on the top of them.

As she did that, another car had pulled up, and she wasn't paying much attention to who stepped out. Instead, she made her way to the front door and they let her inside the building. She got to the front and got her keys for her apartment, not paying attention to the person waiting behind her. Up until she got to the elevator, when she stepped inside, she turned and that's when she was faced with Alyssa Thomas.

Alyssa didn't say anything, but they both had looks of displeasure. She stepped inside with her own luggage and y/n pressed the button to her floor. She noticed Alyssa didn't even attempt to hit a button so that brought her to the conclusion that they shared a floor. "Same floor?" She internally smacked herself for even speaking.

"Yeah," Alyssa mumbled back in response, casually leaning back against the elevator wall.

When it stopped on their floor, y/n went out first and searched the door numbers for her apartment, and she could feel Alyssa still behind her probably doing the same thing. She finally located hers and unlocked the door, but as she pushed her luggage inside, she could hear the door across hers unlock. And being her nosy self, she turned to see who it is. Tell her why they decided it was a good idea to put Alyssa Thomas across her?

"This some bullshit." She muttered under her breath, stepping into her apartment and shutting the door.

The next day, she got dressed and headed to the facility to see the jerseys and get ready for media day. She got to see her former teammates Angel, and of course Marina. She wasn't re-signing with the Chicago Sky this year. She was basically under free agency so she was assessing her options. "Now that you're a free agent, you should come to the Sun," Marina suggested, missing the time they got to play together.

"Yeah, that's never gonna happen," she chuckled, and Marina frowned, "just say you don't love me anymore."

"Drama queen," she playfully shoved her off before they had to go separate ways. She walked into the Laces locker room, and of course, her locker was right next to Alyssa's. As she set her stuff down, she got a small tap on her shoulder, so she turned to see her blonde teammate. "Hi. I feel like we've never been properly introduced. I'm Kate. I'm really excited to be teammates with you. I literally love you- I mean- not like that, but you know what I mean!"

"I know what you mean. I'm Y/n. It's nice to properly meet you, Kate." She smiled warmly, shaking the blonde's outstretched hand.

She sat down and replied to her mother's texts as she waited for it to be their turn to get their makeup and hair done for photos. Alyssa walked in soon after Jackie and Kayla, she immediately noticed where her locker was located, and honestly, it deeply bothered her but she remained silent. Y/n offered a smile smile to Jackie and Kayla but still stayed quiet. She was always very closed off and quiet. She only spoke if it was necessary.

As everyone was talking, she still remained quiet, but that didn't mean she wasn't listening. She notice how Alyssa had pushed her chair a little bit farther from hers. It didn't bother her none. If Alyssa hadn't done it, she would've done it first. "You liking Miami so far?" Tip asked, a little amused by the tension between y/n and Lyss.

"It's okay...a little loud," y/n replied with the smallest shrug of her shoulder.

"Everything's loud to you," Alyssa mumbled in a slightly petty tone.

Y/n turned her head, a scowl curling it's way up her lips, "I don't think anybody was asking you."

"Does it look I care?" Alyssa shot back with a smallest smirk curled up her lips. She truly loved to get under her skin.

"I see y'all still got beef," Kayla exhaled at the tension, sharing a look with Stefanie.

"Whatever." They both muttered in disdain, turning back away from each other.

"Y/n! Can you be in our tiktok?!" Kate requested with a hopeful smile.

"No."

"Well. I tried y'all." Kate pursed her lips and shrugged at the camera.

As she leaned over to tie her over shoe, Alyssa walked over and picked up the basketball by her feet. "That's my ball," y/n argued, getting up and grabbing her shoulder to turn her around. "Get another one," Alyssa shrugged. She scoffed at her audacity, "no. You can't just take my ball. I had it first, go get your own."

Alyssa scoffs, raising a brow, "make me."

Y/n grabbed onto the ball, hooking her arms around it and Lyss tugged on it back so now it just became a tugging contest. "Let go." She grunts, and they fell to the floor, still fighting over the ball to the point their teammates and staff ran over to intervene. "Both of y'all let go right now," Tip scolded, taking the ball and she counted to three which made them finally release it.

"There are plenty of basketballs to go around. There's no reason for fighting," Coach said.

"Yeah, whatever." Y/n scowls, walking past- and shoving her shoulder into hers.

She was back at her apartment, fresh out the shower after a long day of practice and a workout in the gym with her trainer. She tied a robe around herself when she heard a knock at the door. She ordered food before the shower so she assumed it was just the delivery man. Safe to say it wasn't. Instead of lovely Mexican food, it was Alyssa.

She sighed deeply, "what do you want?"

"You shoved me. Apologize."

Y/n raised a brow, baffled by her words, "excuse me?"

"Don't act like you deaf now. You heard me. Apologize." Alyssa shot back, crossing her arms over her chest, glaring right into her eyes. "I'm not apologizin' for shit. You lucky I ain't knock you in your damn mouth." Lyss almost smiled in amusement, sniffling a laugh, "you really think you could lay a hand on me? That's cute, baby."

"I'm not your baby. Get off my doorstep."

Lyss smirked, taking a step back to her door, "I'ma make you apologize one way or another."

"In your damn dreams, Thomas." Y/n scoffed, slamming her door shut.

"Yay, you actually came! I thought you were just lying so I would stop calling you," Marina expressed cheerfully, taking y/n's hands to pull her inside. "I considered it," the vet mumbles, kicking off her shoes and setting them to the side. "Jackie, say hi. Y/n's here," she said, leading her into the kitchen of her apartment.

"Hey," Jackie smiled, waving her hand to her Laces teammate. She returned the wave with a small smile and walked into the kitchen where Marina set up her phone to film. "What am I trying again?" Y/n asked nervously. She never really ate anyone's food unless it was her mom's or her own.

"Chicken and shrimp Alfredo," Marina smiled, putting her bowl into the microwave to heat it up.

"Sounds good," she mumbled, leaning against the counter patiently.

The microwave beeped and she took out the bowl and started recording. "Hey guys. So I've got the one and only Y/n here to try my food. This is a huge step for me 'cause she never eats anyone's food..or likes to be recorded." She explained excitedly, and y/n took the bowl into her hands with a nervous smile.

She smelled it first before taking a bite. "What do you think?" She hums, swallowing the food, "it's not bad. I would've changed some things- like the bow tie pasta. But, it's not too bad. You did good."

After she finished recording, y/n sat down at the kitchen island to finish eating since she didn't plan to go out for lunch. "How are the kids?" Marina asked. Y/n had twins, both girls, through IVF. She was single at the time, and she always wanted kids so she took some time off to have them since finding the right person to have them with seemed impossible. "They're doing good. I can't wait for them to come to a game."

"Me too. I'm so excited to see them again," she smiled cheerfully, always loving to see the twin girls. "How's it going with you and AT? Literally everyone knows y'all got into it at practice," Marina spoke, sipping on her soda.

"I wouldn't have any problems if she wasn't captain but since she is, she thinks she can boss me around like I'm her bitch or somethin' and that is what pisses me off. I tried to get a trade but Phee convinced me not to." She explained. Jackie was surprised she even spoke that much, but then again, when it came to AT- she had a lot to say.

"Why do y'all hate each other anyways? Weren't you like best friends in highschool?" Marina questioned, remembering what Dijonai told her about their past friendship in highschool.

"You could say that," y/n mumbled.

Jackie smirked, sipping on her water, "sounds like y'all were a little more than friends."

Marina perked up with interest, "oh? What happened? Did she cheat? Did you cheat? Is this like love and basketball?"

"I hate that movie," y/n grimaced, taking a sip of her soda. "It wasn't like that though. She promised she'd go to Notre Dame with me, and out of nowhere, she told me she picked Maryland and broke up with me that same day. She just dumped me like I meant nothin' to her. I ain't even gon' talk about what happened in college."

Marina frowned, gulping nervously, "so...I guess this is a bad time to tell you we invited her to the dinner tonight."

After being told she'd have to endure a fancy dinner with her friends...and Alyssa, she needed to relax. Unrivaled provided many things she needed to relax, but a steam room was by far her favorite thing after a massage. She walked in, and sat down, very relieved it was empty. She got peace and quiet for a total of four minutes until the door opened and someone else walked in. Her eyes opened to be faced with Alyssa. Of course.

Alyssa just sat down, a little amused by how bothered her ex seemed, she could see her body grow immediately tense. "Are you never not tense?"

Her eyes rolled back in annoyance, "don't talk to me."

Lyss truly never cared when she said that. "How's your mom?"

"Like you care."

She scoffed lowly at her comment. "I do care. She was good to me."

"So was I. Look how that turned out." She shot back in seemingly calm tone, but deep down she was fuming. Everything about Alyssa's presence right now just irked her soul. From her smug smirk to her sweaty biceps...no, let's not go there. She can't see her that way. If she saw her that way, she was giving Lyss more power over her and she was not gonna let her win. Nope. Never again.

"You gotta let that go. It was decade ago," Alyssa replied nonchalantly.

Y/n hummed to herself, resting her head back, "nah. I like a good grudge."

"How's Danielle? Is that her name?" Alyssa queried and y/n immediately rolled her eyes at the mocking tone. "Her name is Demi, and not that it's any of your business, but we broke up weeks ago."

"Good. She was too preppy for you. I bet she made you do all the work, huh?" Alyssa asked in a teasing tone, and she didn't reply, just rolling her eyes, not even gonna acknowledge her anymore. "We both know you like resting your head on the pillow," she continued, loving that she wasn't getting responses cause it only made her wanna keep going until she finally got her to break. "I respect it though. You was tryna explore your options. Fems just ain't for you."

Y/n groaned, "I'm not talking about this with you. You don't know me. You know a version of me that you dated in highschool."

"Don't forget college," Alyssa added with a knowing smirk curled up her lips.

She rolled her eyes, trying to push away those memories, "it was one time."

Alyssa raised her hand in amusement, "five times," she corrected.

"Stop talking to me. We're not friends." She stated firmly, looking at the other way to avoid any eye contact. Lyss smiled, a glint of mischief in her eyes. "I don't wanna be your friend."

She crossed her legs with a dismissive expression, "good. You won't."

"How are the kids?"

She was honestly surprised Lyss even asked, let alone wanted to know. "Uh, they're good. My sister's dropping them off tomorrow." Lyss couldn't help but smile hearing that. She always enjoyed seeing y/n's kids at the games anytime they played against each other. "You bringin' them to practice?"

"Yeah, they're excited to see Angel and Marina." She answered, no doubt surprising herself 'cause the idea of talking about her kids with Lyss was nerve-wracking. Especially when they both talked about starting a family when they had dated. Just as Lyss went to speak, she cut her off, "I should go. See you at dinner...if I go that is." Without another word, she got up and rushed out.

A few hours passed, she was walking down to the parking lot to meet Marina and Jackie. She absolutely hated driving, and was ready to take an Uber, but Marina insisted they carpool. "Oh, my god, you're hot," Marina grinned, not even being subtle about checking her out. "Do a little spin for me. I need to take it in. This is beyond rare." She expressed, and y/n chuckled, doing a little spin for her.

"Makeup too? You're committed. Is this for the girls or someone special?" Marina continued, opening the passenger door for her as Jackie agreed to be in the backseat. She preferred it back there anyways.

They got to the restaurant at the same time as Dijonai and NaLyssa so they walked in together. She followed behind them, and walked to the table. Why did her eyes always seem to find Alyssa even when she wasn't searching? Lyss didn't take her eyes off her from the moment she walked in to the moment she sat down across her. Y/n tried to ignore her by keeping her head down, but every time she glanced up, she made eye contact with her ex. She had that look in her eyes. The same one she always got in highschool anytime she seen y/n in a dress. It was pure lust.

The whole dinner, they hadn't spoken a word to each other yet so much was said. As soon as the dinner was over, she was quick to get up and leave. She opted to just wait outside by the car until Jackie and Marina were ready. Alyssa said her goodbyes and rushed out to hopefully catch y/n before she left. She was easy to spot. It'd be impossible to not spot the sparkly blue dress glimmering against the cars.

She heard footsteps approach and assumed it was Marina so she looked up. It wasn't. "You waitin' for someone?" Lyss asked. She nodded, "carpooled with Marina and Jackie."

Alyssa smirked in amusement, "still hate driving I see." She rolled her eyes playfully, "never was a strong suit of mine."

"Oh, my god. They're talking." Marina whispered loudly towards Jackie as they walked towards the car, not sure if they should interrupt. Marina ran to y/n's side, just in case she needing saving. "Hey, some of us are staying out a little later, but if you don't wanna go, I can still take you back home."

"Oh, no, that's okay. I can get an Uber," y/n insisted, not really in much of a mood to stay out much later. This was already enough for her. "Or you could ride wit' me," Alyssa input. She really didn't want her to take an Uber. Y/n shared a look with Marina who seemed very encouraging, definitely in support of that. Typically, she was stubborn. That wasn't the case tonight. She caved.

Alyssa pulled open the door for her and she reluctantly stepped inside the car. "This doesn't mean you're gettin' lucky," she mumbled, glancing at Lyss's hands that were set along the steering wheel. She didn't even reply to that, just letting out the smallest hum. The rest of the ride was completely quiet, no one daring to break it.

She let herself out and walked into the building, not bothering to wait for Alyssa. Unfortunately, when she pressed the button in the elevator, Lyss ran in just before it closed. "That was amusing," she commented, leaning against the wall away from her. Lyss huffed, holding onto the bar, "I'm always chasin' after you. Wonder why that is."

She smiled, clearly satisfied with the frustration she provided. "You should probably just give up then."

"I don't give up," Lyss stated.

"Really? You had no problem giving up on us in highschool." The elevator opened and she stepped out, walking down to her apartment door. She couldn't even unlock her door before her hand was grabbed onto and she was turned around by Lyss. "I made the worst mistake of my life when I walked away from you, and I'm sorry. We ain't gotta be friends. I just need us to be okay again."

She sighed, not even sure why she was still mad. She hated being mad. Everyone around her knew this. Maybe the reason she couldn't let it go was because she still wanted her. "I forgive you. We're okay."

Alyssa still hadn't let go of her hand, and it conflicted her. "Lyss? You can let go-" she shook her head, and pulled her closer, y/n couldn't help but feel conflicted when she leaned in and pressed her lips against hers. They were just as soft and inviting as she remembered, and she simply couldn't resist kissing her back. It grew more heated when she did.

Lyss's hand moved to her waist, bringing her body closer as her free hand reached behind her to unlock her door. Completely lost in the moment, they stumbled into the apartment, she kicked off her heels carelessly. Lyss pressed her up against the wall, desperate to feel every inch of her. She didn't have the patience to peel off her tights so she settled for just ripping them. Y/n pulled her back down to connect their lips, stifling a moan when her knee slotted between her legs.

Alyssa pulled away, a hand reaching up to cup her jaw gently, "are you gon' hate me in the mornin'?"

She sighed softly, reaching up to cup her face, yearning in her eyes, "I never hated you, Lyss. I just hated what you did to me." Alyssa hummed, pulling her back in, "I'll make it up to you, baby." The moan that left her mouth was sinful, her fingers running through her drippingย pussy, her kisses moving to y/n's neck as her hands gripped onto her shirt, fisting the fabric in her hands.

"Fuck, Lyss," she groaned when she slipped two fingers straight into her, her head falling back against the wall as she started a fast pace of thrusting them into her. Her thumb came to rub circles on her clit as she pumped her digits into her mercilessly. "Say sorry, baby," Lyss whispered. Her brows furrowed in confusion, "wha- why?"

"I said you was gon' apologize to me one way or another. Say you're sorry or I'll stop." She fully halted her movements, causing her to whine, "okay, okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, baby. Keep going, please." Lyss smirked, satisfied with that response. She pushed her fingers back into her wet heat, a gutteral moan ripping through her throat. "Oh my- fuck."

Her body was hot and the burn climbed with each thrust. Whimpers and whines tumbling out of her mouth as her orgasm built. "Let go for me, baby," Lyss whispered, pressing their lips together again and she could only kiss back so much until it just became panting and moaning into her mouth. It didnโ€™t take long before she felt her tightening around her fingers, her breath more ragged, her moans growing higher and more desperate. Her body shudders in pleasure, riding out the waves of her orgasm.

Alyssa didn't waste a second as she pulled her fingers out, sucking them clean and moaning at the taste of her. Her body practically melted against her, Lyss's hands playing with the sems of the dress, a small smirk pulling at her lips as she dropped onto her knees. "I love this dress. And it's gon' look even better when I fuck you in it."
