Hogwarts was beautiful. Honestly, Estrella couldn't get enough of how magical the castle looked at night, especially with all the first years around her holding their lanterns to see through the night.

Looking around she smiled softly at the faces of the 11-year-olds, eyes dancing with flecks of light and their faces struck with awe. "It's magical." A girl breathed out.

"Duh, that's why it's a magic school idiot." The boy holding the lantern at the foot of their boat rolled his eyes. The girl cut her eyes at him and turned to Estrella with a confused look.

"You don't look 11," She observed. "Are you sure you're a first-year?"

"No," The young witch giggled. "It is my first year at Hogwarts but I'll be entering with the third years."

"Oh, your really pretty." She concluded with a smile. "I'm Angelica."

"I'm Estrella, it's nice to meet you."

"I'm Drew Barnes," The boy looked back at the girls. "Well my actual name is Andrew because it's weird."

"And who told you that?" Estrella looked at him with her eyebrows furrowed. "Your name is fine."

"Geoffrey did." The boy shrugged his shoulders. "He told me to go by Drew all the time instead of as a nickname."

"And this Geoffrey," Estrella leaned forward, steadying herself to make sure the boat didn't tip over. "Is he nice?" Bucky shook his head, glancing over at another boat. Estrella turned her head to see a boy picking on a girl, splashing her with water and placing lily pads on her head.

"He's horrible," Angelica rolled her eyes. "I've only known him five minutes but I know he's going to be a nightmare."

"Hey Drew," Estrella spoke out, her eyes still trained on that Geoffrey boy. "Don't let that idiot tell you what to do okay? I've gone through the same thing in my old school, it wasn't fun and you're going to end up sad if you let people like him control your life."

"Be Drew because you want to be Drew, not because a buffoon told you it sounds better."

Something in the air shifted on Drew's side. He felt warm and tingly inside, I'm in love He jumped to the conclusion, staring at Estrella with googly eyes. "Okay, whatever you say beautiful- I mean Estrella." He smirked.

Estrella blushed at his comment earning a scoff from Angelica who turned to Estrella with a scowl. "Well done, you went and made him fall for you."

"What?" The witch protested. "I was just being nice."

"Angelica stop bothering my girlfriend," Drew sneered at her. "What house do you think you'll be in....babe?"

Estrella gave the boy a tight-lipped smiled, looking anywhere but at him with a shrug of her shoulders. "Well I think I'll be in Ravenclaw, since I'm pretty smart if I do say so myself."

"I think I'll be in Ravenclaw too," Angelica piped up. "And don't kid yourself, Andrew, you strain yourself trying to recall your own name." She drawled. Drew gasped in protest but before he could snap back the boats all came to a halt and the three of them were ushered out and made their way to steps at the foot of two ginormous doors. Instead, he opted to tug at her ponytail instead, sticking his tongue out at her when she turned to glare.

Estrella rolled her eyes with a smirk watching the two of them interact. They'll definitely end up together by the end of 5th Year  Her thoughts were soon cut off as the clicking of heels made their way towards the vast majority of First Years. She could hear the murmurs of students inside the hall and raised her eyebrow, wondering how big it must be.

"In a few moments," A shrill voice spoke out. "You'll be stepping through these doors and the Sorting Ceremony will begin."

"My name is Professor McGonagall and I will be conducting this ceremony by calling out all your names that a written on this list," She brandished a piece of parchment that was rolled up and tied with an emerald green ribbon.

"You will be sorted into four houses: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin."

As soon as the last house was called out, the First Years all broke out into whispers, "I'll definitely get into Gryffindor,", "Hufflepuffs are losers,", "No one wants to be in Slytherin, they're all evil."

Estrella rolled her eyes at the last comment knowing full well Isabella was far from evil and not all Slytherins had to be sketchy. "Quiet down, the ceremony is about to begin." McGonagall hushed the kids, turning on her heel and waited for the doors to push open.

A loud creaking erupted as the oak doors stared to shift open, Estrella and may other kids straining their necks to see what was inside. Professor McGonagall walked ahead, the first years all forming a huddle and walking in behind her, their heads looking around in awe. Estrella couldn't help but join in and took in all her surroundings, from the long tables filled with students to the high ceiling adorned with floating candles that had been bewitched to stay alight. The ceiling also seemed to showcase the night sky outside, capturing her attention as the stars twinkled reflecting in her own irises.

"She's beautiful," Harry sighed watching as her face lit up and how her eyes seemed to glaze over beautifully with the stars reflecting in them.

"Who? McGonagall?" Ron spluttered at his best friend.

"No you wanker," Harry looked at him disgusted. "Estrella! She looks beautiful."

"She doesn't she?" George murmured in agreement. Harry glared at the back of his head before turning his attention back to the beauty. Estrella glanced around the hall looking for her friends and caught sight of Inaya who waved at her with a bright smile. She smiled back, feeling slightly reassured.

Once she turned her attention back to Professor Mcgonagall, she noticed that there was a small wooden stool with a tattered old hat on top of it. She cocked her head to the side, remembering what Indira had said about a sorting hat and connected the dots in her mind.

Estrella gasped in surprise as the hat seemed to come to life, the line where it seemed to have ripped formed a mouth that started to speak— sing. The song itself retold the story of the four founders, the attributes of each house and ended with a warning of the Dementors outside. All in all, Estrella was amazed.

"One by one I'm going to call your names out and you'll be sorted." McGonagall started. She started to call out names from the parchment in front of her, Estrella noticing she was going down the alphabet.

"Billings Audrey." The brunette shakily stepped her way up, rocking slightly on the stool as she sat down. The sorting hat was placed over her head, slipping down her eyes which helped the girl relax as she felt protected from the many eyes staring at her.

"Hmmm...better be Hufflepuff." The hat shouted. The yellow and black robes students burst into cheers, applauding the young flushed faced girl as she walked over to the table.

"Barnes Andrew." McGonagall swiftly continued.

"It's Drew actually Professor....please." He added on quietly meeting her sharp gaze. Angelica snorted, in return making Estrella snort also at his idiocy.

The hat was placed on his head and after a few agonising seconds of silence the hat burst out, "Ravenclaw!"

"No!" Angelica groaned seeing his cocky smirk as he winked at her, walking over to the Ravenclaw table. "That sly git." She grumbled underneath her breath.

"Language," Estrella gasped looking down at the 11-year-old, Angelica merely rolled her eyes glaring over at Drew who dreamily stared at Estrella. The sorting went on, all kinds of first years being sorting into their houses until finally, the register got to the letter C.

"She has to be part Veela or something," Lavender Brown glared over at the back of Estrella's head. "She doesn't notice it but nearly all the guys are looking at her."

"Yeah even Harry," Oak, one of Lavenders minions, whined. The girl has had a crush on Harry Potter since the first time she met him and he picked up her fallen quill on the floor. Given the really only smiled at her before hurriedly turning back to Ron and Hermione, she still felt as if there was an unspoken connection between the two that formed that Transfiguration lesson.

Hermione overheard their conversation, turning to Kiana who gave her a knowing look and sighed. "Do you think she'll ever give up?" She whispered to Hermione.

"You know she won't, It took her months to finally be convinced that I don't like Harry and she still thinks you have some sort of a crush on him too."

"I really don't see why she's so obsessed. Harry's nice and all but look at him, he's a twig with messy hair." Kiana furrowed her eyebrows trying to figure out why the boy was so popular.

"Hey! I have muscles." He looked over at her offended. "Look." Harry brought out his arm, tensing his biceps and showed....nothing.

"Yeah, keep trying buddy."

Harry opened his mouth to bite back but as soon as he did, he was cut off my Mcgonagall calling out Estrella's name.

"Good luck," Angelica mumbled as Estrella made her way through the crowd of first years and sat on the shaky stool.

"Hmmm...seems to me we have an imposter here," The hat started. Estrella blushed a deep red, biting her lip to restrain the desire to groan out of embarrassment.

"You have a lot going on in here," The voice was in her head. "You want to prove your worth to your family but you also want to stand out? Your scared dear, trapped in your own head but your desire to prove yourself is strong."

"I want to find my own way through the world," She said in a confident whisper. "I don't want to walk on eggshells anymore."

"It's that's the case then you know what to do. Stay away from him and you'll be flying." Estrella nodded her head, eyes flickering to Harry who looked undeniably beautiful in the glow of the candles.

"Well, then it better be...SLYTHERIN!" The hat burst out. Estrella felt a wash of relaxation coat her entire body and smiled brightly as she walked over to Isabella who was stood cheering and applauding her along with the rest of the house.

"I'm so glad you made it! Finally, I don't have to put up with those snobby bitches anymore." Isabella hugged her tightly, cheeks flushes and her purple hair framing her face beautifully.

"I'm happy too, I really thought I would come to this school with no friend a but the universe must be on my side to find you and the others so quick." Estrella smiled.

"Has anyone ever told you your accent is mesmerising," Isabella sighed. "I could sit and listen to you all day."

"Well if that's the case I'll read you a bedtime story once in while." The young witch giggled before turning her head to the Gryffindor table. There she saw Kiana who waved at her excitedly and Hermione who gave her a double thumbs-up.

She caught Harry's eye, cocking her head to the side at his hurt look but smiled at him reassuringly, causing him to smile back. "Hey," Estrella leaned to Isabella. "What's Ron's problem?"

"He has this thing where he hates all Slytherins. It's stupid but I think he's trying to hate and like you at the same time."

"Oh, are Slytherin's really that bad?" Estrella looked up and down the table seeing all the kids whispering and talking to each other as the Sorting Ceremony still went on.

"We're really not. Not all of us have that sickening mentality that only purebloods are the best." At the mention of blood, Estrella unconsciously grabbed her wrist, feeling the cool metal underneath her fingertips. As all the people around her yet again erupted into cheers as another First Year was sorted, she sat quietly contemplating her future at Hogwarts.

Her father was miles and miles away from her right now. All he really cared about was her doing well at school and upholding her family name. He wasn't around anymore to come and bother her while she sat in her lessons, examining her behaviour. She was, in a way, free.

That moment, as the loud noises died down around her, her desire for ambition breathed for the first time since she was a toddler. It shone inside her, bubbling up until it reached the apples of her cheeks, stretching her lips into a wide smile.

What her father didn't know wasn't going to hurt him. She finally had a clean slate to uphold her family name in her own way.

Estrella Consuelas was going to be the beautiful, happy, intelligent girl that she had locked away for the past 9 years. Estrella Consuelas was going to be the envy of every third-year girl she met and in the most non-big headed way possible, Estrella Consuelas was going to be a name everyone kept in their mouth for as long as she stayed at Hogwarts.

She wasn't going to be the quiet obedient girl she was dulled down into. Instead, Estrella Consuelas was going to be the sunflower that Hogwarts had planted in her field of success.

Here's to a new me She thought, looking around at the many heads of her new school until her eyes finally rested on the bewitched sky. Here's to all my dreams finally coming true.
