Two hours.

Boone and Magnolia had only gotten two hours of sleep, having gotten back to the motel late after their date. Then they had showered, which turned into more than just a shower. It was a perfect night, really, and both of them wanted to sleep in.

That was the plan, an unspoken plan, but neither wanted to move as they held onto each other.

And it was a great plan, until Boone’s phone rang.

Magnolia groaned, leaning into his chest as she reached for the device. His eyes were squinted against the light of the screen, then he let out a huff and dropped it before wrapping his arms around the girl.

“Who was it?” She asked, her eyes still closed.

“Not important.”

“It was Tyler, wasn’t it?” She giggled a little, tilting her head back to look up at him. “You still mad at him?”

“Yes,” he nodded. “Let’s just go back to sleep.”

“What if he’s-” her phone rang, cutting her off and she shifted a little, reaching over to grab it. “It’s Tyler.” She showed him the screen and he hit the red button, declining the call. “Boone,” she laughed a little as he took her phone and put it with his.

He let his eyes fall closed as he pulled her back into his chest, “two days of nothin’.” He muttered, mostly to himself. “See how he likes it.”

“It could be important.”

“Don’t care.”

“Baby,”

“Shh, I’m sleepin’,” he mumbled, his arms tight around as he kissed her forehead. She giggled, leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to his chest, then she trailed soft kisses up to his neck, her lips ghosting over his jaw. He sucked in a breath, his arm tightening around her and she could feel his hardness against her lower stomach. “Angel,” he mumbled, his eyes still closed as he placed his palms flat on her back, holding her close as he shifted his hips against her.

She hitched her leg up, draping it over his hip as she moved up just a little and just as he brushed against her most sensitive area there was a knock on the door, making both of them groan.

“Hey! We gotta meet Tyler!” Lily called out before knocking three more times. “Let’s go!”

Boone groaned in annoyance, rolling his eyes a little, which made Magnolia laugh, “Imma kill him.”

“Sure you will,” she hummed, patting his chest, but neither had yet to move. “We gotta get outta bed eventually.”

“Not yet,” he murmured as he brushed his lips against hers, then he shifted his hips and she let out a soft moan, a sound he loved. “We’ll be quick.”

She nodded almost pathetically, meeting his lips in a kiss. He swallowed her moan as he shifted against her again, then he rolled onto his back, keeping her against him. With his hands on her hips, he guided her movements against him and it didn't’ take very long at all before both of them were coming undone.

Tyler had told Lily that he had a big project, not giving away anything specific. Just to meet him at a nearby repair shop that sold second hand equipment.

So that's where they were, and Magnolia held onto Boone's hand, who had gotten unusual quite the second they saw Tyler pull into the lot.

“Baby, you seriously ain't gonna talk to him?”

“Nope,” he shook his head and she chuckled, rolling her eyes a little. “Did Kelly get home okay?”

“Yeah, said she missed the city,” she nodded and his brows pinched a little. “What?”

“Do you miss the city?”

“No, not really.” She hummed, her voice quiet. “I do wanna visit around Christmas though, it's beautiful.”

He smiled, pulling her close and wrapping his arm around her, “we can manage that.” He kissed her cheek, making her cheeks flush as she giggled.

“You finally made it,” Dani mused as Tyler neared them, and the smile that had been on Boone’s face dropped as he looked over at his best friend.

“Seriously?” Magnolia mumbled, looking up at him.

“Ben,” Tyler grinned upon seeing the reporter, “you stuck around.”

“Turns out, there’s more to this story then I thought,” he shrugged a little, shaking Tyler’s hand.

“We got a new ending for ya.”

“Look it it is,” Dexter mused as Kate neared them, “City girl.”

“What’s up, Kate?” Lily grinned, nodding her head in approval.

“Finally decided to ditch all those squares, huh? Right on.” Dexter told her, getting a laugh from Magnolia – who was trying to get Boone to stop pouting. It wasn’t really working.

“Mm-hmm. Yep. Y’all missed a big one. Look.” Lily turned a little, showing Kate her tablet.

“Wow,” Kate mumbled, watching the footage. “Hey, can you- can you rig that drone to collect data?”

Lily thought for just a moment before nodding. “I can do that.”

“Yeah, she can do that.” Dexter added, nodding his head as Boone stepped away from the group, Magnolia shook her head and made her way towards Tyler.

“Hey, Mags,” he dropped his arm around her shoulders. “You doin’ alright?”

“Talk to him, please.” She hummed, and he glanced over at Boone, who stood with his back to them. “He’s been real upset with you.”

“I’m sure you kept him plenty busy,” he mused, his eyes jumping to the purple spot poking out from under Boone’s bandana – she was in a t-shirt, so most of them were covered, all but one close to her ear.

“Oh, just go talk to him,” she shoved him away from her and he chuckled, making his way over to Boone and she watched the two.

“Hey, buddy.” He patted his shoulder. “I’m sorry. How do I make it up to you?”

“Man, you abandoned me.” Boone shook his head, making Magnolia chuckle as she rolled her eyes. “I don’t know nothin’ ‘bout no makeup.”

“How about we launch some new rockets?”

Boone almost instantly perked up, looking over at Tyler, “you said rockets?”

“Aww, y’all are just adorable.” Magnolia mused, as she stopped on the other side of Boone, who smiled as he reached for her hand and tugged her closer to him. She giggled as he kissed her cheek and Tyler smiled at the two.

“So, when we officially gonna tell the fans about you two?” He asked, his arms crossed over his chest, and a smirk on his lips. But before either could answer, or argue that the entire fanbase already knew, Dani interrupted.

“Hey. Y’all ready?” She waved them over, having gotten the owner of the shop. The owner led the group through the lot full of trailers, while Dani explained what they needed. “We need a forty-foot trailer that’s light enough for a pickup but heavy enough to anchor barrels in a hundred mile and hour winds.”

“Why the hell would you want that?” He asked, his brows pinched.

Dani paused for a moment before turning to look at Kate, “why the hell do we want that?”

Kate shifted on her feet a little, her hands on her hips. “Well, ‘cause when we drive into a tornado, we want whatever’s on the trailer to get sucked into it but not us.”

He was visibly confused, waiting for her to say it was a joke, but when she didn’t he just nodded, “you’re gonna want aluminum.”

“Okay.” She nodded and he led them right to the trailer they were looking for.

The team was in a field, getting everything ready for the upcoming storm and Kate’s experiment. Kate was on the roof of the truck with Dani, putting the new rockets – that Dexter was putting together – into the launchers. Lily was modifying Cairo – her drone. Magnolia was taking pictures, most of which would go up on Instagram with a link to the relief fund.

And Boone was filming them, well, he was filming Magnolia as she sat on the ground with her phone in her hands.

“Ain’t she pretty?” Boone mused, squatted down with his camera aimed at her and she waved, her ring glinting in the sunlight. “Angel, show ‘em your ring.”

“Oh, this ring?” She hummed, holding up her left hand. “Ain’t it gorgeous.”

He grinned, moving to kiss her, somehow managing to get it on camera before he sat next to her so both of them were in the frame, “She’s all mine.”

“And I couldn’t be happier,” she leaned over and kissed his cheek. “But you got other people to film, baby.”

“Right,” he pushed himself up and made his way towards the truck, and Magnolia took several pictures of him. “Dexter, talk to me. What’s going on?” He asked, pointing the camera at the man.

“We’re testing the Goldilocks principle of a tornado by modifying the variables, hopefully disrupting the process.”

Boone moved the camera to Dani, who had grabbed the rocket Dexter handed to her, “Dani, what does that mean?”

“Taming the storm,” she simplified and Kate smiled.

“T,” Boone moved towards them and he turned towards the camera. “-tell us what’s going on.”

“Alright, we’re gonna shoot the clouds with rockets of silver iodide.” He explained before turning and making it was towards the trailer 

“Yeah, makes ‘em rain, right?” he asked to clarify for the viewers.

“Yep. Rain is what we need in the updraft. And then we’re gonna take the sodium polyacrylate and we’re gonna deliver it in the vortex– don’t touch that-” he stopped Ben from messing with the lips on the barrels, then he continued with a smile. “-increasing the cold pool.”

Magnolia snapped a photo of Kate, who was on the top of the truck, when she smiled at Tyler. She thought Tyler might like to have that one.

“And that does what to the tornado?” Ben asked curiously.

“It cuts the fuel, Ben.” Tyler told him, getting a nod though he was still confused.

Boone moved towards Lily. “Lily! Oh, look at Cairo looking all cute and whatnot. Hey, buddy,” he patted the drone.

Magnolia smiled as she read the comments on her post, it had only been up for a few minutes but people were already sharing their excitement and congratulations for the couple, who had made it official.

Her favorite comment, though, was one that Kelly had left: Can’t believe my little girl is all grown up and getting married! So happy for you! Wish you all the best! And if you get taken by a tornado, I want your boots.

It wasn’t too much longer until Boone joined her again, his camera off, and a smile on his face. He leaned back on his arms and she leaned into him, a smile on her lips as she typed up the caption for her next post, which was centered around Boone the best looking cameraman on the planet, at least that’s what to post said along with the fact that he was very much taken.

“The world knows,” he mused. “How you feel about that?”

“The world knew on day one, baby.” She told him, turning her phone off. “But I like everyone knowin’, now we just gotta tell my parents.”

He took a breath, nodding his head, “your daddy still hate me?”

“Don’t know, but it don’t matter ‘cause I love you.”

“Oh, angel, you know how to make a man crazy.” He hummed, pressing his lips against hers. She giggled against his lips, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.

“God, you two are like rabbits.” Dani muttered, walking past the couple towards the caravan.

“They got ten years of catchin’ up to do, leave ‘em be.” Lily waved her off, making the couple laugh, sharing another kiss, which Dani got a picture of.

“Yep, that one’s goin’ on Instagram.” She hummed as she turned, typing her phone as she made her way towards the caravan.

“She’s gonna post so many pictures of us, isn’t she?” Magnolia mumbled and Boone just nodded, he knew Dani had a collection of photos she had taken over the last week that she was dying to share, but she held off on posting them. She wanted them to be the ones to tell everyone that they were together.

“Come on, we should load up.” He kissed her cheek before pushing himself up and holding his hand out to her. He pulled her to her feet then they started towards Lily’s van.

“You ain't ridin’ with Ty?”

“Not today.”

Despite the fact that him not riding with Tyler eased her worry, her brows pinched as she looked up at him, “not ‘cause of me, right? I don't wanna be the reason you ain't doin’ your job.”

“It crossed my mind,” he told her honestly. “But this is Kate's project and I wanna give her the space to do what she's gotta do. So, no, it ain't ‘casue of you.” He leaned down and kissed her cheek, “at least not entirely.” He added and she rolled her eyes.

She shoved his chest and little and climbed into the van, being careful not to hit Cairo, who Lily was making a few last minute adjustments to.
