THE TOMB AROUND THEM RUMBLED LOUDER FROM THE OUTSIDE CHAOS, THE INSIDE OF IT BREAKING APART MORE AS THE DEBRI WAS FALLING. If it weren't for her unnatural balance from her abilities, the girl would have stumbled down ages ago from the shaking of the tomb. But she stood strong, while Crocodile didn't.
He gritted his teeth enraged, now losing his patience with the girl whom he was starting to have respect for, "What is it that..." He trailed off lowly, bleeding dripping along his pale skin, "you say I don't understand?"
(Y/N) just stared at him bluntly with no verbal response, her eyes taking in his injured from as he goes to stand up. However, she didn't let that happen. Her reflexes kicked in as she charged at him yelling, and slammed a rock in his face that she brought up from the floor.
He just narrowly dodged the attack she did, and felt the gust of air against his cheek from how much force was behind the punch. He landed on the opposite side now, while she skidded to a stop where he use to stand.
"Why are making this so hard?!" She exclaimed springing to action once more, and tried to land a fist at his face, that instead hit one of the pillars making that break into many pieces, "You damn, gator--!"
Crocodile swiftly jumped back away from her hits, watching how many rocks fell from her bending them towards him. He released a visible puff of air out of his mouth, and smirked gleefully from knelt on the floor, "Don't you get it? You'll die soon, due to the poison that entered that wound."
Her chest heaved up and down heavily, wondering what he meant. She was so focus on wining, that she didn't even realise how much pain she was in. Her eyes go wide, suddenly feeling like a tone of bricks just hit her and goes stumbling to the side, favouring her forearm were the cut was leaking a purple gas.
"Your body is probably numbing by now." He stated gruffly looking at her slouched figure, and smirked more wider hearing the pained noises leaving her, "Whether you win or lose, you'll be buried under this sacred temple anyway. Such a shame, I could of used your powers on my side."
She just squinted both her eyes at him, breathing becoming more laboured as she hunched over where she stood. She could feel how the poison was now inside her, from how her blood felt on fire and tried to focus on the task at hand, rather than how she felt.
Zoro and Sanji are going to kill me.... she thought to herself groaning, keeping pressure on her bleeding wound and felt more tremors through the ground, followed by a lot of rocks falling next from the roof.
"I'm certain that what you're after isn't in this country." Crocodile rose his voice over the rumbles, a few veins on his forehead irking from the glare over his face, and questioned the girl, "Isn't that right? To achieve someone else's goal... What's the point in dying over that?! If you ditch a friend or two, you can stay out of troubles. You guys are total idiots."
(Y/N)'s figure was trembling trying to stand up straight, as her locks covered her face from his view. The only thing he could see, was how now an orange mist was covering over her injured arm and how her knuckles were scrunching up tight by her sides.
"That's why I said you don't understand. Vivi..." Her voice cracked a bit, which caused the kings eyes to go wide hearing it from his spot against the wall, "She tells others not to die, but she's the first to lay down her own life to save others. If we don't help her, she'll die. You guys will kill her."
Crocodile clicked his tongue, and scoffed shaking his head at how naive she sounded, "You're so dense." He snapped over her talking, "That's why I'm telling you that you can just ditch that burden--!"
The next expression on her face sent chills down his spine, his instincts telling him to run away while he still could.
Her head sprang back up, face was a storm of fury, eyes blazing with a searing intensity. Her brows were drawn together, casting deep shadows over her narrowed gaze, while her jaw was clenched so tightly that the tendons in her neck stood out like cords, "We don't want her to die! That's how friends are!"
The air around her seemed to thicken with the weight of her fury, and he could feel it pressing in on him, suffocating as she now stood up with no challenge, and continued, "That's why we won't quit fighting as long as she doesn't give up on her country!"
Cobra felt his breath hitch, not releasing how dedicated this girl was to helping his daughter. While on the other hand, Crocodile wasn't impressed at all, and stared at her coldy, "Even if you guys end up dying?"
"Even then! If we die, we die." She answered in calmer tone, breathing still heavy feeling her bones becoming more stiff by the minute and tried to blink away the blurriness from her vision.
She'd do anything for her crew, for her friends. Nothing would, nothing could ever change that.
Amused laughter now left his mouth, head thrown back at the words she told him. He thought it all was a joke, that much was clear. The tomb around them also was breaking again, and it was a signal to her to move things along quicker.
"Even if you talk big, your body doesn't respond, huh?" He snickered in triumph, watching her figure knelt on the floor in pain, her breathing even more laboured, "You look pathetic, Straw Hat. What happened to those abilities of yours? Just all for show it seems."
The colour was draining from (Y/N)'s face, as her eyes were glossing over to dully look up at the roof falling before them slowly. She was knelt on her knees, body feeling to exhausted to move as she knew the poison was doing it's work to her now.
Her rage spiked up even more when Crocodile told them about the timer on the bomb, and how it would go off regardless of taking the controller out. She dug her fingers into the stone below her, ignoring how she felt them starting to bleed from the movement.
"How despicable!" Corba yelled in horror from the sidelines, having heard what he told the weak girl on the ground and gritted his teeth glaring at the enemy.
"I'd like you to at least say I was thoroughly prepared Mr. Corba." Croco speaks through an arrogant grin, turning his head over his shoulder to glance at the latter, "Operations should be carried out considering unforeseen circumstances. Even if something happens to the cannoneer, the cannonal will explode on it's own Well, the time lag is just a few doze seconds. I wanted it to be shot into the centre of the Square, but it should still do more then enough damage from there."
When he received on response from anyone, like he expected, another loud laugh escaped his mouth as the tomb continued to fall around them all. He knew the bomb went off outside, and it caused a dark look to cross his face realising he had indeed won.
"Finally.... the beginning is here..." He outstretched his arms out beside him, while the figure of (Y/N) was behind him completely weakened laying on the ground, "The day that my enormous ambition starts... This country is mine!"
While he was savouring the moment of his so called win, he was unaware of how the girl he thought was gone was now very much awake. Her blooded fingers twitched against the stone, as suddenly a orange mist of wisps were traveling over her body and swirled around her, almost like it was healing her slowly.
She thought back to her words about Vivi, how she didn't want her to die and how they were all friends. She couldn't give up now when they were this close, when she was this close to finishing Crocodile for good. She had to be strong, for her crew, for Luffy, for Happy, for her boys and most importantly for Vivi.
(Y/N) couldn't let them all down. Not again.
The hairs at the back of Crocodile's neck stood up, making him tense now feeling a presence behind him. A shiver ran down his spin alarmed, and slowly turned around to see the cause of it. And what he saw, made his eyes widen and face to go pale in horror.
Monkey D. (Y/N) was standing up like nothing happened, the orange mist around her getting bigger as it traveled through her hair, making the room illuminate in that colour. Her chest was heaving, blood still coating her skin and clothes, but she looked as nothing happened to her.
Rocks continued to thump all around them, but Corba's wide amazed gaze was on the girl, while Croco had a raged one trained on her. None of them could see her face, it being covered by her messy locks as she heaved for air through her lungs.
"You... can't...." Her voice came out strong, but it sounded raspy from the yelling and lack of water, as she finally moves her head up and makes eye contact with Crocodile, the pupils of her eyes starting to glow an orange colour, "... defeat me!"
Crocodile just gritted his teeth, and forced out a loud laugh that made her eye twitch annoyed, "You finally manage to speak and that's all you have to say?" He began to walk towards her through the rocks falling, "That's a bluff that suits you well, a loser who's about to die any moment. And it's even groundless..."
She clenched her jaw tightly, and scrunched her blooded knuckles up beside her into fists, "You're wrong. I am the girl who'll be King of the Pirates!" She declared in a strong yell, more pants leaving her lips as scarlet drips down her chin onto the floor.
He just stared at her determined expression for a few seconds, analysing her before a gleaming smirk crosses his mouth, "Listen up, kid. The more someone knows about this sea, the less they'd make such thoughtless remarks." He began and lifted up the poisonous hook, "I thought I told you that there're tons of rookies like you in this sea. The more you learn the level of this sea,"
Like the speed of light he took of heading right for her, hooked arm held up ready to strike the unbothered girl down, ".... the more you'll give up on having such dreams!"
Unlucky for Crocodile, her reflexes kicked in almost immediately, and she swiftly turned her body around, so her back faced him. Her leg came shooting up into the air, and her boot slammed right into the hook on his hand keeping him trapped.
With a loud grunt, she forcefully shoved his hook to the floor with her boot, and it instantly broke off the poisonous part clean off the front. The object goes spinning in the air, while the other pieces were in parts, completely destroyed by just her strength.
Crocodile couldn't move, he felt trapped just by her single boot pressing onto is hook. Her presence beside him was overpowering, something that almost made him want to reconsider actually fighting against her. His breath hitched realising what happened, and heard her low voice right by his ears next.
"I am the one.... who will surpass you!"
This set off Crocodile, now entering battle mode as he saw how her expression changed into a determined one once more. A loud yell escaped from her, as she twisted her other leg and slammed it straight into his stomach, making his body fold inwards from the surprise attack.
Blood spluttered out from his clenched teeth, his pupils white from being close to passing out. She didn't give him time to recover, as she was sending another uppercut to under his jaw, creating even more blood and for his head to snap sideways.
As his body was flying through the air, (Y/N) brought up her hands above her head and bended the air around her. With a sneer she sent both sides of her fists into his temple, air being pushed into it also which made the impact ten times stronger.
The stone below him cracked from the blow, and his head was crushed into it also. Her arms thrusted up to send more rocks at him, and grunted as she ducked out of the way, watching the many rocks crash into him before he slammed into a pillar behind her.
She jumped out of the way, missing the massive bolder falling from the roof. The dust was clearing also, giving the badly wounded Crocodile a view of the girl, as he was knelt on the floor bleeding in the pile of rocks.
The scorpion's poison should definitely be working... he thought to himself incredulously, lidded gaze landing on (Y/N) who stood with her back to him, her figure covered in that orange mist still, where is this brat getting all that strength from?
Feeling his gaze on her back, the girl snapped her head over her shoulder, and he was met with a engraged look that would haunt him for years to come. He really shouldn't of underestimated her, since he did at first, and now this is where he ended up all because of her.
Crocodile would't allow this to go on anymore, and planned to put a end to her. His teeth grinned together, as he made a small knife appear out of his hook to replace what was once there, "You're just a brat who comes from who knows where! Who the hell do you think I am?!"
He appears from out of the dust surrounding them, and goes to swipe his knife at her, but she quicly ducked in time to miss the weapon, "I don't care who you are..." She snapped her head back up screaming, "I'll win no matter what!"
Not missing a beat, her leg comes swinging upwards and sent a spiral of airbending at his stomach still yelling. Hitting him with both her boot, and bending, the male was sent flying upwards above them, not stopping till his back slammed into his back shocking Cobra watching the fight happen.
Crocodile managed to catch himself on the broken roofs, just barely hanging into the roof where she sent him. He knew he lost a lot of blood, but she had it worse from the small puddle of it underneath her. The only thing that was confusing him though, was how she was still able to move.
"Just fall along with this sacred temple already!" He yelled down at her beyond frustrated, his palm lifting up to make his sand power appear, "Sables...!" He made a tornado of sand, and sent it flying down to her, "Pesado!"
(Y/N) didn't falter once in her spot, that heavy glare still creasing her forehead even seeing what was heading towards her. And all she did was throw her arms in the air above her head, creating a wind shield around her body, and the other twos inside the room with her just as the explosion went off.
His attack made the entire tomb now break apart inside, even more debris everywhere from the explosion. She felt the force behind it, by how her knees were bent slightly and tried to push back into it with her own power, yells escaping her as she did so.
The dust slowly cleared once more, along with his attack having finished. Crocodile did think he had managed to somehow hurt her, but the moment he saw her figure flying up towards him fast, it was over for him.
Her once (E/C) eyes were now fully glowing white, as the stones below her cracked from the push off she took. Her knees bent to airbend herself into the air, before her firebending took over at the bottom of her boots.
"YOUR REIGN ENDS NOW!" Her voice sounded like it had many others yelling with her, as her scowl intensifies flying up all the way towards him, arm being brought back behind her, "CROCODILE!"
He tried to aim another sand attack on her, but she shot out fire from her fists that instantly burnt through it. Still being propelled forward, she slams her fists into his stomach for the first hit, making his body snap forward.
A battle cry tore free from her throat next, as she bends a large amount of airbending towards him, fists pointed out putting her remaining strength into this final attack. His body was pushing against the roof, him now completely unconscious with blood spluttering everywhere.
She continued to push more air into his body, fingertips covered in a orange wisps as she didn't realise how some of that was blasting into his chest also. Her screaming didn't stop, not even when she felt blood dripping down her nose nor when she knew she was past her limit.
The veins on her neck were pulsing a light orange also, and her eyes were flickering from white to their normal colour. The roof was starting to give way from the amount of force she was sending at Crocodile, up until it began to crack in many different spots, before not till long she sent him through the roof and up into the open space of the town.
His unconscious figure was floating high up in th air, while the buildings and structure around him were fallen over or broken in half from her power. Her figure was still mid air, a shadow over her glowing eyes as she held her arm up high, as the gaping hole in the roof shone its bright light down on her, like an angel sent from above.
"Unbelievable.... there's so many bedrock between here and the surface..." Corba gasped in awe at what he was witnessing, the light shining down on him also as he got ready to try and catch the girl from in the air.
Outside in the surface, the Straw Hat's were still trying to break up the rebels fighting, and none of them saw how Crocodile's figure was beaten up, falling in the sky from one of their captain's defeating him.
Sanji was the first person to spot the villain, and blinked rapidly to see what it actually was, "Hey, look! Look at that!" He shouted pointing at Crocodile in the sky, which gained the crews attention, and made them all turn in his direction.
All of their eyes went wide, and felt their jaws drop in shock, "Crocodile?!" The group exclaimed together knowing that could only mean one thing, and Vivi, who was still in the clock tower knew it too.
She remembered her talk with (Y/N) and her brother from a few weeks ago, and how she stressed her worry for Alabasta because of Crocodile. But now, there he was, defeated and beaten by the girl who swore she would for the sake of Vivi and her country.
Vivi felt her eyes tear up, a small sob leaving her as a flash of the girls bright smile appeared in her mind, "(Y/N)..." She whispered placing a hand over her mouth, as she stared at Crocodile's figure not truly believing this was happening.
"I don't know why he flew out from such place, but..." Sanji trailed off standing beside Zoro, who held a hysterically crying Happy in his arms, both boys feeling like their hearts were about to explode out from their chests from how happy they felt knowing their beloved won.
"That's right! We knew it from the start!" Luffy and Usopp both cried out in tears also, the captain's arms around the bandaged up male's head for an embrace, "But in any case..."
All of the Straw Hat pirates raised their arms in the air for the girl, Usopp, Happy, Chopper and Luffy jumping up excited as they all cheered together, "SHE WON!"
You did it princess... Zoro thought to himself, a soft smirk perking up at the corner of his lips, as he ignored his own injuries and glanced in the direction to where she just defeated Crocodile, I knew you could do it.
Back inside the tomb underground, Corba softened the girls landing a bit as she slammed into the stone with a weak grunt. She fell into a star fish position, too exhausted to move now and layed there breathing deeply ready for a long nap.
"Hey, kid!" Corba called out from beside her, as more rocks fall around them inside the tomb. He gets up to move closer to her, and now goes to kneel down showing his respect and gratitude, "I give you my thanks."
And as the New World symphony rose to a crescendo, Crocodile lazily fell to earth, while in the subterranean passages of the catacombs, the sun fell on her face.
The light from inside shined down brightly on (Y/N)'s figure, as she laid there but found enough strength to move her mouth. A wide, toothy closed eye smile appeared next, one that looked exactly like her brother's grins, and giggles weakly, "No, problem."
