𝐭𝐰𝐨 - 𝐩𝐨𝐩 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞

𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐰𝐨: 𝐩𝐨𝐩 𝐜𝐮𝐤𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞

𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐍'𝐓 𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐖 her and peter had gotten inside the ship but they did, and made their way through to where the telekinetic alien was keeping doctor strange captive. the sorcerer was being held in the air by the alien, a bunch of huge needles surrounding him. stevie squinted, the lenses of her mask doing the same, the girl realizing that doctor strange's came was missing. her and peter continued to make their way through the ship, trying to find where tony had gone. and when they had found him, the both of them hanging by their own web before they slowly expanded them, letting them get closer and closer to the ground. on their way down, doctor strange's cape had joined tony.

"wow, you're seriously a loyal piece of outerwear, aren't you?" tony questioned, looking at the cape with this look.

"yeah, uh, speaking of loyalty. . ." peter said from his upside-down position, his voice trailing off as tony looked at the two spiderlings.

peter flipped before he let go of his web, stevie just letting go and landing on her feet. "we know what you're gonna say." peter tried, his mask disappearing into his suit.

"you two should not be here." tony told the two, pointing to the both of them.

"we were gonna go home -" stevie chimed in, her mask doing the same thing, her hair disheveled.

"i don't wanna hear it." tony interrupted, waving his hands around as he shook his head.

"but it was such a long way down and we just thought about you on the way -" peter continued, looking at stevie for help.

"and now i gotta hear it." tony mumbled, his hands dropping to his side as he looked at the two teens.

"and we were kinda stuck to the side of the ship." stevie finished, shaking her head slightly as she looked at peter, running out of things to say.

"and this suits is ridiculously intuitive, by the way. so if anything, it's kinda your fault that we're here." the parker boy finished.

"what did you say?" tony questioned, his head snapping to peter.

"i - i take that back." peter quickly fixed.

stevie looked at him with wide eyes, scared that tony would take away their suits. "i - i don't agree sir. they are. . . a normal amount of intuitive."

"and now, we're here in space." peter finished, shrugging slightly.

"yeah, right where i didn't want you to be." tony said, stepping closer to the web heads. "this isn't coney island. this isn't a field trip. this is a one-way ticket. you hear me? don't pretend you thought this through."

"no, we thought this through." peter quickly defended.

"i know you didn't."

"we did think this through!"

"you could not have possibly thought this through." tony quickly shut down, silencing the younger boy. he then turned to look at stevie. "did you even try to talk him out of it, kiddo?"

"i didn't want to." stevie told hum honestly.

"you can't be a friendly neighborhood spider-man and remnant if there's no neighborhood." peter decided to say, both stevie and tony looking at him, confused. "oaky, that didn't really make sense, but you know what i'm trying to say."

tony let out a heavy sigh, looking between peter and stevie. the carpenter girl sent him an awkward smile, making tony have to bite back one of his own. "come on. we got a situation." he moved over towards the edge of the platform that they were on, pointing to where doctor strange was. stevie and peter followed. "see him down there? he's in trouble. what's your plan?"

stevie looked down at doctor strange before she looked to her right, feeling a presence there. she did a double take when she saw the cape right next to her. the cape looked back. . . or at least it looked like it. it turned towards her, almost as if it was attached to a body. it then raised one of it's corners, almost like it was waving. stevie raised a hand to wave back, not exactly sure how to react to a magic cape waving at her.

"kiddo." tony called, making stevie turn to look at him, eyebrows raised.

"i'm sorry. the - the cape waved at me." stevie mumbled, shaking her head slightly as she crouched down besides peter.

the two vigilantes scoped the area out, seeing that the alien was slowly making the needles that surrounded doctor strange penetrate his body. they both looked at each other, silently speaking to one another. tony watched them with furrowed eyebrows, wanting to know how they knew what the other was thinking. he then came to the conclusion that maybe it was some sort of spider. . . hive-mind. the two teens stared at one another for a few more seconds before they nodded, standing up from their crouched positions to look to tony.

"okay. did you ever see this really old movie, aliens?" peter questioned.

tony looked between the both of them, not exactly sure where peter was going with that question. "i'm not really a movie guy. i'm gonna need more than that."

stevie chuckled. "okay, so basically. since you're the only one with the ability to blast things, you are going to go down there - get as close to him as you can without putting yourself in danger, and you're gonna blast a hole through the wall of the ship. we're in space, so whatever's closest to the hole is gonna get sucked out immediately. that also means that one of us will have to get the - wizard before he gets sucked out. it would be real unfortunate to have done all that work just for him to get sucked out with alien."

"stevie." tony mumbled, basically telling her to get back to the plan.

"right! while one us is making sure that the wizard isn't being sucked out, the other is going to go and close the hole. someway, somehow." the carpenter girl finished, a small smile on her face.

"maybe we should figure out who's gonna be the one to grab him." tony said, making stevie nod.

"i vote his cape." she suggested, pointing over towards the cape.

this made tony, peter, and stevie look towards the cape, its seemingly looking around before it nodded. it scared stevie how human like an inanimate object was.

"yep. you bud." tony nodded. "i can't believe i'm talking to a cape."

"are we gonna do this or not?" peter asked, looking between his mentor and his best friend.

"of course we're gonna do this." tony mumbled, sucking in a deep breath before his helmet covered his face.

with that, the stark man made his way down to the same level that the alien and doctor strange was on, trying his hardest to make any noise. peter and stevie crouched down in unison, watching tony closely. the cape then came right beside stevie, looking like it was in a crouched position as well.

peter chuckled. "it liked you."

stevie smiled at that, turning to look at the cape. the cape looked back, stevie feeling like it would be smiling at her if it had a face. "i like it back."

peter then cleared his throat, thinking about the people that him and stevie left back on earth. "so. . . did you tell anyone where we are? or at least where what was happening?"

"i tried to text the group chat, but i'm not sure if the message went through." stevie answered truthfully. she then thought about her mom, dragging a hand down her face. "i can only imagine how freaked out my mom is."

"and may." peter added. "do you think they're safe?"

"yeah. we've taught them how to run and hide pretty well. plus, they're strong women. th - they know how to fight." stevie assured, looking at peter. "they're fine, pete. all we have to do is finish this fucked up mission, and we'll be on our way back home in no time, okay?"

"okay." peter nodded.

without any type of warning, the two teens heardan explosion, which was their cue. they should've been paying attention. the cape was the first to move, quickly making it's way towards doctor strange, wrapping the bottom of itself around his hand in an attempt to stop him from being sucked out of the hole. sadly, that didn't work, doctor strange slipping out of the cape's grip. peter then made a move, his mask climbing up his neck before it covered his face. he shot a web out, it attaching itself onto strange. the both of them flew through the air for a few seconds before peter grabbed something. but that didn't work, it breaking off. they flew towards the hole again, strange going through it. peter was quick to deploy his spider-legs, all four of them quickly stopping him from going through the hole. stevie was quick to jump off the platform, her mask going up her neck before it covered her face.

"yes! wait, what are those?!" stevie heard peter yell through their connection of suits, she watched as he looked back at the spider-legs.

"i'm kinda jealous of your new suit, pete!" she told him, shooting out a web so that it could connect to his back. "imma pull you back in, alright?"

"i actually don't think you have to." peter mumbled.

suddenly, he was making his way towards stevie, the lenses on her mask going wide. stevie planted her feet as peter flew into her, her feet skidding across the platform before they came to a halt. tony was quick to plaster up the hole, this substance coming out from his suit. stevie gently placed peter down beside her, the both of them looking over the edge to see that doctor strange had landed on the platform below them. they dropped down, landing on their feet with ease.

"hey, we haven't officially met." peter introduced, but he was talking to the cape. it "looked" down at his hand before it flew over to it's owner. "cool."

"it seems like it doesn't like you." stevie teased, smiling from under her mask.

"oh, shut up." peter mumbled, his mask disappearing into his suit. stevie's mask did the same.

"we gotta turn this ship around." doctor strange mumbled, standing up.

"yeah, now he wants to run. great plan." tony scoffed, walking past the sorcerer.

"i want to protect the stone." strange correct as the cape attached itself to his shoulders. stevie watched with raised eyebrows, not understanding how it's just suddenly acting like an inanimate object.

"and i want you to thank me." tony announced, walking over to seems like the controls. "now, go ahead. i'm listening."

"for what? nearly blasting me into space?" strange challenged.

"who just saved your magical ass? me" tony reminded, making stevie look over at peter.

"i seriously don't know how you fit your head into that helmet." strange commented.

"admit it, you should've ducked out when i told you to. i tried to bench you. you refused." tony said.

"unlike everyone else in your life, i don't work for you." strange told tony, matter-of-factly.

"and due to that fact, we're now in a flying doughnut, billions of miles from earth, with no backup." tony pointed out.

"we're back up." stevie and peter chirped in unison.

"no, you're stowaways. the adults are talking." tony quickly corrected, gesturing to himself and strange.

"i'm sorry, i'm confused as to the relationship here. what are they, your wards?" strange asked, motioning to the two teens.

"no." peter answered. he then stepped forward, holding his hand out. "i'm peter, by the way."

"doctor strange." the sorcerer introduced, not even making a move to shake peter's hand.

"oh, you're using our made-up names." peter mumbled, glancing at stevie before he looked back at strange. "um, i'm spider-man, then."

"uh, i'm remnant." stevie chimed in, raising her hand slightly.

doctor strange looked between the two vigilantes, not saying a word. stevie shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, awkwardly folding her arms over her chest. strange turned back to look at tony.

"this ship is self-correcting its course. thing's in autopilot." tony informed, arms crossed over his chest as well.

"can we control it? fly us home?" strange quizzed.

tony didn't answer, leaving peter and stevie worried. tony had an answer for everything, even if it was a sarcastic one that didn't really help. stevie would rather hear a sarcastic answer than no answer at all from the man. him not answering made an unsettling feeling appear in her stomach.

"stark?" strange called.

"yeah." tony answered, his head snapping towards the sorcerer.

"can you get us home?" strange repeated.

"yeah, i heard you." tony nodded, going into thought. "i'm thinking i'm not so sure we should."

that definitely wasn't the answer that stevie wanted to hear. tony wanted to continue the journey to thanos? after everything they did to stop the telekinetic alien from killing strange and taking the time stone, tony still wanted to go.

"under no circumstances can we bring the time stone to thanos." strange shot down immediately. stevie was glad that she wasn't the only one that didn't like that plan. "i don't think you quite understand what's at stake here."

"what? no, it's you who doesn't understand that thanos has been inside my head for six years." tony admitted, walking towards strange until he was only a few inches away. stevie raised her eyebrows. "since he sent an army to new york and now's he back. and i don't know what to do. so i'm not so sure if it's a better plan to fight him on our turf or his, but you saw what they did, what they can do. at least on his turf, he's not expecting it. so, i say we take the fight to him. doctor. do you concur?"

"all right, stark. we go to him. but you have to understand. . . if it comes to you or the kids or the time stone. . . i will not hesitate to let all three of you die." strange told tony. stevie looked at peter with wide eyes, the parker boy looking back. "i can't, because the universe depends on it."

"nice. good, moral compass. we're straight." tony nodded, patting strange's arm. he then walked over to where peter and stevie were standing. "all right, guys." he started, placing his right hand on each of their shoulders before he began to walk away. "you're both avengers now."

stevie looked at the older man with wide eyes, not expecting those words to leave his mouth. she sucked in a deep breath, the words processing in her mind. she then looked over at peter, seeing that he had a small smile on his lips. she nodded at that, coming to the conclusion that this was a good thing. she looked away, trying to hype herself up. but no matter how she tried to feel, she couldn't ignore the little voice in the back of her head.

"we should've stayed on the bus." she mumbled.

𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 able to know how much time had passed since she got knighted into the avengers. but there was no way to tell time and she couldn't tell if minutes or hours had passed since then. she had been flipping and swinging around on platforms to occupy herself. she had even been practicing turning invisible, sneaking up on peter multiple times before scaring him. she wished she had service, wanting to texting mj and donnie to make sure that they were okay. peter walked over to her before he dragged her to where dr.strange and tony were, looking out the window. stevie's eyes widened when she had seen that they were quickly approaching what looked like the ground of a planet.

"hey, what's going on?" peter questioned.

"i think we're here." tony mumbled, never taking his eyes off what he was looking at. "i don't think this rig has a self-park function." he then walked over to what looked like a big piece of machinery, sticking his hand inside as he looked at peter. "get your hand inside the steering gimbal. close those around it. you understand?" he explained, peter doing everything he was told.

"yep, got it." the parker boy nodded.

"this was meant for one big guy, so we gotta move at the same time." tony told him, looking at stevie for a few seconds. "stevie, help him."

the carpenter girl placed his hands onto the gimbal that peter was controlling, readying herself. they all watched as they approached a tall structure. "should we turn? shouldn't we turn? i think we should turn!"

the three of them all tried their hardest to push to the right. all of their masks crawled up their heads as a way to protect themselves from anything. dr.strange then moved his hands around, casting a spell so that a huge shield would surround them. if they weren't hurtling towards the ground, stevie probably would've geeked out about how cool the shield had looked. but she didn't even have time to think before the ship came in contact with the ground. she flew forward, peter quickly grabbing her so that she wouldn't go far. he then shot out a web so that they wouldn't make any contact with the floor. once all the chaos had calmed down, both peter and stevie's mask retracted into their suit. they then slowly came down the web, seeing that dr.strange and tony were alright and talking to one another.

"let me just say, if aliens wind up implanting eggs into my chest or something and i eat one of you, i'm sorry." peter apologized, a small smile pulling at steve's lips.

"i do not want another single pop culture reference out of you for the rest of the trip. you understand?" tony told him, pointing a stern finger towards the younger boy.

"i'm trying to say that something is coming." peter announced, gesturing behind him and stevie.

suddenly, a silver orb rolled onto the floor, stopping right in the middle of them. before they could react, the orb exploding, sending all of them flying in different directions. stevie's suit was quick to make her mask surround her head once again, helping the girl not get a concussion. before she could react, she heard a bunch of fighting. she stood up, looking around for peter. her heart dropped when she saw a woman with antennas hovering over him. he quickly started to back away, yelling something that had to do with the alien movies. she shot out a few webs, peter doing the same thing. then a man with a really scary but really cool mask and ray guns came out of nowhere and kicked him.

stevie grumbled something under her breath as she started to shoot webs at him, aiming it at his mask so that the man wouldn't be able to see. she then sucked in a breath, disappearing as she ran towards him. she shot out a web, holding onto it so she could swing. her legs came in contact with the guy's head, the same way his legs came in contact with peter's a few seconds before. the man made a noise of disgust as he pulled the webs from his helmet, quickly raising his ray gun and shooting around so that he could hit the invisible force that had kicked him. a yell came out of stevie's mouth as one of the beams his her, burning a few nanobots. a few little bots from her helmet was quick to move towards the spot that had been hit. she came out of her invisible state, now seeing that the unknown man was shooting at peter, who was using his spider arms to get away.

peter then jumped, going to attack the man. but the man had thrown something at the boy, it opening up before it wrapped around peter. stevie was quick to run towards peter, but the man quickly threw something at her as well. it attached itself onto her back before it started to send electrical currents through her body. she fell to the floor as her body shook, her muscles tensing up. she tried to reach for whatever it was, feeling like she was going in slow motion before she was actually able to pull it off her back. she quickly stood up but froze when she had seen that the man had peter in his hold, a ray gun aimed at his head

"everybody stay where you are. chill the eff out." the man ordered, quickly brining his hand up to his helmet, pressing a button to make it retract. he then aimed his gun towards tony. stevie was shocked to see that he had looked human. "i'm gonna ask you this one time. where is gamora?"

"yeah, i'll do you one better." tony said, having his hand aimed at the man as his helmet retracted back into his suit. "who's gamora?"

"i'll do you one better. why is gamora?" the gray toned man with red markings chimed in. he was on the floor, tony currently aiming his other hand at him.

"are we suddenly in elementary school?" stevie mumbled, not being able to stop herself.

"tell me where the girl is or i swear to you i'm gonna french fry this little freak." the unknown man threatened.

"let's do it! you shoot my guy, i'll blast him! let's go!" tony challenged, his hand aimed at the gray-toned man quickly turning into a ray gun of some sorts, it powering up.

"do it, quill! i can take it." the man on the floor said.

"no, he can't take it!" the lady with the antennas quick jumped in.

"she's right. you can't." strange agreed.

"oh, yeah? you don't wanna tell me where she is? that's fine. i'll kill all four of you and i'll beat it out of thanos myself. starting with you." the unknown man started back up again, looking down at peter.

"wait, what? thanos? all right, let me ask you this one time. what master do you serve?" strange quizzed.

"what master do i serve?" the man repeated. "what am i supposed to say, 'jesus'?"

tony and stevie quickly shared a look with one another before they turned back to the man. "you're from earth."

"i'm not from earth, i'm from missouri." the man corrected.

"yeah, that's on earth, dipshit." tony told him. "what are you hassling us for?

"so you're not with thanos?" peter questioned, his voice soft.

"with thanos? no, i'm here to kill thanos. he took my girl." the man admitted. "wait, who're you?"

stevie watched as peter's helmet retracted into his suit, making the curly haired girl immediately do the same thing. "we're the avengers, man."

"you're the ones thor told us about." the lady with the antennas said.

"you know thor?" tony asked.

"yeah. tall guy, not that good-looking, needed saving." the unknown man listed, both stevie and peter looking at him like he was crazy.

"where is he now?" strange stepped in.

"so. . . we're just gonna act like all of that didn't happen?" stevie asked, turning around to look at tony. the older man nodded his head, a small pout appearing on her face. she was mad that she had gotten electrocuted.

daij speaks!
wowwwwwwwww. it's been almost two years since i touched this book. i'm so sorry. i'd write out an excuse, but i don't have one. i love tony's dynamic with his two children, it's just so cute.

i hope you guys enjoyed.
