π’π“π„π•πˆπ„ 𝐖𝐀𝐒 π’πˆπ“π“πˆππ† 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 bleachers in the gym. she was sitting next to donnie, who had either skipped his class or got out early and decided to come here. he wouldn't tell her which one. they we're watching everyone do their workouts with their partners, stevie finishing hers with ease. she might've used her abilities to do so, but it wasn't like she struggled before she got them. peter was doing sit ups with ned holding his feet down, the both of them talking about something. stevie didn't care enough to listen, she just hoped it wasn't anything dumb.

"is michelle working out with a book?" donnie questioned, making stevie look at him with furrowed eyebrows before she followed his gaze.

her eyebrows raised when she saw mj was in fact, working out with a book. "yes. yes, she is."

"she is one unique person, isn't she?"

stevie smiled at that, admiration written all over her face. "yeah."

"hey, don, stevie! you guys wanna play fuck, marry, kill?" liz asked, making the two look over at her.

"yeah." donnie answered, grabbing stevie's hand as he got up.

the carpenter girl let out a groan as she let the boy drag her over to the small group that was sat on the bleachers a few rows below them. "i was comfy."

"too bad." donnie mumbled as he pushed her down next to jason.

"okay, here's one." jason started, making everyone turn to look at him. "thor, iron man, hulk."

donnie hummed, tilting his head to side. "fuck iron man, marry thor, and kill hulk."

"now, see, for me, it would be f thor, marry iron man, and kill hulk." betty brant answered, making stevie point at her in agreement.

"you're gay." donnie reminded.

"oh, yeah. never mind." stevie nodded, leaning into the watson boy.

"well, what about the spider-man and remnant?" seymour asked, looking at betty.

that made donnie and stevie perk up, that question gaining peter and ned's attention too. peter looked at stevie, the carpenter girl raising her eyebrows. donnie still didn't know that peter was spider-man, and ned didn't know that stevie was remnant. the two vigilantes decided that they would tell them when they see fit, but that hasn't happened yet.

"it's just spider-man." liz corrected. "did you guys see the bank security cam on youtube? they fought off four guys."

"oh, my god, she's crushing on them." betty mumbled, a teasing smile on her face.

"no way." seymour said.

"kind of." liz shrugged.

"oh, gross." betty hissed.

"wait, so you're crushing on remnant too?" stevie questioned, eyebrows raised as she tried to hide her excitement.

"maybe." liz answered.

stevie nodded, feeling happy about this whole situation. i mean, she didn't have no feelings for liz, but she was happy to hear that people were starting to like her. she had been seeing pictures on instagram of her and peter in their suits, swinging through the streets of new york. there were videos of them saving the day, and each time she saw, she would send them to peter and donnie.

"they're probably, like, 30." betty pointed out.

"you don't even know what they look like" seymour added. "what if he's, like, seriously burnt? or she has bunch of claw marks all over her face?"

"i wouldn't care. i would still love them for the people they are inside." liz answered.

"peter knows spider-man and remnant!" ned yelled at, making everyone in the gym look at him.

stevie looked at donnie with wide eyes before she looked over at peter, who was also staring at his best friend like he was crazy. donnie was looking at ned with raised eyebrows, slowly putting the pieces together, but not just yet.

"no, i don't. no. i - i mean -" peter quickly said, shooting up from his gym mat before he started to walk over to the bleachers.

"they're friends." ned interrupted.

"yeah, like coach wilson and captain america are friends." flash remarked, earning a glare from donnie and stevie.

"i've met them, yeah. a couple of times. but it's, um, through the stark internship." peter lied, catching stevie's eyes for a second before he turned to look at ned. "yeah, well, i'm not really supposed to talk about it."

"well, that's awesome." flash said, slowly walking towards peter. "hey, you know what? maybe you should invite him to liz's party. right?"

"yeah, um, i'm having people over tonight. you're more than welcome to come." liz nodded, looking at peter with a smile on her face.

"having a party?" the parker boy repeated.

"yeah, it's gonna be dope. you should totally invite your personal friends spider-man and remnant." flash told him.

"um. . ."

"it's okay. i know peter's way too busy for parties anyway, so. . ." liz mumbled.

"come on. he'll be there. right, parker?" flash asked, walking past the boy in question just as the bell rang.

stevie quickly jumped off the bleachers, landing with ease before she quickly started to make her way towards peter and ned. donnie tried to keep up, but the girl was using her advanced speed, so he just gave up. he watched as the carpenter girl quickly grabbed the two boys by the collar of their shirts before she dragged them out of the gym. he joined them with a small smile on his face, glad that he wasn't the one getting in trouble by mama bear.

stevie took the boys into an empty classroom, waiting by the door for donnie. when the long haired boy did enter the classroom, she slammed the door shut before she turned towards the three boys. "what is wrong with you?"

"what?" peter asked, eyebrows knitted together in confusion.

"you didn't say no. do you really think that it's a good idea to be showing spider-man off like that?" stevie questioned.

"i wasn't the one who said anything!" peter quickly defended.

"and now, i gotta come and show off remnant. at a party at that!" stevie said, obviously frustrated.

"wait. . ." donnie and ned both said in unison, looking between the two teens with raised eyebrows.

"oh, yeah." peter said, letting out an airy chuckle. "don, i'm spider-man."

"and i'm remnant." stevie finished, turning to look at ned.

"no way!" donnie and ned said in unison, donnie looking at peter with eyes full of emotion while the latter was look at stevie with pure admiration.

"d - do you know tony stark, too? did he make you a suit? how did you get your powers? did you get bit by the same spider that peter did?" ned quickly asked, stevie looking at him with raised eyebrows.

"breathe, ned! breath!" she quickly said, making the boy suck in a deep breath. " no, i don't know tony stark. he didn't make my suit, i - we made my suit. i got bit by a spider, but not the same one as peter."

"whoa!" ned let out, still looking at the curly haired girl with pure admiration on his face.

"stevie." peter called, making the girl in question look at him with raised eyebrows. "i get that you're mad. and you have every right to be. but. . . please come with us to liz's party. this - this can finally be my chance to get with liz. please. i'm begging you. and - and i'm pretty sure michelle is gonna be there."

stevie let out a huff, dropping her head as she thought about her choices. she could either go to the party and show her secret identity off like she was a party trick. or she could go home and relax. she looked over to donnie, the watson boy shrugging his shoulders. if stevie didn't want to go, then he wouldn't go.

"fine." stevie mumbled.

"yes! you're the best, stevie. you're the freaking best!" peter exclaimed, quickly pulling the girl into a hug.

"yeah, whatever." stevie mumbled. "i'm only going to make sure you don't do something stupid."

"that's completely fair." peter nodded, pulling away. "still better than you not going at all."

"i hope i don't regret this." stevie said, looking at donnie.

"oh, you definitely will." he smiled. "but, luckily. i'll be there."

"my worse nightmare."

"house party in the suburbs." may started, making stevie look at her. "oh, i remember these. kind of jealous."

"it'll be a night to remember." ned spoke up, a big grin on his face.

may look through her rearview mirror at the boy, mirroring his smile. "oh. . . ned, some hats wear men. you wear that hat."

"yeah, it gives me confidence." ned nodded.

"this is a mistake." peter whispered but everyone heard it, making them look at him. "hey, let's just go home."

"oh, peter. i know. i know it's really hard trying to fit in with all the changes your body's going through. it's flowering now." may told her nephew, making stevie snort from her seat in the back. the older woman then turned to the three teens in the back seat. "he's so stressed out lately."

"what helps with stress is going to a party. we should go to the party." ned said, looking at peter with a suggestive look on his face.

"yeah. i'm gonna go" peter mumbled to himself, quickly unbuckling his seatbelt before he got out the car.

"peter. . ." may called, making the boy in question look at her. "have fun, okay?"

"okay. i will." peter nodded.

stevie unbuckled her seat belt before she opened the door. she climbed out and let out a stretch, feeling relief fill her muscles. she then twisted around, feeling her back crack, making donnie grimace as he got out of the car behind her.

"stevie." may called.

"yes, may?" stevie asked, looking through the passenger side window.

"make sure they don't do anything stupid."

stevie smiled, "i will."

"bye, may!" ned waved as stevie pulled away from the car.

the group turned around to start walking towards the house, seeing a lot of people scattered around the yard. stevie waved to a few of them, putting on a small smile. she felt donnie wrap his arm around her shoulders, making her wrap her arm around his waist.

"guys, you have your suits, right?" ned asked.

instead of giving a verbal answer, peter pulled the sleeve of his blue flannel up to reveal his suit underneath. the boys then turned to stevie, who simply reached for the collar of her shirt and pulled it down, revealing the black, maroon suit with gray stitching that resembled webbing. she had her hair into braids already, not wanting to struggle to put her hair into her mask.

"this is gonna change our lives." ned said, excitement dripping from his tone

the group of four entered the house, stevie wincing slightly when music filled her ears. she blinked to get her heightened sense in check, holding onto donnie a little tighter so that she wouldn't lose her balance. the boy looked down at her, immediately getting worried as he seen her shake her head.

"you okay?" he asked.

"yeah. sense just gotta get used to everything." stevie mumbled, looking up at her best friend.

the both of them looked around at the house, taking in every detail. there were teenagers with red cups in their hands, filled with alcoholic beverages. flash was standing at the dj booth, headphones covering his ears as he did his "magic." stevie's eyes almost immediately landed on a certain girl, who was spreading peanut butter on some toast as she stood in the kitchen. the carpenter girl smiled slightly, feeling a warm feeling appear in her stomach.

"okay. we're gonna have spider-man and remnant swing in, say you guys are tight, and then don and i get some fist bumps or one of those half bro-hugs." ned explained to the two vigilantes, making sure to keep his voice low so that no one else would hear.

"can't believe the four of you are at this lame party." the voice of michelle jones spoke up, making the four teens look at her.

"but you're here too." ned pointed out, his eyes narrowed.

mj simply tilted her head, "am i?"

with that, she placed the butter knife she was using to spread the peanut butter down on the counter before she walked away, her eyes lingering on stevie for a few seconds.

"oh, my gosh." liz started, making the quartet turn towards her. "hey, guys. cool hat, ned."

"hi, liz." ned greeted, a smile pulling at the corner of his lips.

"hi, liz." peter repeated awkwardly, his voice cracking as the older girl crept closer to them.

donnie discreetly rolled his eyes, jealous of the affect that liz had on the boy that he had feelings for. but stevie caught the eye roll, squeezing his waist to give the taller boy some sort of comfort.

"i'm so happy you guys came. there's pizza and drinks. help yourselves." liz told them.

"what a great party." peter said, his voice cracking once again.

"thanks." liz smiled. the sound of someone yelling and then glass shattering gained her attention. "oh, i - my parents will kill me if anything's broken, i gotta -"

"yeah."

"have fun." liz said before she walked away.

"bye." ned waved.

stevie waited for liz to be out of ear shot before she stepped in front of the boys, a teasing smile on her face as she looked at peter. "'what a great party.'" she mimicked, making sure to add extra cracks into her voice.

"oh, don't act like you don't get nervous around mj!" peter quickly defended. "'oh, i - i don't mind if you walk me to the - the library.'"

"yeah, well, at least i don't sound like i'm going through puberty." stevie quickly shot back. "now, if you'll excuse me, i believe she said there was pizza."

stevie walking away from her friends and into the kitchen going to the stack of pizza boxes that were on the counter. she opened the top box and pulled out a slice, a small content smile pulling at her lips as she took a bite. she quickly grab the little paper plates before she got herself two more slices and walked through the kitchen, still munching on the slice that was in her hand.

"penis parker!" the voice of flash appeared through the speakers, making stevie flinch from how loud his voice was. "what's up? so where's your pals spider-man and remnant? let me guess: in canada with your imaginary girlfriend? that's not spider-man or remnant. that's ned in a red shirt and donnie in a green hoodie."

stevie's jaw clenched, stomping pass her friends and towards flash. donnie saw this, immediately stepping forward and grabbing at her long sleeve shirt to pull her towards him. he quickly wrapped his arms around her waist and picked her up, making sure not to drop any of her slices as he walked towards the back door that led to the pool in the back. the carpenter girl was cursing and swearing as she was being carried away, saying something about how she was gonna beat the living crap out of flash.

"there will be no killing anyone tonight, stevie. so just sit down, watch people jump in and out of the pool, and eat your pizza." donnie told her as he placed her down on one of the chairs.

"who does he think he is? embarrassing you guys." stevie mumbled, lifting a slice of pizza to her mouth. "he's lucky you stopped me because he would've been in a lot of fucking pain right now."

"yeah, i know." donnie laughed. he then bent down and kissed her on the top of her head. "i'm gonna go back inside. you want anything?"

"no." stevie shook her head.

with that, he went back inside and went over to ned and peter. stevie sat there and quietly ate her pizza, pulling her phone out so that she could go through social media. she went to instagram and to her explore page, smiling when a picture of remnant caught her attention. she clicked on it before she double tapped the screen.

"uh, hi." a familiar voice greeted, making stevie look up from her phone to see mj.

"h - hi. hey." stevie stuttered, making mj smile.

"can i sit?" mj questioned.

"of course."

mj sat down besides stevie, their shoulders brushing together as she did so. stevie feltt her cheeks heat up from the sudden contact, ignoring the sparks that shot through her arm. what she didn't know was that mj felt the sparks fly through her arm too. michelle looked down at stevie's phone, seeing a picture of remnant.

"are you a fan of her?" mj asked, pointing to the picture on stevie's phone.

stevie looked down, "oh, uh, yeah. i think she's pretty great."

"yeah, me too. i love the color scheme of her suit. it's different." mj admitted, a small smile on her lips.

"how come?" stevie mumbled, mirroring the smile.

"oh. uh, sadly, in this country, when someone sees a dark color or black, they think of fear or something negative. doesn't matter if it's a person, or an object or something, right?" mj started, making stevie nod. "but with remnant, she's changing their minds. her suit is beautiful but dark. but she's not a bad person, right? she's helping people. saving people from fires or rogue buses."

"huh. i never thought of it like that." stevie muttered, taking everything that mj said into thought.

"yeah." mj said, her smile widening. "uh, how have you been sleeping these last few months?"

"better. some nights i can barely sleep, but others i sleep through the whole night." the carpenter girl answered, surprised that mj had remembered that.

"that's good." mj nodded, a smile still on her face.

stevie's spine went straight, something telling her to turn around and look up. and when she did, she saw peter crouched onto of the small pool house. she let out a sigh when she realized that he was pulling his clothes off to reveal his suit. she didn't want to stop talking to mj, but she did make a promise to the boy that she would bring remnant out. and if he's getting ready to make his appearance, so will she.

"hey, i'm sorry. i - i gotta go to the bathroom, okay? i'll be back." stevie told mj, standing up. "can - can you hold my pizza, please?"

"uh, sure." mj said, grabbing the plate.

"thanks." stevie let out, walking over to the house.

she turned back around, seeing that mj was distracted by something. she quickly ran over to the pool house and climbed up the back of it, making sure no one saw her. "you just had to come and change right this second, huh?"

"flash said something stupid, and i just wanna prove to him that he's wrong." peter defended, pulling his t-shirt over his head.

"flash always says something stupid. it's what makes him flash." stevie shot back as she pulled off her long sleeve shirt, throwing it on the roof. "i was talking to mj."

"oh, i saw." peter smiled.

stevie pulled her jeans down as she kicked her sneakers off. she let out a sigh, glad that she wasn't wearing so many layers of clothing anymore. she heard peter mumbling to himself, practicing what he was gonna say when the two of them made their grand entrance. stevie couldn't help but laugh.

"this is stupid, right?" peter questioned, making stevie look at him. "god, what am i doing?"

"it is stupid." stevie nodded, crouching down next to the boy. "but i get why you're doing it."

before peter could say anything else, the sound of a blast caught their attention. this made the both of them look straight ahead, seeing a bright blue explosion from a few miles away. stevie let out a sigh, looking over to mj, who was patiently waiting for her return. she then pulled her phone out, going to text donnie as peter started to drag her to the roofs of liz's house. she jumped onto it with ease, still texting her best friend.

"stevie!" peter hissed as they reached the edge of the roof, his mask on.

"sorry. i was texting don!" she reasoned, pulling her own mask over her own head before the both of them jumping off the roof before they flung their arms out.
