"i need something to wear to homecoming." stevie announced.

"homecoming?" erin repeated, not expecting the word to come out of stevie's mouth. the younger girl was never really into school dances before. "you're going to homecoming? with who?"

"michelle jones." stevie answered, a small smile pulling at her lips at the thought of the girl.

"the girl that was texting you so much last week?" erin questioned, stevie nodding her head frantically. "who asked who?"

"me." stevie mumbled, her smile widening slightly.

"oh, i'm so proud of you, baby girl." erin admitted, standing up from the couch. she walked over to her daughter, placing her hands onto stevie's shoulders. "what do you want to wear? a dress? a suit? choice is yours."

"uh. . ." stevie started, going in thought since she didn't really think about that. "a suit? yeah, i wanna wear a suit."

"suit it is." erin nodded, walking away from stevie and towards the door.

"where are you going?" stevie asked, eyebrows furrowed slightly.

erin looked over at the curly haired girl, eyebrows raised slightly as she slipped her feet into some sneakers. "to get you a suit, obviously. now, come on. we don't have that much time."

"we have, like, five hours." stevie pointed out.

"bring your ass." erin ordered, making the younger carpenter run towards her and out the door.

"ma, can i take the car?" stevie asked, making erin look at her with raised eyebrows before she looked back at the road.

"no." the older woman shook her head, stopping at a red light.

"please, ma. imagine how embarrassing it is for your mother to be taking you and your date to the dance." stevie begged, turning to look at her mom fully.

"stevie, you don't even have your permit yet." erin pointed out.

"i know but donnie has been letting me drive his van around for awhile, okay." stevie quickly said. "i've been driving to school and in parking lots. i know how to signal, i know to check all my mirrors. please, ma! please? i wanna impress her!"

"and showing her that you know how to drive is going to impress her?" erin questioned, noticing that the light turned green. she pressed the accelerator, making the car go forward.

"probably not. but please." stevie answered truthfully.

"okay, fine. fine. just let me go home and she's all yours." erin laughed.

"yes! you are the best, ma!" stevie smiled, pumping her fists into the air.

"yeah, yeah. whatever." erin mumbled, turning into the block that held their apartment building. she parked in front of their building. she turned the car off, turning to face her daughter. "you gonna wear your remnant suit under?"

"i already have it on." stevie shrugged.

"really? this whole time?" erin quizzed.

"i always have it on. or in my bag." stevie nodded.

"okay. well, be careful. have fun. don't crash the car or i'll beat your ass." the older carpenter listed, her voice going serious at the end.

"yes, ma'am." stevie mumbled.

erin nodded, placing a kiss onto stevie's head. she then got out of the car, walking towards the building. stevie smiled at that, watching her mother go inside before she climbed into the driver's seat. she squealed to herself, looking around the car for a few seconds. this would the first time she'd be driving by herself, no supervision. she started the car, buckling her seatbelt before she pulled off. she went to the address that mj had texted her, making sure to do the speed limit so she wouldn't get pulled over. she didn't have a permit and she didn't want her mother to get in trouble.

when she pulled up in front of the address, looking to see that it was a house. stevie sucked in a breath, suddenly feeling nervous. she grabbed the corsage that her mother forced her to get, stepping out of the car. she walked over to the house, walking onto the porch before she rang the doorbell. she looked down at her sleeves while she waited, making sure that her remnant suit was covered. she looked up when she heard the door opened, revealing mj standing there. stevie's jaw went slack, her eyebrows raising.

"uh. . ." stevie started, the words getting caught in her throat.

"hi." mj greeted.

"h - hey." stevie breathed out. she then looked down at the corsage in her hands, shaking her head. "uh, i mean. you l - look beautiful."

mj smiled at that, laughing at stevie's nervousness. "thank you. you look beautiful too, steph."

"uh, m - my mom made me get a corsage." stevie decided to informed. "i told her that you're not the type of girl that would be into having a corsage, but she said that it was a must."

"it's okay." mj laughed, taking the corsage container from stevie's hand. she noticed that the corsage was black, which made her smile. "you wanna put it on for me?"

"yeah." stevie answered, gently taking the corsage out. she then expanded the band before she placed it onto mj's wrist. "you, uh, you ready to go?"

"yeah." mj nodded.

with that, the taller girl stepped out and closed the door behind her. stevie ran around her so that she could open the door for her, mj sending the nervous girl a smile as she climbed into the car. she watched as stevie ran around the front of the car before climbing in herself, the frantic girl releasing a breath as she turned the car on. stevie pulled off, heading towards the school. they talked during the ride, stevie becoming more relaxed as time went on.

when they had gotten to the school, stevie parked as close as she could. mj had gotten out of the car before stevie could open the door for her, sending the spiderling a smile as she walked around to her. the two walked to the school building together. they entered, stevie holding the door open for mj. when they entered, they went straight to the gym, looking around to see how it was decorated.

"liz did a great job." stevie said, having to raise her voice due to the music.

"she did." mj agreed.

"uh, do you want a drink or anything?" stevie questioned.

"steph." mj called, seeing that the carpenter girl was still nervous.

"yeah?" stevie mumbled, eyebrows raised slightly.

"you wanna dance?" mj asked.

"y - yeah." stevie nodded.

before she could react, the taller girl slipped her hand into stevie's and pulled her onto the dance floor. stevie's cheeks heated up at the contact, her blush deepening when she noticed that ned was smiling at her. mj then stopped, turning to stevie as she grabbed both of stevie's hands. she then placed stevie's hands onto her waist before she placed her own around stevie's neck. mj could see stevie's crimson cheeks, which only made her realize that her own had heated up. she also noticed that stevie had been looking around, a worried look on her face.

"what's got you so nervous?" mj asked, gaining the shorter girl's attention.

"i - i'm not officially out to everyone here. only the boys and the decathlon team knows." stevie answered. "i'm just scared that a lot of people won't take it well."

"screw them." mj shrugged. "you came here to have a good time and to dance with me. don't let anyone change that, okay?"

"yeah." stevie nodded.

"good." mj smiled, the both of them starting to sway to the music that was playing.

silence fell over the two, the both of them just swaying to the music. they didn't have the need to talk to one another, just enjoying each other's company. stevie was content, glad that she had gotten the courage to ask out the girl that she's had feelings for the longest. she didn't know how mj felt (cause she was totally oblivious), but she was just happy that she said yes to coming with her. but stevie's happy mood suddenly changed, her eyebrows furrowing when a wave of anxiety had smacked her in the face. but it wasn't her anxiety. she looked around, her eyebrows still furrowed as she scanned for who might be causing her to feel this way.

but she didn't need to scan for long, peter parker suddenly appearing to her right with a frantic look on his face. both girls turned to look at him, stevie looking at him with worried eyes while mj just looked confused, wondering where the parker boy had came from.

"i'm so sorry, mj. can i take stevie away from you for a sec?" he asked, his hand already taking ahold of stevie's arm.

"uh, yeah." mj nodded, moving her hands away from stevie's neck. she sent the shorter girl a smile as she walked away.

"what's wrong? i could feel your anxiety way before you even walked up to me." stevie questioned, her eyebrows furrowed as she looked at him.

"liz allan's dad is vulture." peter informed, making stevie's eyebrows shoot up along her forehead. "d - donnie's van had broke down, a - and we were close to liz's house. so i guess that they saw us on the side of the road and he offered us a ride. but then we somehow started talking about how i had disappeared in washington. and when we had gotten here, he made donnie and liz step out of the car. he basically threatened me with a gun, stevie." he explained frantically, making sure that his voice was barely above a whisper so only stevie could hear him.

"w - what?" stevie asked, her eyebrows raising in shock.

"the man that we saw on the ferry - the old dude! he's liz's dad." peter continued, looking around frantically. "look, i - i left my phone his car to track him. i'm gonna go follow him, okay? you don't have to come with me if you don't want, but i just didn't want you to worry when i didn't show up."

"i'm going with you." stevie quickly told him, her voice stern.

"no, no. you finally - you finally asked mj out. i couldn't ask you to come and help me." peter shook his head.

"well, luckily, you didn't ask me." stevie shot back, walking away from the boy and over to where mj had gone. when she had found her, she gently grabbed at her arm, gaining the taller girl's attention. "i'm sorry to do this, because i really. . . really want to stay here and dance with you. but peter really needs my help with something. i'm sorry, okay? i - i'll make it up to you."

"it's okay, steph." mj shook her head, seeing the panicked look on the girl's face.

"i'm sorry." stevie apologized, backing away slightly. "i'm sorry, okay?" she repeated, turning around and walking towards peter.

the two web heads exited the gym, peter going down a certain hall so that he could get his old spider-man suit. stevie was about to roughly take her suit off, but then she remembered that it was a rental. she cursed under her breath, starting to gently unbutton her blazer before doing the same to her shirt. she then unbuttoned her pants, kicking her shoes off. she was left in her remnant suit, pulling her mask out and placing it in her mouth. she then gently folded the suit, making sure there weren't any wrinkles.

"are you seriously folding your suit?" peter questioned.

"it's a rental!" stevie quickly reasoned, holding her folded pile of clothes. she thens started to run towards her locker, taking her mask out her mouth before she pulled it on. "i'll be back!"

she turned into the hallway that her locker was in, running right towards it. she slid across the floor before she came to a stop right in front of her locker, putting her combination in and opening it up. she placed her clothes inside, glad that her locker was nice and clean so that the suit wouldn't be messed up. she then ran back towards peter, seeing that he was running down the hall already. she caught up to him with ease , loving the face that she was faster than him. she took in his old suit, having not seen it up close before. the parker boy was attaching his own web shooters onto his wrist, the both of them running up to an exit before opening it.

they ran outside and into the parking lot that was filled with school buses. peter then suddenly got hit with a familiar glove, sending his body flying through the air. his web shooters went flying out his hands, landing on the ground a few feet away from him. stevie was quick to run towards peter but she was interrupted by the glove punching her in her gut, sending her up in the air before she came back down, landing facedown on the ground. she wheezed, having the wind knocked out of her.

"he gave you a choice." a familiar voice appeared, walking towards peter. stevie looked up from her spot, turning onto her back as she continued to wheeze. "you chose wrong."

"what the hell?" peter breathed out, slowly sitting up. he looked over towards stevie, seeing her rolling around in her spot.

"what's with the crappy costume?" the bald guy questioned, gesturing to peter's homemade suit. he then moved his hand, causing the glove to crackle.

peter looked over to where his web shooters were, stevie picking up on this. without another word, peter shot up from his spot on the ground and ran towards his web shooters, reaching for them blindly. but before he could fully grasp them, the bald guy slammed his shock glove into one of the school buses, making it move towards peter. the back of the bus slammed right into the spiderling, sending him flying into another one, denting the side of it. peter crumbled to the ground, his web shooter dropping to the ground. bald guy walked towards him, kicking the web shooter out of peter's reach.

stevie had suddenly shot up from her spot, running towards the man before she grabbed ahold of the arm that had the shock glove, seeing that he was about to punch peter again. the man looked at her with raised eyebrows before a cynical smile pulled at his lips. he quickly elbowed remnant in her face, making her stumble back. he then turned towards her completely, pulling his right arm back before lunging it forward, the shock glove combing in contact with stevie's face. she went flying backwards, flying straight through a school bus. she whimpered as she came in contact with one of the seats, the wind being knocked out from her again. she groaned, bringing her hand up to her face that was now throbbing with pain.

peter had appeared beside her, somehow getting away from shock glove man. he check to see if she was okay, noticing that her mask had ripped in the chin part, blood dripping down. he picked her up, his heart breaking at the sound of stevie whimpering. he then looked up, seeing that the man had walked around the school bus.

"why did he send you here?" peter asked, the lenses on his mask narrowing.

"guess you'll never know." bald man answered as he raising his glove, electricity crackling as he started to power it up.

but before he could hit either one of the web heads, a web attached itself onto the glove. both stevie and peter turned to see that ned and donnie were standing there, ned having one of peter's web shooters in his hands.

"nice shot!" peter exclaimed as he stood up, pulling stevie up with him. he quickly grabbed ahold of the web, pulling it down. that made the glove fly off of bald man's hand, as well as making the web shooter fly out of ned's hands. peter caught the web shooter with ease, turning around to look at the man.

stevie quickly stepped on the shock glove while peter shot some webs at the man, sticking him to the school bus that was behind him. both spiderlings high-fived one another as they turned and walked over towards their friends. donnie had stepped forward, seeing how stevie was holding her side.

"guys, the guy with the wings is liz's dad." peter informed the boys.

"what?" ned and donnie asked in unison.

"i know. we gotta tell mr.stark." peter nodded. "call happy hogan. he's mr.sstark's head security. and, uh, get a computer and track my phone for me."

"are you gonna be okay?" ned questioned.

"can you even swing, stevie?" donnie asked, looking at his best friend with worried eyes.

"i've been through worse." stevie shrugged as she backed away. "uh, if you guys wanna do this somewhere else that isn't the school, my mom's car keys are in my locker. donnie knows my combo."

"hurry, we gotta catch him before he leaves him." peter shouted as he jumped up onto the lamppost. he then jumped off, shooting out a web.

"i'll see you guys later, okay? and donnie, do not crash my mom's car!" she told the two boys, shooting out a web so that she could follow peter.

she caught up to the parker boy quickly, wondering how the hell they were gonna get there. but when peter let go of his web and landed right on the hood of flash thompson's convertible car. she rolled her eyes, landing on the side of the nice looking car, crossing her arms over her chest.

"flash, we need your car and your phone." peter ordered, speaking in a deep voice.

"sir, m - ma'am, tech - technically, this is my dad's car, sir, ma'am, so i can't -" flash stuttered, looking between the two web heads.

stevie rolled her eyes again, shaking her head slightly. she opened her mouth, speaking in a slightly deeper tone. "you don't have to give us your phone, but we need the car." flash stuttered over his words, unsure of what he should say. "we don't have time for this." stevie mumbled, walking around to the driver's side. she then unlocked his door before opening the door. "flash, get out before i drag you out."

"yes, ma'am." flash nodded, unbuckling his seatbelt before he stepped out of the car.

"you too, blondie." stevie demanded, jutting her head to flash's date as she sat in the driver's seat.

the blonde girl did as told, making spider-man jump over the windshield and into the passenger seat. both vigilantes slammed the doors shut before stevie made a u-turn and sped off out the school parking lot. stevie buckled up her seatbelt, telling peter to do the same. he did as told with a roll of his eyes.

"oh, my god. i love this car." stevie mumbled as she stepped on the gas, the car going faster.

daij speaks!
yoooooooo! i know that was a horrible place to stop, but i'm over my word limit and if ego any further it will bother the hell out of me. anyway, we love stevie in her remnant suit. if you guys don't remember how it looks, it's pretty similar to andrew garfield's suit in tasm. but instead of red and blue, it's burgundy and gray. i am a slut for every gray shade, so :).

i hope u guys enjoyed
