ππππππ ππππ π ππ πππ πππππ ππππ the makeshift pocket that was in her suit as she swung. the both of them continued to swing through the air, shooting web after web before they came to a house. peter slid down the roof of the house and landed on the ground while stevie let go of her web, doing a back flip before she landed on the ground next to peter in a crouched position. stevie noticed that there were no more things to attached their webs onto. she quickly turned to peter, watching him shoot his hand out, a web spouting out and falling onto the grass field that was ahead of them.
"oh, look. it's a gold course." stevie mumbled, standing up.
with that, the two vigilantes started to run through the course. stevie was a little further ahead than peter, the carpenter girl being a lot more agile than peter. the two teens had noticed that, thinking that it might have something to do with the spider that bit her.
"this sucks." peter commented, quickly dodging some water that had just spouted from the sprinklers that popped out of the ground.
"no shit." stevie shot back.
the both of them continued to run, somehow ending on a bridge. they crawled down the side of it, seeing a group of men standing under the bridge. there was a white van, which obviously makes this whole thing a lot more sketchier. stevie and peter shared a look before they looked back to the scene, listening in. stevie was looking into the van, seeing that there were a bunch of weapons that did not look familiar.
"oh, this must be where the atm robbers got their stuff." peter whispered, earning a nod from the girl next to him.
"i just need something to stick up somebody." one of the guys admitted, a bored look on his face. "i'm not trying to shoot them back in time."
spider-man and remnant continued to listen in on the three men talk, the guy who needed to buy a weapon walking over to the white van. stevie's eyes widened when the sound of yodeling filled the air, her head immediately snapping over to where peter was. the spiderling quickly reached for his phone, pulling it out of his suit and looking at who was calling him. it was ned.
"dude! turn it off!" stevie hissed, looking at the boy like he was crazy.
"hey! did you set us up!?" the bald guy asked, pulling a gun out on the guy that was trying to buy.
peter quickly denied ned's call, stuffing his phone back into his suit before he dropped down. "hey! come on. you gonna shoot at somebody, shoot at me."
stevie let out a little groan before she dropped down besides peter, once again landed in a crouched position. "shoot at us, he means." she quickly corrected.
"all right." the bald guy mumbled, quickly aiming the gun at the two vigilantes.
peter quickly shot a web at the gun before he pulled it out of the guy's hands. stevie then frantically pressed the button to her web shooters, making multiple balls of web fly out and hit the guy in his face, making him fall to the ground. spider-man ran over to the guy that was at the van, getting ready to attack. but before he could, the guy turned around and punched the boy with one of the high tech weapons. remnant quickly jumped behind peter, trying to slow him down. the both of them rolled onto the ground, peter letting out a groan.
"what was that?" peter asked, recovering from the punch.
stevie looked up, seeing the van and a car pulling off. she quickly shot a web out, it attaching to the van. she quickly pulled at it, making her lunge forward. she maneuvered her body in a weird way so that she would land on the roof of the van, quickly letting the web go. she looked back to see that peter was being dragged, holding onto a web that was attached to one of the van doors. she winced when she saw peter hit a recycle bin, the van making a sharp left.
she turned back around, stopping once she was right over the driver's seat. all of her senses basically screamed at her, telling her to move to the right. she did so, just missing a bullet that the bald guy had shot at her. time seemed to slow down a bit as her eyes landed on the golden bullet, eyebrows raised.
"where the hell did you get another gun from?" she asked the guy, crawling onto the side of the van before she knocked on the window. "mr.criminal?"
the bald guy looked at her, eyebrows knitted in annoyance as he rolled the window down, glaring at the vigilante.
"hi, i'm remnant." stevie introduced, sticking her hand out. "you can call me fantastic, web-woman. . . just don't call me late for dinner."
the bald guy looked at her before he tried to punch her, the girl quickly dodging it and jumping back onto the roof of the van. she quickly went over to the other side, grabbing ahold of the passenger door before she ripped it off with ease. she heard the bald guy growl at that but ignored it, quickly climbing into the passenger seat.
"you didn't need that door, did you?" she asked sarcastically, sticking her head out the the van to see the door sliding against the pavement, almost hitting peter. "because if you did, it's - it's gone now." she finished, going back into the van.
just as she did that, the bald guy tried to punch her again, but she quickly dodged it. she then reacted quickly, her left fist lunging out and hitting the guy in his face. the guy then tried to reach for his gun, but stevie quickly webbed his hand to his door, a little laugh escaping her mouth.
"you just got yourself into a lot of trouble, kid." the guy told her.
"because i webbed your hand to the door, or. . .?" stevie started, tilting her head as her voice trailed off.
"uh, remnant!" the high voice of peter parker called out.
she stuck her head back out the van, her eyes landing on peter, who was still being dragged behind the van. she saw a blast come out from behind the van, just missing peter.
"did you just do it again?" the bald guy asked his partner, finally getting his hand free of remnant's webbing.
"shut up." the guy with the weapon yelled back.
"i'm calling him." the bald guy informed, grabbing his phone.
"oh, you're calling more friends. that's good." stevie mumbled sarcastically.
"remnant!" peter yelled again.
"i'm coming, spidey." stevie shouted back, quickly climbing on the side of the van to get to the roof.
just as she did that, the van drove over a speed bump, making her loose her balance for a second. she quickly recovers from that, but quickly jumped back at a pink burst of energy blasted through the roof. remnant mentally cursed before she thanked the heavens above for giving her heightened senses. she quickly went into a crouched position, seeing peter still holding onto his web for dear life. she shot out her own web at the boy, going to pull him onto the roof. but before she could pull him up, the bald guy made a sharp right. this made peter hit a bunch of garbage and recycle bins before he hit a mailbox that was made out of bricks. because the boy came to a sudden halt, and stevie was still holding onto her web that was attached to him, she ended up flying off the van and onto the ground.
peter quickly shot up from the ground, shooting a web at one of the back doors, only for it to fall off the van. "great. guess we're gonna have to take a shortcut."
before stevie could say anything, peter was running into someone's yard, jumping over their gate and sliding over their car. stevie shook her head, shooting a web to connect onto a tree before she started to swing. the trees weren't tall enough to get the full swinging experience, but it was better than running through people's backyards, scaring kids, and breaking their property. which is exactly what peter was doing. stevie landed on a house just as peter did, the two doing a little fist bump before they continued to jump from roof to roof, seeing the van come into sight.
"thought you got away from, didn't ya?" peter silently asked, making stevie look at him weirdly.
"you okay there, pete?" she asked.
"yeah, i'm fine." peter nodded, stevie hearing how out of breath he was.
the both of them focused back onto the van, turning a corner. stevie smiled, realizing that they were right above the two criminals. the two vigilantes jumped off the roof of a house so that they could land on the van. but what they didn't expect to happen was for something to attach to them before it flew them upwards. stevie was being held by one of her arms while peter was being held by one his legs, the boy being upside down.
"what the hell?" peter mumbled, looking up at stevie before he looked at what had grabbed them.
the carpenter girl did the same, seeing a man with mechanical wings and a mask covering his face. stevie felt goosebumps dot at her body, looking straight into the green glowing eyes of the mask. peter watched as stevie disappeared, his eyes widening when she had fully vanished. she looked down at the ground, that was really. . . really far down, trying to see if she had dropped from the man's talons. but he didn't so he looked back to where she used to be. he quickly felt someone kick him in the face, a grunt leaving his mouth.
"i'm so sorry!" stevie quickly apologized.
"where the hell are you?!" peter questioned.
"what? i'm right here!" stevie yelled.
"no you're not!"
stevie furrowed her eyebrows, wondering what the hell peter was talking about. she was being flown into the sky just like he was. she looked down at her body, but saw nothing. it was like she had turned invisible. before she could react, a beeping filled the air, making stevie look down at peter. the parker boy quickly reached his hands out, trying to see if he could grab onto stevie's leg. he was glad that he did, because before he made any moves, he was being pulled down, pulling stevie with him.
stevie blinked, realizing what was happening. her and peter was tangled up in some kind of cloth, not knowing where the hell it came from. but they were also plummeting towards the ground, which meant if they didn't get out of this huge cloth fast, they were going to die. stevie slowly started to reappear, peter's eyes widening once again. the curly haired girl felt the air leave her lungs as the both of them spun around in the air, making her extremely dizzy. she clasped onto peter's shoulder, needing something to ground her but nothing was wrong.
"oh, god. oh, god. oh, god." she mumbled, screwing her eyes shut.
her eyes started to roll to the back of her head as she started to lose consciousness. peter held the girl close to him, feeling her body go limp in his arms. before he could do anything to try and wake her up, their bodies hit a surface with a loud smack. peter quickly realized that they had landed in a body of water, which gave him some kind of relief. but that relief was quickly replaced with panic when he realized that he couldn't get out of the parachute that was surrounding them. the two teens started to sink, peter taking in a deep breath as he tried his best to get out. after a few seconds, he started to lose consciousness himself, his grip on stevie loosening as they went deeper and deeper.

ππππππ ππππππ πππππ, πππ ππππ from the sudden pull back into reality. she sat up, river water shooting out of her mouth and onto the ground. she felt someone patting her back, making her look up to see that it was peter. she grabbed ahold of his arm, a small smile appearing on her lips before more water started to exit her lungs. her body ached all around, making her want to crawl into a ball and go back to sleep. it felt like she got hit by a 16 wheeler, her grip tightening on peter, making her knuckles turn white. she realized that her mask was off and her hand was clinging to the back of her neck and face. that then made her realize that her whole suit was soaking wet.
"oh, i thought i lost you." peter let out, still patting stevie's back as she threw up. "i was gonna hate myself if i did."
"it takes a lot more than that to lose me, pete." stevie mumbled, bringing a hand up to wipe her mouth. "did we land in a pool or something?" she asked, looking around to see that they were in some type of playground.
"it was actually a river, but, uh. . ." peter quickly corrected, getting up from the ground.
"i feel like shit." stevie groaned, slowly following the parker boy over to the jungle gym.
"it'll go away when you take a hot bath." a familiar voice appeared, making stevie freeze in her spot.
the girl slowly turned around, seeing the familiar gold and red metal suit of iron man hovering a few feet away from her and peter. she slowly hit peter's leg, the boy now sitting on the jungle gym. he chuckled lightly as he watched stevie react to one of the heroes she looked up to being right in front of her. the girl then started to stumble over her words, catching peter by surprise. the only person who had ever made her speechless was michelle jones.
"breathe, stevie." peter mumbled, making the girl look up at him.
"right, s - sorry. it's just that. . ." she said, gesturing to the iron man suit in front of her.
peter let out another chuckle, patting the spot besides him on the jungle gym. the girl slowly climbed up, feeling every muscle in her body scream at her. she knew that she would be achey and sore for a few days, but it would go away a lot faster than a regular civilians.
"how'd you find us? did you put a tracker in my suit or something?" peter quizzed, looking back up to tony stark.
"i put everything in your suit." tony admitted. "including this heater."
stevie looked at peter once she heard the boy groan, seeing steam shoot out of his suit. stevie suddenly felt ten times colder, watching peter's muscles relax as heat filled his body. he quickly wrapped his arm around the girl next to him, knowing that she was just as cold as he was. she mumbled a small thanks to him, to which he nodded in return.
"that's better. thanks." he told tony, his hand rubbing stevie's arm.
"what were you two thinking?" tony questioned, making stevie come to the conclusion that peter told him everything that just happened.
"the guy with the wings is obviously the source of all the weapons. we gotta take him down." peter quickly reasoned.
"take him down now, huh?" tony repeated, stevie wincing when she heard the slight frustration in his voice. "steady, crockett. there are people who handle this sort of thing."
"the avengers?" peter asked.
"no, no, no. this is a little below their pay grade." tony answered.
"mr.stark, you didn't have to come out here. i - we had this. we were fine." peter told him, making stevie look at him like he was crazy.
"did we? because i just woke up and threw up water." she pointed out, making tony point at her with his suit.
"i agree with your girlfriend." tony quickly said, making stevie and peter look at him with wide eyes.
"not his girlfriend." the carpenter girl quickly said.
"and, i'm not here." tony continued, his mask popping open to reveal the empty space inside. "thank god this place has wi-fi, or the both of you would be toast right now. thank ganesh while you're at it."
"ganesh?" stevie repeated, slightly confused.
"look, forget the flying vulture guy, please."
"why?" peter asked.
"why? because i said so!" tony yelled, stevie flinching at the sudden change of tone. "sorry. i'm talking to teenagers. stay close to the ground. build up your game helping the little people. like that lady that bought you the churro. can't you just be a friendly neighborhood spider-man? and - and remnant?"
"but i'm ready for more than that now." peter tried, looking down at stevie. "and - and so is she!"
the mask to tony's suit closed. "no."
"uh, tony stark, sir?" stevie spoke up, squinting slightly when her head started to pound. "big fan. but with all due respect, you don't even know me."
"trust me when i say, i do. but that doesn't matter. the both of you are way over your heads." tony said, making stevie furrow her eyebrows.
"wait -" she started, wanting to know what he meant in the first part.
"that is not what you thought when i took on captain america." the parker boy pointed out, getting frustrated.
"trust me, kid. if cap wanted to lay you out, he would've." tony told him, making peter deflate a little. "listen to me. if you come across these weapons again, call happy. the both of you."
"i - i don't have happy's number." stevie mumbled, her eyebrows furrowed.
"well. . ." tony muttered before an engine filled the air.
"are you driving?" peter questioned.
"you know, it's never too early to start thinking about college. i got some pull at mit. end call." tony said.
"no, i don't need to go to -" peter started.
"mr.stark is no longer connected." a female robotic voice interrupted. then, the suit turned around and blasts off, the two teens watching it disappear in the night sky.
"well, that was fun." stevie mumbled.
"come on, stevie." peter muttered, sliding off the jungle gym and landing on his feet.
the girl followed pursuit, instantly regretting it when she felt a wave of pain shoot through her body. how why the hell was she in so much pain and peter was just fine? did she hit the water a certain way? or did it have something to do with the fact that she had turned invisible when they were in the sky because of the bird man?
"you fought captain america?" stevie asked, feeling peter grab one of her arms and wrap it around her shoulder.
"yeah." he nodded, handing the girl her mask before he pulled his own over his face. "remember when i went to germany for the 'stark internship'? there was this whole thing with the avengers, they were fighting each other. and cap and i had, like, this 1 on 1 battle."
"that's so cool." stevie breathed out, pulling her own mask over her face.
"yeah. there was this guy that can make himself really small or really big. and - and a guy with a metal arm. it was really cool, you would've liked it." peter explained.
"wow." stevie breathed out.
"since when could you turn invisible?" peter then asked.
"i - i don't know. that's new." stevie answered, shrugging her shoulders. "i guess it happened because i was scared?"
"you should get that under control. it'll be cool when you're fighting someone and then you just. . . disappear." peter mumbled.
"yeah, i should." stevie mumbled.
the two teens continued to walk the empty streets of queens. stevie couldn't wait to get some, shower, and then go to sleep. she heard peter talking to himself besides her but didn't think anything about it, knowing that the parker boy was angry about everything that just happened with tony stark. stevie then thought about their clothes and book bag, wondering if donnie ever got them. she then thought about mj and how she had just left. she knows that she told donnie to tell her she was sick, but she couldn't help but feel bad.
"stevie, look!" peter exclaimed, making the girl snap back into reality.
she followed his gaze, trying to see what he was looking at. and when she saw it, her head tilted slightly, wondering what it was in the first place. it was some kind of power source, a chuck of metal and wires being connected to it. peter gently let go of stevie, leaving the girl in the street before he walked over to the object. he crouched down to get a better look, turning it over. stevie then jumped when the sound of yodeling echoed through the air, the girl looking at peter since she knew that it was his ringtone for ned.
"hey, man, what's up? we're on our way back." he said into his phone once he answered it, putting it on speaker.
stevie pulled her own phone out, wondering if she had gotten any messages from her mother or donnie. she then started to panic slightly, remembering that they had plummeted into a body of water. she pressed the power button, a sigh of relief escaping her lips when her screen lit up. she saw that there was some messages from donnie, a small smile appearing on her lips.
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE π’π
got your clothes. i will be stealing peter's shirt.
oh, i told michelle that you had to go home.
(11:00pm)
this party sucks ass. flash is a horrible fucking dj. i have a fucking headache.
(11:30 pm)
yeah, whenever you guys are done. . . don't come back to the party.
(11:59 pm)
stevie tilted her head at that, wondering why he would say that. she focused back onto peter and ned's conversation.
"when i say 'penis', you say 'parker'." flash's voice said through the speaker. "penis!"
"parker!" the crowd yelled.
"penis!"
"parker!"
"sorry, peter. i guess we're still losers. i'll see you tomorrow." ned said, stevie hearing how sad he sounded.
"i'll see you tomorrow in school." peter repeated before he hung up.
peter put his phone back into his suit, quickly grabbing the power source that had his attention earlier. he looked over to stevie, the carpenter girl shrugging her shoulders. she couldn't see his face, but she definitely knew what the boy was thinking. he stood up from his crouched position and walked over to stevie, putting her arm around his shoulder before he put his own around her waist. the both of them started to walk again, the journey to their apartment building being completely silent.
