Chapter 6
𝟔 | 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥

Victoria threw me into our dorm room with force, causing me to stumble and fall to the ground. As I laid there, taking in the surroundings, the size of the room quickly became apparent. The ceiling high above seemed vast, and Victoria's bed - large and swathed in a combination of black and scarlet shades - commanded a prominent position in one corner.

While Victoria's bed was grand and elegant, adorned with luxurious red and black linens, the bed assigned to me was considerably more modest in comparison. Though it was a plain and simple design, lacking the extravagance of hers, it served its purpose and was a suitable place for me to rest and sleep.

As I lay on the floor in exhaustion, I watched as Victoria firmly held onto the door handle, preparing to leave the room. Despite the fact that I still felt weak and vulnerable, I managed to muster up some strength to call out to her, "Wait!— where are you going?"

Victoria paused at the door, her hand still gripping the handle tightly. With a hint of irritation in her voice, "To spread the message of Aro Lucien."

"Message? What message."

Victoria hissed through her teeth, "Did you not hear anything while you was in there!?" Her voice raised.

"The message is to not kill you— which is really tempting for me right now Because all I can think about is how good your blood would taste on my tongue." She glared

Thank you?

As I listened to Victoria's words, a subtle lump seemed to form in my throat - a feeling I hadn't been fully aware of until that moment. Softly, I replied, "Alright." Without another word, she rolled her eyes in a dismissive manner, closing the door firmly behind her as she left me alone in the dorm room.

Now i need to escape.

As I continued to survey my surroundings, my gaze fell upon a large window set high up on one of the walls. However, as I looked closer, I realized the window was located near the very top of the room, much higher up than I could reach. Muttering under my breath, I voiced my frustration, "How on earth am I supposed to reach that?"

And why was the window so high up?

There was no way I could reach that so I had to go with Plan B, Which was leaving the room.

Honestly Might be the stupidest Plan B ever.

But I rather run away than sit here looking stupid.

I cautiously opened the door to the room, peering out into the silent, pitch-black hallways that lay in both directions. Illuminating the area were tall wax candles, their flickering flames casting shadows on the walls. In either direction, I could see that the hallway was lined with multiple doors, each set in the wall as they stretched down the length of the corridor.

With a quiet determination, I stepped out into the hallway, being careful to move stealthily. I was well aware that the vampires had heightened senses, able to hear and smell me from a distance. So, I tiptoed as best as I could, trying to minimize any noise that could give away my presence.

I continued down the right hallway, treading softly on the hard floor beneath me. In the distance, I could see a sign pointing towards the staircases, indicating that they led down below. I kept moving quietly, my heart beating faster with each step, hoping that I wouldn't be discovered.

As I passed by a certain room, I couldn't help but notice the music and lights emanating from within. A sign above the entrance read "Lounge Room," and despite the temptation to glance inside, I quickly reminded myself of my goal to escape. Taking a deep breath, I mentally steeled myself and continued onward.

My eyes widened in surprise as the door suddenly swung open, revealing A male and female vampire in the middle of the hallway, having an aggressive kiss session.

I held my breath, not trying to breathe as I continued tip-toeing down the hallway.

"Babe wait— do you smell that." The male vampire said.

I hastily abandoned any attempts at stealth and broke into a run. Unfortunately, I hadn't anticipated the potency of my blood's scent. Almost instantly, the vampires in the lounge room detected the aroma in the air and looked up in my direction.

"I smell it this way!" one vampire said to the others in the room.

As I continued to make a run for it, my escape attempt was abruptly stopped as a strong hand seized me and yanked me into a nearby closet. Before I could utter a single word, a commanding voice hissed, "Shh." A firm hand clamped over my mouth, effectively silencing me immediately.

Minutes went by and he finally unhanded himself from me.

It was Rico who had pulled me into the closet, the same person who had attacked me outside and pinned me to a tree. Recognizing him, I spoke with a tinge of annoyance in my voice, "Oh, it's you."

He squinted his eyes at me. "You know...I want you dead so bad, but for some reason, Aro wants you alive." he randomly ponders

"And this is literally the first he ever done this, he always kills but for some reason he's letting you stay."

"Because I offered my blood." I said, not sounding proud to say.

"Hmm."

"Forget that— I thought Victoria Told them to not hurt me?"

"Obviously she didn't," he replied

"Durr durr dur." I slapped my hand on my forehead sarcastically at the boy.

Before the conversation could continue, a group of vampires quickly closed in on us in the hallway, forming a tight circle around us. Thankfully, the passage was wide enough that the enclosed space didn't feel overly cramped.

Victoria pushed her way through the throng of vampires, her expression filled with frustration. She locked eyes with me, her voice dripping with irritation, "Are you stupid?" she asked

"Are you stupid or stupid to think that I was actually going to go stay in there?" I retorted back

Victoria grunted, it was clear and visible on her face that she wanted to hurt me.

Rico stood firmly in front of the ravenous and furious vampires, addressing Victoria specifically. He questioned her, his tone both demanding and firm, asking, "What happened? Didn't you tell them?"

"Sorry, was too busy partying," Victoria said mugging me.

"Why are y'all fucking protecting her, she's a human which means food!" a male shouted in the crowd.

"I totally agree," Rico said

I stared at the boy in disbelief, "seriously?"

"Aro doesn't want us to kill or hurt her at all," Rico said to the crowd.

Before I could react, one of the male vampires moved at lightning speed, materializing right in front of me. He coiled his hand around my neck, his grip tight and unrelenting. "I don't believe that," he stated before sinking his fangs deep into my flesh

In a sudden movement, Rico shoved the other vampire off of me, sending him flying across the hallway before he slammed hard against the opposite wall. The other vampires became increasingly agitated, baring their fangs and ready to attack. Victoria stood defiantly, hissing at them and displaying her own set of sharp fangs as a warning.

The scene transformed in an instant as the vampires abruptly halted their aggressive behavior, falling to their knees and lowering their heads in submission. The rhythmic sound of approaching footsteps grew louder, the clicking of shoes echoing down the hallway.

Aro appeared at the end of the hallway, his presence eliciting an immediate reaction from the vampires gathered there. Aro stared at The vampire who had been forcefully shoved by Rico.

"Stand." He demanded

The vampire was quick to comply, hastily standing up and assuming a respectful position.

In a blur of motion, Aro's hand moved impossibly fast, and in a split second, he plunged it into the body of the vampire. In a brutal and gruesome display, he ripped out the vampire's heart, grotesquely twisting and turning the organ before letting it drop on the ground.

"I hope he believes it now," Aro said walking towards the rest.

He sighed, "Now, does anyone else have a problem with her staying here?" he glared around the room waiting for a answer.

Everyone stood there silently.

"Very well,"

"But for you," he choked Victoria in the air.

"You Should've of told them when I asked you to." he tilted his head at the girl.

"I'm sorry." she croaked through his tight grasp.

My eyes flicked over to Rico, taking notice of the anger etched in his expression. His fists were tightly clenched at his sides, a physical manifestation of his frustration and restraint. It was clear that he wanted nothing more than to intervene and protect his girlfriend from the unfolding scene But he was scared to do so.

"I tried to escape." I said out loud

Aro's smirk widened as he slowly released his hold on Victoria, setting her down gently before turning his focus towards me. He nonchalantly moved closer, closing the distance between us until his face was mere inches away from mine.

"You did what?" He stroked his finger down my face.

"You heard me." I whispered back

Victoria palms her forehead.

Aro's hand reached out and gently brushed my face, his touch lingering as he posed a question, "Are you challenging me?" His tone held a hint of curiosity, as if he was gauging my response to his gesture of domination.

I gulped, not knowing what else to say.

Aro's intense gaze continued to hold mine as the voice of another vampire from the gathered throng piped up, "Can we go back to partying, sir?" In a swift motion, Aro extracted the vampire's heart from his grasp, his attention still firmly fixed on me.

Aro leaned close, his voice eerily soft and threatening as he whispered into my ear, "You should be careful about what you say Kaia. You wouldn't want me to break my promise about not hurting you, would you?" His words carried an undeniable undertone of menace, a reminder of the power he held and the consequences I might face if I displeased him.

Aro's twists and crushes the vampire heart in a brutal display. Yet, rather than tearing it completely apart, he withdrew his hands, leaving the vampire alive but undoubtedly in a great deal of pain.

Aro carefully took his handkerchief from his pocket and gently dabbed at my neck, wiping away the remnants of blood left from the vampire's bite.

"Don't try to escape again, you made a deal to let me feed,"

"It's Your words, not mine," he says as he moves away from my ear.

...

"Get her cleaned up Victoria, make sure she has some clothes for bed and food to eat."

"Yes.. Sir."
