"What is the demon class?" I asked desperately, really wanted to know.
"I can't speak, they will hear," she whispered
Vicky was scaring me, I wasn't sure if she was joking or not. Who will kill her? Who will hear?? But everything adds up to what the taxi driver was saying, The taxi man was startled when he dropped me off. And now I'm curious.
Vicky took a blank paper off the drawer and began writing with a black Sharpie.
The demon class, don't you get it? We're the living class and they're the demon class. Vicky pointed at the window
I looked out the window and saw the other school where Vicky was pointing at.
The school that had no color whatsoever, it was right across from ours, not too far but not too close.
I turned around to see Vicky writing some more.
Demon class- Vampires
Living Class (us) Humans
I looked at the paper and had to think for a moment.
I began to crack up, "vampires?—they're not even real."
"shut up," she whispered
"Look at your rules," Vicky handed me the paper
I read the rules again.
1. Don't come out of your room at night
2. No interrupting other students' sleep
3. Don't go outside past 5 Pm
4. Any cuts or wounds need to be healed quickly
5. No fighting
6. Don't go to the demon class
7. FOLLOW THE RULES
"This seems a little too much," I told her
"What time is it?" Vicky asked me
I looked at my watch on my wrist, the time showed 6:00 PM
"6."
"We should be sleeping, now." I watched Vicky climb into the bottom bunk.
"This doesn't make any sense, how are they real? and why the hell are they so close to us?."
"I'll tell you everything tomorrow, goodnight. And please go to sleep and don't do anything stupid," she said
I listened to her and got into the top bunk, I didn't take any of this serious, but somehow Vicky did.
"Goodnight," I said

-NEXT DAY-
"Why did you leave me, Kaia You're supposed to be my sister."
"You left me and mom on our own,"
"Answer my question! Why!?"
"Kaia! Answer me!"
"I didn't have a choice, please forgive me," I replied
"I hate you, Kaia,"
"You knew mom was a single mother and she's struggling!"
I suddenly woke up from a familiar voice calling my name.
"Kaia!" Vicky shouted
"I'm up," I yelled
"Put your uniform on, we have class."
"Okay."
"Who is Kala?" Vicky asked
I raised my eyebrow at the girl, confused about why she said my little sister's name randomly.
"Sorry, You were just sleep talking, you were kind of yelling like you were having a nightmare."
"Oh, She's just my little sister.." I said before walking into the bathroom.

I sat next to Vicky in class. "Hello, you must be new? What is your name ma'am." the teacher asked
"I'm Kaia Solei."
"Welcome Solei, here is your journal where you can take notes during the teaching process." she handed me the white and black notebook.
"Thank you." I took out my mechanical pencil and began jotting it down.
"Do you like this so far?" Vicky intruded on my writing process
"It's okay, it's pretty much like regular school but instead you sleep here." I chuckled
"What is to like here?" A brunette-haired boy spoke
The boy was brown like me, his hair was buzzed down and he was average height, he had headphones on his neck.
"James don't start," Vicky said
"Please start." I insisted the boy
"This school is just fucking weird, I've been going here for a year now. I had no choice but to come here," he added
"I had to come here too."
"Damn that sucks, I'm James Anderson by the way."
"I'm Kaia."
Me and James shook hands, "So, When did you arrive?" he asked
"Yesterday morning."
he shook his head disappointedly at my response, "Poor girl, you don't know what you got yourself into." he said
"Come on Kaia, we have to write this essay down or we'll fail." Vicky barged in the conversation
✽ ✽ ✽
Vicky was done with her essay, I watched her take her paper up to the teacher's desk. I was almost done with mine and James was still writing.
"Psst," I whispered
"Yes?"
"What do you mean this school is weird?"
"Do you believe in Vampires?"
Vicky told me yesterday that RedCrest is filled with blood-sucking creatures on the other side of the school and now James is asking me if I believe in them.
"Are they really real?"
"Are you fucking serious?, they are right across from us."
"They are real Kaia," he stated once again.
"Why would they put a vampire school, near us?"
"I don't know but I heard that the vampires were here first, they just needed another boarding school in Washington, and they put it here."
"Now it explains the animal's attacks happening here." I said
"Yes exactly, those are fucking cover-ups," he said
"Do you know some of the students over there?"
"No! Were not even allow to go over there, I don't know anyone there and I'm so glad that I don't anyways." he said
I stopped asking questions once Vicky came back to her seat, she was staring at me and James confusingly.
"Why are you guys being weird?" she chuckled softly

-REDCREST ACADEMY-
[ 5:40 PM)
Once we had returned to our dorm room, Vicky and I placed our belongings down. Vicky climbed onto the stairs leading up to the top bunk, making her way up to my designated sleeping area.
"I'm exhausted." she yawned
I turned to the window and looked out onto the colorless school that lay across from the living class. Despite being new to it all, a sense of wonder lingered in my mind, prompting me to ponder the unfamiliar surroundings.
"Kaia you should move away from the window, it's not safe," Vicky said
"This still doesn't make sense," I said
"I understand you, it also didn't make any sense to me at all."
"But it's almost 6, we should go to sleep now."
Vicky seemed particularly anxious about staying up later than 6, her fear rooted in the rules stated on the piece of paper we had been given. The guidelines specifically mentioned not to remain awake or be out of our room after 6 PM, and Vicky took these instructions seriously.
But then again, The knowledge that vampires really existed had been consuming my thoughts.
I fixated my gaze on the school, focused on a specific window that somehow caught my eye. It was a different type of window from the rest.
I continued to focus on the one window, my gaze fixed on the dark figure that stood there, sending a chill through me. Suddenly, Vicky came over and grasped my hand, her touch drawing my attention away from the window.
"I mean it Kaia, we need to go to sleep,"
The blaring sound of the alarm pierced the air, startling both Vicky and me. Its sharp tone signaled the instruction to go to sleep.
"Hurry, turn it off," she urged, her voice tinged with urgency.
I turned the alarm off and stared a Vicky who was terrified.
"Sleep now." she demands
