"Kaia wake up!" I heard my mother yelled from down the steps
I was still in my bed with my pajamas on, I didn't feel like getting up. I knew I was going to miss this queen-size comfy bed.

"Eat something before you leave," she said
"I'm not hungry."
I waited outside on my porch with my big suitcase, for the taxi.
*beep*
The taxi car honked at me as I was drifting asleep on the porch, I hurried and got up from where I was sitting and threw my suitcase in the trunk.
I turned around to see my mother and my four year old sister at the door staring, tears were flowing out of Kala eyes immediately. I couldn't just stand there and look at her in her emotional state so I ran over there to give her one last hug, until next time.
"When will you be baaack?" Kala's baby voice echoed in my ears.
I didn't have a response for her so I just stared at my mom waiting for her to answer for me.
My mother cleared her throat, "Soon Kala." She said
Kala threw a little tantrum and ran back inside the house. All you can hear her saying from the inside is "you lie!"
I gulped and went back to the taxi, finally sitting down.
I continued to stare at my mother who wasn't showing no sign that she would miss me, I waved in the car hoping she would see from the window.
Oh she seen it, she just never waved back.
"Where are you heading miss." The driver asked
I watched her enter the house with no care in her face, I honestly felt abandoned.
"Miss? Excuse me?" The driver said more louder this time.
"Yes?" I focused back
"Where is your destination." He asked again
"Oh um—Washington State, Red Crest Academy I believe."
"I'm not driving there." the man stopped and stared at me in the rear mirror
"Why not? I have to go there."
"Something weird is off over there,"
"my friend used to go there and told me bad things about it."
"Like—?"
He shook his head at the thought.
"Nevermind don't worry about it, I'll take you there." he switched up
The driver was getting tense up, he looked afraid as he drove on the highway, I wanted to ask him more about the school that I was going to but I didn't want to frighten him.
I asked anyway.
"What else did your friend say about the school?"
The Man Looked at me in the mirror again but this time it was a creepy stare.
"Stop fucking asking please, I told you never mind now shut up, be happy I'm driving you."
Shut up??... Be happy that I'm paying you.

WASHINGTON STATE
- RED CREST ACADEMY-
The man parked the car in front of the school, The school steps were big as as the school. It was white and fancy.
I got out of the taxi and stood there examining the school, I turned around and noticed the man hadn't driven off yet he was already staring at the school grounds.
"Is something wrong sir?" I asked him as he looked scared
The man didn't respond to me, although I noticed his head turn the opposite away from Redcrest High to another school that was right across from it.
it had fewer colors, and looked dead. I saw some teens outside staring right at me and him
"Whatever you do, don't go other there," he stated before driving off
"Wait—
I was so confused, I had my suitcase in my hand. I pulled it up the staircase and entered the school, there were plenty of other teens in comfy clothes and uniforms walking around. I hurried and scrolled through the front desk to register.
The front desk was an elderly lady with glasses on. "Name?" she asked
"Kaia."
"Full name please," she said aggressively
Jeez.
"Kaia Solei."
"Oh, you must be Klai's daughter who called yesterday."
"Yep.." I said distressed still mad at the fact that she sent me away.
"You're here for consistently putting your hands on people," she added
"I was defending myself from racist immature girls." I corrected her sentence
"Oh, I'm sorry but I promise you that Redcrest Academy doesn't allow that from any students, they will kicked out when reported."
"I heard that before." I chuckled to myself
"I mean it, and you're not the only person of color here." she gave me a warm smile
"Anyway, here is your room number and key," she handed to me
I took the keys and the room number and began to walk off.
"Wait." The lady said
I stopped and looked at the lady who was pulling up her glasses to her face. "Yes?" I questioned
"Here are the rules here in RedCrest." She handed me a paper with a list of things I shouldn't do.
The paper:
1. Don't come out of your room at night
2. No interrupting other students' sleep
3. Don't go outside past 5 Pm
4. Any cuts, or wounds need to be healed quickly
5. No fighting
6. Don't go to the demon class
7. FOLLOW THE RULES
"I'm sorry but what is a demon class." I asked
"Don't worry about it if you don't know, anyways have a good first day here and please follow the rules." she gave a big smile
This school and people are getting weirder by the minute and I haven't even stayed here for a week yet.
I took my things and went on the elevator to room 555.
I finally found the room on my own and unlocked the dorm with my key.
The room was clean and organized, there was a big bunkbed, and the first thing I did was to plop on the bottom one.
A brunette-haired girl came out of the bathroom with her towel on, I closed my eyes and turned away.
"Who are you?" she asked
"Who are you?" I questioned back at her
She ignored my response and went back to the bathroom. After minutes went by she came out fully clothed.
"I'm Vicky," she exclaimed
"And you are?"
I'm Kaia.
Kaia Solei, I'm new."
Vicky walked up to me with a smile on her face. She grasped my hand gently and shook it.
"Hello?" I said smiling back
"Well Kaia Solei, welcome to Red Crest Academy," she said in a fake British accent.
"Thank you," I smiled awkwardly
I took my suitcase to the closet of the room and started to unpack my items. "So Kaia, what do you like to do for fun?" she asked
"Uhm, I like to be on my phone, but it sucks that they took it."
"Yeah that's the policy for RedCrest, they take all electronics."
"So jail basically?" I teased
Vicky laughed as she made up her bed. "I mean, it's fun I've been here for 6 months now, and I like staying here, we get nice food, hot water, a bed to sleep on, and education of course." she blabbered on
"I miss my school though, so sad that I was forced to leave," I said
"Forced to Leave? For what?"
"I got into an altercation with these racist girls, and I got in trouble."
"Kaia I'm so sorry, that's crazy."
"Yeah— I pushed a girl down the steps."
Vicky stared and took a step back from me.
"Oh come on, I'm not going to push you." I laughed
"Just being careful." Vicky chuckled back
"Anyways, My mother died when I was 10, so 8 years ago basically."
"I'm sorry for your lost but how did she die if you don't mind me asking."
"An Animal attack." She sighed
"I heard about the animal attacks.. So is there like bears or wolves around here or something?" I questioned
Vicky laughed, "Yeah right—bears."
she shook her head in disbelief and chuckled. "I hate the lies on the articles." she stated
"The animal attack shit is bullshit, that's one thing you should know." she continues
"What do you mean? Are you saying that you don't believe that was the cause of your mother's death?" I questioned
"Of course not! They lied about it so others can believe it, don't you get it!? They're trying to keep their secret hidden." Vicky said somewhat angry
"Wait what—Who is?"
Vicky sighed as she walked around the room "I can't really speak on it, they'll kill me."
My eyes widened as I looked at Vicky, "Who will kill you?"
"The demon class."
