TRIGGER WARNING ;; MENTIONS OF BLOOD, INJURIES.

...

Of course, Jinx found [Name] first. It was quite obvious from how Jinx was filled on determination to find the [Eye Colour]-eyed Firelight. It wasn't too hard for the blue-haired girl to find the [Hair Colour]-haired beast from the trail of destruction they had left behind.

It seemed that there was a trail of blood left behind as well, causing the blue-haired girl to grow slightly concerned for what must've happened to [Name] on their rampaging exit.

She came to a stop from looking to see some droplets of blood dripping down onto her forehead, moving back and cleaned it off from her head within annoyance.

Diverting her way away from the little blood droplets, she started to climb up the ladder and glanced at a familiar silhouette, making her way slowly over to [Name]. For the fun of it, she banged a bullet out from her gun, the shot was in the air.

[Name] flinched from the sound, turning to see it was Jinx and a scowl formed upon their face, shifting their body back to just looking straight forward.

"Hey, Sweet Toots!" Jinx waved at them, grinning brightly and exaggeratedly marched her way towards them, sitting herself down beside them and sung her legs back 'n forth.

The beast flicked their gaze to the blue-haired girl, raising a brow and then, flinched away from feeling Jinx reach out to their bleeding wound. "Did you get that, when you went all out on that anger mode of yours?" The context on the question was quite serious, but Jinx brought out the question in some sort of joking mannerism to try and ease the tension.

[Name] merely nodded, clearing their throat and managed to utter out, "Yes, maybe-- from the crystals..." Grumbling incoherent words under their breath, they shift about and concealed a sigh.

Jinx patted her pockets, "I would give you something to help with the blood and all...But, I don't have much on me, so--" She trailed off on the last word, shrugging in response and a lop-sided grin formed onto her face, "Yeah. Also, I noticed that you are forcing your words out, you alright, Sweet Toots?"

[Name] traced a hand over their throat, glancing to see the visible veins on their hand and pulled it away. "My throat hurts to get out...--proper words."

Jinx tapped her chin in thought, striking her hand up in realisation and a bright grin appeared onto her face, like a child that had finally understood the answer in school. "Oh, I get it! It must be because the doctor was doing the science-stuff on you, with being a super-monster and all. He said that he couldn't keep your aggressiveness at bay--"

"I am not aggressive!" [Name] grunted in anger, only to receive a raised brow from Jinx in response, causing their shoulders to slump. "Okay, maybe: I am aggressive. But, I didn't-- mean to..."

Jinx then continued on, "So, the experiment must be making you evolve on the habits of a monster or something. With the aggressiveness, which is pretty cool because you practically demolished the place! But, I guess it's affecting your words, because...I don't know: must be like sucking the knowledge out of you, slowly turning you into an actual beast?"

The other could only scoff in disbelief, shifting about on where they were sitting. "That sound too far-fetched. Maybe, the experiment can only go-- as far, as this..." A small cough erupted from their throat, grasping at their chest to clear off the cough.

"Could be true though. I mean, next thing you know: you'll be growing fur and you won't be able to shave it off!" Jinx stretched her arms in exaggeration, a small laugh emitted from her lips in using that term against [Name] in a teasing manner, to which they protested in.

"I swear...--" [Name] was interrupted by another cough from themself, "--If it actually happens--"

"It won't happen." Another voice interrupted, causing the two to turn around to see a hooded shadow that seemed to be walking towards them. Jinx acted on instinct, grabbing her gun and started to shoot at the unsuspecting person.

The person merely managed to deflect the bullets away, running towards Jinx and used their weapon to sweep her off of her feet, as the blue-haired girl tumbled onto the floor, she reached for her gun again. But, the figure swung their weapon at her, knocking her away from the gun and the figure kicked the gun far away from the blue-haired girl.

The weapon was pointed threateningly at Jinx, blood seeping down from her forehead and nose.

"I want to help. So, don't try go after that gun, Jinx." With that, the figure went towards [Name], causing the Firelight Beast to start backing away and stopped when they were at the edge of the roof.

"Backing away won't help. I'm here to help, Firefly."

This caused [Name] to perk up in confusion, knowing that only one person would even dare to utter that nickname to them.

Ekko.

And, that was who it really was. The boy took off his hood, a relieved sigh fell upon his lips and glanced at [Name], ushering them to come over to him. "Are you alright, Firefly?"

[Name] brought up their arm, showing the blood seeping from it and gave Ekko a deadpanned look. To this, the white-haired boy rolled his eyes, slightly amused from their reaction and opened up a crossbag attached onto his side.

Tilting their head to the side, [Name] sat themselves back down and watched Ekko bring out some medical supplies. "I thought this would come in handy."

"Of course, the Boy Saviour is an organised nerd." Jinx rolled her eyes, getting up and sat herself by the wall, rubbing her blood away. To this, Ekko rolled his eyes at her remark and let out a small scoff.

"Give me your arm, Firefly." In response, [Name] hesitantly complied and brought their arm to Ekko's grasp. He then, started to wrap the bandages around them. Jinx merely exhaled through her nose, a breath leaving her lips and blew a strand of her blue hair away from her face.

"Did Jinx do anything to you?"

"I'm right here, y'know?!"

In compliance, [Name] shook their head and shuffled about. "She explained how I-- might turn into...actual beast."

"I know. I, um, heard. The conversation was loud, as fuck. Well, since I heard Jinx do most of the talking, it makes sense." Ekko shrugged, an uneased silence settled in, not too long after he said that.

"Can I get my gun now?" Jinx asked.

"No." Ekko quickly answered, tampering about with [Name's] bandages to arranged them correctly.

"Can I get it now?"

"No."

"Can I get it n--"

"For fuck's sake, not yet. Wait, and calm your ass down."

The blueberry girl merely huffed in annoyance, crossing her arms and [Name] could only watched on within amusement.

"If I sing, can I get my gun back?"

Ekko clicked his tongue in irritation, dropping his bandages and quickly looked at Jinx. "I swear to God, don't start with a singing fest. Don't want to deal with it."

"You're no funnnnn!" Jinx groaned in boredom, pressing her head back to look up at the sky.

"And, you're not safe to be around. But, here we are."

"Uhm, Ekko: you're--...overdoing the bandages now." [Name] cleared their throat, glancing at their bandages and nudged Ekko. And, the boy was indeed doing that, he muttered an apology and arranged the bandages properly.

"Me and the others are trying to find ways to fix this. I'll-- We'll find a way for you to get back to your own self, Firefly." Ekko declared, placing the medical supplies back into the crossbag, then handing some painkillers to [Name] and tossed a plaster to Jinx.

Jinx perked up in determination, tearing off the little bit from the plaster and placed it onto her bleeding gash on her forehead. "I'll fix them up, before you do, Boy Saviour! Then, you will be a loser and I'll be the winner--!"

[Name] consumed their painkillers, just munching on them and furrowed their brows at Ekko's nose twitching in slight distaste.

"I was going to give you water, but you just ate them, so nevermind..." He put the bottle of water away, letting out a small huff.

"They're turning into a beast, very surely. So, I told you soooo!" The mere sentence was uttered out in a sing-song tone, the teasing was annoying Ekko, as a disgruntled noise left his lips and he could only roll his brown eyes in dismay.

"Also, Jinx: this isn't a competition to see who can get [Name] back to their normal self the fastest. This is actually serious, their life could be at risk, if these....changes are going to be more drastic than just growing hair everywhere on themselves."

Jinx stood up, crossing her arms and let out a small huff. "Okay, when you're done lecturing me, I'll just grab my gun and be off on my way to get an antidote to win!" Ekko widened his eyes, going to grab the gun, before Jinx could, but she swooped it into her clutches and backed away. As she moved back, the blue-haired girl blew a raspberry at the white-haired boy, jumping off from the building, sliding down by her grip on the ladder and landed safely onto the ground.

Jinx then, skipped away and hummed a small tune to herself.

Ekko's shoulders slumped, glancing back at [Name] with concern. "You alright, Firefly? You haven't said much. Usually, it'd be like, a comment on how I failed to get the gun, before Jinx could." He rolled his eyes amusingly at the thought, a small chuckle emitted from his mouth.

[Name] gurgled out, "Throat hurts to speak...--long words."

Ekko frowned, nodding in an understanding tone. "Alright, I'll go to just give you some space, so you won't have to hurt your throat anymore from talking.--"

"No!" [Name] boomed out, their voice thundered within the yell and cleared their throat from the sudden outburst. "Sorry...Can you--Stay?"

Ekko furrowed his brows, merely nodding. He did trust Scar to keep things at the Sanctuary up and running, while Ekko was here. The white-haired walked over to [Name], sitting beside them by the ledge of the rooftop.

The silence fulfilled the two of them, Ekko glanced to look at [Name], then looked out to the distance. They both knew that no words needed to be spoken in this moment.

For once, it wasn't an awkward silence.
