"Again."

"You've got to be fucking kidding me. We've been doing this for too long!" They both have been doing this for too long indeed.

Ekko and [Name]. Not exactly the suited pair you'd see on a daily basis. Ekko had taken it upon himself to challenge [Name] to a sparring session and, of course, [Name] agreed to it.

Big mistake.

Ekko seemed consistent on going over the same course of action, over and over again. The two would fight, either one would lose or win, and then Ekko would just want a rematch for two particularly different reasons:

He believed that [Name] was letting him win on purpose, so that they could get out of this scot-free.

Or, it'd be that Ekko thought [Name] was finding some way to cheat and win against him.

This irritated to two sides on every differing end. Both of them, merely frowned and glared at one another, their eyes hardening with each passing second it took on staring at each other.

"I don't care, if we've been going at this for long. One more match, Firefly. Or, are you scared of losing, for real this time?"

Firefly.

That fucking nickname. It would always cause [Name] to irk in displeasure, Ekko took note of that and used it whenever, wherever. A small annoyed huff, left [Name's] lips and their glared hardened onto the smirking, white-haired boy.

But, they let out a small exhale and their angered features calmed down. [Name] wasn't going to satisfy the boy with their angered looks.

No, way.

Instead, a raised brow and a small smirk formed in return. Ekko tried to hide his confusion, upon not seeing [Name's] usual angered look.

"I'm not scared, Boy Saviour. Just worried, that your ego will get hurt even more and for that, I'll go easy on you. But, don't let my words fuel your ego!" [Name] pouted mockingly, their words pouring out with each root of sarcasm and ridicule.

Ekko's eyes widened, before stiffening his posture and gripped the spear he had within his grasp, [Name] doing the same to their own.

Then two started to run towards each other, the reoccurring session starting all over again.

...

Ekko's ego was fuelled by [Name's] words, because he practically ate their words.

He had won.

And, he wouldn't stop being a cocky bastard about it towards [Name]. A confident grin was upon his face, which [Name] returned with a pissed-off scoff.

"I only went easy on you, like I said."

This time, Ekko didn't care for the excuses now. His lips twitched upwards in his cocky manner, rolling his eyes in an amused motion and emitted a small chuckle from his lips.

"Really, now? Sure-Sure." His voice was tampered with everlasting sarcasm, causing an irritating irk for [Name].

[Name] could only let out a small disgruntled grunt, shifting to the side and their only answer was of the deafening silence that followed onwards. Gripping the water bottle given to them, [Name] opened it up and drank a bit from it.

A sharpened breath left their lips, staring intently at their water bottle and glanced to see Ekko staring at them with a shit-eating grin. This caused the other to roll their eyes, shoving Ekko away from them. "Stop looking at me, like that! Almost makes it seem, like you're in love with me, or something like that."

Ekko was taken aback by this statement, his eyes widened slightly and then relaxed his posture, clearing his throat. He rolled his eyes to rid of his shocked state, "As if, you wish, Firefly."

[Name] let out a small tch sound, picking up their mask, gloves and placed their hoverboard over onto their back.

Ekko furrowed his brows within confusion, seeing [Name] start to head out. "Where are you going?"

"Oh, me?" [Name] inquired in questioning, raising a brow and gripped the ledges of the doorway, peeking through the door to glance at Ekko. They merely shrugged, a tilted grin forming upon their face.Β

"Just going out." And, without awaiting for Ekko's response, they were out from the doorway.
