❝ but i PROMISE you this,
i'll always look out for YOU ! ❞
sparks, coldplay.
ROBIN AND FINNEY were making their way to lunch outside by the school field as usual, where them and jaelin and gwen would always have lunch.
they were about to head out the doors when suddenly a voice called out to them. "robin! can we talk for a moment? please?"
finney and robin shared an annoyed look. "why? i don't wanna talk to you." robin told her with a bored expression. all he wanted was to sit down and eat his lunch with jaelin on his shoulder.
"just- please, it's important. i won't try anything if that's what your thinking." vianna crossed her arms.
"whatever you have to tell me you can tell to my friends." robin rolled his eyes, already fed up.
"robin please, i swear it won't be long...it's about jaelin." vianna held eye contact. she noticed his demeanour change when jaelin was mentioned- she didn't know wether to smirk or scowl.
finney sensed robin tense up and put a hand on his shoulder. "robin just to get her to leave us alone, go talk to her. you know where to find us." he awkwardly told him before leaving through the double doors.
when the doors shut, vianna dropped the polite act. "listen robin, i know you don't like me-"
"well obviously."
"just hear me out.." vianna huffed, "so.."
JAELIN AND GWEN looked up to see finney walking towards them. jaelin furrowed her brows, "where's robin?"
"aylin, vianna pulled robin aside. she said she wanted to talk about something and apparently about you as well. maybe you should.."
"don't have to tell me twice." jaelin stood up and made her way towards the building, abandoning her last sandwich.
the two blake siblings noticed the sandwich and shared a look. gwen had a stern face, "rock paper scissors for the sandwich?"
"duh." finney replied as the two battled it out for one of jaelin's signature sandwiches.
during this, jaelin opened one of the doors quietly and swiftly slipped in, closing it silently behind her. she heard voice just around the corner and tip toed her way towards it.
she leaned her back on the wall just before the corner and listened in the conversation. she could easily tell it was robin and vianna, due to one being monotone and the other annoying one.
"i still don't understand why the fuck you started telling everyone that. stop dragging me into your fucking fantasies!" robin's clearly irritated voice told her.
vianna winced slightly before covering it up, "whatever. look, all im saying is, if you don't help me by pretending to like me and ditch jaelin without telling her..then i won't hesitate to start another rumour."
"oh so now you're threatening me? what makes you think i'll do what you want me to do?" he scoffed.
"i knew you'd say that. so, if you don't, i'll simply start a whole bunch of rumours about jaelin." vianna said nonchalantly.
jaelin was sick to her stomach- and no, not because of the food. she saw sure she had the same expression as robin: shocked and disgusted.
"you're gonna go that low? what the fuck is your problem, vianna?" he said her name with disgust.
"trust me, i could spread a lot more nastier things. word gets around fast- and don't even try to beat me up. you wouldn't hit a girl, would you?"
"i wouldn't hit nice and respectful girls. luckily, you're out that category." jaelin could've worn she heard robin's knuckles crack.
"beat me up, robin. go ahead. i'll just blame it on jaelin. no matter what you do, i'll always find a way to put it on your precious little jaelin."
a moment of silence passed by until robin spoke up, "what do you want from me? after this could you leave me and jaelin the fuck alone?"
"to ignore jaelin for a couple days and pretend to like me." vianna told him.
jaelin couldn't imagine a couple days where robin would be ignoring her. she's staying over at his house for crying out loud, and she doesn't handle awkwardness well.
"..i'll ignore jaelin. but i'm not gonna pretend to like you. take it or leave it." robin's voice hinted no emotion, although inside he was freaking out. he didn't want jaelin to hate him for something he didn't want to do.
he just hoped she would understand.
JAELIN CAME BACK to gwen and finney, and an empty lunch bag, but she didn't care. she lost her appetite. the two siblings noticed her frown and asked her what was wrong. that's when she told them everything she heard.
"but don't tell robin that you know. don't make it seem like you do either. he doesn't know i know." she quickly told them, bringing her knees up to her chest.
"that bitch.. i always wanted to put her in her place, and now this gave me more of a reason to kick the shit out of her." gwen spoke, feeling awful about the situation.
finney rubbed jaelin's back to comfort her, "i'm sorry about that aylin. if i was good at fighting, you know i'd fight her." he frowned.
jaelin shook her head slightly, "don't worry about it finn. but of course you can fight, you just have to believe in yourself."
finney gave her a grateful smile, "i should be the one cheering you up, not the other way around."
"well if you're sad then i'm sad. it's like killing two birds with one stone." she shrugged, letting out a breathy chuckle.
the rest of lunch, robin didn't show up- for obvious reasons much to their dismay. the two siblings tried their best to subtlety cheer up their friend, but no avail, she still felt irritated by the whole situation.
"i've got math next too." jaelin flopped down onto the ground in despair. she hated knowing the fact that robin may be ignoring her the whole lesson.
"oh..yikes." gwen grimaced at the fact that robin arellano, for the first time in forever, will be ignoring jaelin.
on the other hand, jaelin didn't know wether to be mad at robin or be grateful for him. she couldn't ever admit the tiny feelings she had for him, and this didn't help at all.
how could he accept such a thing for her sake? it truly baffled her. she believed she didn't deserve him, after seeing all the things he's willingly to do for her.
"hello? earth to jaelin?" finney waved his hand back and forth in front of the girl's face. she was laying on the floor for a while just looking up at the sky, not noticing the other two calling her name for the past 5 minutes.
"i think she's broken."
gwen rolled her eyes, "it's all vianna's fault. if it wasn't for her stupid mouth jaelin wouldn't be all gloomy like this."
finney nodded his head in agreement before placing jaelin's head on his lap, "aylin pull yourself together!"
"no."
"aylin-"
"no."
"jaelin noelle covey!"
"fine!" the girl huffed and sat up, glaring at finney who held a triumphant look. she gave him the middle finger, before going over to gwen and laying down with her head on her lap this time.
"oh come on!"
