THE AVENGERS ESCORTED THOR AND LOKI, who was handcuffed muzzled, to a blocked area in New York City. After the battle, everyone was pretty much worn out from fighting and gained a few days off to rest and heal, Jamie included. She welcomed those off-days with open arms and spent those days sleeping and taking care of herself, and surprisingly her nightmares didn't occur as often as she anticipated. It was definitely a much-needed rest and now she was better than ever, she thinks.

Jamie had her arm linked with Anna as they slowly approached the Asgardian gods standing at the center of the rest. Thor shook hands with his team before giving Selvig and Elijah a hug. He pulled away soon after and looked at the others, his gaze lingering longer on the sorceress before turning his attention back on the glass tube.

Tony opened the case and Bruce pulled out the Tesseract, gently placing it inside the glass vial. Thor gave Loki the other end, who with a glare, hesitantly took it. The blue cube beamed with energy as they held the tube. They leaped into the energy shaft and disappeared.

One by one, the group wanders off in different directions. Elijah sauntered towards the girls with a soft smile plastered onto his face. "Where are you ladies headed to?" he asked, his arms founding their way to their shoulders, giving it a little squeeze.

Anna giggled, patting his arm. "I'll be joining Nat and Barton. We've got some unfinished business we'd like to finish," she replied, her smile getting wider hearing the pair calling for her. "I'll see you guys soon, and Jamie I'll be expecting a call from you." she cheekily bubbled, giving her friend a dimpled smile before hugging them tightly.

Jamie chuckled and said her goodbyes to Elijah as well, watching his figure climbing into the car along with Tony and Bruce. The billionaire drove off, throwing out a peace sign towards Jamie whilst she rolled her eyes with a smile, shaking her head at his childish behavior.

The ex-soldier sighed contently and turned around, locking eyes with Steve in the process. He gave her a polite smile as he slowly started to approach her. "What's your next stop?" he asked, his voice lacing with curiosity.

She mirrored his smile, softly shrugging her shoulders, "I don't know. I haven't really thought about it." she answered, tucking small pieces of her hair behind her ears.

Steve put his hands inside his pocket, his eyes softening. "You're not joining them?" he questioned, referring to her old friends.

Jamie shook her head, "No, I think the best for me is to lay a little low for now on. So, I'm gonna stay here." she responded, her smile reaching her eyes. "And what about you? How are you holding up with the new century and all?" she kindly asked, her eyes softening.

Steve rubbed his neck as he tilted his head to the side, the question taking him slightly off guard. He looked down at his shoes, his body swaying as his hands were placed inside his pockets. He frowned as his mind went into melancholia; The memories of sleepless nights and longing for his past. No one had asked him that question, and he admitted it felt comforting to be asked by her.

"I'm getting there, I think. It's a lot to take in, but I'm trying my best to get used to this new world," he answered with a sheepish smile, his cheeks tinting with a slight crimson.

Jamie nodded, her smile never leaving her face. "That's good..." She trailed off, shifting her body to the side as she was contemplating her next answer. "You know, if you need help with catching up with the world I'm only one call away. You don't need to deal with it alone, and I'm speaking from experience," she said with a soft laugh at the end.

Steve's heart fluttered at her kind gesture. "I appreciate it, Jamie." he thanked her, giving her a grateful smile, which she returned with a grin.

"Well, I don't wanna keep you up, Steve. I'm sure you have other things to do. I'll, uh, I'll see you soon, hopefully." she shyly said, her voice squeaking at the end making her curse internally.

Steve chuckled and nodded his head, "I think you will see me quite often." he responded, hinting at her offer with a cheeky grin. He mentally shook his head at his sudden confidence, feeling heat wash over him. But that soon vanished when he saw her smiling widely, "You're welcome to visit anytime, Rogers." she beamed and winked before she bid her goodbyes, leaving an amused Steve behind.

The soldier shook his head with a chuckle, his lips curving into another smile as he jumped on his motorbike, riding away from the area with his Harley. They all parted their ways, for now.
