ok this time is the young request
warning: mention of death (slight angst)
───── ◦'𖥸'◦ ─────
A blue mushroom with amber flaring eyes walked and scanned through his eyes across the towers of papers. Entering himself through the door after a knock, as of his usual routine. "Julius-san, I have some paper— Julius-sama?"
He saw the normal round table of the small house that the current Wizard King lives was empty. He placed the papers by the small table and went ahead to search the house. "Julius-sama?"
But with no avail, Marx found himself in a tough position. The small Wizard King was nowhere to be seen. "Julius-sama?!"
"Where are you?!"
─────────────────
MEANWHILE~
─────────────────
"Hm, hm~ Time to find cool magics! I hope Marx doesn't mind." Julius strides along the forest floor, not far from a nearby town close to the capital. The urge to come here was large. It was like Julius had never come by and wandered much into this one.
Humming and breathing in the refreshing air, the small boy smiled. The chirping birds and crickets around rang into his ears in peaceful serenity.
It was then where Julius felt a fair amount of mana, not too large yet not too big. A large roar burned to his ears and set himself alarmed. But all of a sudden, a young girl's laugh came and calmed him down.
Going past a few bushes, Julius hid behind a tree with his eyes peeking into a clear lane of grass. A young girl laid on top of a black and blue dragon sets his eyes wide like saucers. The rare and legendary creature, so elegant and dangerous, was right by his eyes.
Julius' eyes went twinkling like stars. The beam of the light atmosphere around the human and the creature was friendly and lovely. Never had he thought to meet such a creature together with a human!
"Woah, I'm super lucky today!" Julius squealed silently. Knowing how childish he could be, yet he didn't mind that he's now younger in age.
He continued to watch the two from afar with such bright eyes.
"Acnologia, you're so cute today!" The girl sprawled over the hard skin of the black scale in blue detail.
"Shut up, human." The dragon responded with a huff of annoyance hindered by his tone. The girl giggled by his response, cuddling closer to the hard neck of the dragon, earning a roar of irritation calling.
Julius who heard everything went dazzling in huge amusement. "It can talk!!!" He whispered-yelled.
Her giggles may have melted the old creature, losing his stance. Acnologia, the dragon, perked his ears and senses as he felt some presence, alarming him. He tilted his head, scanning around which made the girl stop.
"I smell an old man nearby. Beware." Acnologia sniffed the air in disgust.
The girl blinked, stretching a smile right after with full excitement. "Hm~ you really think so? I really need company anyways!"
"Oi, brat—!" The dragon called out, before disappearing into thin particles, surprising Julius with uttermost bamboozling experience.
"Sorry, Logia-kun!" She grinned and waved. Falling to the earthy ground, she stood herself up and patted the dust away.
"You can come out now!" She called out.
Julius' hiding was spotted from far away, yet he didn't mind. Shocked and amazed, he quickly ran to the smaller girl with eyes wide and shimmering. "What was that?! That was awesome!"
"You really think so?" The girl blushed, rubbing her head sheepishly with an awkward grin.
"Yeah! So, what's your magic?!"
His question pulled her to go quiet for a moment. She pondered for a while, thinking of an answer. "U-Uh, I can... summon creatures! Yeah!"
Her answer brought excitement and joy once again. This was new to Julius. Never in his life has he seen a mage be able to summon creatures, especially a little girl! "Summon creatures?! That's insane!!"
"Can you show me more!!"
His hyper personality brought her to influence the same feeling, unable to back away from such a request to show. "Sure!"
"My name is Chronovala!"
"(n/n)!"
────────────────────────────────
A large purple snake appeared around her neck, hissing and slithering as missing the owner as much as the owner did. Julius, who sat and watch by the stone, clapped and impressed.
"Woah!"
Cubellious, the snake, wrapped herself and nudged the young girl's head, earning a giggle from the girl, ticklish as she may.
(oml guess where cubellious is from PLZ)
Up next, the snake left as the two kids waved their goodbyes. Appearing a white tiger with sharp eyes and teeth, Atsushi, who meowed right by the girl who cuddled close to the tiger. Julius went and pat the tiger, falling close to the girl with a grin. "Cool!"
A three-headed dog replaced the white tiger in the shape of a cat. Julius accidentally tripped by its tail and got chased on. "GAHHH!"
"Sorry about that, Chronovala!" She dead-pants.
After a while, laying on the grass clearing, Julius panted and caught his breath. "Wow, you have really cool magic. I'm jealoussss."
"What about you?" The girl tilted her head. She stood above him and blocked the shining sun from his face.
"Ah, that's a secret!" Julius grins. "How old are you, (n/n)-chan?"
She grinned in return. "I'm ten!"
"Woah! I'm thirteen. So, I'm older!" Julius gasped and joyfully cheered. Urging his elation towards the girl, lending his hands out to the girl. "Hey, let's be friends!"
"Friends...?" She quizzes, looking puzzled and stunned.
Julius stood up unto his two feet. Lending his hand and waiting for acceptance. "Yeah! Would you want to?"
She grinned like never before, "Sure!" Sealing their friendship into a handshake. She grinned along with him.
Julius called and claimed himself to the girl with no sense of remorse. All he felt was undying excitement to what was to happen in their future. "I'll be your greatest friend, then!"
"So, where do you live, (n/n)?" It felt like deja vu, not knowing how and why. He just felt that way.
"In there!" She pointed to the cave nearby, all dark and mysterious.
Julius, baffled, questioned the girl with an eager demeanour. "Wha- Why are you living in a cave?! Is someone tracking you?"
"N-No reason. I just like it here." She replied with a soft smile. Her dirtied hair swaying by the winds. "Oh?"
Julius was right on curious. Why was a girl living in a cave all by herself. There was a town close by, so why? Must it be because of the elves came by and nearly reigned the place, so she went and lived here to avoid so? Or what was it?
Before he was about to ask more, a boom of confetti and fireworks in mid daylight caught his attention. He turned and saw that it was indeed the town nearby, so he went and offered a trip to check things out, wishing to accompany her rather than being here alone.
"Heh? The town is very lively today. Would you like to check it out with me?" He beamed.
"Sure!"
"Let's go!"
────────────────────────────────
They walked by the town's road and pavements. It's laughs and hollering celebration as light and joyous. The stands and the shops were decorated and wondrous to their eyes. "Seems like the town folks are up for some festival!"
"Cool!" The girl shouted, never seem to understand what festivals are, and never have even been on it.
A food stand was by their view. An old woman waved by their closing figures and showed them the pots of delish. "Look, look, a cookie! Would you like some?"
"No, thanks. I like this more!" (n/n) hummed by the bread she bit.
The boy's brows tweaked. "Oh, you've tried cookies?"
"W-Well, no-"
"Then, here!" He shoved the cookie right to her mouth, surprising her before she melted to the flavoured sweet cookie. The (flavour) cookies as delicious as the sweetness caught her to surprise.
"Woah!" She twinkled, the crocodile tears flowing down her cheeks sent him laughing cutely.
"How is it?" He asked and watched her reaction with an equal amount of excitement.
She gleamed and eyes twinkled along with his. "It's really, really good!"
"Right? Here, have some more!
She grinned in response, holding the jar of cookies he bought to share. "Thank you!"
They walked side by side, having to see many unexpected surprises and glee. Julius then saw the performance and the crowd around them. Stopping the girl from walking and tugged her to see what he was seeing.
With her mouth filled in cookies, she propelled her steps with Julius' help.
"Look, look!" Julius pointed by the man in stage, blowing out the performance with his phenomenal arts made by his magic. The girl joined in watching the show, her eyes shining by the fiery fire as magnificent as it could be.
As the performance went on, Julius unconsciously slid his fingers and tangled by the girl. Their shock brought no surprise for their sudden hold. Holding hands as if the two have gotten along and gotten close by the few hours passed. It felt like it was meant to be.
A red string of fate went and tangled their fingers.
"Woah, that's one talented fire magic user! Did you see how he blew fire out of his mouth?! It was like hOOOSH, then WHUAHHH!" He exaggerated, moving his hand around with the other still with hers.
The girl nodded with the equal amount of enthusiasm, swaying their tangled fingers front and behind, clearly enjoying the moment.
"Yeah, yeah! The fire went BUARR, then PhHIEEEW!" She stated.
"Yeah!! A man's hair got caught on to the fire, though." Julius stifled a laugh, feeling guilty right after with tears brimming his eyes. "What an extraordinary magic!"
"Yeah!" She grinned with the cookie jar still in hand.
They explored once again, this time hand in hand. Their bodies unconsciously got closer and closer by the crowd. The two didn't mind, but it was all because of their short figures that they were unable to see much.
The people walking past saw nothing more than two kids side by side and enjoying their time together. But what caught much of their eyes were the differences in clothing they wore.
The muddy and low-class outfit she wore was simply nothing to the noble outfit the boy wore. But it was cute to see such kids enjoying the night as it was young.
"Here, here! Let's go in! It's been so long since I've seen these!" Julius pulled the girl to a circular tent, surprising her as it was suddenly dark.
"What's this?" She breathed in, smelling the different types of mana hanging around the tent. Julius grinned, responding as the show was bound to start any moment now.
"A magic exhibition! This is perfect!"
The lights then shined around them, colouring the once dark room into illuminating light. The various colour that was nothing but simple magic but yet captivated her core to the point she gasped in shock.
"W-Wow..." She spoke.
Julius grinned, turning to the sides as their fingers still tangled and comfortable. Watching her stood in such complexion of magic has warmed his heart. "Pretty, right?"
"Yeah..." She smiled, continuing. "It reminds me so much of my friend..." She sighs.
Julius pulled away from his smile, dawning with confusion, continuing his way to wait for her response. "What's wrong with your friend? Where are they?"
"He's gone."
Those simplest words for some reason had him broken. Those shattering sound of his heart now filled with utter despair and emptiness. But it was that he didn't know of her and yet he's feeling this way. Was it empathy?
"I'm sorry for that... My deepest condolences." He smiled sadly.
Expecting a saddened respond, never have he thought that a grin will be flashed right to him, aching his confused heart. "It's fine. I think he's alright, now!" She said, delighted and cherished.
Pulling a question in mind, she told what was on her mind, still dazzled by the magic and mana produced in the lone tent as they continued to lay down on the ground to face the ceiling of colours. "This might be really weird, but I feel like I have seen you before."
"I was going to say that earlier. Who are you, (n/n)?" Julius pulled his own card.
"And you, Chronovala."
────────────────────────────────
The man sat on his toilet. Reading his all-time favourite thing, the newspapers. It was then where the peaceful serenity was crashed down when contacting magic came to his view. The blue mushroom viewed to his face and plead. Marx has struggled in contacting the available captains in hopes of the Wizard King's secrets to not be revealed. But it was hard to do so as the captains are busy with their own tasks and missions.
The mushroom knew that he could rely on this man.
"Please, Yami-san, find Julius. I can't find him and locate him with my magic for some reason. I can't track him down nor contact him." Marx spoke, clearly worried and stressed of so.
Irritated by the sudden appearance, the man swished his hand over it in an attempt for it to go away. "Tch, mushroom. I'm taking a huge dump, right now. Shoo." The mushroom stayed by with no difficulties. Marx pleaded to the man. "Please, Yami-san. The others are currently busy on a mission--"
"I'm also on a mission. I'm taking the largest dump I have ever had." Yami grumbled, scruffing his scruffed beard.
"He hasn't gone back since morning. It's evening, now. I need your help." The mushroom pleaded once more, losing hope in finding the young Wizard King.
"Hn. Fine. I better get a raise after this."
────────────────────────────────
The tent swung open, dissipating the forsaken and colourful mana. The two stood in surprise as a man came smoking his cig. Puffing it out and away into clouds of grey, Julius blinked and sheepishly rubbed his head. "Oh? Y-Yami?"
He took another whiff, seeing a cookie by the side which he took nonchalantly. "Mushroom told me to find you. You've been gone for the whole day. Nice job, old-- kid." The man stopped his last words realizing there was another kid by his side.
She sadly smiled, knowing it was time to part ways. After all, he has somewhere to go to, unlike herself. "Ah, you're I supposed this is your family. You should go as I, too."
Julius turned to face her, surprised and saddened. He pursed his lips as he himself, too know that in the end, they were to separate. "(n/n)..."
"Thank you for today, Chronovala-san!" She offered her hand which he accepted like how they first met. Her hurriedly shook it as they lingered in pulling away.
"It's nice knowing you, Julius-san!"
She told the disguised man in a child's body. Smiling and walking past the tall dark-haired man after a bow. Waving, "I have to go now!"
"Goodbye!" She ran to the crowd, losing Julius with no answers.
"How did you--?" Julius dumbfoundedly asked. The man who chewed the cookie saw the despair in his leader's child-like eyes. Yet, he cheered him up by taking him to his back.
"We'll meet one day, right?!" He proposed and yelled to the crowd with no response in return, downing his mood furthermore.
"Come on, let's get you back home, old man."

CUE THE SONG
───────────────────
"It was nice meeting you once again, Julius." She crestfallenly collected. Tears brimmed by her now welled eyes. "It clearly has been years."
"You did come back..." She stated, pushing herself into the cave she lived in.
She laughed softly, thinking of a memory. "And you really did forget about me."
"Ah, I am a spirit, now. I should put myself aside from these problems. I'm nothing more but an illusion to others." The grown woman by her late 30's started. Her (h/c)-coloured hair into the darkest part of the cave. Her once young appearance has changed into an adult, heartbroken and mourning.
"What a lovely encounter we had." She smiled dejectedly as the tears welled has fallen like rivers.

"That's some cool magic you got there!" A boy fell from a tree, sprinting to the girl who jumped in surprised.
"Really?" The girl blushed, rubbing her head sheepishly with an awkward grin. The boy nodded feverishly, beyond his mind and thought to see many rare creatures by his eyes. Snakes, tigers played have disappeared in particles.
"Yeah, yeah! What is it called?!" He questioned.
"I make illusions..." Listening in close, he went and gotten closer to see her. "Illusions? Those snakes and tigers there was an illusion?!"
"Affirmative." She nodded with a smile.
"That's insane!"
"What about you?"
"I can stop things and go really fast like NYOOOM!"
"Hahaha! Show me!" She leaped.
"I will if you do, too!" He grinned at her qith the exact amount of excitement she gave off. "My name is Julius! And you?"
"(y/n)!"
Julius took her hand into his hand, being larger than hers. "Well, (y/n), I think we'll be great friends!"
"Where do you live?"
"There!" She pointed over the cave.
"A cave? Why?"
"I'm hiding from something." She rubbed her head.
"Well don't worry now! I'll keep you safe and you don't need to hide anymore!"
"Come on, let's head to my house!"
-----------------
"Oooh~ Oh! How about you make a dragon!?!"
"Dragon?"
"Yeah! Let's call it Logia!!"
"How about Acnologia, instead?"
"Nice!!!"
-----------------
"Ne, (y/n), what do you want to be?"
"I'm not sure. How about you, Julius?"
"I want to be a Wizard King! I'll get my grimoire tomorrow so wish me luck!"
"I wish you the best luck."
--------
"I'm going to be a magic knight! Can't you believe it?! Oh, how I can't wait for tomorrow. All those magics will be terrific!" Julius gushed his excitement to the younger girl who stood by in front of him. "Eh? What's wrong?"
"I'll miss you." She smiled.
Being a noble and having such loving and understanding parents, he was able to explain to his parents and let her in. The Novachrono family members suddenly disappeared one by one by age. If he did left her in this now empty house, what was there to do? She headed to the cave she lived once in awhile, Julius not fighting against her wishes.
Julius took his belongings on his trip to the capital. "I'll see you soon." He nodded with his lips pursed and confused on what to say.
"When are you going to come back?" Her lips trembled, eyes beginning to well up once more.
"As soon as possible!"
"I see." She sighs, having an unlikely bad feeling.
"Stay safe, alright."
"If I get back here, I might forget about you."
"I love you, (y/n)."
She waited and waited for him to visit her at least once. Knowing how busy he might be to gain his status and acknowledgement, she shrugged things off. She wanted at least a letter from him, yet she received none.
The fastest man on earth who controlled time has no time to visit his motivation and best friend. Lover even. But they were a child, what did they know?
She waited to receive her own grimoire, never receiving one as her age comes.
Never had she thought that the thing she feared of might come and kill her one night. The main reason for her hiding was all to escape from a spirit that has cursed her for having such illusions. A bloodied screaming night has claimed her death, leaving her dead body to rot in a dark cave full of memories.
Julius lost his memories as her last wish to hide with illusions all over his mind. It was selfish but yet for the best. If he wished to become something and knowing that she won't be by his side, he'll lose his friend and motivation.
Since then, she waited and waited as a spirit. Playing by the palace she once rot, now all bones and buried, she then met someone she knew of.

Julius has never seen her since their last meeting in the tent. But he felt empty like his childhood was taken away in a merely small amount of time. He tried to sneak out once and got yelled so he didn't do more of that, focusing his work on the papers.
But what was still stuck to his mind was a young girl with (h/c) hair. The name was (n/n). He remembered it clearly and yet he felt like guilty of not doing something. Inadequate memories are questions stuck to his mind. All he just hope is that she's okay.
Unbeknown, the girl he had been playing with was nothing more than a spirit that guarded him. Someone close to him from the past. Nothing was better than to relish some memories that spirit's once experienced. She was grateful to meet him once again.
It was a wonderful encounter.
