Caressing her wet cheeks, his heart shattering just by seconds passing. His fingers trembling as regrets crawled over his entire being. He never thought that this would happen.
Humming a low tone, comfort and love running through every symphony in harmony. Choking slightly by every breath taken, she felt herself slowly drifting away. She knew this was her end.
"I'm here, the closest I can be, by your side..." Her shallow singings runover the place.
The crimson liquid splattering all over the fresh white snow, staining its purity into pinkish, remaining as a hard and painful memory. Zenon clutched his best friend, knowing that his last sanity is drifting away from him. His eyes still snapped open and wide, tears cascading over his cheeks.
The quite harsh winds blew his hair and cape. His rather small figure seemed like it was ready to be blown away. He was late, he was too late. He couldn't do anything even if he wanted to. This is what the universe granted to him.
"...And that's just fine for now..." A smile bestowed over her now pale face, slowly draining out of life. Reminisce their lovely memories they shared together, stroking his dark hair shiveringly. The winds blew through her lashes, leaving paths of ice, cold snow seething past.
"Tell me gently, the rest of your dreams..." Cracking her typical grin, leaving his eyes in full tears as he clenched them. Wrapping his arms around his puppy love that he would never share memories after.
"That you have started to tell me one day..." Choking out another bloody mess, her voice hoarse, resulting in him to crash within his core. His insides burning in fury and pain. Their actions will never be forgiven.
Zenon came from a rather poor family, struggling in the findings of food and daily needs. His mother's a slut, making her way to the king's bed, who was already married at that time. Bearing the Spade King's child, although not royalty, she was forced to be kicked out of the capital, not allowed to be any closer to the royal family and palace.
Birthing Zenon, it was her most regretful decision she ever made. Leaving the small child broken and beaten as she sailed away to nothingness. Zenon was left with nothing, his crampy figure and unhealthy lifestyle was enough to near him to death. But then she came. She came and saved him like an angel that flew from heavens. Caressing his cheeks as he laid over the cold, white snow, bringing him into her hut. "You're cold... why were you out there?" Her curious eyes capturing his heart by seconds. "It doesn't matter... I'm Zenon. Thank you..."
Her lively laugh running past his ears like melodies replenishing his torn soul. "Alright, it's fine! It must've been tough... I'm (y/n)! A pleasure to meet you, Zenon! You can always stay here anytime!"
She's joyful, her light of pureness was enough for him to light up his dark past. Shining past it and sending him to the peaceful serenity of flower fields and trees of greens, something that he never has seen literally, just something he's heard of and dreamt of. She is something he always been searching of.
"I can sing! Wanna try and hear? Come on, Zeno~ Don't ignore me!" Her pouting lips sent aflame within his heart, burning in passion and love. Warming his whole body in the cold winter region of Spade.
"I don't care. Do as you please, baka." His tsundere self lighted her up, sparkles cascading over her eyes.
"Yay! Alright, I name this 'Reason'!"
From then, their relationship grew. They helped and cared for each other, leaving them into a finally peaceful life. Finding that there were two other kids older than him with the same experience as him, he felt loved and related. His rather crazy siblings, Vanica and Dante. "I'm Dante! Welcome to the family of Zogratis!"
But never have they thought that his royal blood was wanted. They were all ordered to be killed and hung as proof of their death. It was rumoured only, but as guards and assassins reached their small town, they knew it was all true.
Vanica and Dante left, thinking of finding a path for money that they need for daily. Zenon was left with her by the house that they afforded before he decided to go and find some coal for the winter. It was cold and the storms were close, they knew that they had to store up some daily needs as well as coal. Not to mention, the warm thick clothes for the winter.
It was all fun and nice, their small enjoyable laughter that rung over their warm abode. Zenon remembered the fire lighting the side of her face, halo seething by her face. It was a lovely sight.
"Ne~ Zeno. Will you be there for me when I die?" baffled by her plain choice of words, he looked at her with his brows furrowed. "What? No- Why would you die anyway? I won't let that happen."
"I'm joking~~ But just imagine. If I die, what would happen anyway? Will I die or just become a ghost that manoeuvres over the land feeling regret crawling up on me, ya know?" Sighing, she looked up to the not stormy nights. A smile adorned over her face. "Maybe, I'll see a tree one day and find my magic!"
He cherished that very moment, as he felt a slight gut of feeling that he was to suffer from not gaining these memories later on.
But oh he knew that his gut was right. He should've stayed back then.
The bloodied and burnt home was enough proof for him to be angered. He knew that this was bound to happen. The blood rushing within his veins was not the right one all along. Its royalty-pest DNA is enough to fuel him up and hate himself.
The hole staining over her heart was enough proof for her closed of death. The mana wrapping around her figure like an enveloped angel. Its rare green colour sent it all away. Natures forming around her as corpse went fallen one by one. Not knowing it was his demon barking inside of him.
Bones punctured their body, leaving yelps and screams behind. The trees blooming upon them were healing them one by one, but it was unknown to the two. Her bloodied figure wasn't able to repair itself. Unbeknown, the guards slowly healed themselves by her uncontrolled magic. A smile etching over her face as Zenon ran towards her, struggling slightly by the snows.
It was the horror on his face that sent her laughing slightly. As their current time, she hummed and sung the song she made up, the tears passing through her lids were proven of how she was sad of their unfortunate goodbyes.
"Stop it! Stop singing!" Zenon shouted, not holding back his emotions any longer. She was the only one that understood him other than his step-siblings. His mother and that man is nothing to him. "You're losing too much blood! Hold on, I'll find Vanica to help you-"
Laughing slightly, her breathless chuckles sent him fully alarmed. "I'm serious! You can die-"
"Zeno- I'm going to die soon, you know... Instead of letting me live in this terrible world, let me live my last few minutes with my best friend, will ya!" Spluttering another patch of blood, he cupped her mouth not wanting her to speak further.
"No. You're not leaving this shitty world. You promised. You promised!" His ivory bones clattering behind him. His demon slowly consuming him over and over again. His now crimson eye, shining brightly as tears prickled down.
"Zeno... I love you, you know..." Her now small voice sent him over and over the edge, anger consuming him even further. Clutching her frail body, feeling an empty hole forming inside his heart, leaving a large void.
"Shut up. I'm not letting you die." He applied pressure on her wounds, hoping to stop the bleeding from releasing even further. "Not now. Not ever. Not after you told me your feelings like that. You know that I hate confessions."
Smiling once again, weakened, she closed her eyes opening them to look up into the sky. "Zeno... Please... Just this last time."
His lips trembled, the rare look of sadness was saddening to her. This is something she never wanted to see. "Don't cry. If you cry, I'll cry!" Laughing as tears fell further and further down from her eyes.
"What kind of world... Is waiting for us at the end of this path of the unknown?" She continued on, struggling to find air to breathe as her heart closed up and neared its last few pumps. It was slow, the wound was bleeding further, the beatings were soft and gentle. Choking out a sob, Zenon hugged her body as reality struck back at him. He doesn't want her to leave. Not now, nor ever, he wants her beside him at all times.
"I love you. I love you, too! Now, don't leave me, baka!" The warm liquid running down his fingers as he spent her last few moments. "I need you. You promised that you wouldn't leave. I promised that I'll save you and protect you!"
Struggling on finding what to say, his mind went blank. "I love you! You have to live for me! We're looking at the trees you always wanted to see! They're bright green and... and you found your magic!"
"Please just live for me and hold on a little longer!" He shouts to her, her voice cracking slightly by the end as despair flood over him.
"...I'm here, the closest I can be, by your side..." She ignored his words slightly, knowing that she's selfish for her own good. "...And that's just fine... for now..."
Clenching her hand slightly, the fury braced over his eyes. "Shut up! You're seriously ignoring me like that?!"
"One day we'll surely reach it..." The tears flowing down her eyes. Gasping for air as her lungs deteriorated in coldness winds. "We're going to start moving, toward our future..."
"...Right now surely, with our way of doing things." Her voice went silent all of a sudden. Going rather limp on his arms. The warmth glazing on his skin as well as the mana and fields of trees and natures dissipating and disintegrating slowly in a golden green sparkle.
"No- NO! Stop, open your eyes!" He forced out. Cradling her limped figure with his weak arms, the bones still sprung from his back, sharp and heavy.
"I... love... you. Now, take care of others for me..." Going cold, the beatings within her holed heart disappearing.
Sitting there silent, his whole insanity popping out of his cells. Screaming in anger and despair, he faced the cold sky. The winds blowing the sparkles of natures away from them. Leaving a large blood bath.
His shouting was loud enough to the heavens. Angels seemed to blow the trumpets, chaos flooding in once again. Terror and grim firing over the area, blood splattering further. Those awaken guards were healed by the fallen girl. She cared for others and didn't have the heart to let others die on her watch. Just like how she took him in...
She wants to spread love and care for the world. Not wanting anyone to experience like her and Zenon and the other Zogratis siblings.
Standing up, those guards were in confusion, questions flooded over their minds. 'What happened?'
"You shall be punished..." He lowly spoke, standing up after placing the bloodied girl down.
Opening their grimoires hurriedly, alarmed and aware of their surroundings. "It's him! Kill him!"
Breathing out a large puff of smoke out of his fueled body, his crazed eyes as well his wicked smile growing out of him. Losing his last brink of sanity. The horns of devils sprung out of his head, large marks stretching down his pale, flawless forehead and cheeks.
"You all will!" Large scattered bones flew out of the spatial magic he owns, striking the guards down to defeat. He knew from then that he broke her last wish and forever will.
And from then, the Zogratis went and took over the Spade's Kingdom. Their devil powers took their pitiful father, leaving a large terrible past for his newborn child.
-----
Eyeing the fallen albino man, his bloodied figure struggling to attack the scary and evil man. His thoughts buried by his sad flashback. Prying himself away from the sad story that he didn't want to remember.
He observed the trees that decorated the broken and fallen base. He knew that William Vangeance was healing his members from his own safety. Sacrificing himself just like Zenon's memories. It felt like it was Déjà vu, but this time he's the rotten villain.
"I despised those green trees of yours. It brings back awful memories of the past..." Zenon spoke, William shot his amethyst eyes over to the speaking man.
"I envy you," Zenon spoke, facing away from the fallen captain who was strike by sharp heavy bones.
"WILLIAM!!" A woman shouted, her (h/c) hair bloodied and stained. Her exhausted, punctured figure crawling slowly to him.
"No... go back..., (y/n)." William spoke slowly, hoping that his words would ring back to the woman. Zenon grew angrier by moments. His terrible past that that haunted him till the current days. That name... that fucking name.
"(y/n)?" Zenon spotted. William's eyes grew further fear, not wanting his loved ones to be killed. The only love that he shared his past with. 'No... PLEASE, LEAVE!'
"Please, stop this!" She begged, falling unto her knees. "I beg you. I'll do anything!-"
"Anything?" His slightly wicked smile etching over his face. Replying immediately, feeling a sense of hope dawning over her. "Yes! Please, just stop!"
Heartbroken, William knew that his lover was willing to do anything for him and the team, but this is just something that he never wants. Who knows what's that devilishness man thinking inside his mind. "No... No! Stop!"
"Be my women. I'll relish your past once again, (y/n) Zogratis." He appeared by her side, leaving her gaped in shock and fear. Those red cunning eyes show regrets and anger, she will regret this if she accepted.
"I..." She thought, turning to face her lover's crying face, not wanting her to fall into the man's grip. "NO! PLEASE!" His words were cut short as Zenon shots another bone through his ribs, leaving him to scream in pain. "William-!" Zenon pushed the hair past her ears, tucking them. Finding the same (e/c) orbs of her.
She's just like her... or maybe she is her.
"You lost your memories of me. I'll take care of you, just like back then." He knew it was dumb, this woman might be a different person from his past, but being close to her just feels right.
"I won't let you go. Never again." He whispered down her ears.
"Now. Surrender yourself to me." He slid the now skimpy clothes she wore. William's shouts and screams hearing over the base.
"I'll take care of you."
