// Johnny's Point Of View //

We walk out into the living room to see Darry and Soda sitting on the couch watching the TV. They're eyes widen slightly and I see them both glancing at our hands.

Shit...

"What in the world you two... Not to make you seem gay but what's with the hand holding," Soda questions

"W-well... I-i am gay a-and... We're together," Ponyboy says.

"What do you mean by together," Darry asks slowly.

"L-like... T-this together," Ponyboy says.

I felt him tug at my shirt collar and pull my into a quick kiss, pulling away after a few moments. My face heated up but I reached down and grab his hand, keeping my eyes locked with his.

After a minute I turn and look at his brothers, terrified out of my mind... They both had an emotionless expression on and stared into my soul.

"Well... I guess we'll be okay with this...," Soda mutters. "But I'd like to have a little chat with Johnny."

I swallow thickly, a lump forming in my throat and I nod at him slightly. Ponyboy let's go of my hand and I shove my hands into my pockets.

Soda stands up and walks into the kitchen, waiting for me. I follow him slowly and o feel my hands shake with nervousness.

"Johnny..."

"Y-yes Soda?"

"Do you promise to take care of my little brother and not to hurt him in any way?"

"I-i promise. I would never touch him if it wasn't affectionate... I-i swear."

"Okay... Just, take this," he says reaching into his pockets. "Close your eyes please."

I do as he says and close my eyes and take my hands out of my pockets, fiddling with my fingers nervously. I always preparing myself for a hit but it never came.

I just felt something being put into my pocket. My body froze.

"Open your eyes Johnny," Soda says.

I open my eyes and look at him oddly. Slowly, I reach my hand into my pocket and pull out something.

"S-soda..." I was speechless and it felt like all the air in my lungs left. "W-where did you get this?"

"It was mom's... She told me to find the right person but I see you found yours... So, I gave it to you... I know you'll take care of him Johnny," Soda says with a small smile.

I nod and watch as he leaves the kitchen. Quickly, I stuff the ring into my pocket and walk back out next to Ponyboy.

I would give anything to marry that boy and Soda just gave me permission... He trusts me with his little brother.

Ponyboy rests his head on my shoulder. I smile lightly and wrap my arm around his waist.

But would he really want to marry me...
