that next morning, lincoln gave arabella and bellamy some grounder clothes to make them fit in more with their plan.

"we'd make some pretty hot grounders." arabella smirked as she looked bellamy up and down.

bellamy replicated her smirk, shaking his head. "you." he held arabella's face leaning down to her. "are crazy, arabella kane." he said pressing his lips to hers.

arabella hummed against his lips, pulling away momentarily. "me, crazy? ha, never."

bellamy shook his head again, his lips on her once again. the two pulled away when they heard a cough, they turned to see lincoln looking at them awkwardly.

"ready to go?" lincoln asked, a slight strain on his voice.

"yep." arabella chirped, her body already pumping with adrenaline for what they were about to do.

bellamy turned to arabella again. "are you sure you're okay to do this?" he asked, glancing down at her body.

arabella nodded. "i'm fine. they don't even hurt anymore." she lied, her face plastered with a smile.

he looked at her skeptically for a few moments before nodding. "then let's go." he said.

...

arabella had just watched lincoln throw a spear into a deer's chest, the three ran down to the animal. lincoln pulled his spear from its body and placed it on the ground before kneeling down and taking out a knife. arabella and bellamy glanced around, their eyes meeting for a moment.

the two watched as lincoln gutted the deer and placed his hands into its body before pulling them out again and wiping the blood on his face and neck.

bellamy knelt down next to him, taking a quick glance at arabella who was scanning the area again. "okay. so we make it to the intake door without any of the real reapers seeing us. what happens then?" he asked.

"i kill everyone, and you two slip inside." lincoln told them still wiping blood on himself. "limestone."

bellamy pulled a small bag from his pocket and handed it to lincoln, who then dipped his fingers into the bag and wiped it across his forehead and then down to his cheek.

"let's go." lincoln said. "we have a lot of ground to cover before dark."

the three begin to walk again before bellamy speaks up. "i need to know what happened after the intake door."

"they remove your clothes. blast you with boiling water, and douse you with something that burns even worse." lincoln replied, his words not assuring whatsoever.

arabella began to wonder if this was really a good idea, bellamy looked down at her, seemingly having the same thought, he shouldn't have let her come with them.

"from there, we were sorted. the others were tagged harvest. i was tagged cerberus, turned into a reaper."  lincoln continued.

"cerberus, three-headed dog that guards the underworld." bellamy said, possibly a thought he said out loud, arabella looked up at him with a smile.

lincoln looked at him in slight confusion.

"my mom read mythology to us all the time." he answered lincoln's confused face. "octavia loved it."

there was a small bout of silence, arabella slightly gritted her teeth as she walked from her clothing rubbing against her cuts.

"you're good for her. you made her strong." bellamy continued to speak to lincoln.

"she was already strong."

bellamy looked at lincoln before slowing down and stopping, arabella almost bumping into him. "hey, i need to ask you something. you protected my sister before you even knew her. why?"

lincoln turned and walked toward bellamy and arabella. "when i was a boy, i saw a ship fall from the sky like raven's. the man inside was hurt, his body broken. i couldn't get him out."

"suicide by earth." arabella muttered, but bellamy and lincoln heard her. "i heard stuff about it from my dad. i never thought they were true."

"i brought him food, water. i didn't speak the enemy's language yet. so i couldn't understand him, but i wanted to." lincoln continued his story. "so on the third day, i told my father... he made me kill him. the world has been trying to turn me into a monster for as long as i can remember."

arabella looked down at her feet, she knew that feeling all too well.

"let's keep moving." lincoln finished, before turning around and breaking out into a small sprint.

"wait." bellamy called out. "parking garage where we found you, it's north, that way."

lincoln nodded his head in the direction he was running. "there's a mine entrance closer to where the reapers hand us over. we'll go into the underworld when we have to, not before." he added on, a wavering silence between the two men.

lincoln took off again, arabella and bellamy exchanged a glance before following.

...

after a while, the trio had come to a stop. arabella sat herself against a tree, her head resting on her knees. she was massively regretting joining the two because of her wounds, but her stubbornness wasn't going to let her back out.

"the mountain has many eyes between here and the tunnels." lincoln began. "from now on, details must be exact."

"what if we run into real reapers?" arabella slightly called out from the tree, her head still resting on her knees. "won't they wonder where you've been?"

lincoln turned his head to arabella. "all they see is the red. once you take it, nothing else matters, just how you'll get more."

"how much do you remember from when you were on it?" bellamy asked, his voice slightly concerned.

"everything." lincoln simply replied. "arabella, come over here. both of you turn around."

arabella lifted her head and used the tree to get her to stand, she let out a slight wince as she walked over to the two. bellamy stopped her. "it's not too late to go back, bella." he said softly.

"i'll be fine." arabella shrugged off his concern, but bellamy wasn't buying it, neither was lincoln. "seriously, i'm not that stupid to come and do this if i wasn't okay."

bellamy and lincoln exchange a glance. "alright." bellamy finally said as him and arabella turned around.

arabella watched as lincoln placed a log on bellamy's shoulders, and wrapped rope around his wrists tying him to the log, then he wrapped the rope around his neck, lincoln then did the same with arabella.

...

the three soon arrived at a cave entrance. they stood at the entrance for a few moments, making arabella let out a small sigh.

"come on, let's do this." bellamy spoke, and after some hesitation from lincoln the three began to slowly walk inside.

as they walked through the cave, arabella noticed the white lights on the roof of the cave, the mountain men really went all out for their reapers. then lincoln came to a slow stop.

"why are we stopping?" arabella whispered, looking at the man, she looked down to where he was looking and saw a small empty vial, she assumed it was the reaper serum. lincoln placed his foot on the vial and crushed it beneath his boot.

bellamy's face was concerned. "you okay?" he asked.

"as soon as they open the intake doors, we attack." lincoln grumbled, his rough voice seemingly nervous. "do not let it close." lincoln walked closer to the couple. "once they're all dead, you both go in. i'll make it look like you both escaped." he released a sigh. "once you're inside-"

"we know." bellamy interrupted, sending a glance to arabella.

their heads shot towards the sound of distant yells.

"another raider party." lincoln muttered, rushing to bellamy and pulling the rope off his neck, doing the same to arabella.

"what are you doing?" bellamy asked, slightly taken aback.

"we have to go back. it's the only way." lincoln replied, untying bellamy's wrists.

"go back?! no way." bellamy tried pulling away from the man.

"there's three, maybe four. we can fight our way through."

"we'll never get a better chance than this." arabella said quickly.

lincoln went to untie arabella's wrists. "look, i thought i could do this, but i can't. okay, it's over?"

"no. it's not." arabella snapped back.

"we can join them." bellamy chimed in, but lincoln shook his head. "just listen to me. when they bring out the red, you grab it, and you run like hell. the reapers will go nuts, the grounders will run, and the mountain men have to deal with it." he spoke. "no one will be looking for a grounder running into the mountain."

"i said no!" lincoln muttered, pulling the log over bellamy's shoulders, then bellamy rammed himself into lincoln, and the two let out a grunt.

"fight back!" bellamy whispered to lincoln. "they'll think we're trying to escape."

the two get into a small 'fake fight' and lincoln gets bellamy onto his knees and places a knife to his throat, before the reaper gets round the corner arabella throws herself onto the ground to look as though she's passed out.

"dizon da traun won of." lincoln spoke, only a few of the words translating in arabella's head. "em an." arabella was pretty sure that meant 'he's mine."

she heard bellamy almost gasping for air, her hair was covering some of her face, but she could feel eyes on her.

"teik emo kam ram tribou-de." one of the reapers spoke.

arabella heard feet shuffling, assuming bellamy and lincoln were now moving. she felt herself being picked up a few moments later, and two soft taps on her leg eased her nerves, she knew it was lincoln.

...

a short while later, arabella had 'woken up' and was set on the ground, a blindfold covering her eyes, but she had also been stripped of her clothes just leaving her in a bra and underwear. she was unable to cover herself due to her hands being tied together.

"hoz op! zon hon red-de dan..." a reaper yelled. "den zo'n choj op!"

once again only a few of the words registered in her head. she felt her blindfold being removed and her eyes immediately found bellamy's. she heard the sound of a door opening, and then the loud screech of the thing they used to keep the reapers at bay.

"step back, or you won't get your dose." one of the guards yelled, all the reapers quickly moved back as someone in an all-white hazmat suit stepped into the room. arabella kept her head down, praying that nobody would recognize her.

"first dose up." a guard spoke, sticking a needle into one of the reapers' necks.

the person in the hazmat suit came over to them. arabella's head stayed down. "harvest." a woman spoke, then moved on to bellamy. "harvest."

arabella and bellamy looked at each other, a hint of relief in their eyes that they wouldn't get separated again. their heads then turned to lincoln who was next up for the reaper serum. the man stood looking between the couple and the guard.

"come on. next." the guard told him, lincoln slowly walked to the guard and dropped to his knees. bellamy shook his head to the man and arabella didn't even want to watch. she heard the syringe go into his neck and felt guilt like she had never felt before. lincoln was going to become a reaper again, it was their fault. they heard lincoln groan and drop the the ground with a slight thud.

"harvest them all." the woman spoke, her voice extremely similar to dr tsing's.

the ones lined up all got grabbed by the guards, and arabella kept her head down just to be safe. "no wonder they want to harvest a girl." a guard muttered, making arabella narrow her eyes at the ground.

the comment clearly pissed off bellamy because he decided to hit two of the guards, which resulted in him getting kicked to the ground instead.
