raven had managed to calm herself down but tears still fell down her face occasionally. arabella watched as her father and abby headed up to the grounder army to get clarke. she released a shaky breath, reaching for bellamy's hand and taking him away from the crowd.
"you can't die, okay?" arabella told him, her voice shaky. "you can't leave me." she shook her head.
bellamy looked down at arabella, his eyes softening at her erratic movements. "i'm here, sweetheart. i'm not gonna leave you." he grabbed her other hand holding it tightly.
"i'm sorry... for snapping at you all. i realised if it was you in clarke and raven's position that- that i'd do anything to get you back too." she looked up into he dark sky, hoping her tears would magically disappear.
bellamy moved her head so she would look at him again. "it's okay, bella. i'm not holding that against you, and neither are clarke and raven, okay?"
the girl nodded, frantically wiping away her tears. "i am sorry about finn." she looked up at him. "i know i wasn't really on your side about keeping him safe i just wasn't willing to let anyone i care about die because of him." arabella paused for a moment. "i'm not a monster." she told him, thinking back to her and murphy's conversation.
"i know, bella. i never said you were a monster." he looked at her in confusion.
"yeah, i know but i just didn't want you to think i was." she quickly said, her hands anxiously wringing together.
"arabella?" a sad voice called out.
arabella looked past bellamy to see raven, she quickly walked over to the girl, but before arabella could speak raven spoke again.
"can you come with me... with me to see finn?" she asked, her voice shaking.
arabella nodded. "yeah, of course." the girl glanced back to bellamy, who nodded.
arabella took raven's hand and led them out of the gate and over to finn's body. thankfully, the walk was short but the two girls didn't miss the snarls and sneers from the grounders they walked past.
raven knelt next to finn's lifeless body, more tears left her eyes. not long after, clarke left the commanders tent and walked over to arabella and raven.
"go away." raven said to clarke, her voice still shaking.
"raven, i'm sorry." clarke replied, her voice also seemingly void of emotion.
raven quickly rose to her feet. "i said, go away!" she yelled, facing clarke.
arabella stood at the side of the girls, ready to intervene.
"i know how hard this must be for you, but i'm leaving with the grounders, and i need you to keep working on the radio." clarke spoke to raven, tears still in her eyes.
arabella's own eyes widened. "clarke, i don't think that-" her words stopped when they saw grounders picking up finn.
"what are you doing?" raven asked. "what are you doing?" she repeated, more angry this time.
"they need to take him now." clarke tried grabbing raven.
"like hell, they do. get off." raven shrugged clarke off.
"give us a minute, please." the blonde told the grounders. "raven-"
"you agreed to this?" raven whispered, her voice full of pain.
"we're taking him back to the village where the massacre took place." clarke explained, not stopping when she saw the pained look on raven's face. "there's a death ritual. it's the only way to get our people out of mount weather."
arabella sighed. "i'll come with you."
"i'm coming, too, and- don't worry- i'll bring your damn radio." raven snarled, walking past clarke and back to the camp.
this left arabella and clarke alone. clarke sighed before nodding at the grounders to take finn away. arabella pulled clarke into a tight hug. "you did what you had to do." she whispered. "i'll never hold that against you."
clarke quietly cried into arabella's shoulder, her arms wrapped tightly around the girl.
...
it had become daylight as a group of 'skaikru' a name given to them by the grounders, walked to tondc. bellamy, kane, abby, octavia and lincoln had joined them. raven was in front on a wooden trailer being led by a horse. clarke had probably spoken about five words since they had left.
arabella and bellamy had noticed a look from clarke as she looked into the woods beside them. bellamy stepped forward.
"hey, you doing alright?" he asked her.
clarke was silent momentarily, taking another glance into the forest before looking ahead again. "yeah."
bellamy glanced at arabella, who shook her head.
"you did the right thing." bellamy told her, arabella catching up standing between the two.
"now i get to live with it." the blonde replied dryly. "you still think this truce is a bad idea, don't you?" she asked bellamy.
"i think we're wasting time with politics while out friends our friends are in trouble." bellamy responded.
"we need their army to get into mount weather, bellamy, and you know it."
"their army has been getting their ass kicked by mount weather forever." bellamy resorted.
arabella let out a quiet chuckle. "he has a point." she shrugged. "but i think we need an inside man, well woman, and that inside woman is me!" she nodded with a smile, but it quickly faded seeing the looks on bellamy and clarke's faces.
"no, i'd go in." bellamy told her.
"who escaped mount weather? hm? me." she told him with a pointed look.
"no, arabella-"
"forget it." clarke interrupted. "it's too dangerous."
"clarke, if you and bella can make it out, i can make it in." he told her.
"no i can make it in." arabella chimed in.
"i said no." clarke's tone made it clear on her decision.
"then it's a damn good thing i don't take orders from you."
"we." bellamy corrected. "and we... are gonna need a better reason."
"i can't lose you both, too, okay?"
the couple stayed silent, clarke had a point, but arabella and bellamy were too stubborn to listen.
...
the group of skaikru and grounders had set up a small camp to rest in for the night before they arrived to tondc. arabella was sat with octavia and lincoln, who was currently teaching her their language, a way of apologising to arabella for giving her a concussion.
"wait, wait." arabella said quickly. "so it's ai- ai laik... arabella kom skai kru?"
octavia and lincoln looked at arabella with proud smiles.
"that was great, b." octavia grinned.
arabella smiled. "and shof op is shut up?" she asked.
lincoln nodded.
"i'm gonna use that all the time, this is so fun." she softly laughed.
bellamy called out her name, making her look behind her. "and the fun is over." she joked, planting a kiss on octavia's head. "see you tomorrow, tavia."
"reshop." octavia grinned, wiggling her brows at the girl. "it means goodnight."
arabella nodded. "reshop." she said to octavia and lincoln.
arabella walked over to bellamy, her arms wrapping around his neck as she pulled him into a soft kiss. "camping with grounders, exciting right?" she joked, but bellamy didn't look too pleased.
he looked down at her. "i just don't trust them."
arabella shrugged. "me neither, but i highly doubt they trust us either. right now, it's only clarke and lexa who trust each other."
bellamy grunted, glancing off to the side. "you know your dads watching us, right?"
arabella's head swung to the side as she looked at her dad, he immediately looked away acting as if the trees were the most interesting thing on the planet. the girl chuckled, shaking her head. "he's a dad, bell. but he likes you, so i think you'll be fine." arabella nodded with a grin. "who knows... you could be like that one day." she joked, but bellamy clearly didn't get the memo.
"are you pregnant?" bellamy asked in a hushed whisper, his voice in a slight panic.
arabella laughed, having to cover her mouth. "no, bell, i'm not." she shook her head.
"oh, thank god, because that wouldn't be too great right now." bellamy let out a breath of relief.
the girl shook her head again with a flirty smile. "mhm, not right now."
bellamy noticed her look and playfully narrowed his eyes at her. "but we could?" he asked, using his hand to move away some hair from arabella's face.
"we could." she nodded with a smile.
bellamy hummed, leaning down to plant a kiss on her lips. arabella felt her skin go warm, no matter how many times bellamy kissed her the feeling never got old, it felt like the first time they kissed every single time.
"i love you." bellamy whispered to the girl.
arabella smiled. "i love you."
...
that next morning the group of skaikru and the grounders arrived at tondc. the gate opened at the grounders jumped off their horses walking over to the group.
"weapons." one of the grounders spoke, lincoln had told her his name was gustus.
arabella sent the man a look, gripping her gun. lincoln stepped forward handing the man a knife. "we need to disarm before we enter." he told them.
arabella watched clarke place her weapons into a basket. the girl rolled her eyes as she placed her gun in the basket, then she removed the knifes from the inside pockets in her jacket. gustus stared down at her with narrowed eyes.
"that's all of them, big boy." she looked up at him, a bored expression on her face.
the man grunted, moving onto bellamy who just placed his gun into the basket. he leaned his mouth to arabella's ear. "what about the one in your boot?" he asked.
"i'm not going in there unarmed, i'll only use it if i need to, i promise." she replied in a hushed whisper.
bellamy nodded firmly, standing up tall. after a few moments, skaikru had been rid of their weapons, except the knife arabella kept.
"heda." gustus spoke out. "em klir."
lexa nodded, before turning around and heading through the gates of tondc. everyone followed, arabella and bellamy on high alert.
"heda! heda! monin hou!" a grounder yelled.
more shouts were thrown at skaikru, bellamy pulled arabella close after seeing how some of the grounders looked at her.
"ripa gon we hou!"
"what a warm welcome." arabella muttered to bellamy.
the group stopped as a man stood in front of lexa. "skaikru don jak eting op kom ai: ai houmon, ai yongon."
arabella stood in confusion only understanding a couple of the words he spoke.
"stef of." gustus told the man.
the man shook his head as he spoke. "ripa nou ge teik in hir."
arabella saw lexa nod up to gustus, the large man stepped forward and punched the man in the jaw, sending him straight to the ground with a grunt. gustus punched the man again and again and again.
clarke rushed towards lexa. "commander, stop him." she told lexa. "please, they'll blame us for this, too."
gustus continued to punch the man, even as he let out yells of pain.
"teik em kik raun." lexa spoke, gustus stopping immediately at his commanders words.
arabella looked up at bellamy, letting out a puff of air. a man came over to help his friend up and take him away.
lexa turned around facing the grounders behind skaikru. "the sky people march with us now. anyone who tries to stop that will pay with their life." she then turned around and walked away.
"like you said..." bellamy leant down to arabella. "warm welcome."
...
a while later, finn's body was placed on top of a huge mound of sticks and tree trunks, the bodies of the people he killed surrounding him lower down.
"tru kom tondisi. raun faya, oso wada kiln laudnes-de kom fountaim." lexa spoke loudly.
lincoln stood behind octavia and arabella. "people of tondc, in fire, we cleanse the pain of the past." he translated, loud enough for the others to hear.
bellamy held arabella's hand as a torch was passed over to lexa, she stared at the bodies for a moment before passing the torch to clarke. "clarke..."
murmurs were heard all around, probably because it was a rather insane thing of the commander to do. the girl hesitated, while lexa nodded at the blonde girl. clarke looked back at arabella, who also sent her a nod. she walked forward taking the torch from lexa, for what seemed like forever, clarke finally moved her arm forward and set the wood on fire.
"yu gonplei ste odon." clarke spoke, before stepping down and throwing the torch into the middle of the wood pile.
everyone watched as the bodies set alight, an orange hue taking over their faces. arabella squeezed bellamy's hand, bringing it up and holding his hand against her chest.
...
skairkru had been called down into some sort of chamber, arabella walked down the steps to see a large group of grounders and a hell of a lot of food. she sent a smile to octavia and lincoln, staying at clarke's side as they stood at the table.
marcus stood at arabella's side, something wrapped in cloth in his hands. "please accept this gift, commander. we drink this at special occasions." he unwrapped the cloth to reveal a bottle of what arabella assumed was moonshine. "i believe this qualifies." he held out the bottle for lexa to take, she nodded at gustus, then kane held it out towards him instead. gustus took the bottle then handed it to lexa.
"thank you, marcus of the sky people." lexa nodded to the man.
kane had a smile on his face. "you're welcome, lexa. kom trikru." he did his best attempt at their language. "just don't drink too much of it."
lexa faced arabella and clarke. "clarke, arabella, let us drink together."
arabella nodded with a smile.
"it would be my pleasure." clarke nodded.
a man came behind gustus with three cups in his hand, he placed the cups on the table and lexa filled them up. she passed two cups to arabella and clarke and then picked up her own.
"heda, allow me." gustus' deep voice almost startled arabella.
lexa held the cup up for him to take, he stared at arabella and clarke as he sipped some of the drink. he then passed it back to lexa.
"tonight we celebrate our newfound peace. tomorrow we plan our war. to those we've lost." lexa held up her cup. "and to those we shall soon find."
the two girls held up their cups with a nod, but just as they were about to have some of the drink, gustus let out a groan and collapsed onto the table. he coughed loudly and stumbled backwards, everyone in the room looking at him in confusion.
"it's poison." someone spoke up.
out of nowhere, bellamy slapped the cup out of arabella and clarke's hand.
indra withdrew her sword, aiming it at arabella. "it was the sky people!"
"woah, woah!" arabella yelled, as a man shoved the table out of the way, gaining the grounders easy access to them. bellamy ran to stand in front of arabella and clarke.
clarke pushed past him. "this wasn't us! you have to know this wasn't us."
"sou nou teik em wan op!" lexa yelled to the people tending to gustus.
"gon yo we! pat emo daun." indra ordered.
a man grabbed arabella and pulled her away from bellamy, she kicked against him, one of the kicks hitting him right in his kneecap. his grip faltered on the girl, she pulled her arm forwards then sent it right back into his face. the man yelled out in pain, holding his nose as blood poured from it.
two men came over and grabbed her, searching her pockets, he pulled out something and arabella looked at him in confusion. "heda." the man spoke.
"that's not mine." arabella told him, turning to clarke and bellamy with a pleading look.
the man stepped towards lexa, a small vial in his hand. "dison don kamp raun em oukou."
"i swear, that isn't mine." arabella yelled trying to defend herself, she turned to the man who held the vial. "he put it there when he searched me." she turned back to lexa.
there was a long moment of silence. "no sky person leaves this room!" lexa yelled, looking at her people as she walked away.
arabella ran her hands through her hair, looking over at bellamy who watched the grounder leave.
"do something." octavia whispered to lincoln.
lincoln almost looked conflicted for a moment before calling out. "indra. hod op."
indra slowly turned around, her menacing gaze landing on arabella.
"teik ai chich op kom emo." lincoln spoke.
"yu sou laik emo." indra replied, her voice sharp as she spoke. she then turned again, closing and locking the gate behind her.
arabella's fists clenched at her side, she tightened her jaw and picked up a chair throwing it at the back wall, letting out a frustrated yell.
bellamy immediately came over, he took her hands and held them in his. "you gotta calm down, bella." he quietly told her.
her jaw hardened again as she looked at him, she took in a breath. "it wasn't me."
bellamy nodded. "i know, i know."
...
after a while, skaikru had still been left in the room. arabella sat herself down on one of the chairs her head in her hands.
"arabella?" clarke came up to the girl.
arabella lifted her head. "before you ask, no i didn't try and poison the commander. i'm not an idiot."
"i know it's just-" clarke was interrupted.
"leave her, clarke." raven snapped.
"raven, don't." arabella warned, standing up from the chair.
"she's trying to accuse you of trying to kill the commander, arabella." raven looked at the girl in confusion.
"okay, and? i know it wasn't me, so does everyone else in this room. you're the one who tried to get clarke to kill lexa yesterday." arabella didn't mean to snap at raven, but she did anyway.
raven didn't even think before attempting to punch arabella, the girl dodged the fist that flew near her face, she stepped back looking at raven in disbelief.
"did you seriously just try and fucking punch me?" arabella almost laughed.
bellamy and kane walked over, their eyes on arabella to watch for her to retaliate.
"you never gave a fuck about finn, you were ready to let him die." raven snarled.
"because i wasn't gonna let his mistake get me and the people i love killed, raven!" arabella argued back.
"just stop it both of you." clarke stepped in only to end in her getting punched by raven.
arabella rushed forward to raven, shoving her back slightly. "don't." she warned.
raven backed off, as did arabella. never did the girl think she'd be fighting like this with her friend, a close one at that. bellamy came over his comforting hand on her shoulder, arabella leant onto his hand, letting out a sigh.
"i was protecting everyone. i didn't have a choice." clarke's voice spoke up from across the room, everyone's heads turning towards her. "you did. you turned him in."
"i trusted thelonious to talk to your father and convince him not to go public." abby replied.
"you knew dad would never stop. you knew what would happen to him."
arabella looked over at her father, in a similar situation to clarke. her head forgave him but her heart still hurt from the pain that he had caused her, she wished she felt the love she needed from him when the girl was younger. a small part of her felt it now, but sometimes she couldn't shake away the feeling of abandonment.
she turned her head away from him and looked over at clarke who was now standing, she whispered something to abby that arabella couldn't hear. the girl glanced up at bellamy, who sent her a small smile.
clarke and abby had separated, both on different sides of the room. arabella watched marcus walk over to clarke, but she couldn't hear what she was saying, he then sat down next to clarke and arabella felt a feeling of jealously in her chest. he was being the supportive father arabella had always wished for, just not with her.
arabella turned her head away, trying to drown out the heavy feeling in her chest. bellamy was still stood at her side, he looked down at her.
"hey, what's wrong?" he asked quietly.
arabella shook his head. "nothing."
he sent her a look. "i know you, sweetheart, okay? i know when something's wrong."
arabella looked up at him. "i just wish my dad could've been an actual dad." she confessed. "maybe i wouldn't be the way i am now." the girl shrugged.
"i like who you are, in fact i love who you are. you should too." he replied, a smile on his lips as he looked down at the girl his heart beat for.
arabella shook her head with a smile, she was about to speak until the grounders opened up the gate again. bellamy walked forward putting arabella and octavia behind him.
"how's gustus?" lincoln asked from in front of octavia.
"gustus will live." the man replied.
"teik em we." indra spoke.
a man came towards arabella, shoving bellamy out of the way.
"wait, wait, don't!" marcus yelled, attempting to reach for his daughter, but a grounder grabbed him, holding him back, another doing the same with bellamy, who also tried grabbing arabella.
arabella kicked and fought against the man. "it wasn't me!" she shouted. "i didn't do anything!"
"she didn't poison anyone." bellamy's voice spoke up, fighting against the grounder that was twice his size.
"i argued for all of you to die, but the commander is merciful. she wants only one." indra told them, glaring at arabella.
"she's innocent." lincoln told indra.
"i don't care. they move, they bleed."
arabella watched from the exit, the grounder digging his hands deep into her forearms. her people fighting to get her back, but unable to get past the grounders. her eyes flickered to bellamy and octavia, then clarke and her father. she knew she was going to die, they were outnumbered.
"let her go!" bellamy shouted.
"stop, let her go!" octavia yelled, her eyes on arabella as she tried to reach her.
arabella locked eyes with bellamy, her eyes told him that she loved him, then, she was taken away.
...
arabella was tied up, her arms above her head, her eyes cold as lexa stood in front of her.
"i take no joy in this, arabella." lexa spoke.
"it wasn't me." arabella defended herself as a final attempt, she wasn't about to beg for her life, not in front of all the grounders.
her people had left the chamber, no longer fighting against grounders.
"but this time justice will be done." lexa continued.
arabella stared at lexa. "i'd ask you to make it quick but we all know that won't be the case."
lexa held up a knife, slicing it slowly down arabella upper arm. she clenched her jaw, almost certain she was going to crack her teeth from the pressure.
lexa stepped away and indra came forward, holding up arabella's shirt as she sliced her sword against her stomach, arabella screamed out in pain, screwing her eyes shut as she heard bellamy voice yelling for them to stop.
another person stepped forward, slicing his sword against arabella's cheek, she let out another yell. "the face? seriously?" she yelled out in pain.
"you'll be dead anyway." the grounder told her.
"and i'll haunt you from my motherfucking grave." arabella snarled, the pain on her body making her feel weak already.
another man stepped in, his knife slicing her on her chest, arabella let out a scream. the grounders really didn't go easy.
her eyes landed on clarke storming over to the commander, bellamy and abby trying to stop her. arabella shut her eyes as another deep cut was placed upon her stomach. she wanted it to be over, she was getting what she had wanted for years, her life to finally be over.
"stop!" clarke yelled, the grounders all turning to her.
"let her pass." lexa said.
clarke walked forward to lexa. "one of your people tried to kill you, lexa, not one of mine."
"you should've run." indra told clarke.
arabella finally felt herself relax, her body aching from the knifes that cut her skin.
"i can prove it." clarke's voice was firm as she grabbed the moonshine bottle from nyko and took a big gulp of it.
bellamy's eyes didn't tear away from arabella, anger in his eyes at what these people did to her.
"explain." lexa ordered, obviously confused as to why clarke hadn't dropped by now.
"the poison wasn't in the bottle, it was in the cup." clarke explained.
"dison feikau, heda. nou ge ponk klin." gustus spoke from her side.
"it was you." bellamy spoke up, the answer clicking in his head. "he tested the cup. he searched bella."
"gustus would never harm me." lexa told them.
"you weren't the target. the alliance was." bellamy replied, his eyes landing on arabella again, but her eyes weren't open, he looked a moment longer seeing her chest softly rise and fall.
"we didn't do this, and you know it." clarke told lexa.
"yu don ge finga au, gustus." lexa turned to the man. "ron ai ridiyo op."
gustus was silent for a moment before looking down at lexa. "this alliance would cost you your life, heda. i could not let that happen."
"this treachery will cost you yours." lexa said calmly, her piercing gaze looking up at him. "teik em set raun ona tri." she ordered.
bellamy, clarke, kane and abby ran over to an unconscious arabella, cutting her down. she flopped down into bellamy's arms as he held her.
her eyes slowly opened. "these assholes cut my face." she muttered in annoyance.
bellamy shook his head with a smile, kissin the top of arabella's head. they helped her stand up and abby immediately tended to her wounds.
...
arabella stared at gustus as someone came forward and cut him with a knife, a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. he looked like he was about to drop head any moment, lexa stepped forward, glancing over at arabella as she withdrew her sword and held it out to the girl.
arabella didn't even think twice before taking the sword from lexa. she stood in front of gustus. "yu gonplei ste odon." she said dryly as she dove the sword through the man's heart without a second thought.
arabella turned to lexa and handed her the sword back. "you were strong, arabella of the sky people."
the girl nodded. "i know."
...
skaikru had set up a camp again before they headed back to camp jaha. arabella laid in bellamy's arms, and lincoln laid with octavia.
"how did you know it was gustus?" lincoln asked bellamy.
bellamy looked down at arabella as he spoke. "he'd do anything for her." then he looked at octaiva. "to protect her. just makes sense."
"look at the thanks he got." octaiva spoke up, making arabella let out a soft chuckle, the action making her wounds sting.
"guys!" raven called out, rushing over.
"what is is?" bellamy asked, moving his head to look over at raven.
"listen to this." she said as she held the radio in her arms.
arabella couldn't make out the voice for a while until it became more clear. it was jasper. he was saying they were still alive.
"talk to him. say something." clarke urged.
raven shook her head. "it's repeating."
"we need to do this now." bellamy told them. "you got the alliance. now is the time to use it."
"first, we need an inside man and woman." clarke looked at arabella and bellamy. "you were both right, without someone on the inside to lower their defences, turn of the acid fog, an army is useless. you should both go, ella knows her way around better than you do, so she's going too."
"i thought you hated that plan, that we would get ourselves killed." bellamy replied.
"i was being weak. it's worth the risk." clarke answered, reaching into her jacket pocket. "my map of mount weather, in case ella doesn't know where you're going." she handed it to arabella. "find a way to get on that radio and talk to us. good luck." clarke said before walking away.
"how are you guys gonna-" octaiva began to speak.
"i can get you through the tunnels." lincoln interrupted.
"he can't go back there, not yet," octavia shook her head.
"let me show you both what to look for." raven nodded to her tent, arabella and bellamy following after her.
arabella smirked, she was finally getting her second mount weather visit, and this time? she was gonna give them hell.
