Chapter 10

It's been weeks since that strange shadow man appeared to Kol and Kayla on the beach. They have spent every second they've had researching. They didn't find anything out of the ordinary. They had  even tried witches, but they always said the same thing. Nothing was different about Kayla, besides the fact that she had a soulmate. There were only two people who knew anything about her. But neither Kol nor Kayla wanted to contact them.

"Kol?" Kayla said softly as she laid on his chest. She trailed her finger up and down his chest, admiring  the way his body reacted to her touch.

He hummed in reply, his eyes barely open now as he gazed at her. "What is it my love?"

She hesitated slightly, "Do you think we should, maybe, find a way to ask your mother?"

Kol's eyes opened the rest of the way and he quickly flipped them over to where he was on top of her. He had her wrists beside her head as he leaned down and nuzzled her neck. "No." he said, his tone of voice told Kayla that there would be no room for an argument.

Kayla sighed, content, as chills shuddered through her body from his touch. Her eyes were half closed, enjoying the pleasure that shot through her body as he nipped at her neck. She had to force herself to focus on the conversation.

"B-but she could have answers." she said, a soft moan escaped her lips as he hands traveled down the length of her body. He had started to suck on her neck, but hearing her question, he immediately stopped and moved his face to be right in front of hers.

"She could also try to kill you." he growled lowly.

Kayla could see the determination in his eyes, and something else that she couldn't quite place. She slowly wrapped her arms around his neck and sighed, "Ok. But that means we have to contact you-know-who."

Kol seemed to think about it for a moment, "I don't like the thought of you around him."

Kayla let out a short laugh, "But you'll be right there, with me, the whole time!"

"Still." he said, his expression suddenly turning very dark. "You're mine. I don't like the thought of a male who could steal you being around you."

"Well, we could always summon a demon." Kayla joked, she leaned up and kissed Kol's cheek, "You have nothing to worry about. I'm yours and you are mine. I would never leave you, for anybody."

"Not even the devil himself?" Kol questioned with a smirk.

"Not even the devil himself." Kayla confirmed as she finally closed the gap between them. She would never get over the sparks that exploded between them whenever they kissed. She felt so much pleasure just by kissing him, and she knew it was because of the mating bond.

Kol broke the kiss and once again made a home on her neck. He kissed light feathery kisses up and down her neck.

"Kol." Kayla said, her voice coming out in a slight moan. "When will you make love to me?"

Kol once again moved to look into her eyes, something primal sparked in them as he gazed at her.

"Right now." he said, his voice was deeper than normal. Chills shot through Kayla as excitement filled her.

That night Kol and Kayla did something that hadn't been done in centuries. When they made love, their souls bonded together. They were no longer Kol Mikaelson and Kayla Forbes. The universe saw them as one person. One soul. One being. Something awoke in both of them that night, and Kayla was one step closer to figuring out who she was, and what she was.
