Chapter 6
I frowned at the letter on the edge of my bed. What did it mean? What was so special about one silly necklace? Sighing, I took the necklace in my hand and froze when I saw the pendant. It was a beautiful green colour that seemed to almost glow in my dark, empty room. But that wasn't what caught my eye. On the pendant, etched in elegant carvings was a symbol that I could never forget. ፀሓይ.
"Macy! Are you causing all that racket? I swear, it's 10:40 at night! Don't make me come in there."
I had to keep myself from laughing at my foster mothers agression. Compared to everything else right now, she was my littlest of problems. Those cloaked figure- my heart stopped. The black figures! They were probably still chasing me, and surely gaining on me by the minute.
Without a second thought, I stuffed the letter in my pocket and swung the pendant around my neck. I didn't even care how much noise I made as I jumped out of the window again, or the fact that I left a few thick cracks running along it. As the gravel crunched under my feet, all I could think about was getting away. Getting away from whoever was chasing after me.
Looking back, I saw the figures in the distance - though not as far in the distance as I would've liked. They were sprinting towards me from about a block away, persistant to catch up. I took a deep breath as I squeezed my eyes sut and gripped onto the pendant with both of my hands. I felt warm tingles spread from my hands to the rest of my body and couldn't help peaking one eye open to look at whatever it was.
Green light from the pendant shone through the gaps in my fingers, a pure kind of light that I'd never seen before. I heard the figures shouting, they were closer now. Only half a block away. I felt urgency spread through me. I needed to get out of here. Now. I couldn't let them get to me and...
Before another thought could enter my brain an explosion of green light erupted from my hands. No, from the pendant. I could only watch in awe as it consumed the world around me before finally dying down and... I couldn't believe my eyes. Because right there in from of me, was a cliff. And my feet were right at the edge, ready to fall down.
I scrambled backwards from the edge, looking around me. The neighbourhood was the exact same except for the cliff which had just magically . . . Appeared there. I heard Orions voice whisper into my head.
Don't hesitate, just go through with it.
What did that even mean?! I felt my brain moving faster and fast, my heart thumping louder than it ever had before. My head started spinning, his words echoing through my head.
Don't hesitate, just go through with it. Don't hesitate, just go through with it. Don't hesitate, just go through with it.
I looked behind me and saw the figures were only a road away now, and the one in front had stopped and seemed to be studying me. Suddenly I knew what I had to do. As the figures yelled and ran after me, I charged to the edge of the cliff.
I did something that I had never expected to do. Some would call it a leap of faith, but I think of it more like a fall of faith, fits the circumstances better, doesn't it?
So as I sprinted of the edge of the cliff and fell with my arms out into the endless abyss, I didn't hesitate. I just went through with it.

The landing wasn't as comfortable as I would've liked. But at least it was soft grass that I fell onto, and the momentum of the fall didn't seem to even matter, I didn't even get a bruise on me.
Slowly peeling my eyes open, I took in my surroundings. Behind me, there was a forest that looked like something out of a fairytale. Perfect green trees with moss coloured roots, butterfly's dancing around the flowers. Even the grass rustled beautifully, telling its own story in the orchestra of music. To my left and right was a beautiful little area of grass and flower before further back the forest consumed it too. And then in front of me . . . I couldn't believe my eyes. There was an big stone archway with the same symbol I'd seen one too many times and beyond that . . . Was a beautiful village. But not just any village. The village. It was the old village that Orion had showed me tonight. Well, it did look a little more polished and better now and somehow gave old modern vibes because of how clean it but the style still from thousands of years ago.
Lampposts were situated all around the village, casting light around and making it easy to see every little crack and nook in between the houses. I looked back at the archway to see Orion slouching against the stone arch. As soon as we made eye contact he push of it and walked towards me with a grin.
He spread his arms to out to gesture to the scene around us. "Welcome home, Macy."
