All I could do was stare at Orion, my mouth agape in shock. I honestly couldn't believe it. Me? A half-guardian? Talk about ways to make my life even weirder than it was. When I finally got over the striking realisation that this was the turning point in my life and the shock of it all I felt a question well up inside of me. 

"What comes next?"

It took me a few seconds to realise that I was the one who had said those words. Orion looked around and was about to answer when a loud crash of the clock towers door breaking echoed from below, ricocheting around us. In a single second, Orions face fell.

"They're here," He told me urgently. "You have to get out of here, fast! When you get home I'll have a letter in your room explaining everything you have to do. Don't hesitate at all, just go through with it."

"What does that mean?" I asked quickly, fear building up inside of me. 

"You'll find out soon," Orion promised. "Now go! Quickly, Macy!"

I took a few seconds to look around one last time before I nodded and ran to the window on the tenth floor. Right at the top of the bell tower. My instincts seemed to take over my common sense, make me clamber out the window and stand on the edge of a windowsill right above a ginormous clock. I took a deep breath, telling myself not to look down as I scrambled down the triangular roof as quickly as I could. Surprisingly, I made it to just above the clock with no slipping at all. Which was probably good considering I was about 150 metres in the air. 

I heard the noise of people racing up the clock tower stairs, reminding me that I needed to hurry. I needed to get away from whatever or whoever was coming after me.

Jumping down and grabbing onto the clocks hands probably wasn't the smartest thing I've done but hey - desperate times call for desperate measures, right? As I grabbed hold of the handle for dear life, I felt it start to creak. 

"Oh no," I muttered.

It only took another second before the bigger hand of the clock came crashing down in a perfect semi-circle before rocking back and forth until it finally came to a stop inline with the six. I blew out a relieved breath and jumped down onto the ledge under the clock, hoping everyone doesn't get too mad that some mysterious person changed the time. Not that it mattered right now, all I cared about was getting back to my house and finding whatever note Orion had left me. 

Slowly, I lowered into a crouch before gripping the ledge tight with my hands and letting myself dangle down from it. Feeling below me with my foot, I found a windows and kicked it open with my shoe before jumping inside nimbly. I landed in a flight of stairs with a dim light coming the through the window I'd just entered from. Wasting no time, I ran down the many series of steps, hoping the whatever was chasing me wouldn't find out where I now was. I quickly managed to get to the bottom of the tower and run through the splintered remains of what used of the front door. 

I ran down the street, glancing behind me to see people in black clothes at the top window of the bell tower, pointing down at me. I felt a lump in my throat and reached deep inside of me for the energy to keep going - faster, faster, faster. Before I knew it I was sprinting down the road faster than I'd ever run before, the buildings blurring around me as I passed them.

It took less than half the time to get back home, and I practically jumped through the window to the my room. The noise would've been more than enough to wake up my foster mother but I didn't care right now, all I needed to do was find Orions letter. Scrambling to my feet, I looked around the room till my eyes laid on a crumpled letter next to a small necklace sitting on the edge of my bed.

YAY! CHAPTER 5 IS FINALLY DONE!! Sorry I haven't updated in a while, holidays really are hectic. Anyways, I hope you liked it and I'll try to update soon! (Can't leave you on too big of a cliff hanger).
