"You probably hated me when we first met" she says, leaning her back against the wooden post. The night sky was shining tonight. The stars blanketed the dark cosmos as the full moon beamed a spotlight over her shiny and long black hair.

      Erwin bit back a grin, letting out a sigh as his blue eyes looked out in the open field. "I was feeling a lot of things that day," he admitted, leaning his shoulder against the wooden post opposite of hers. "Tired, annoyed, curious......probably a little hungry, I'm not going to lie to you,"

      His words caused her to let out a soft chuckle. Her pink lips curved ever so slightly into a soft smile as her glowing green eyes stared at him, waiting for him to continue. Erwin smiled back at her gently, looking at her from the corners of his eyes. He loved her smile. She only ever did so once every blue moon but whenever she did, it was only for his eyes.

    "But hate was not one of them," he continued, his voice lowered a bit. He looked down at his neatly intertwined fingers in front of him before giving her his full attention. "It's impossible to feel hatred towards you, delphine ackerman. Especially with eyes like yours."

     Delphine paused a bit, feeling her heart thump against her ribcage. She hadn't expected him to say something like that to her. Erwin really was a man full of surprises.

     "What were you thinking when you first saw me?"

      Erwin stayed quiet for a few moments, before he started scanning every detail shown on her face. Every curve of her eyes, the light emerald green in the irises, the hint of sapphire blue near the pupils. The swoop of her small nose, the heart shaped frame of her jawline. Delphine is a precious jewel amongst rocks and rubbles.

     She is silk blanketing a field of thorns, the sun rays bleeding through the grey and gloomy sky, she is what Erwin imagines what the ocean looks like. Deep, enchanting and full of mystery.

     "Do you want me to be honest with you?" He finally spoke up, turned to lean on his back, crossing his muscular arms.

     "I would prefer it, yes," she replied almost sarcastically, cocking an eyebrow at him. "Unless you would rather tell me a pretty lie again."

     "...... she's a rose amongst thorns," Erwin nearly whispered, staring deeply into her glowing eyes. " the most beguilingly ethereal sight I have ever seen......... and I can't believe she looked at me......"

      Delphine felt her cheeks turn pink as her heart sank with every pretty word he spoke. And there were no lies detected in them. That was the most nerve-wrecking part about it. Erwin didn't lie to her. It made her feel anxious and jittery.

    Erwin smiled at her, still peering at her softly with his brighter than the sky blue eyes. "Those were my exact thoughts."

This is going to have elements of a reverse harem because delphine is described to have the beauty of a royal. like her looks make her stand out in the underground city. also, I have this headcanon that Kuchel taught French to Levi when he was a kid so that's going to be a thing here.
