STELLA is grinning as she opens the apartment door after hearing a knock come from it.

"hi," she says, itching to reach across and grab his hand.

"hi," he says, a soft smile lighting up his face as he doesn't even try to resist the urge to touch her.

he reaches forward and lifts her chin to plant a soft kiss on the divot right beneath her bottom lip. he's about to touch his lips to hers when a loud gasp sounds from somewhere behind stella.

cora, daisy, and sebastian stand near the doorway, equally shocked expressions on their face. they stare at stella in accusation.

"when the fuck did this happen and why were we not informed?" sebastian demands.

stella blinks. louis blinks. they share a look.

"well..." louis starts.

"it just sorta happened," stella finishes.

"what do you mean it 'sorta' happened?!" cora narrows her eyes. "how long?"

they share another look.

"since the date with drew," stella says finally.

"WHAT?!" daisy shrieks. "that was like a month ago!"

"damn, so chris was right," sebastian muses.

stella furrows her brows. "what do you mean chris was right?"

"he told us he texted drew about the 'sitch' and he didn't really tell us what happened exactly but drew did imply that you guys finally got your shit together."

"honestly, we knew you were together and were just waiting for you to tell us," cora adds.

"really?" louis asks.

"you guys made it so obvious with the blatant longing looks and do I need to mention the finsta and insta posts?"

"point taken," stella says. "i was going to tell you guys. we just wanted some time to ourselves first. i mean considering how fucking long i waited."

they all let out laughs, while louis shakes his head amusedly and wraps his arm around her waist.

"i was trying to make up for lost time," he says softly, staring at her with a small smile on his face.

she smiles back shyly, turning away from his intense stare.

"well, it's about fucking time." sebastian slaps louis's shoulder.

cora rolls her eyes. "for real. daisy and i started thinking we needed to knock some sense into you the good old-fashioned way."

to emphasize this, daisy hits her fist against her palm on her other hand.

stella snorts out a laugh and louis looks mildly terrified.

"well, i'm glad it didn't have to come to that," louis says in all seriousness.

cora and daisy nod solemnly.

"also it goes without saying that we won't hesitate to resort to those methods if you ever hurt her," daisy tells him.

cora and sebastian nod in agreement. stella just smiles and rolls her eyes. they're excessive at times, but they care about her more than she can ever know.

"of course," louis says in understanding. "but it won't ever have to come to that because she's safe with me."

he turns to look at her, eyes glazed over with an emotion deeper than anything stella has ever seen. no one has ever looked at her like this. she feels like ash underneath his gaze, and for some reason, she would stay like that forever if it meant keeping his eyes on her.

"she's always safe with me."

and he means every single word.

so...i'm sorry for the lack of updates please forgive me guys

idk what's happening but for the past couple of months my love for writing has sort of faded a bit and i've had no motivation to write at all. i'm trying to get back into a rhythm for writing so hopefully i'll be able to update my other books

tbh i'm feeling post concert depression after seeing zayn last night and i needed to fill the void by writing something so yay
