4| MOCK ME AGAIN
"I thought they were in the Bahamas." Aria said in disbelief a few days later. Rafe showed up to her little shack, leaning in her door way and explained everything. He sniffled everything few minutes and was talking quick with a lot of hand motions.
"Absolutely not. Kelce saw them in town." Rafe spoke, his hands latching onto her arms suddenly, "Do you understand with this means? Hum? Aria?"
"Means that him and Sarah can testify and say you shot the sheriff." Aria nodded as she stared off a second, "Two against two. Okay, okay, okay."
She paced slightly as her mind raced, her thoughts and others taking over. Rafe watched her closely, keeping a eye on her with every step she took, "Aria, don't disappear on me. I need you right now."
Aria nodded as she looked over, "Means John B is gonna have to go down."
"But is he gonna confuses? No." Rafe shook his head, watching her pace again. She lacked attention on certain task bad, she always had. It was a default from her mom using when she was pregnant. Aria never got it looked at or diagnosed, but she'd done enough research to know that's where it came from. Rafe saw it again right now, "Don't slip away right now."
"We gotta kill him." she shook her head and turned her head to Rafe, "He isn't gonna confess. No, no, no, he isn't. I mean, it's the only way."
Rafe nodded as he licked his lips, "I get if you don't wanna get involved. But I need you, seriously."
Aria nodded her head, eyes dancing around before setting on him, "I'm with you."
Rafe cracked her a grin, watching as she walked back toward the tiny bedroom, "Where are you going?"
He could see her in the doorway, watching her bend over and lift the floor board. Rafe turned his head to the side as he watched her pull out a Glock 17, cocking it and sticking it into her waist band. She met Rafes eye down the hall when she stood up, "I'm not going down with you if this backfires."
"It's not gonna." he shook his head, the distance between them feeling oddly closer, "I'm gonna take care of you, all right?"
"Visual learner." Aria shrugged, grabbing her pair of combat boots and walking his way, "Let's go."
"One more t-" he began.
"Yo! Whatch y'all doing in there?" a voice called from inside of Rafes truck.
"Who the hell is that?" Aria asked as she pulled her shoes on, standing up straight as the pair of jeans clung to her along with the lace up shirt.
"Barry." Rafe cleared his throat, walking with her.
"Who is a Barry?" she asked in disbelief as they neared the Range Rover.
"My dealer." Rafe said, holding the back door open as Aria jumped in.
"Shit, I know that face!" Barry laughed as Rafe hurried to circle the car and get in, knowing they weren't gonna mix well together one bit, "Is that crazy Crains grandkid?"
"Don't piss her off, man." Rafe warned as he drove out of the dirt drive way.
"Oh, or what? Yo, you gonna cut my head off and throw it in a well or what?" he laughed, looking over the seat at Aria, "Homicide Offspring."
"I just might." Aria gave a shrug of her shoulders causally. Rafe tried to hide his grin, turning his head to make it look like he was looking at the stop sign on his left.
"I need to know who's over here at John B's spot." Barry spoke up as the darkness of the sky over clouded the sunset, a gun in his hand while Rafe loaded his.
"I don't even know if he's there. I just know he's on the island." Rafe shook his head, looking his way.
Aria slummed in the back with one of her legs up on the seat, "He'd be a dumbass to go there."
"Well, he is a dumbass." Rafe agreed with her.
"That is a complete lack of discipline, homie." Barry shook his head.
"Then whats your suggestion? We're about two minutes from the place." Rafe questioned him in annoyance.
"We do some recon. Why don't you just follow my head, just shut up for once?" the older guy asked with a eyebrow raise his way.
"Why? So a bunch of weirdo pogues can charge at us? You have no mind!" Aria said from the back, kicking Barry's seat hard.
"Then what exactly do you suggest then?" Barry mocked her, glancing her way through the mirror, "My ears are open."
"Common sense is knowing if they hear us, they're gonna run or hide. John B is not gonna come out, chest puffed, and ready to throw down." Aria pointed out, glancing at the two of them from the middle seat in the back, "How exactly am I the one that dropped out?"
"Do you even know this guy?" Rafe asked her with a odd look, turning his head back.
"Everyone on The Cut knows John B." Aria shrugged her shoulders, "And his gang of hooligans. Kiara and I have beef."
"Y'all have always had beef." Rafe waved her off. It wasn't necessary true. Kie showed up at the Kook Academy a year after Arias reputation was ruined and she was living on The Cut. But that wasn't the root of the story.
"Yeah, and it's still there." she pointed out with a roll of her eyes, "Maybe I'll wave my gun in her face and scare her a bit."
"Well, it's your time to shine." Rafe spoke as they pulled up a few yards from the Chateau.
"Tranquillo. You feel me?" Barry looked over at Rafe, the light from the stereo illuminating a faint blue color.
"Tranquillo?" Rafe questioned in a low tone.
"Tranquillo, baby." Barry repeated himself, "Let's be smart."
"Hate to break up your circle jerk." Aria cleared her throat from the back, "But I gotta be home by eleven."
"What happens at eleven?" Barry asked her with a odd look.
"I grow a tail and howl at the moon, duh." Aria gave a shrug as she opened the door. Barry looked at Rafe in disbelief, the Cameron boy raising his hands in defense and getting out.
"There's lights." Aria pointed out as the three crept up behind the over grown bushes.
"Didn't notice." Rafe rolled his eyes.
"I ain't see shit." Barry scoffed as he looked around, "What about you?"
"No. They can't be far though." Rafe whispered back.
"Probably heard your loud ass breathing." Aria spoke as she hit Barry in the back of the head.
"Say it again. See if I don't knock your-" he began to threaten her.
"We're wasting time." Rafe cut the pair off with alarming eyes, "Both of you."
"Here's what we're gonna do." Barry spoke as he eyed the back yard, "I'm gonna go inside. I'm gonna flush them out if they're in there. Yalls dumbasses flank left, meet me out there by the porch."
Aria nudged Rafe as Barry headed off toward the front to head inside, "Whats this guys deal?"
"What do you mean?" he asked as they headed toward the left of the chateau.
"Why is he involved? Are you getting him gold too?" she asked, gun held in her hands while looking around for any sight of John B.
"No, absolutely not." Rafe shook his head as he trailed behind her, "It's a long story for a different time."
"Whatever." Aria shrugged as they walked toward the back porch. Rafes eyes set on the fire, it clearly recently been put out the way it continued to smoke.
"Where the hell are you?" he whispered to himself with a clear look of annoyance and exhaustion across his face.
"Barry's probably getting them inside." Aria spoke, though he walked out empty handed on que.
"Nothing?" Rafe asked the obvious as he paced slightly.
"No, nothing, Rafe." he waved him off.
"They were obviously just here based off the smoke!" the Cameron boys voice rose. Aria grabbed the red hat on one of the chairs, examining it before throwing it back down.
"Great observation, Boy Scout." Barry mocked him.
"They're not far, you know?" Rafe spoke in anger as he paced.
"Smokey the Bear! Look at you, bro." Barry cheered with a loud laugh.
Aria looked his way, "Do you ever get sick of your own voice?"
"Not nearly as sick as I get of yours." he argued with her, "Like a damn mosquito just flyin around my ear all the time."
"If I have to hear you for another second i'll probably blow my damn head off." Aria explained as she waved the gun, twisting it across her index finger.
"Aye, don't let me stop you." Barry rose his hands and nodded her way, "Whenever you're ready."
"How's a murder-suicide gonna look?" Aria shrugged as she suddenly pointed her gun his way.
"Aria, hey!" Rafe called to her.
"Mock me again, mock me again!" she yelled as she got closer to Barry, watching as he rose his hands and backed up.
"Hey, hey, chill, chill out, just messing with you." Barry spoke quickly as he looked at her with a crazy look in his eye. The way she snapped so quick, it wasn't normal, far from it.
"Aria." Rafe warned her from a few feet away, "Chill out."
Aria lowered her gun as she glared at Barry, "Don't look at me."
Barry took her advice and instead looked toward Rafe, watching as his eyes set on the shitty shaped heart on the tree, "P4L."
Rafe turned and gave a comical laugh, pointing his gun over at it, "Well, shit."
"So your sisters a Pogue for life, huh, Rafe? Now who would've thought?" Barry laughed as he looked around the fire pit.
"Little miss Sarah." Aria mocked as her jaw tightened, "P4L."
Rafes breathed heavy a moment as his body held back, "Shit!"
"All right, chill." Barry tried to reason.
"Yeah, let it loose, Rafe. Don't hold that anger in." Aria encouraged, twisting the gun around her finger again, "All it's gonna do is tear you up."
Rafe suddenly shot twice at the tree, aiming right in the middle and hitting it twice. Barry grabbed his arm to lower it, "Rafe, chill! Chill your shit! Chill out! You're gonna get our asses busted, dawg."
"I gotta give it to you, man." Aria laughed as she looked over at Barry, "Major balls."
"You're crazy, you are." Barry pointed at her before he shoved Rafe, "Let's bounce. Let's bounce. Let's go!"
