CAPRI MARTIN LIVED HER LIFE FULL of uncertainty. Ever since the death of her mother, Melinda, she'd become disassociated with reality and the happenings around her. Even though she was a preppy cheerleader, she didn't care about her team winning basketball games or excelling in cheer competitions. And she couldn't care less about the town's golden boy, Nathan Scott. Capri Martin only cared about her family, her mother's legacy, and her only real friend, Jake —— that was all she needed.

WHEREAS NATHAN SCOTT CARED about nothing and no one but himself and basketball. He didn't care about his bastard brother, his punk rock girlfriend, the rules, or the feelings of others. He didn't even care about Capri Martin or how she'd react when she'd found out about the bet he so carelessly made. Nathan Scott only cared about Nathan Scott, winning games, and being the next best thing.

THAT IS UNTIL THE BET BEGINS TO ultimately fail. Unknowingly, feelings begin to arise, touches become craved, and denial begins to become a second language. And, against Capri's knowledge, Nathan fails to utter the safe word: game over.
