Even after the debacle between Viktor, Dusk, & Allison, the Umbrellas and Sparrows couldn't continue discussing a plan to defeat the kugelblitz. It was like the fight had thrown everyone's focus completely off. Viktor couldn't handle being in the room with Allison's rage. And like the old saying goes, if you can't stand the heat, then stay out of the kitchen. And that's exactly what he did, left the room to go check on the raven's well-being. "I'll be the first one to say it. Unless we can all act like adults instead of children, this is a waste of time," Luther spoke.

"Don't put this on us, big guy. If Viktor hadn't done what he did, we would have a plan by now," Allison rolled her eyes before sipping on her glass of alcohol. Luther glared at her, silently telling her she needed to shut her mouth before refocusing his gaze on the family. "This is exactly what I'm talking about. We need to all take a deep breath and stay focused. Now, can someone go get Dusk and Viktor?"

Everyone looked around the room, curious to know who was going to go convince them. Eventually, the prolonged silence was becoming annoying, and Ben sighed rather loudly. "Fine, I'll do it!" He muttered as he stood up from the couch and dashed upstairs. As he reached the bedroom level, his footsteps lightly echoed around the room as he followed the sounds of voices. At first, he thought it was coming from his room. But as he walked past Sloane's closed room into Fei's, the answer soon became clear.

With the turn of the doorknob, Ben stepped into the room as Dusk and Viktor stopped their conversations and glanced at him. "Let me stop you short, we're not going down to help if Allison's still there," the raven girl claimed. "Have you two been waiting for someone to come chase after you this whole time? Maybe that redhead or the jumpy guy?" The Squid Boy inquired.Β

The two Umbrellas stayed silent while Ben chuckled, slowly walking around the bedroom. "That's so embarrassing," "Well, it's official. Our Ben was better," Viktor spoke up. Ben turned away from the window, folding his arms across his chest. "So I'm told. You know, people say we have egos, but you're the real messy bitches. Letting the world burn because you're angry with your sister?" Ben could tell Dusk was getting triggered by his words. Not to the point where she would tackle him, but enough to make her fists clench.

"Eh, won't matter much longer anyway. In a few days, we'll all be kugeltoast. So, continue being selfish bastards if you wish," Ben turned to walk away, but as he was about to step back into the hallway, he retreated a few steps. "And stop crying on Sloane's bed. It's gross," With that last comment, he shut the door and began making his way back to the living room. As he was about to go down the wooden staircase, he heard the bedroom door open and the sounds of footsteps.

Good, they finally came out.Β When he reached the bottom of the steps, Dusk and Viktor rounded the corner and came down as the rest of the siblings entered the main hall. "Looks like you two finally came out, huh?" Allison scoffed. Ignoring her comment, the Umbrellas and Sparrows went down to the basement, as the kugelblitz glowed seemingly brighter. The Umbrella's eyes widened with surprise as they probably thought it was a lot smaller. But regardless of size, it was not something to be trifled with.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Fei asked. "This whole thing's gonna take the damn universe," Five noted as he walked around the mass of lightning. "What's it made of?" "Micro black holes collapsing at increasingly short intervals," Sloane responded. The Time Traveler asked how they weren't being sucked into it, to which Sparrow Five responded that they didn't know. "You shouldn't exist here, and neither should this,"

"Grace has been tracking the waves. The next one is due in three hours," Fei added. "Okay, and how do you propose we trap this thing?" Dusk questioned. "We trap it. For this to work, we'll need me, Lila, Christopher, and-" Before Sloane could finish her sentence, Allison cut in, guessing the fourth person was Viktor. She made another snarky comment which again cut Viktor deep. Can someone tape her mouth shut, please? Please!Β Dahlia's inner consciousness pleaded.Β

Out of the corner of her eye, the Icy Sparrow watched as Allison had enough and stormed back upstairs, her footsteps echoing throughout the basement. "Viktor, Lila, you need to keep your strength up. There are some leftover green smoothies in the fridge. D, would you lead them to the kitchen?" Fei turned to her sister. "Sure thing," Dahlia nodded, and with a slight turn of her head, Sparrow Eight led them to the kitchen, almost blinded by the bright orange rays of the setting sun.

"Here, let me get those. The fridge is right there!" Dahlia grimaced, dashing towards the windows and quickly pulling down the thick black blinds. The moment they fully came down, Dahlia squinted and blinked her eyes, desperate to gain back her sight. "Where are the glasses?" Lila questioned. "Top shelf, right next to the bowls," the blonde responded. She grabbed the plastic container of the green liquid and poured it into the glasses, sliding them toward the Umbrellas.

"You want a smoothie too, Red?" Dahlia questioned, shifting her gaze to Victoria, who sat at the corner of the counter. "Why not?" She sighed. Victoria stood up from her stool and poured the pitcher into an empty glass. The two women locked their gaze for a moment. They hadn't stared at each other like that since the grocery store fight. And just from the look of hatred in Victoria's eyes, Dahlia knew she held some resentment.

Finally, the redhead's gaze shifted to Dahlia's shoes. "Your laces are untied," she stated. Dahlia looked down to see that sure enough, she was telling the truth. She stooped down and began fixing the double knot, and just as she was about to finish, something cold and green fell on top of her, making her shout and wonder what was happening.

"What the hell?!" Dahlia demanded, looking up to see Lila and Viktor clasping their hands over their mouths trying not to laugh. She then glanced at Victoria, who had a slight smirk and was holding the now-empty smoothie glass. "Why did you do that?" the blonde shouted. "That's what you get for hurting my friend!" Victoria growled. Dahlia's hands flew to her hair as she dashed to the mirror, watching in horror as the green smoothie chunks slid down her blonde locks and onto her face.

And as she ran to the bathroom, she could hear the three Umbrellas laughing and cackling like witches. The task of getting everything out was particularly difficult, as she tried to take out the spinach and pineapple, they seemed to bury themselves deeper into her hair. Dahlia muttered her frustrations, both chastising herself and Victoria's actions. Half an hour later as she stared into the fogged reflection, the damage had been somewhat repaired, but remnants of it still lingered.

"Dahlia, it's time," Fei's voice called out. Dahlia whipped her head towards the door, surprised by how fast the time flew by. Perhaps if someone didn't stare at the clock for a long time, it wouldn't feel like it was taking forever. The Icy Sparrow dried her hair the best she could before heading back to the basement. While Viktor, Lila, Sloane, and Christopher stood around or hovered above the kugelblitz, everyone else watched, hoping for the best.

"One of those black holes inside is vibrating at a different rate. Whatever happens, don't let them speed up or change," Fei instructed the four. Dahlia's back pressed against one of the brick pillars, occasionally touching her damp hair. But then something caught her attention and she looked towards the entrance. Feminine humming and the clacking of familiar heels were getting closer. And when the person came out of the shadows, she and the others were surprised to see Grace.

"You didn't tell me you were building a prison for God," Grace echoed. The look on her face became visible to them, she was angry. " You have no right to do that!" "We're a little busy here, Grace!" Luther responded. But instead of turning around and walking back upstairs, she started murmuring something. It started low, but it grew louder and louder.Β "The day of vengeance was in my heart and my year of redemption hath come!" She chanted, pulling out a blowtorch, her finger on the trigger.

With widened eyes, the Sparrows and Umbrellas ducked for cover as Grace moved the torch around, attempting to burn anyone in her sight. Dahlia ducked down just as the flames were about to touch her, and she could feel adrenaline and fear course through her veins. If this was someone with a gun or knife, she could've instantly used her powers. But since fire melted ice, there was no way she would've stood a chance against Grace.

Diego, the Umbrella who was supposedly close to her, tried to calm her down, but Grace continued to chant, and as she was about to light him up with her blowtorch, Diego hid behind a pillar, the sleeve of his shirt catching fire. Grace's chants grew more and more robotic and broken, and she didn't seem likely to give up. As Dahlia poked her head out of her hiding spot, she caught glimpse of Dusk on the opposite end of her coming into the open, firing igniting from her hands.

"What are you doing, idiot?!" Dahlia shouted. "Fighting fire with fire, what does it look like?" Dusk replied. The blonde rolled her eyes, the phrase not making any sense even to the present day. Reginald had said that quote numerous times when it came to the Sparrow's missions, but she never understood it. If someone were to use logs instead of water to put out a fire, they would be feeding the flames instead of fighting it!Β She's gonna get herself killed!

Suddenly, Grace's chants and the roar of the flamethrower stopped. And everyone looked at one another in confusion. Thinking the fight was done, they focused back on the kugelblitz. It was now significantly smaller, and Christopher had broken himself into pieces as he surrounded the ball, waiting for Sloane's command. "Now!" She nodded to the cube. He quickly put himselfΒ back together, containing the pea-sized ball inside him.Β

Viktor, Lila, and Sloane all panted with relief after releasing nearly all the energy they had. Christopher slightly twitched, and they all stared at him. The next wave was due in seconds, had their plan worked or failed? "Did it work?" Five asked as he jumped back to the basement.Β "Next kugelwave in three... two... one..." Sloane counted. Please work, please work! Dahlia prayed.Β Luckily for all of them, the next kugelwave hadn't killed them all. Instead, it was a tiny case of flatulence from the floating cube. "We did it!" Dusk gasped.

The siblings erupted with cheers and applause, hugging one another and grateful that this hadn't been the end for them. "Now, who wants some Champagne?"
