Back at the Academy, Christopher, Dahlia, and Fei stared at their unconscious captive as he lay on the white-clothed table, still in his ice entrapment. "When do you think he'll wake up?" Dahlia asked, her gaze shifting to Grace, who plugged in a mini heater a couple of feet away. "He'll wake up soon enough. I'm surprised our guest is covered in ice," Grace answered. Dahlia gave no response as she walked into the kitchen, where the rest of her siblings grabbed their breakfast.

"Hey D, want a smoothie?" Sloane asked. "Why not?" the Icy Sparrow shrugged, grabbing a plate from the cupboard and piling some mixed fruit, two frozen Eggos topped with almond butter, and a few spoonfuls of natural-based yogurt with granola. "Here you go," Sloane smiled, handing her sister the vegetable-filled concoction as she took her seat next to Jayme. "Frozen again?" Jayme squinted as Dahlia grabbed one of her Eggos. "Duh, what else?" she nodded before taking a big bite.

As the rest of the Sparrows sat down with their food, Christopher started popping a few jokes, making them all laugh, even Dahlia, though her face quickly turned back into serious. The curtain of the infirmary suddenly flew back, revealing their captive, who was holding a mop as a feeble attempt of a weapon, trailing melted ice behind him. "Ah, there he is!" Alphonso called out to him. The room grew quiet as they all stared at him with fake smiles.

Though Ben didn't have to look at the ape-man to know he was nervous, he could feel the tension in the air. "It's okay. Nobody's going to hurt you," he reassured, taking a sip from his water. Sloane offered the ape-man one of the leftover green smoothies, to which he gladfully accepted. "You must be starving," Fei spoke up, munching on her handful of nuts and seeds. "Oh, uh... no I probably shouldn't. Wait, is that cashew butter?" He questioned, gesturing towards the center of the table.

"Cashew butter, almond butter, sunflower butter, tahini, Brazil nut," Sloane ticked them off, seemingly impressing the captive. "Now that you mention it, I am feeling a bit peckish, actually," He admitted, taking the free seat between Fei and Alphonso. Right away, he seemed to make himself feel at home, and all the Sparrows watched a look of glee form on his face. "So, we know your Number One, but we haven't formally introduced ourselves yet. I'm Ben, Number Two,"

"It is so good to see you again, buddy," The Ape-man chuckled. The Sparrows gave Ben confused looks, quickly drawing his attention. They all thought Ben must've associated with him before but was acted like he didn't have a clue who he was. "Why does everyone keep looking at me like that?" Ben said angrily. "Because you've been dead for 15 years," Luther explained.

Ben looked at him like he suddenly grew two pairs of heads and was speaking in gibberish, the tone of his voice rising as he demanded what he meant by him being dead when he was clearly alive and well. Jayme and Alphonso looked at one another with little smiles, feeling like a fight was about to break out. But Fei quickly deescalated the situation. "Anyway, I'm Fei, Number Three,"

"Alphonso, cuatro," he spoke, holding four scarred fingers up. "Sloane. I'm Five, hey," She smiled before taking a bite of her granola bits. "I'm Jayme, Six," Ben glanced over at Christopher as he chattered away, confusing Luther. "That's Christopher, of course. Number Seven," Ben translated. "Oh, I didn't know Dad adopted a cube," Luther commented, his eyes widened slightly. Dahlia scoffed, capturing their attention, including Luther's.

"Buddy, Christopher wasn't always a cube. He used to be a human just like us. Until... a certain accident caused him to become that way," She spoke, gritting her teeth together. Her grip on her glass of green smoothie tightened, freezing its contents.ย The longer she glared at Ben, the more her eyes turned an icy blue. "Don't mind Dahlia, she's in a bit of a saucy mood today," Ben brushed her off, the other Sparrows chuckled alongside him to break the awkwardness.

"What about your Number One?" Luther questioned. "What about him?" Fei said, a hint of venom in her voice. "Where is he?" Ben grabbed a nearby knife, slamming it into the table and making Luther flinch. "That's what we'd like to know," he growled. Luther leaned forward, asking if they were playing a weird game. But Ben responded with, "Whatever game the Umbrellas are playing, you're gonna lose! You took our Number One, so we took you,"

Luther looked perplexed, having no idea that the Umbrellas took the Sparrow's leader. "And why would we do that?" He asked, looking around at them. "Act of war? Death wish, perhaps?" Jayme snarled. "The last time we saw him, he was with your sister," Sloane said softly. "Which one?" Luther inquired. "The little one with the big powers,"

"Vanya? Well, I have to say, it does not sound like her to kidnap anybody," Luther tried reasoning. "Really? Then why did she meet up with our brother to make some weird deal, and he didn't come home? Sounds like the perfect plan to kidnap someone if you ask me. Lure them to come alone and then pounce," Dahlia hissed, Jayme and Fei slowly nodding.ย

"Listen, this sounds like an easy fix. I'll head back, my family's probably worried sick about me. If they have your guy, I'll send him back without a scratch. No harm, no foul, how does that sound?" The Sparrows remained silent, and as Luther tried to stand up and walk away, one of Ben's tentacles grabbed his shoulder, sitting him back down.ย

"What's the rush, big guy? Stick around until Marcus gets back," Ben grinned. Christopher slowly floated behind Luther, chattering menacingly. "My family will come for me," Luther spoke with confidence, but also a hint of worry. "Wonderful. In the meantime, make yourself at home," Ben then stood up, carrying his empty plate to the sink. As he grabbed an orange from the fruit bowl, he turned back to the ape-man.

"One more thing. If you try to escape, Fei's birds will peck your eyes out and make a nest inside your skull," Luther glanced over at Fei, who chuckled at the thought. The rest of the Sparrows grabbed their empty plates all except for Sloane, who was silently ordered by Ben to keep an eye on Luther. "So, what do you like to do for fun?" She asked him.

Out of the corner of her eye, Dahlia could see them engaging in conversation. How could she be so chill around him after Marcus's disappearance? Surely, she'd be just as upset as the rest of us.
